Café Luftsprung in Nürnberg

It's about time I gave my favorite restaurant in Nuremberg 5 stars. I simply love coming back here: the staff are always very friendly and attentive, making sure everything is perfect. The food has been excellent every single time, and the portions are generous. The salads have gotten a bit more expensive, but every dish is worth the price. I highly recommend the schnitzel! I always feel incredibly comfortable here, so it's an absolutely fantastic place to go in Nuremberg.

We've been there off and on for many years, but as it happened on September 29th. ran must be mentioned. As a small group, we reserved the largest table at the top and were served by Eldar. What an exceptionally nice, polite and friendly young man! With the patience of an angel, he raced up the stairs with gusto for the 100th time. Such a commitment must definitely be praised. We would like to hold our regulars' table there more often and ideally only be served by him. Thanks for the lovely evening!

I've been to Luftsprung a few times now, and I can only say one thing about my experience there: "Top." There are no other words to describe it: outstanding service, great food, and perfect drinks. Everyone is greeted with a welcoming manner, and the staff there are accommodating to every request. My recommendation in Nuremberg, Luftsprung!!!

One of the best bars/restaurants in Nuremberg. The drinks are more than just reasonable for Nuremberg standards, and they're also very tasty. The food is equally as good. The salads are highly recommended. €15-20 might seem a bit steep at first, but they taste really good and are very filling. So, in terms of value, they're also decent. The staff is also incredibly friendly. Top-notch! And the manager is great, too. I fully recommend them.

It's more of a mid-range bar, where they also serve food: cocktails are heavily diluted with ice, the menu is meager, there is a dish of the day, we had shashlik - a very free interpretation: the wrong meat, cooked incorrectly, served incorrectly...

The place is pleasant and quiet in the historic center, the food is excellent and plentiful, and the staff is friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

The Sunday roast was delicious—the meat was tender and the gravy was delicious. The service was also very friendly and prompt. Highly recommended.

I love the salads, even though they're a bit pricey at almost €20. Unfortunately, or thankfully, the tables are close together, which often leads to chatting with your neighbors. Everyone has to decide for themselves, but I like it...

I've always disagreed with the opinion that most German-speaking countries' food is so simple that it's worth paying for, but this place was different. I usually skip places recommended by tourists, thinking everything will be delicious since I'm here for fun, but this place was different. I ordered squid salad, Nuremberg sausage, and a local beer, and the food menu had a wonderful balance of flavors and ingredients. I've been drinking beer all my life, but I'm still not sure. People say Korean beer is mild, but in Germany, there were beers like that and others that weren't. I think this place alone is worth a visit to Nuremberg.

Overall, the food is good, with the salads being particularly outstanding – a definite recommendation. The service is attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The location is great, with indoor and outdoor seating. There is no parking. The price/performance ratio is okay!

Known for its excellent salads, but all its other dishes are also excellent. If you prefer meat, the beef shoulder is excellent. Very friendly and attentive staff. A reservation is always a good idea in the evening! Our #1 when we're in Nuremberg and going out to eat!

The food was terrible. The fish and vegetables were supposed to be grilled, but they came swimming in oil. The waitress was extremely stressed and overworked.

Very delicious food, highly recommended! Got a table even at short notice. 🔝 Top Update from May 17, 2025: Today was a mess. Reservations were apparently not possible, so we were told to just drop by. When we got there, there were reservation signs scattered around the tables... When we ordered, instead of the blackcurrant spritzer we ordered, we got apple juice spritzer. The explanation was "We don't have blackcurrant spritzer." Why weren't we made aware of this? We ordered the daily special, and the portion was very meager (2 small sausages and a bit of asparagus salad for just under €20). Card payments are only accepted for €20 or more.

Apple Pay only available for orders over €40... Customer service will look different to me in 2025! EDIT: No, there's no confusion here. Payments with Mastercard Debit via Apple Pay were denied for amounts under €40 (or was it even €50). Only payment with Girocard would have been possible for amounts over €20. It's just a shame that more and more people, especially younger ones, no longer have them... And instead of losing customers and making no sales at all (myself included) is probably more profitable than paying card fees and simply factoring them into the prices? The fact that the usefulness of this is being strongly questioned doesn't even require arguing with other countries, where every stick of gum at the most remote kiosk can be paid for with a credit card. No, you don't even have to leave the city of Nuremberg for that... Nowadays, all kinds of kebab shops accept card payments with no minimum spend and have even been enjoying increasing sales ever since! It's strange that it works here but not in a restaurant of this size!

Wir waren am Sonntag Mittag dort. Es war angenehm ruhig besucht, wir hatten die Möglichkeit uns einen schönen Platz auszusuchen. Die Sonntagskarte bietet alles, was man sich wünschen kann. Essen ging super schnell, Bedienung war sehr nett. Ein tolles Erlebnis

The service was consistently very friendly and attentive. The menu offers quite a large selection, so there is something for everyone. The dishes are attractively presented and look really good - the taste was solid, although not a culinary highlight. What's particularly nice is that you can sit here and relax, both indoors and outdoors. Ideal for a cozy evening with friends or as a couple. Overall it's good value for money - not an insider tip, but definitely worth a visit.

