Great food, we loved it, not cheap but worth it.

Absolutely nice place to have a fun dinner with friends or family. The service staff is welcoming and friendly. The food is great, and so are the drinks! We had the luck to visit there towards the Octoberfest period, so they offered a special dish for this occasion and there was a DJ with some nice dancing music that made the atmosphere so good and happy. Important to note that orders from the kitchen can only be made until 21:00, as the place closes at 23:00.

We were there on August 15th. this year in the Iron Gustav. A restaurant with tradition and well-known German cuisine. We were welcomed very nicely and professionally! Every now and then I like home-style cooking that meets expectations. As it is busy, it is advisable to reserve a table.

It was a very nice evening in this restaurant. Food absolutely top. Real German “homemade food”. Attentive service in a nice and historic atmosphere. Gladly again! Recommended: beef roulade, ribs and Mushroom goulash. Everything else is certainly the same good.

Good, German restaurant, classic dishes of good quality. The roulade with red cabbage and dumplings was very good (photo). The pork knuckle with sauerkraut and pea puree was also good (photo). Unfortunately, the triplets didn't suit us as a potato side dish. We find simple potatoes more suitable . As a little tip, perhaps add a little extra cooking stock, as the pork knuckle meat was quite dry. The Creme Brülett could have been a little bigger, but it was delicious. The Eastern classic raspberry shower top!!

Good home cooking, just like grandma knew it :) Good, simple but appealing atmosphere, very nice service staff. Everything fits together. Have been here several times. As always, the food was very tasty and sufficient. Price-performance ratio is completely fine for today's times. Definitely coming back.

I tried to cancel a reservation today. 1.5 hours long. The receiver was apparently wrong.

Ambiance... well, we sat outside, the tables and chairs are very wobbly due to the old paving. Service... untrained, unmotivated and not particularly hard-working staff, no uniform clothing, smoking in front of the guests. Food... given its oh-so-good reputation, I expected more. At best housewife level. Very unfortunate.

We have been here many times and have to say that the food is always perfect, tastes excellent and the staff are always friendly. We would love to come back.

A wonderful lunch at the Iron Gustav. The beer garden is in the shade at lunchtime, so it literally invites you to linger. The good German cuisine, a larger selection of beer and the extremely friendly and attentive staff leave nothing to be desired. Thank you very much, see you next time 👍🏻

German and French cuisine, anyone who has ever read about the person Eisener Gustav knows why. The menu is surprisingly large, the food is inexpensive for today's times and very good. Children's meals for €4, the portion is big enough for 7 year olds, my recommendation are the fries with truffle pesto! Perfect appetizer for two. There were 7 of us, everyone was thrilled, only our vegetarian complained about the portion size of the Mediterranean casserole, too small and few cheese balls. If you're a vegetarian, it's better to have a snack from the menu first.

Nice location with delicious food. My two children thought it was great too. Waiter (young man) was quick and polite. Would love to come back.

After a beach trip we were hungry and found the food very tasty and extremely cleverly combined. I was even impressed by the tomato sauce with the shrimp or the combination of coachman's cigar and BBQ sauce. French nuances and Berlin dishes. We were looked after by three waitresses who didn't know about each other. Everything went smoothly anyway, they were in a good mood and very nice. Next time we'll take a trip to the Iron Gustav without swimming - just for the food. Highly recommended.

Durch die guten Rezessionen haben wir uns gefreut endlich einmal zum eisernen Gustav zu kommen. Die Bedienung war sehr nett. Mein Mann hatte die Curry Wurst, da kann man zum Glück nicht viel Falsch machen und er ist auch nicht anspruchsvoll. Ich selbst habe mich auf auf die Roulade nach Omas Art gefreut. Dieser Teller war leider weit entfernt davon und hatte eher war vom Kaufland Restaurant als von Oma. Schade aber das kann selbst ich besser kochen und dafür gehe ich da nicht hin. Die Roulade hatte einfach keine typische Füllung, die Klöße waren auch ein fertig Produkt was ich alles sehr schade fand. Rotkohl war lecker ohne frage und die Soße passte auch ganz gut.

