Attractive and rustic location, food was very good, very friendly staff.

It was a very nice evening that all guests enjoyed. We celebrated my daughter's new job. That was certainly a good omen.

So much potato! I was glad to have the salad to complement all the potato. The patties were yummy. The food was super hot when it came out. They had an English menu, and it was very convenient. I also like how they offer prescription glasses and seat cushions for anyone who needs it.

Miserable!!! We weren't served, had to get up to order, and after 45 minutes we didn't get any drinks or food even though we had ordered both.

The ambiance is truly unique, and the service was very friendly and competent. Unfortunately, the food didn't impress me. The rösti were mushy and dripping with fat. As a customer of a restaurant specializing in potatoes, I would have expected better handling and better preparation.

The food was delicious, the portions were large, and the location was beautiful and inviting. If only the staff would make sure other customers weren't too loud. (We had a group of women there who were talking, laughing, and sometimes clapping very loudly.) It's nice when they're having fun, but it's still a restaurant where others come for dates or want to discuss important things over dinner. You can keep the volume down in your room, simply out of consideration. Otherwise, the evening was very nice: the restrooms were clean, the staff friendly, and the food delicious. I'll be back 😁

For a small lunch, now tried > 10 times. Very nice staff, food came quickly and hot. At around €9 plus drinks you can't complain. You can re-book with soup and dessert for only €2. On Fridays there are more visitors to the Pensioner Treff (are you still allowed to say that?)

Great restaurant with absolutely delicious dishes and a huge selection on the menu that you almost can't decide on. The service is good, everyone is super friendly and checks on you regularly but not too often. Unfortunately, with the house full at peak time, we had to wait longer for our food, which can still be improved. Otherwise everything was great 👍

We went there on a recommendation. Despite the restaurant being full and without a reservation, we still got a table for two people. That was great too, because the food was really tasty. The map doesn't lead to a selection, but rather raises the question "In what order do I want to try all of this?"😊 Rich, fresh and very tasty - we were and are thrilled. Service is nice and attentive, the prices correspond to the current level in the catering industry.

Food was great, huge and delicious portions! Great service from the waitress. The toilets were also clean. The furnishings are rustic, like in a beer cellar, unfortunately a bit loud.

It was pretty full when we visited (Friday around 6:30 p.m.). We hadn't made a reservation, but we were still shown a table. The food (veg burger) was okay.

Service and ambience are very good for a Ratskeller. Unfortunately the food was very poor. Lots of frozen goods and sauce that drowns the schnitzel.

We had pre-ordered 17 dishes via email for a family gathering. This worked perfectly, the food was exactly as ordered and served very quickly. Everyone enjoyed it very much, the room was pleasant. The only thing that took a bit of time was paying because many guests wanted to pay at the same time. Update: we were there the other day and ordered the daily menu. It wasn't served exactly as ordered, waiting time 30! Minutes (about half the seats were occupied). Therefore 1 point deducted.

We have been to the potato house many times and it has always been great. The food is also really tasty and the portions are generous. We wanted to eat there with a group of 12 people. Due to the large number of people, we were told on the phone that it would be nice if we could choose dishes in advance so that we could plan better. Of course we were kind enough to do that. While we were there, one of us was out due to illness and we asked if we could cancel his meal. That wouldn't work and we still have to pay for it, we could eat it or take it with us. Please what?! We're so NICE and come to them for better planning and then we get screwed over it? That doesn't work at all and is really not customer friendly!! The shop was full and no place was empty, we were one of the first at half past six. Nobody can tell me that someone like that wouldn't have gotten rid of such a stupid salad at another table. I have worked in service for over 13 years and I think this is really a disgrace.

If you're looking for good home-style cuisine with portions that fill you up, you've come to the right place. We had the pan which you can only order for two people or more. This is really big but still delicious. Here you have to be a good eater and be hungry. Of course we did it.

Highly recommended, excellent burger and good schnitzel. Good portions and the side salad was also great. However, it's better to reserve in advance ;)

Unfortunately, without a reservation, there is no table available for 3 people. If you want to eat spontaneously, you can't. She didn't even ask if we could come a little later.

We are there regularly. Is a rustic restaurant with German cuisine. Great food and nice staff.

We were there for lunch, Food was good and sufficient. Just the fries from the bag actually doesn't work for one at all Potato house. Schnitzel was good but was probably before serving kept warm and then came Warm and warm on our plate. At lunch you can ignore it, just be with it I would have official prices a word to the service lost about it.

The rustic potato house describes this restaurant perfectly! You feel right at home when you come in! Totally cozy, excellent service and absolutely delicious food! Highly recommended! There is room for everyone, but it's best to make a reservation! Also suitable for groups! Parking spaces can be found in the immediate vicinity! Thumbs up 👍🏻we'll be back!!!!

Rustic rooms and delicious food. There was a lot going on there before Christmas and you had to wait quite a long time for the food. The wait staff put a lot of effort into it.

We were there for dinner with a larger group. Everyone was extremely happy with their chosen dishes. The price-performance ratio is totally right.

