Nice and fast service, delicious food

We had lunch/buffet at the inn, and it was simply delicious. A small, fine, home-style buffet with a delicious selection. A small salad buffet, a variety of familiar appetizers and desserts, reinterpreted in delightful presentations in tiny glass jars – deliciously appetizing! Various main courses such as chicken, tender, lean roast pork, fresh fish, various vegetable side dishes, and side dishes such as potato gratin, thick slices of fried bread dumplings, and more. Everything homemade, no convenience food! Refreshingly warm, friendly, attentive, and professional service! Thank you so much for that! Absolutely outstanding in this day and age! We'll be happy to come back to try the changing dishes on the main menu; the current Bavarian offerings are said to be very delicious. The vegan dishes deserve special mention; they have received high praise from others. Here, too, there's a changing selection of appetizers/main courses and dessert. The only downside: (unfortunately) due to the historic nature of the building, the restrooms are on the upper floor. New for the past four weeks (we had to try it right away): Herkenrath goes to Schloß Morsbroich (within walking distance) with a delightful café/bistro! It's in the castle park with an outdoor area and right in front of the castle! With homemade cakes, highly recommended (also vegan!), coffee specialties, beer, wines, aperitifs, and a small selection of dishes pre-prepared by the inn in jars, as well as two soups.

I definitely recommend it. Good quality food. Attentive service. Good, quiet location with its own beer garden.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Oktoberfest at the Herkenrather Hof. The Schlachtplatte (meat platter) was excellent! The service was friendly and attentive. The music could have been a bit more Bavarian, but that's forgivable. We'd love to come back again. We also visited the lunch buffet the other day. The starters were excellent, but the main courses could have been given a little more attention. We'll be back to try it again ;)

Reserved long in advance for a birthday party, a carelessly set table with sticky glass rims. The first server was snippy, followed by a nice young man who tried very hard to improve the bad impression. For the prices, you'd expect something different. Definitely not again... For the party, the train station would have been just as comfortable. The quality of the food was okay. A tip for the kitchen: wash the lettuce better...

Today's event (Oktoberfest) started off very relaxed. Excellent service, delicious food. So far, so good. Now the DJ can come into play 😡 The music had nothing to do with the theme and was so loud that conversation was impossible. Too bad. It would have been a nice evening.

Creative, compelling, and beautifully prepared dishes are offered here. Everything is rounded off by a selection of drinks that leaves nothing to be desired. We'll be back. Keep up the good work!

Excellent restaurant. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff. There were four of us there, and we barely had to wait, even though it was quite busy.

We're regulars here. We usually order for pickup on Sundays. The service is simply perfect, right up to the food itself. The price/performance ratio is simply right. You can sit comfortably in the courtyard. During Carnival, this is the place we go every day. It's simply a wonderful place.

The service is always very friendly, and even when the restaurant is busy, the wait is relatively short. The food is very tasty. The kitchen uses regional ingredients. The price/performance ratio is good.

We had a spare ribs voucher on a Tuesday. We arrived 1:30 hours after opening. Lo and behold, on spare ribs day, they ran out of spare ribs after 1:30 hours. A bit sad and disappointing for such an establishment. Service was nice, but it's not our fault. We had to pay for our own drinks, despite the restaurant's mistake. No sign of goodwill. We'd rather go somewhere else next time.

Very good restaurant. Everything is perfect, although the price is a bit high, as the portions could be larger. But the quality of the food and service are top-notch!

First time eating there for a birthday. The welcome at the door was very cold. The table was full of crumbs and a piece of cutlery was missing. Ordered schnitzel with chanterelle mushrooms. Two schnitzels on the plate had very little sauce and five chanterelle mushrooms, both schnitzels stacked on top of each other. The second schnitzel therefore had no sauce. My father ordered a wheat beer. Unfortunately, it wasn't until the bill that we noticed it was a non-alcoholic beer. But we weren't asked beforehand. It could be better, but we won't go there again.

Four of us spontaneously stopped by for dinner today. A cozy beer garden...plenty of shade...absolutely excellent service. Everyone had something different to eat, and all the dishes were truly delicious (kudos to the kitchen) 😋...we'll definitely be back soon ☺️

The food was good (a bit expensive) but otherwise everything was OK.

I had a salad with goat cheese and fried potatoes. The salad was almost all leaves, nothing special, and the sauce was very oily. The fried potatoes were on top of the salad, which didn't make it any better. On top of that was a layer of thickly breaded, fried goat cheese. If I had eaten it all, I would have had stomach problems. I wouldn't recommend it!