The food was very tasty. The menu is clear and definitely sufficient. You can also notice this in the quality. If you love German cuisine, the Eiserne Gustav is highly recommended.

Really delicious German cuisine, from the outside you wouldn't think that it looks so great inside and also fits into the theme of German cuisine, the past is reflected. Super nice hospitality.

Really delicious food, the service was good in terms of friendliness and speed, the music was pleasantly quiet, the ambience was also well chosen with a large garden, everything was clean and everything else was okay. It's just not cheap in terms of price, but normal for today's standards.

The newly designed kitchen is a real asset for French Buchholz!! Everything was very well received and always very well attended. We are now looking forward to being able to use the outdoor area in spring and summer, as there are many cozy places there.

Nice place, it was the first time you can go on holiday there

We were guests last night and were amazed at how busy it was during the weekday holidays. A first good sign, because so many people can't possibly be wrong at the same time. We were quickly assigned a nice seat by the boss and the waiting time was shortened with a drink at the counter. The beer selection is great, in addition to the Berliner Pilsener, which is common in Berlin, you can also order Oberdorfer Helles in a Steinkrug or Bohemian Litovel Hell or Dunkel. There are also other beers on offer, which I didn't notice. Our food order was taken by a very friendly lady who continued to ask about our well-being and wishes, which we found to be very pleasant and accommodating. After a reasonable wait we were served our food. It was excellent, both Coq au bin and the Buchholz ribs are highly recommended. At first I assumed I wouldn't have any trouble with the portion, but in the end I struggled a little, even though I didn't have a starter. The ribs are a revelation. I suspect that they are previously cured and then grilled. Anyway, if you like ribs, you'll love these. There are also green beans and a very tasty potato gratin that is a bit spicy. The Iron Gustav is definitely a recommendation. We were very happy to be guests.

We were there for the third time since the change of ownership. It was so disastrous that we won't be coming back anytime soon. We waited 1.5 hours for our food. Even after we asked about it after about an hour and pointed out that the small children were hungry, it took another 30 minutes. We sometimes waited 20 minutes for drinks. Empty glasses were not cleared away. The food this time was also super bad. The noodle children's dish, for example, had half an omelette over the noodles. The first time my child said "gross" and completely refused. The noodles really just tasted like eggs. This time the adults weren't happy either and left a lot on their plates. Maybe you are overwhelmed with groups of more than 10 people? Then just point out that it will take longer and at least bring the children their food.

It was a wonderful evening with family 😉

A nice restaurant with a good selection of dishes. The service is top! The food was prepared quickly and tasted very good. The portions were quite sufficient. I would like to come back on my next stay. But it's worth ordering a table in advance, the restaurant was very busy on Friday evening.

Home cooking. I've already tried the menu 2-3 times. The food has always been delicious without exception and the staff has always been extremely friendly and accommodating. The ambience is very inviting both inside and outside.

The team always does everything they can to make sure we have a good time and today they have once again outdone themselves. Food was fantastic. The duck was crispy, the knuckle of pork (best pea puree, etc.) juicy and delicious. The ribs, not spare ribs but prime rib, cooked perfectly. Everyone full, everyone happy, portioned just right. Great beer and good drinks. And the service is first class. Friendly, considerate, obliging and that at Berliner Art. Rarely have we experienced such a pleasant and warm mix. Yes, I have to admit, they have made mistakes in the past where something wasn't served as expected, but even then they took care of it and apologized and even then we had a very nice evening afterwards. Because the team took care of it. It's not a given. And for that all the stars I can give.

Deliciously cozy and well catered for

We reserved a table for 10 people two weeks before Mother's Day. Unfortunately when we arrived the reservation was not available. Nevertheless, we got a table straight away. Food was really great. The asparagus soup is divine. I was there a long time ago and I think the iron Gustav has really changed for the better since the new owner. I also think the children's kitchen outside in the garden is a great idea. A bud box for the little ones would be even better, but that's more of a complaint on a high level. The staff was also super nice and accommodating. Thank you. We'd love to come back.
