Delicious food and super nice service

Ate here because it was nearish the hotel we were staying in. Despite intending to spend a lot on food and drinks in the restaurant, it got off to a bad start with the staff not allowing us to have tap water and insisted we buy water - pretty sure this is against the law..? But anyway we carried on with ordering our meal and other drinks. The food was nice but the portions were far too huge for children and for myself - a petite lady, so in hindsight we should have ordered only 2 meals instead of 4, and it could have been nice if the waiter advised on this. It was good value for money and tasted fine, so it was just a shame to generate food waste. A little cheeky after all this for the waiter to ask for a tip and then only after that for us to discover Amex isn’t accepted.

With over twenty different Wiener schnitzels, Restaurant Elefant stands out. Good hearty dishes and nice portion sizes. Here you will definitely find a Wiener schnitzel to your taste. The food is simple but tasty. There are often many people here, so it is a good idea to book a table.

One of the worst schnitzels I have had. It used to be good in the past, but no longer, sadly. Service was friendly but poor. It took 45 min to get the food.

Schnitzel was good and the portion was also decent. Fried potatoes weren't so convincing. Side salad wasn't the freshest and dressing was standard. The bill took 15 minutes even though 2 waitresses said it would come soon.

What a fantastic restaurant! I absolutely loved the schnitzel—it was perfectly crispy and flavorful. They offer so many different varieties, it's hard to choose just one. They also have a range of specialties from Berlin that I haven't tried yet, but they look amazing. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of the menu. Highly recommend!

An Eldorado of down-to-earth, authentic Berlin cuisine: here the connoisseur's heart smiles with potato soup, pork knuckle with pea puree, hare stew or Berlin liver. There is also a wide range of different schnitzels. The quality is excellent, the portions are large, the prices are fair. Very, very nice service crew. This restaurant is also highly recommended to heterosexuals.

We stopped by Elefant during the buzz of LesBiSchwule Stadfest. My partner had reserved a table for us, but the reservation was marked nowhere by the staff. Fortunately a table was procured for us still. For food we ordered Hawaiian Schnitzel and Spaghetti bolognese. Both dishes lacked flavor. The pasta in particular had no taste at all. Tragicomically the schnitzel came with a single sliver of paprika as the ”salad portion”. The size had gone down from the past years by far. We mentioned the low quality of the food for the waitress who came to pick up the dishes. This lead to every waiter avoiding eyecontact with us and we eventually had to wait for nearly half an hour before a second waiter came around and finally the bill as well. Naturally it was a very busy time for the restaurant, but it doesn’t excuse the lack of flavor nor blunt customer service. All in all there was very little positive to be had here aside for the location. Oh and Fanta was the highlight of the feast.

Ended up there on the recommendation of the hotel. Delicious food, tough waitress with a Berlin snout, great team with a great boss. We had a really fun evening. Kind regards Esmeralda 🤩

Service was a disaster. The starter came with the main course, although it was confirmed beforehand that the starter should come first. Then the sauce was missing for the starter. Although we asked for the sauce three times, the sauce only came when the starter was almost eaten, otherwise it would have gotten cold. The salads that went with the schnitzel only came when we were almost finished with the schnitzel, which was quite salty. One schnitzel was on the menu with fries and ketchup was ordered with it. Ketchup only came after repeated requests and was charged extra. A waiter said that there was so much to do, so everything was a bit of a mess. Even though there was supposedly so much to do, the service often stood outside on the sidewalk and smoked. No recommendation!

There is Schnitzel of all kinds and they are very good. The service has its lights and shadows. There are some very nice waiters and others who threw things at us. Something very curious. We went twice. The first day they served us super fast, the second day it took them a long time although we must admit that we arrived late. They speak enough English to order without problems for those who don't speak German. Would I go back? I guess so. Although I wouldn't go expressly either. Only if it stays close to me in the area.

The food was delicious, the surroundings were special, the baguette was a bit meager, but the schnitzel more than made up for it. The advice would be to combine this with cranberry sauce, but I leave that to the staff!

Excellent place if you like traditional Berlin/German food. I loved the liver Berlin style and the accompanying Spanish wine the kind waitress recommended. Prices are moderate and good location steps away from Wittenbergplatz so in good location. Service is very good

Good value for money for generous German cuisine that is finer than you might imagine. Menu in English, dish for small appetites which are also suitable for those who want to eat less heavy with a starter and main course. Among the Schnitzel I recommend the Swiss version with mushrooms in sauce and gratinated cheese. The best would have been morels rather than button mushrooms! The pork shank is of good quality and especially well accompanied by vegetables in the meat juice. Slightly expensive beer

Very friendly waiters and help with whatever you need

We ate a Wiener-style and Jäger-style schnitzel. The schnitzels were both very tender and juicy. As a side dish there were croquettes and fries, which were nice and crispy. There was also a great small mixed salad with yogurt dressing. There was a baguette with cream cheese on the house. Unfortunately there is no children's chair.