Doesn't taste good!! The only thing that tastes good is the currywurst!! The crispy salad for 22.90 is unfair for such a small portion and tastes nothing. It's missing the dressing and ingredients listed on the menu.

For me, this is the perfect restaurant. Everything is just right here, and yes, you pay a little more for that. I had a schnitzel from the Eifel region of Germany with asparagus, hollandaise sauce, and potatoes. Absolutely delicious! And the service was top-notch in a wonderful atmosphere.

To be honest, the dining options in Schlebusch are quite limited and mostly simple. The Herkenrather Hof, however, is a must-visit in Schlebusch. In addition to the wonderful half-timbered ambiance, it offers a lovely courtyard that invites you to linger. I tasted the food in preparation to be able to give a fair assessment, but what I saw and tasted looked very appealing and tasted equally delicious. More reviews to follow after the next visit.

Rather disappointed. Average food and service, but rather high prices.

We dined on the terrace. It's a pleasant place to sit under large parasols. Unfortunately, some of the dishes were too salty. The waitress served a small compensation. Unfortunately, one of the waitresses was very unmotivated and just rolled her eyes when she didn't know which dishes the salads belonged to. Otherwise, she seemed disorganized and unfriendly, which is a shame.

We were at the Herkenrather Hof for a family birthday. After a brief moment of irritation with the service, things actually went quite well. That evening, the service could have easily brought two or three more rounds of drinks to the guests. For starters, we had a beef carpaccio; for the main course, we had oven-fresh leg of lamb with Provençal jus, oven-baked vegetables, and potato gratin (I absolutely recommend this dish!); and for dessert, a mini crème brûlée served in an espresso cup (I'm also attaching the sauerbraten and a comparison picture to the "regular" portion of crème brûlée). It's wonderful that something like this is offered. This won't be our last visit to the Herkenrather Hof. We'll be back. Thank you very much!

The staff was very unfriendly. Payment took an extremely long time. The staff was completely overwhelmed. I can't recommend it.

Highly recommended, top service, very tasty

Today we were at the Herkenrather Hof again. We live practically around the corner and the whole family with babies, children and grandparents can meet here. Today was grandma's birthday and we were able to enjoy very good food in a relaxed atmosphere. We had the Wiehbachquellsalat, Himmel und Äd, Jägerschnitzel, Sauerbraten and Wiener Schnitzel and everything was delicious and very attractively presented. The children's plate was presented particularly lovingly, which caused a lot of enthusiasm for our daughter. The homemade lemonades are highly recommended and also very nicely prepared. You also have the option of having some desserts in mini sizes, which were particularly well received by the seniors. 5 stars and always happy.

Gasthaus Herkenrath Hof in Leverkusen offers a truly satisfying dining experience. We began with their hausgebackene Spargelquiche mit Bärlauch-Creme, a delicious asparagus quiche paired with a creamy wild garlic sauce, and a fresh salad bouquet that added a light and vibrant touch to the meal. For the main course, the hausgemachte Rinderroulade mit Apfelrotkohl und Petersilienkartoffeln was a standout. The beef roulade was perfectly tender, complemented by tangy red cabbage and fluffy parsley potatoes, making for a rich and comforting dish. A great place to enjoy authentic German flavours!

Hospitality is lived here! Beautiful inn with delicious food, a good selection of drinks and, above all, friendly, attentive service. Good selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes - every pot will find its lid here! Dogs 🐕 are also welcome. Nice beer garden in the Inenhof. Uncomplicated reservation online.

The best vegan food that Cologne and the surrounding area has to offer. Fresh, refined, delicious and varied. The vegan menu changes almost weekly. The craftsmanship is so great and the plates are so wonderfully prepared and appetizing. And every single vegan dish (from starter to main course to dessert) tastes fantastic - here you are spoiled for choice. A big compliment and thank you for the wonderful vegan selection!

We were there for a birthday party and it was great! Service, ambience and food are simply great. The roulades that my parents had were generously filled and tasted great, and the portion with red cabbage and dumplings was a reasonable size. My menu, the baked potato filled with garlic quark, delicious spinach vegetables and the Argentinian rump steak fried to the minute, delicious. The Creme Bruleè at the end - simply sensational! Thank you for the excellent cuisine. We will stop by again on our next visit.