Super nice but why is everyone begging for cash here? Cash transactions are much more expensive for the entrepreneur than card payments. And perhaps if you look at the different providers for card payments, then you wouldn't pay so much per transaction. If you don't move with the times, you move with the times ;)

It's actually a good café, but if you pay 12,000 euros for card payments you'll have to deal with it again. That's also possible flat rate for 299 euros.

Delicious! Even though it was so full, the service was really nice and friendly and kept asking if everything was OK with us. If we were there in the winter, it was a little warm in there, but it was perfect for the cold season! Everything went great

Allegedly pays €12,000 in fees for card payments and therefore does not accept card payments under €20. What a cheese, it's all about not paying taxes. It's time for appropriate cash register systems and receipt requirements (preferably digital)

The fees for card payments are totally low. Ridiculous to allow yourself to be interviewed by a newspaper and spread any lies. There is no reason for any ridiculous minimum amounts of 20 euros, for example, if you get the right provider. Best regards

Asks for cash payment and complains in the press about high costs. Should guests also bring a jacket and warm blanket? Then you can also save on heating.

The Luftsprung coffee bar in Nuremberg offers a pleasant atmosphere that, although not outstanding, is definitely cozy. The grilled tubes were okay, well seasoned, but not grilled intensely enough for my taste. The raspberry mint spritzer was very tasty and refreshing. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the visit enjoyable. The Luftsprung coffee bar is a nice place for a relaxing break.

Were in Nuremberg this weekend and happened to find this very cozy place on Saturday. We ended the evening with a few drinks there. Despite the well-filled restaurant, the service was very good, quick and very nice. Since we had already booked a table at another restaurant for Sunday, we didn't have any information about the food, but we went back anyway to end the day in Nuremberg comfortably. If you want to eat/drink something in a cozy atmosphere and good service, you should definitely give this place a chance

The Luftsprung restaurant in Nuremberg offers a welcoming atmosphere and a varied menu. The baked potatoes with shrimp are particularly recommended, as they impress with their perfect combination of tender shrimp and hearty potatoes. The attentive service and the cozy atmosphere make the visit a completely successful experience.

The potato dumplings were quite good, but the price was steep for the relatively small portion. Can only speak for vegan and vegetarian dishes. Unfortunately, the fries were very soft and tasteless. The restaurant is cozy. Unfortunately we had to wait quite a long time for food (> 30 minutes)

This is a place I've been coming to every time I come to Nuremberg since 2015! The squid salad here is really delicious - (The original size is also generous) I wasn't completely hungry that day, so I ordered a smaller size for lunch and it was still delicious. I was even more satisfied because the server was friendly! Totally recommended.

I like to go there in a central location. Food is delicious and varied. Lots of small tables - ideal if you're traveling as a couple. However, when the restaurant is full, it is very loud.

Very nice restaurant and great service. However, the food didn't convince us. The venison ragout was swimming in sauce and was a bit chewy. The roast pork was too hard for me. But the friendliness of the boss and the staff was convincing and the criticism was accepted. Thanks!!!

A great find based on a random Google Maps search when were in the area. Portions were generous with good flavor. I was thrilled to find a long salad menu after several days of meat and carbs!

There were two of us doing the aerial jump and it was the first time for me. The menu is Franconian, but interpreted in a modern way in contrast to the classic breweries. The selection is so great that it took me a while to decide. The absolute tip for me: A schnitzel the size of an elephant ear with potato salad at an unbeatable price. However, I decided on a few potato wedges and a salad with fried vegetables. Both were super tasty. My companion chose the pumpkin soup and the glass noodle salad. The service was great and the ambience was timeless. I have already recommended you...great

Been coming here more often recently! Because I was traveling abroad for a long time on business. So far every starter and soup has been great in terms of taste and value for money! House rigatoni with mushrooms and minced meat… Super tasty, be careful, portions are large! Service is always friendly and helpful when you have questions! This is the second time I have visited the restaurant. The food was really great every time and the portions were very large. You will definitely be full. In summer you can sit outside nicely, the restaurant is not very modern inside but is typically German rustic. Price-performance ratio is very good! For dessert I ordered a brownie with ice cream. Unfortunately it was more like a cake, but it still tasted good.

Great restaurant. We've been there a few times now and we're always happy to come back. Our insider tip is the schnitzel and the lemonades. The waitress always has a smile on her face. Within an hour we finished eating and even had dessert. There are few places where the service is so good.

I've been going to the restaurant for a very long time. The food is always good and varied. I've never had a disappointment in terms of taste so far. I'm glad that the good taste never dropped. You constantly try to keep it right. The service and ambience is always good. Pleasant. My friends and families always look forward to coming there again.