Schnitzel is simply delicious. I'm hungry, so I'll have a snack with beer!

Found this place while looking for some proper schnitzel. I have to say this place did not dissapoint at all, we went for schnitzels with cheese topping and fries. The prices were decent, we paid around 20 euros for the plate and for german beer

The portions are huge and well-presented; you can even swap fries for a salad! ☕ The coffee was also very tasty. Special shout out to the waitstaff who served us with big smiles and great kindness. We visited on a lovely day, so grabbing a table on the terrace was definitely the best choice! Came with my partner and we had a wonderful time, it was quiet enough to have a good conversation. 5 stars for several years and only one star since May 11, 2024, around 8:30 p.m. Very crowded, so well attended. They also did a lot of word-of-mouth advertising. Ambience outside is a disaster! Too many tables and therefore too narrow. When someone gets up, the other chair is banged quite violently. Waiting over an hour for a meal is a bit too long. Behind me, guests arrived 30 minutes later and received their food after about 20 minutes. When asked, they said it was a bit of a mess today, but no excuses. Even when paying, no apology or even an offer of an aperitif. Although prices have risen sharply in the last two years, even children's sweets are left out after paying. For a mini bowl of ketchup 80 cents. Drinks only in a 0.2 or 0.4l glass. The schnitzel was simply not edible. There was a soft, unpleasant mass in the marinade, unusual as a schnitzel, it was stringy and tough. Conclusion: It looks like a Katine and tastes like one too. The overcrowded restaurant (which makes it very loud) is just annoying. It's a shame guys, with mass processing your quality is dwindling!

Dear team, we ordered a table for our meal after the wedding on May 10, 2024. When we arrived I was so touched because everyone put so much effort into it and the board looked amazing. It was decorated and set with so much love. Such a beautifully decorated board and even heart balloons on the wall. Many thanks again to the entire team. The food was great. From grilled dishes to liver to schnitzel with asparagus. Everything was delicious and served by such a friendly team. Thank you that our most beautiful day came to such a beautiful end with you. Highly recommended and we would love to come back.

Helt specielt sted , servere kun Schnitzler i et væld af afskygninger , både med gris eller kalv. Der ud over gode tyske solide retter knødel lever osv . Her er altid prob fyldt , så bestil bord . Maden er fantastisk og portionerne er store så pas på med og bestille flere retter af gangen , men vil dog sige prøv deres ungarske gullash suppe som at være i Budapest krydret godt med kød . Så lille forret og hovedret dertil godt med øl , bedre kan det ikke blive

I took my friend out for a Birthday meal . We both ordered Schnitzel . When the food arrived clearly it looked overcooked to the point of being burnt ....both the chips and the schnitzel . I struggled to eat mine ...parts I just could not eat . The food looked like it had been recooked leftovers ...it was disgusting .. I will never be back here ....clearly it's overrated and I would question some of the reviews here as we looked at other people's food and we were not impressed . I had to give it a one ....as zero was not an alternative . The imbiss directly across the road is far superior ...

A traditional German restaurant in the middle of the gaybor-hood. Average prices. Descent food. Friendly waiters. In the summer zu Folsom, it I practical because it is dead smack in the middle of the whole street fair.

Came here as a walk in and it looked reasonably busy but we got a table. Service a bit too slow, we did have to wait fairly long between ordering and food being brought out, also felt like you had to chase the final bill and dessert menu a bit, but it was very friendly so only a small mark off. The goulash was great, potato dumplings so good for mopping up sauce! We shared the apple strudel and this was only OK. They have a big selection of schnitzel I would be interested to come back and try again. Nice place overall

It's a place we went to upon recommendation to taste German food. There are various German delicacies on the menu. Prices are a little higher than normal, but the portions are very large and extremely filling. The food is very delicious and the presentations are successful. They offered us a small treat before the meal. The place is a little small but sufficient. Not suitable for large groups. Maximum 6 people can eat at the same table.

We have now visited Berlin a few times. The highlight is always a visit to the elephant on the last evening. As always, the food was perfect, the service was very, very friendly. We would be happy to come back on our next visit. I'll just keep writing. It is April 2024. Once again the elephant visit marks the end of our Berlin trip. The food was again great, the service was again ultimately nice.... We are already looking forward to the next time in Berlin, which also means an elephant visit.

Schnitzels were really good. Servers was German style, strict and polite. They helped with pronunciation of German. Nice place to go to.

I sat outside on Friday and all the tables were occupied. Nevertheless, the operation worked perfectly. There was a lot of staff there who kept an eye on everything. Even if you spoke to a waiter who was responsible for another sector, the order was taken and passed on. This is a rarity in Berlin. The boiled dumplings were the best I've eaten in a long time. Wonderfully crumbly and with a very tasty sauce. Only with the potatoes, there could have been one more. This time 5 out of 5 possible stars.
