Restaurant Lorbeer in Berlin

The gnocchi was good, the venison goulash was ok, the Brussels sprouts lacked a bit of flavor. It could have been presented a little nicer, for example the cranberries in a separate bowl. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was ok. The price seemed a bit too high for what we received. Unfortunately, payment is only possible in cash, which I don't understand in a restaurant with this price range. Therefore we will no longer visit the restaurant.

Everything perfect. Good food, attentive service, good location and great atmosphere. The waiter was really great. Super recommended.

Clearly not recommended! The waiter is on the phone the whole time and shouts in Arabic! The food took forever even though it wasn't even full, the menu was boring and the food tasted bland.

The food isn’t good. It tastes reheated. I would recommend going to Osmans Tochter across the road instead of you can. This was my least favorite meal in Berlin. It took very long, and they pay for good reviews/write their own reviews.

The best gnocchi I've ever eaten! The food is generally really delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and the acoustics are very pleasant. The employees are courteous, friendly and helpful. Really very nice :) I always enjoy coming here!

Very expensive for what they offer. Regular food with very high prices. Doesn't seem like an authentic german restaurant. Some of the 5 star ratings here seem doubtful.

Food is ok, but expensive. Doesn't really worth the price. Staff is nice and the ambiance is pleasant. However I don't think this should be considered a traditional German restaurant at all (no pork, for example).

Somehow everything is more appearance than reality. The prices need to be improved somewhat.

We ate there for the first time today on New Year's Eve and were incredibly disappointed. The food was a disgrace, we ordered the goulash for about 26 euros and it was inedible, the meat was very dry in a very bizarre way and the sauce tasted very strange and was almost inedible, but... There was hardly any “happiness” involved anyway. I don't think I've ever eaten goulash as chewy in my life as I did at Laurel. There was also spaetzle that tasted like it came from the microwave. We were supposed to have pumpkin with it but we got Brussels sprouts. We weren't told that at all, we were just told it like that. The food itself was only lukewarm. We also had half a duck, but I don't know where it went. There were only two slices on the plate. The plates looked dirty and a piece of the plate with the goulash had broken off. The dishes were very scratched and I don't think they had ever been polished. The desserts were also very strange, we had crème brûlée with a baked apple. The baked apple was small cold apple squares in a bowl. It was probably only ⅛ of an apple. The meal cost several hundred euros for four people and yet we were asked to go to the other side of the street because the card reader wouldn't work...

Very nice place, we went there for Christmas party and enjoy it a lot. The cocktails were made creatively, just amazing:)

Incredibly delicious. Here we cook and serve with love. The menu offers delicious dishes and it wasn't easy for me to choose. For me I had the country duck with spaetzle (a special request from me) instead of the dumplings and a really tasty red cabbage apple. The duck was so tender and good tasting. The service was also more than friendly. We felt very comfortable. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. Thanks! Looking forward to next time.

Absolutely 💯 one of my favorite restaurants. Go there with my man at least 3 times in a month. Amazing service, which I don’t see so often in Germany. Food is just impeccable! And prices are more than reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! ☺️

I had a wonderful evening in the restaurant and can only recommend it. The red wine was excellent and went perfectly with the venison goulash, which was to die for! The meat was tender, the sauce full-bodied and very tasty – a real highlight of the evening. The combination of good wine and excellent food made the experience unforgettable. The food was bearable, the service was a nightmare. After waiting for the main dish for over an hour and asking the waiter about it, we got SCREAMED AT and gaslighted into thinking that we are the issue and that the restaurant if full (it wasn’t full tho). Never seen this level of aggression in a restaurant. Save yourself from stress and go elsewhere, there are better restaurants in Berlin.

The food came extremely slowly. From the time we ordered until we could finally eat, we waited over an hour. When we asked the staff about the situation, a waiter (white T-shirt, black beard, baseball cap worn backwards) pointed to our table and said loudly: “You ate appetizers earlier. The waiting time after the starters is 50 minutes, not an hour. You have to respect us and not insult us.” That was extremely annoying and outrageous. Instead of apologizing, the waiter lectured us?!?!! At the end, the manager did offer two desserts as an apology, but the desserts were bad - the cake (sponge) was full of water, like a thawed, soggy cake from the fridge.

