I really like this store. The food is excellent here we have a typical Cologne impression in Berlin on the water. That means we really have a beautiful terrace in summer right on the Spree. There is excellent outdoor dining here and in the evenings you can relax with a glass of Kölsch. Definitely recommended as a short Berlin tour in summer and evening.

We had a great business lunch with top service in the best weather. From the reservation, to the table, to the ordering, to the quality of the food, to the speed of the “automatic” drinks, it could hardly have been done better. If “Köbes” spoke Kölsch now, then it would be perfect. But even so, it is a recommendation.

I came here with high expectations, but the food was all too salty... Is German food really like this? I got goosebumps from chewing on salt chunks. In the end, I left everything and just drank beer. There are a lot of people at the outdoor tables, so it's noisy, but the atmosphere itself is nice because it's next to the river. The employees are also friendly. The lights and the smell of cigarettes make it a bit dizzy, but... + The waiter asks for an excessive tip after we finish eating. I was disappointed because the food was so salty. For others, I recommend just drinking beer!

The food and service are seamlessly delivered with care. The location is excellent, and the atmosphere strikes a balance between a lively beer hall and a casual food hall. Everything we ordered was spot on, and the menu offered a great variety. The blutwurst was fantastic, the currywurst and pork knuckle were well-prepared, and the desserts were exceptional! A great spot for a hearty and authentic meal.

Great place. You simply have to go here when you are in Berlin. It's really loud here but it fits. Great location with friendly and fast staff and good food and especially the Kölsch.

Spontaneously had dinner here before our visit to the Friedrichstadt Palast. We were very lucky to get a table for 3. Despite the many guests, the service was friendly and helpful. The kitchen is quick and the food is delicious.

Very nice atmosphere, very good for children. 👍 Child was happy. International audience. A deduction for the service: Could be a little friendlier & please wait until we have finished eating. My son had just devoured the last of the fries when the plate was gone. Waiting 5 minutes would be good :-) Otherwise the tarte flambée was very tasty

I spent several hours in this fine establishment as part of a group of 7, we had a couple of drinks and then our main meal which did not disappoint, as a Scotsman who spent many years stationed in west Germany with the British army and had my fair share of traditional German meals this place is right up there with the best. The food was excellent and the service faultless even when it was really busy the waiters & waitresses ensure your every need is met.

If you love the Rhineland, this is the right place for you. Kitchen is rustic and very good. The Chancellor Filet (Currywurst) is particularly good and you won't be disappointed here either. There is Kölsch and the walls are full of German history. The service is a nice mix of Berlin snout and Rhenish cheerfulness. I love it here.

I paid €23.90 for a pork knuckle that was so small! was that it seemed more like a children's portion. For this price this is nothing more than a rip off. Plus €5.90 for a small portion of fries – simply overpriced. My tip: Just go there for a drink, but go somewhere else to eat. That doesn't work at all. 2 main courses + 2 beers + 1 fries = €63!!!!

Comida típica alemana, buena en un ambiente relajado. Nos atendieron razonablemente bien, pero el camarero que vino a cerrar nuestra cuenta fue tan grosero! Quizás porque es un ambiente típico alemán, no estoy acostumbrado a las turistas femeninas, pero el respeto es esencial en cualquier ocasión. El servicio al final no hizo que nuestro almuerzo valiera la pena.

We had reserved and after an hour we were seated directly at the door. So leaves something to be desired! We still had 30 minutes at our old place and a full beer.

When we were looking for a table in a nearby restaurant around 8:30 p.m., the permanent representation apparently already gave the impression that it was full. However, the attentive waiter saw us before we even had the chance to go out the door and asked us to come in because there was enough space for everyone. Without further ado, we were seated at a table with other guests, but that didn't bother anyone involved. When the menus were handed over, the first Kölsch was ordered simply by eye contact and the waiter's nod of approval. The food we ordered was excellent and extremely filling. In true Cologne style, no one was left hungry or thirsty - on the contrary, the initial two Kölsch eventually turned into 5 before we decided to head home some time after eating. We will come again. The waiter was funny, attentive and extremely helpful. The prices were very fair and the atmosphere was simply great!

