Alte Küch'n & Im Keller in Nürnberg

Este es un pequeño y lindo restaurante. Creo que había más lugareños que turistas. Cada uno tomó un vaso de Riesling seco. Mi esposa tenía el cerdo asado, que incluía una deliciosa salsa y grandes y ligeras tortitas de papa. Tenía el pavo, que se cortaba más como un filete que en rodajas, servido con patatas pequeñas y verduras. Ambos disfrutamos de nuestras comidas. La cena costó alrededor de $ 75 (convertido de euros).

We went to this restaurant for lunch at the weekend and had a very pleasant experience. The service is quick and the staff is extremely friendly. The food is really tasty and served quickly. It is advisable to reserve a table in advance as the restaurant is very popular, especially among tourists. Unfortunately there is hardly any parking available, so it is ideal to come on foot. Particularly noteworthy is the spacious reception room in the basement - perfect for celebrations or larger groups. A nice place to spend a leisurely afternoon and enjoy a good beer, especially with the special beers on tap. Highly recommended!

Excellent restaurant. The dishes (and desserts!) are excellent, for all those we were able to taste. On equivalents, they were much better than other reputable restaurants in town. Don't hesitate to stop here!

Chiamiamo nel pomeriggio per prenotare un tavolo per 5 persone, mi viene detto che non accettano prenotazioni e di presentarmi al momento. Ci presentiamo intorno le 8.30 e fortunatamente riusciamo a trovare un tavolo in meno di 10 min nella sala al piano terra. Il cameriere nel porgerci il menù ci mette a disposizione anche il suo cellulare per vedere le foto dei piatti in modo da farci un'idea su cosa ordinare. Ovviamente non potevamo non provare le salsicce di Norimberga, solo che impieghiamo quasi mezz'ora per prendere le ordinazioni in quanto nel mentre ha iniziato a diluviare e la terrazza esterna doveva essere liberata per permettere agli altri commensali di accedere alle sale interne. Dopo questo attimo di confusione, prendiamo finalmente le ordinazioni. Iniziamo con un antipasto di frittelle di patate con camembert e salsa ai mirtilli rossi che ho diviso con mio marito, molto buono devo dire. Proseguono gli altri ordini ma ne manca uno. Chiediamo spiegazioni al cameriere e ci rassicura dicendo che a breve sarebbe arrivato e nel frattempo la commensale poteva assaggiare dai piatti già serviti, sicuramente un modo pittoresco ma decisamente poco professionale visto che la cliente giustamente voleva mangiare ciò che aveva ordinato (carne con i funghi). Peccato che giunta la portata... La carne era cruda. Abbiamo chiesto spiegazioni e il cameriere prontamente fa portare indietro il piatto. Un vero peccato perché tutti gli altri piatti erano davvero buoni. Una volta superato l'empasse ordiniamo due dolci, strudel e frittelle di mela. Molto buoni. Il conto è venuto circa 35 euro a testa considerando due calici di vino, 4 birre, 6 portate principali, un'acqua, due dolci e un amaro. È sicuramente un locale caratteristico ma il servizio necessita di miglioramenti.

Great atmosphere, the food & drinks are delicious, the portions are large. Traditional specialties: homemade backers (potato pancakes), grilled sausages, Schäufele. We'd love to come back!

They ask to go into the basement......it's nice, well decorated, and they'll love the team of waiters. We were in the old kitchen. I can't say anything about the "basement" yet. The sausages were of very good quality. The Schäufele was also very tasty. The sauerkraut, however, needed a little more character. Unfortunately, that's why there's no fifth star, because that only comes with absolute perfection. And who is perfect anyway? If you want to eat delicious Franconian food and/or want to offer good Franconian cuisine to guests from outside, this is absolutely the right place for you. Very friendly and professional service. Thank you for that. Of course, the great location in the middle of the old town near St. Sebald's Church is particularly nice. We definitely have to try the knight's meal.

We went to a knight's dinner with 20 men in March 2025. Quantity and quality of food absolutely not satisfactory for €40 per person. The food neither tasted good nor did we feel full. You simply pay for the name and the flair here. The so-called Bard was also disappointing and we were expecting a little more entertainment. The only positive thing was the service and the ambience. Unfortunately not recommended.

Wir haben noch nie so schlecht gegessen. Meine zwei extrem dünnen Kalbsschnitzel schmeckten wie Pappe, der Kartoffel-/Gurkensalat kam wohl aus dem Eimer. Eine große Gruppe von Schülern traf ein und machte durch ihren Lärm die Unterhaltung unmöglich.

Nice restaurant with traditional German food. We expected the atmosphere to be more "medieval" but it had a beautiful decoration. The service was very prompt and polite and there was a lot of variety on the menu. However, the prices were high and the portions were not large.

Ambience and service are great. On our first visit to the cellar, the food was also good. On our second visit, this time to the Alte Küchn, we were unfortunately disappointed with the food. Unfortunately, the “Viennese veal schnitzel” had little to do with this. The meat was thick and tough and the breading was unfortunately neither airy nor even and brown. Not a good price-performance ratio for just under €27. With Schäufele, the meat was still firm and didn't fall off the bone on its own. In addition, both the schnitzel and the fried potatoes were very oily.

Never again. Absolute impudence. Ordered Schäuferla and in my opinion it was rather grubby. We were also offered sauerkraut. The big shock came with the bill. €5 for a small portion of sauerkraut. Outrageous, really. As if the sauerkraut was decorated with gold. I give a big anti recommendation. If you want an extremely poor price-performance ratio, this is the place for you. On July 27th, 2024 I had dinner with a friend in your restaurant, but I received an incorrect bill. We ordered 6 Nuremberg bratwursts, a pork knuckle, a Kellerbier on tap and a Pilsner on tap, but the bill shows something completely different. Since I was a little drunk, I didn't check the bill properly. On July 28, 2024 at 11 a.m. I went to your restaurant. The woman with blonde hair was very rude. She didn't want to help me and screamed. She gave me 6 business cards from the restaurant and said that I have to come on July 29th or call the restaurant. Since I had to go to Munich on July 29th and I'm traveling at the moment, I couldn't come by or call.

We had dinner in the Alte Küch'n restaurant. The Schäuferle and the knuckle were okay. Unfortunately, the pork medallions came in a very heavily salted and peppered sauce. The dessert was good. The service was partly friendly. The smell of toilet in the back of the restaurant was unpleasant. The ambience is pleasant with numerous historical accessories.

The food was very good! The service was very attentive, the waitress was the spirit of the place, making everyone feel at ease and ensuring a pleasant dinner. I had shrimp, large, well prepared. The house liquors are strong, but smell good and are tasty.

The cellar is harmoniously furnished and has its own flair. The Schäuferle was good and not too small, as is unfortunately increasingly the case in the city these days.