Ordered a table quickly and easily via the website. Attentive and friendly staff. Receive the menu straight away, a free small snack beforehand = nice gesture. Didn't wait long. Special request for potatoes instead of spaetzle, no problem. Deer meat very tender: delicious! Good value for money! Gladly again.

My visit to Restaurant Lorbeer was absolutely great! The food was outstanding - every dish was cooked to perfection and the ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality. What was particularly impressive was how well the flavors harmonized with each other. The staff was also incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made the overall experience even more enjoyable. Although we found the portions a bit on the smaller side, the flavour was phenomenal! Absolutely delicious schnitzel and gnocchi. The beetroot gnocchi was filled with a cream cheese, something I would definitely go back for. Service is so friendly and nice, we were really happy with that too. I would consider this one of the best veal schnitzels in berlin.

Anlässlich einer Familienfeier haben wir uns am vergangenen Samstag bewusst für das Restaurant Lorbeer entschieden. Der Service ist ausgezeichnet, hier trifft man auf nette und freundliche Bedienung. Das Essen war wirklich großartig, schmackhaft – wirklich etwas Besonderes. Leider haben wir vergessen schöne Fotos zu machen, aber ehrlich, die braucht man bei dem Essen nicht, es würde dem Geschmack nicht gerecht werden. Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert!

Great German restaurant. A friend and I ate there for the first time today and were very happy with the food. Ordered Viennese veal schnitzel. It was well prepared, ingredients fresh and tidy and a fair portion. The atmosphere is beautifully decorated and the staff is very nice and attentive

Asparagus was good. The eistees were quite strong in flavour. I liked it but some might feel it's too strong. Staff was friendly and spoke English as well.

After a few years I went to the Lorbeer again and was quite disappointed. The quality of the food is definitely not the same anymore. The schnitzel and the side salad themselves were quite okay. However, the cranberry sauce was definitely not homemade and was strangely placed under the schnitzel. The underside of the actually crispy schnitzel was soggy and everything tasted like canned cranberry sauce. The potato salad also tasted way too much like mustard and the potatoes in it weren't fresh. The bread that was served beforehand was also soggy and not fresh and the espresso was bitter. Unfortunately we won't be coming back, even though the service was courteous and nice.

Somehow quite ok. There wasn't really anything to complain about, service was very friendly. But the food itself was just nothing special, a bit flat and uninspired. The beer should be colder and the remix music doesn't necessarily help the atmosphere.

I went out for a chilled meal for my birthday and fancied something sweet. On our walk home we stumbled across this place. We asked if we could come in for dessert only. I’m so bloody glad we did, because oh my days…we paid 20 euros for the 2 person dessert sharing plate. God almighty was it delicious. It comes with a crème brûlée (that is burnt at the table), a chocolate mousse,biscuit mousse (one each) on a cherry compote. The best dessert in Berlin so far for me. I’m a Brit with a deadly sweet tooth 🦷! I will be baaaaack!

The food was not that great overall. The risotto was made with parboiled rice, not proper risotto rice, so the result is a mushy dish that should not be called risotto, especially since the amount of asparagus in it was ridiculous, 5 or 6 small pieces. For 17 euros, this is not good enough. The beetroot gnocchis were quite good though. Please note this is a cash only place and they close at 10 pm.

Sehr sympathische Gastgeber, guter Service und richtig leckeres Essen … man muss ein „paar Minuten“ Zeit mitbringen, dafür ist alles frisch und gefühlt mit Liebe zubereitet!

Very delicious modern German food in a cozy atmosphere

Wir haben hier einen Geburtstag gefeiert in einer großen Runde und hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. Das Essen war gut und lecker, aber das beste war der Service - sehr aufmerksam. Also eine klare Weiterempfehlung!