Zum zweiten mal waren wir essen in Herkenrath Hof. Ein Restaurant der extra Klasse in jeder Hinsicht. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist TOP! Hier ist alles stimmig: das Ambiente, eine hervorragende Küche und niemals ist Hektik zu spüren, auch wenn viel los ist. Wir haben noch nie so lecker vegan gegessen wie gestern. Hier fällt der professionelle Service sofort auf. Das Personal ist in 'old money style' angezogen, immer ansprechbar und sehr zuvorkommend. Die Etiquette wird eingehalten z.B. Der Kellner steht beim Einschenken immer hinter dem Gast (und nicht mal schnell über den Tisch ins nächste Glas einschenken), schenkt nicht zuviel oder zu wenig ein etc. Die Sauberkeit im Restaurant und die Hygiene auf der Toilette ist 100%. Also, sehr empfehlenswert.

An unforgettable evening at the Herkenrather Hof! We celebrated my wife's birthday at Herkenrather Hof and we absolutely loved the entire experience. The excellent service was evident right from the time we reserved a table: the team was extremely friendly, helpful and responded to all of our requests. In the evening itself everything was perfectly organized. The table was beautifully set and the atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and inviting. The service was attentive and pleasantly unobtrusive – exactly as you would expect. Our guests and we felt completely comfortable. The food was very good: every dish was freshly prepared, lovingly prepared and tasted to a high standard. The selection of drinks also left nothing to be desired. All in all, it was an unforgettable evening and we can fully recommend the Herkenrather Hof - be it for special occasions or a cozy evening for two. We went here for dinner on Boxing Day. There was a selection of dishes in advance that could be put together on a menu. Starter was perfectly fine! The main course was a Christmas goose. This was the absolute highlight for me. Super tasty, super juicy and beautifully cross on the outside. Praise to the chef. Unfortunately, the dumplings that came with it tasted like dough! The red cabbage had something in it that I didn't like. The dessert was delicious. I would eat there again and order everything kart!

We have been regular guests of the “Hof” for many years. We celebrated our wedding here, experienced several events and spent many wonderful hours here. Cozy, modern atmosphere, always friendly top team and of course simply great food. Whether classic cuisine, a modern interpretation or even vegan: the farm really offers something for everyone. A “no” or “unfortunately that’s not possible” you hardly ever hear it here. We feel warmly welcomed and excellently looked after every time. Was eating at the Herkenrather Hof today and there was a Christmas menu. The staff was super nice and as a precaution, unfortunately I was unlucky. My veal schnitzel wasn't good at all, it was dripping with fat and it probably ended up in the pan too early and the potato cucumber salad was very watery. The remaining food from the family. were good (steak and other things) and without complaints. The prices were of course slightly higher, but that's normal on a holiday like this and it's justified.

Very nice, stylish restaurant between rustic and modern. We had our own room for the family Christmas party. The service was very friendly and patient, for all matters. We all enjoyed the food very much. The selection offers something for all tastes. From good home cooking to fine cuisine, including vegetarian and vegan, everything is served in style. A feel-good place!

Iconic restaurant with a selection of good, fresh food. In the summer there is a wonderful inner courtyard and the 'speicherhaus' for family or company celebrations.

Updated 11/30/24 This evening we (two people) got a table at short notice and ate the goose breast and the goose leg. It was once again excellent!!!! Wir kommen immer wieder gerne in den Herkenrath Hof! Hier stimmt wirklich alles und ich kann tatsächlich keine der unten stehenden schlechten Bewertungen verstehen. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, was heutzutage wirklich nicht mehr selbstverständlich ist. Man fühlt sich willkommen und durchweg gut umsorgt. Das Essen ist klasse! Man kocht saisonal, dadurch ändern sich öfters die Gerichte und es kommt in der Speisekarte keine Langeweile auf. Aber auch in den „Standard“ Gerichten findet jeder etwas, das immer schmeckt! Man hat wirklich die Qual der Wahl. Auch gibt es vegane bzw. vegetarische Speisen, immer wieder neu durchdacht und geschmacklich einfach wahnsinnig gut umgesetzt!!! Auch fürs Auge. So hübsch angerichtet, gesund und farbenfroh. Ich bin ein großer Nachwürzfan, aber das braucht man hier garnicht, da man sich einfach viel zu sehr auf die immer neuen Geschmacksnuancen und Zusammensetzungen freut. Lob an die Küche! Auch getränketechnisch: Leckere Schorlen, Cocktails und für mich als Bierfan immer wieder wechselnde Monatsbiere. Jummi! Und natürlich an das Personal! Aufmerksam ohne Aufdringlich zu sein (man wird sogar zurück gerufen, wenn man in der online Reservierung für Verwirrung gesorgt hat). Ihr macht das toll! Weiter so 🙂