Was here in the summer and sat on the terrace directly on the Spree. Beautiful location. Good service considering that the terrace was full. We had goulash which was very good and asked for a side of vegetables which weren't on the menu. They obliged without a problem.

If you are near Friedrichsstrasse, you should definitely visit the Permanent Representation. Good beer, delicious food and great ambience!

Very busy restaurant with great traditional food, and some very nice beers. Currywurst was excellent, and the atmosphere was very friendly.

Reservation taken for 9 including a comment left saying that there would be 16. Not read by the restaurants. So there are 16 of us outside without reservations. We would have had to make two reservations but we would be separated.. Be careful when booking online!

Great place for a good breakfast before heading into the city. Lovely terrace next to the Spree. Perfect for the summer. Moreover, right next to the S-bahn.

I lived in Berlin for about 5 years and didn't even know this place existed, but I heard it was famous so I went there. But this place was very scary. In Germany, tipping is not mandatory, but if you expect it and don't tip, you either ask for it outright, or secretly add it to your order, thinking that drunk customers won't notice. Our group also experienced this yesterday, and according to an acquaintance who has been there before, it is always like this at this place. I saw Koreans there too when they went there, so I wish Koreans wouldn't go there and be treated like huts. The atmosphere isn't great because it's noisy, and the food or beer here isn't that great. Even though our table all tipped separately, the foreign manager secretly added 5 drinks to the table and told us that they were right and that he could never be wrong. Why is this correct? ? Haha, the police say don't fight over what little you have and just pay the money. So, since we were paying for what we didn't drink, they said they would split the bill into 10 people, but they refused at first. Haha. They also lied and said that according to the system, it is per drink. Haha. When they tell us to give a tip, they tell us to input the amount carefully and enter the money into the card reader. You can just type it in, but it's annoying, so I lied. At first, I said that each person had to pay for all 5 drinks. But I thought I'd worked at a restaurant before. This person is the manager, and just looking at this behavior makes me 5 drinks. It's clearly a lie. He wasn't rude and his pronunciation in English and German was terrible, so communication was honestly difficult. It is recommended that the owner hire another manager who will speak clearly if he/she has an idea. The service at a German restaurant is a mess, but in my long life, I've never seen a place that operates so recklessly. If I report this review as a fake account and hide it from view, I will also attach the receipt I wrote yesterday (about 45 euros for the money I spent alone). Let’s make money while taking care of our conscience. ㅡㅡ

Great German cocona restaurant.

It's a bit far from a dignified star restaurant, but 5 stars in the pub category for Rhenish specialties are justified. It's always hard to find something going on there, but if you don't mind the hustle and bustle, then you're in perfect hands.

Incredibly unfriendly employees. From the first word he just bluffed and complained. But it doesn't seem to be the only one in this store if you look at the other reviews and sometimes stupid answers from the StäV here on Google. As Kölsch as Union Berlin. EDIT: The restaurant is currently trying to have my review deleted. After 5 years it accuses me of never having visited it. Some bad reviews must have been deleted... EDIT 2: A year later the next deletion attempt 🫠

You pay for atmosphere, food a shared menu, 90 euros for nearly nothing special. Place is really nice.

We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere at this restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was fun to have food and beer from the Rheinland in central Berlin! The Kölsch was excellent, at the ideal temperature.

Great service Quickly and quickly

I placed a review on this place in 2023, having received incredibly bad and somewhat abusive service witnessed by other members of a group. We had been here for the third time as the food and location were good. I was issued with a takedown notice as were a host of other people over 12 months later, all of us had left bad reviews for bad service. I proved my presence at this place to justify the review remaining. Now another six months or so later I’ve received contact that review has been listed as ‘not posted’ on the basis it violated guidelines. It is unreasonable and surely an abuse of guidelines for businesses to use takedown notices to remove legitimate reviews simply because they do not like them. If this review is again taken down, I will repost the same on a new account again. Instead of removing legitimate reviews, can I suggest that you instead learn from the feedback and correct the issues, rather than hiding from it. I have added photographs of the previous review, the email I received AND a photo taken during my visit demonstrating that I was in fact there.