Hab hier meinen Geburtstag nachgefeiert und war vom Essen, Service und der gemütlichen Atmosphäre einfach nur begeistert. Weiter so!

Firmenweihnachtsfeier Personal sehr nett, nettes Ambiente, jeder Cocktail/Spritz nur der pure Zucker kaum Alkohol enthalten. Der Wildgulasch geschmacklos, Rosenkohl aus der Tiefkühlung war hart ohne pep und die Spätlle gummiähnlich. Danke . Gehobene deutsche Küche ist das nicht.

Ganz ehrlich: es war in meinen Augen eben genau das: Mittelmaß. Die Auswahl der Gerichte ist schon eher eingeschränkt. Das Essen klingt auf der Karte toll und als wäre es was besonderes, auf das ich dann auch gehofft habe, aber es war dann schlicht weg nicht mehr als nur ok. Genau so die Getränke wie die Limonaden, klangen toll, war aber auch nichts besonderes. Dafür aber die Preise durchaus im gehobenen Bereich. Kann man also mal machen, muss ich aber auch nicht wieder haben.

War okay, kann man machen, muss man nicht. Extrem netter Kellner. Crème Brûlée war flockig. Suppe ebenfalls. Hauptgänge waren gut.

Hier wurden wir noch nie enttäuscht.

Sehr freundliche Bedienung und das Essen war wirklich gut, Schnitzel knusprig und die Ente ausgelöst und handwerklich gut , insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden

We hebben hier met ons gezin (drie kinderen) echt heel lekker gegeten. De kwaliteit verraste ons positief. Zowel de vegetarische gerechten als de goulash en schnitzel waten heerlijk. Zelfs de eigengemaakte hummus met aubergine bij het brood als starter was echt heel goed, net als de rode bietencompote. Bediening ook heel vriendelijk.

Food was ok, a bit overpriced, but the waiter, guy with the beard, spoiled the experience. He did not write anything down when we ordered. We waited a long time before getting anything. Then the waiter had forgotten 1 portion. Then it came, in 7 minutes, not "in 2minutes" - with a wrong side dish. We complained. They eventually brought the right side dish, and charged for it in the end. We complained again, and then the waiter got mad. Never again - and I recommend that to all of you thinking about eating there.

Ich war zum 2. mal hier und finde das größte Plus ist der enorm aufmerksame Service. Die Kellner sind einfach außergewöhnlich gut für Berliner Verhältnisse (5 von 5). Das Essen ist auch echt gut (4,5 von 5). Ich komme gerne wieder!

Gemütliches Restaurant mit sehr gutem Essen, tollem Service und moderaten Preisen. Dazu eine eigene Biermarke. Gerne wieder.

Food very good, a lovely place for a catch up

Bin gerade zusammen mit meiner Familie vorbei gelaufen. Draußen saßen zwei Angestellte (blonde,ältere Frau und ein Mann, dunkle Haare) rauchend vor dem Restaurant (Restaurant hatte entweder noch geschlossen oder dort war einfach nichts los). Leider weiß ich nicht warum, aber die Frau hat sich über mich lustig gemacht und gelästert. Da wir nur Fußgänger waren und im Vorbeilaufen die Karte begutachtet haben, waren wir alle 4 sehr irritiert. Mein Bruder hat der "Dame" noch einen genervten Blick zugeworfen. Gemerkt hat sie trotzdem nichts. Aus dem Vorhaben, das Restaurant mal zu testen, wird also definitiv nichts. Werden es meiden und einen großen Bogen drum' machen. Da wir in der Nachbarschaft wohnen, wird diese Information sicher nicht nur bei uns bleiben :) haben Sie also alles richtig gemacht- wenn's um das Gewinnen neuer Gäste geht. Wie solche Menschen im Service/ in der Gastro arbeiten, bleibt uns ein Rätsel. Kennen wir anders.

Außerordentlich gut! Faire Preise, vorzügliches Essen, gutes Bier, freundlicher und schneller Service.