It's really a disgrace to be treated so unkindly. There wasn't even an apology from the service staff. Food is okay… used to be better. Well, let's see how it goes Melle is better positioned! With 16 people. Food pre-ordered (everyone from the menu). Perfect timing. When the food came, everyone had their plate on the table within 2-3 minutes. The food was delicious, no one had anything to complain about. Perfect service, not intrusive, but always keeping an eye on the drinks.

Had a meal there spontaneously. Staff was very friendly. Restaurant filled up very quickly. But the staff never lost track. We had to wait a bit for the food, but everything was freshly prepared.

Before we went to Golden Ace in the theater in Herford we had reserved a table for 7 people. Great ambience, very attentive service and an extensive potato menu. We had seven different main courses and everything came at the same time and was very tasty. Thank you very much

It was almost impossible to reserve a table. No one answers the phone and you can only make a reservation online for lunch. Food great, service very nice.

Not everyone's ordered food was brought to the table, but the order was on the bill. Waiting time between ordering and consumption was 1 hour.

Very nice service, Pens were brought straight away for our son and they also took good care of the "little man" when it came to his order... The food was very good and the portion was huge... So only recommended...

That was the worst thing I've experienced so far. The potato/salmon soup was oversalted, the grilled bacon just passed the grill and was limp, the steak was English even though it wasn't ordered that way, that was my meal. My wife's salmon was baked with cheese, not edible because it was too salty and the edge, well, they call it roasted flavors. I complained about the meat and got the same plate back with a fried piece of steak. Of course, the other dishes (meat and fried potatoes) were no longer hot but almost cold and as a small thank you they slammed this plate back to me very listlessly “the feet” to eat. Mistakes can always happen when it's busy, but the way my complaint was handled was terrible. Up to now we have always liked and enjoyed our food here, but that has really deteriorated drastically and is not acceptable. I also noted these points on site, but acknowledged them but did not apologize or anything like that. The evening cost me an annoying €64 and will probably be the last money I left here.

It was a nice evening. The food came quickly and was extremely tasty with really good portions and the whole thing was looked after by top service. Thanks for that! The only drawback is the toilet, which unfortunately smells unpleasant way before the toilet area.

Beautifully located beer garden in the inner courtyard. The food was really great. Great service and delicious beer.

The spare ribs are incredibly tasty and the quantity for the price is unbeatable! The wedges are crispy and not too greasy. The waiting time was manageable and the service was very accommodating and friendly! Overall really tip top!!!

We were looking forward to a nice evening together and were unfortunately very disappointed. Four dishes were served with rotten meat, the stench was unbearable. How can you not notice something like that in the kitchen is incomprehensible to me. You'll never see us here again.

We went here for dinner with a group. 4 meat dishes we ordered (including 2 rump steaks) were bad, the meat was really “rotten”. The smell was unbearable and the taste of rotten meat lingers in your mouth for hours. Simply horrible. This is something a trained chef should be aware of before it is grilled and served.

Unlike other restaurants, the tables are further apart, which keeps the volume pleasant since there aren't that many people in one place. The food is super tasty and a must for anyone who likes potatoes. Of course there are also other dishes such as steak, ribs, schnitzel or others. I can recommend the burgers, which are prepared with salad instead of fries as a side dish for a change. 220 grams of patties and potato pancakes as rolls fill you up. There is also enough vegetarian selection

I always enjoyed eating there regularly. Unfortunately, my favorite dish, schnitzel with spicy paprika sauce, was removed from the menu. I don't know whether this has anything to do with woker political correctness. I didn't like the substitute dish I chose... That's how the store died for me. If the dish ends up on the menu again at some point, I'll come back and rate it better! Update 8/27/24 Paprika schnitzel is back. Large portion and good taste! Therefore now full points

Unfortunately the terrace was not open. It was extremely hot in the restaurant - very unpleasant. The greeting and seat assignment are more like a barracks tone. Food was good, the sauerkraut could be better. Schnitzel with mushrooms is awesome.

The classic soup was delicious! Best soup ever. #111 in the menu was great, but I would recommend the potatoe casserole with salmon cheese and spinach. It took more than 30 min to get our food after ordering, but it was worth the waiting.

We had lunch there today and it was great. Value for money is great, the portions are reasonable. Big plus point: Totally child-friendly. My daughter (2 years old) immediately received a children's chair, crayons and children's cutlery. I have never experienced this in any other restaurant. Changing table and step so that small children can reach the sink are also available. The staff was completely friendly to my daughter. We will be back definitely! Thanks!

Cozy pub. Food excellent. Open until 10 p.m., but at 9 p.m. the chef starts cooking sauerkraut stew. We finished our dinner on Thursday evening at about 8:40 PM and wanted dessert. They come to pick up our plates at 2 minutes past 9 and also with the announcement that the kitchen is closed. In the end it worked, but all in all a bit strange. And then the weekend has yet to begin..... By the way, there could be some background music. Have fun and tasty food.
