Well-attended German restaurant. It was okay, but nothing that stays in your memory permanently. Prices within the usual range. A little more creativity would be welcome.

After a beach trip we were hungry and found the food very tasty and extremely cleverly combined. I was even impressed by the tomato sauce with the shrimp or the combination of coachman's cigar and BBQ sauce. French nuances and Berlin dishes. We were looked after by three waitresses who didn't know about each other. Everything went smoothly anyway, they were in a good mood and very nice. Next time we'll take a trip to the Iron Gustav without swimming - just for the food. Highly recommended.

Good German cuisine, with the appropriate ambience in the house or with a beer garden feeling outside when the weather is nice. Service is always very friendly and accommodating. The food was very tasty. The menu is clear and definitely sufficient. You can also notice this in the quality. If you love German cuisine, the Eiserne Gustav is highly recommended.

Really delicious food, the service was good in terms of friendliness and speed, the music was pleasantly quiet, the ambience was also well chosen with a large garden, everything was clean and everything else was okay. It's just not cheap in terms of price, but normal for today's standards.

If you like German cuisine, you've come to the right place. Regular events too. Prices reasonable. You are welcome there as a guest.

The newly designed kitchen is a real asset for French Buchholz!! Everything was very well received and always very well attended. We are now looking forward to being able to use the outdoor area in spring and summer, as there are many cozy places there.

We were guests last night and were amazed at how busy it was during the weekday holidays. A first good sign, because so many people can't possibly be wrong at the same time. We were quickly assigned a nice seat by the boss and the waiting time was shortened with a drink at the counter. The beer selection is great, in addition to the Berliner Pilsener, which is common in Berlin, you can also order Oberdorfer Helles in a Steinkrug or Bohemian Litovel Hell or Dunkel. There are also other beers on offer, which I didn't notice. Our food order was taken by a very friendly lady who continued to ask about our well-being and wishes, which we found to be very pleasant and accommodating. After a reasonable wait we were served our food. It was excellent, both Coq au bin and the Buchholz ribs are highly recommended. At first I assumed I wouldn't have any trouble with the portion, but in the end I struggled a little, even though I didn't have a starter. The ribs are a revelation. I suspect that they are previously cured and then grilled. Anyway, if you like ribs, you'll love these. There are also green beans and a very tasty potato gratin that is a bit spicy. The Iron Gustav is definitely a recommendation. We were very happy to be guests.

Nice place, it was the first time you can go on holiday there

We were there for the third time since the change of ownership. It was so disastrous that we won't be coming back anytime soon. We waited 1.5 hours for our food. Even after we asked about it after about an hour and pointed out that the small children were hungry, it took another 30 minutes. We sometimes waited 20 minutes for drinks. Empty glasses were not cleared away. The food this time was also super bad. The noodle children's dish, for example, had half an omelette over the noodles. The first time my child said "gross" and completely refused. The noodles really just tasted like eggs. This time the adults weren't happy either and left a lot on their plates. Maybe you are overwhelmed with groups of more than 10 people? Then just point out that it will take longer and at least bring the children their food.

Home cooking. I've already tried the menu 2-3 times. The food has always been delicious without exception and the staff has always been extremely friendly and accommodating. The ambience is very inviting both inside and outside.

The team always does everything they can to make sure we have a good time and today they have once again outdone themselves. Food was fantastic. The duck was crispy, the knuckle of pork (best pea puree, etc.) juicy and delicious. The ribs, not spare ribs but prime rib, cooked perfectly. Everyone full, everyone happy, portioned just right. Great beer and good drinks. And the service is first class. Friendly, considerate, obliging and that at Berliner Art. Rarely have we experienced such a pleasant and warm mix. Yes, I have to admit, they have made mistakes in the past where something wasn't served as expected, but even then they took care of it and apologized and even then we had a very nice evening afterwards. Because the team took care of it. It's not a given. And for that all the stars I can give.

A really nice restaurant and a cozy and large outdoor area. The staff is great and the food is super delicious, beautiful German cuisine! It is advisable to reserve in advance.

We reserved a table for 10 people two weeks before Mother's Day. Unfortunately when we arrived the reservation was not available. Nevertheless, we got a table straight away. Food was really great. The asparagus soup is divine. I was there a long time ago and I think the iron Gustav has really changed for the better since the new owner. I also think the children's kitchen outside in the garden is a great idea. A bud box for the little ones would be even better, but that's more of a complaint on a high level. The staff was also super nice and accommodating. Thank you. We'd love to come back.

You can feel the proximity to Brandenburg! The hard-working waitress gave a very grumpy impression upon arrival. The politely asked question as to what beer they would drink would be answered with a gruff... why did you have the menu card.... I would have liked to use them, but since we only had two tickets for three people, I only had time to choose my meal. The food was very tasty and arrived in a relatively short time, despite the tables being full. The drinks were also tapped and well chilled. With a little more friendliness it would have been a completely successful visit. So it was more of a Brandenburg country trip. People are quite used to this tone there.

A nice restaurant with really good food and always very friendly service. The kitchen contains German-French cuisine, very down-to-earth and of good quality. The veal schnitzel with asparagus and potatoes was absolutely delicious. My guests and I all agreed that we hadn't eaten such a good schnitzel in a long time. The asparagus was also excellent.

Unfortunately the food festival was a total failure, I saw nine food stalls, one duck fishing spot, a sweets/cotton candy stand, a stage and an overpriced toilet (70ct). It was very crowded and confusing. The selection of food could perhaps be called a snack bar. There was nothing that you couldn't try on every corner in Berlin. It's better to invest the money in a kebab in the future, then at least you'll be full afterwards.

We have been going to Den Eisernen Gustav on and off for about 3 years. So far there has been nothing to complain about either the food, the friendliness of the service or the waiting time for food and drinks. A visit is definitely worth it (even for vegetarians/vegans) and tasty, even if it's not exactly cheap, but where else is it these days? ;) Don't forget to make a reservation because it's full in the evening.

An institution in Buchholz and one of the few options in the area to get real home-style German cuisine again. The food is good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very rustic, but it fits the concept.

We visited the Iron Gustav for the first time today after a carriage ride and were really very satisfied. The food was perfect and the service was super friendly. We'll definitely be back.👍😋

Since my childhood I have been a guest at the “Eisernen Gustav”, a real classic in Buchholz. After a period of declining quality, I was excited for our latest visit - and I was not disappointed! The restaurant has noticeably improved: the dishes were excellent and the service was extremely friendly, which other guests apparently also noticed positively. The portions are very generous, so you're sure to be full and the price-performance ratio is right. Yes, the prices are not low at around €20 for a main course, but they are completely justified given the general price trend and the quality of the food. I'm already looking forward to the next visit and am excited to see whether the "Iron Gustav" can maintain its current level. It seems as if the restaurant is well on its way to re-establishing itself as a reliable address for good food in Buchholz.

Always happy.comfortable and rustic.food is inexpensive and delicious.The new operators bring a breath of fresh air, more decoration at the bar.I think the beer garden is great, a lot has changed there too.The toilets inside are new but still small, for men 1 toilet and urinal, for the ladies 2 toilets but narrow, but very nicely and cleanly renovated, there is even a tampong offer for the ladies in emergencies, I also think the disinfectant dispenser in the toilet cubicle is great. The food is typically German with variations special dishes.Lots of good vegan dishes.Fast and friendly service.Compared to the past, a little could be done on the walls to address the topic, there were other coach drivers and there was a Rosskur clinic nearby... .for carriage horses.I like going there.Keep it up!