Nice atmosphere with lots of tourists. The food is average, the portions, apart from the pork knuckle, are quite small. Unfortunately, the service that day was quite unfriendly and you got the impression that it wasn't about a nice experience but just about sales. The recession was more critical before, but the company seems to be okay with offering mediocre food and service, although it is vehemently against mediocre reviews.

It was pleasing to be a guest at the StäV again. The slightly higher prices, for example 70 cents for the mustard, do not justify deducting points from me given the pleasant stay, the excellent ambience and the friendly, courteous service. For me, the StäV remains an indispensable part of a visit to Berlin.

I had booked a table but have now canceled it. The reason wasn't the ambience or the food. I think that's really great. Have also been here occasionally with friends. Unfortunately, a stay of more than 90 minutes is not necessarily recommended here. Since I only meet up with friends once a month, I don't want to have to start running again straight away. We would rather move our meeting to another location. I write all of this with an understanding of the STÄV's approach. I just think it's a shame because there's everything you need for a great evening with friends. I still go here to eat ;-) .

A good idea if you want to go to the Friedrichstadtpalast. About 500 m walk, very tasty food in an interesting location A bit noisy, you sit at long tables, you have to know, it didn't bother us. The food was great. The tarte flambée was awesome.

The food was very tasty. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is no longer right at all (2 bratwursts with fried potatoes and sauerkraut €18, currywurst with fries €14). Our waiter was extremely slow, after 20 minutes we had our first Kölsch. I think we'll find better alternatives next time we visit Berlin. We made reservations at the StäV because we had very good experiences a few years ago.

We ordered a plate of cold cuts for 2 people, 40 euros for a small plate? I think it's too much We were served by a young man with blond hair, everything was brought quickly. Delicious beer. When the bill was brought, the waiter explained the tip system (you can leave it through the terminal) and entered the amount of 10 euros himself, pretending that he did not understand and offered to pay by card, to which I replied that the amount was too high and they changed it. In your restaurant, do the waiters choose how much they want to tip? For me, this is the first time in such a situation that I am put in an awkward position. This seemed like a ploy for tourists in your city. Dear administration, have a conversation with your employees and then people themselves will leave more tips.

Superb experience in East Germany, tasty dishes (stuffed cabbage, mash, veal liver) in a setting full of history with floor to ceiling photos/paintings of international personalities who have passed through this restaurant. To do!

We got a table immediately. The food came fairly timely, but the prices are a bit excessive for the amount of food on the plate. Example: Currywurst with fries costs a whopping €16... I would have expected a little more for that price...

Es beginnt schon bei der Reservierung: das macht man im Internet, man kommt und das Personal weiß davon nichts. Kein Restaurant, eher Bahnhof-Cafe oder Pizzeria für schnelles Essen (dafür braucht man auch keine Reservierung). Lange, dreckige Tische, die Halle genau so, Personal kann sich nicht richtig benehmen, es kommen 3-4 Kellner/innen zu einem Tisch, man weiß nicht wer dich bedient, zumal laufen sie wie verrückt und stoßen einander und die Gäste. Auf der Speisekarte angebotenes Hauswein gibt es nicht. Preise: Gulasch mit Nudeln (wahrscheinlich eine Stunde gekocht) 20€ eine Portion - na ja... In der Männertoilette funktionieren nur Pissoire, sauber ist es auch nicht. Die berühmten Politiker (Fotos an den Wänden), wenn Sie überhaupt da waren, haben es nur gemacht um zu zeigen, dass sie dem Volk nah stehen, das ist doch lächerlich. Der Laden ist absolut nicht zu empfehlen. It all starts when you make a reservation: it’s done on the Internet, you come, and the staff doesn’t know anything about it. I don't recommend it to anyone.
