We ate at Knolle yesterday. The restaurant is very appealing. The food selection was plentiful. They also had a game menu. The staff was friendly and efficient. We had the bread basket with homemade potato bread as a starter, which is highly recommended. Our meal was also very delicious.

Update: The portions are now quite generous, but the prices have also increased significantly. Nevertheless, it's very good, tasty, and they offer gluten-free options. Very romantic/quaint. It looks a bit like an old library. A really lovely atmosphere! Unfortunately, it took ages to order our food, even though it wasn't very busy. Apparently, the staff hadn't coordinated... On the other hand, the drinks arrived quickly. I ordered fried potatoes with a fried egg, bacon, and pickle for around €9. I only felt full because I'd already eaten a small snack beforehand. The asparagus on the side menu started at around €15.

A good restaurant with delicious food. The schnitzel with paprika sauce was pleasantly spicy and a decent portion. The service was good. We were attentive and regularly asked if we needed more drinks. The atmosphere was pleasant, and there was plenty of space even for larger groups. However, getting through by phone is a disaster! It took several minutes of ringing and multiple attempts before I finally got through. So, if you're coming from further away, you'll need patience or should choose a different restaurant…

A true German restaurant. Hearty food in large portions. Very friendly and quick service. You're immediately offered a potato liqueur at the start. A wide menu of over 50 dishes. Orders are taken promptly, but delivery can take a while, probably due to the kitchen being busy. Count on 30 to 40 minutes. There are also senior portions of some dishes, which are €2 off. We opted for those, given our experience the day before. And they were more than enough. I've seen many dog-sized bags at others, so a portion is so large. Arrive early or make a reservation, as it fills up quickly, even though the restaurant can seat many people.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our visit to the restaurant Die Knolle. We waited over 45 minutes for our food, and the quality was more in keeping with a simple snack bar than a restaurant. We also had to wait another 20-30 minutes to pay and ended up going to the counter ourselves to settle the bill. Overall, it wasn't a pleasant experience—a shame, because we were looking forward to a pleasant evening.

The food is delicious and you'll definitely be full. The atmosphere and ambiance are quaint and incredibly cozy.

We went out to dinner today with three people. I was curious because I'd read a lot of negative reviews. The food was tasty (not Michelin-star quality, but you shouldn't expect it either!), the price was perfectly reasonable, and the dish I had (the councilmen's grilled plate - see photo) was very filling! The restrooms were clean. The service was friendly and very attentive. Nothing to complain about, really. Making reservations by phone was an adventure! Better to go in person at the restaurant if possible. 🙄

Because today is the anniversary of my dad's death, I thought I'd go out for a nice meal. I looked around to see what was available in the area. The Kollen restaurant immediately caught my eye because of its extensive, good selection. I was greeted promptly and shown to a table. I made my decision pretty quickly and was able to order relatively quickly. I was given a small liqueur as a welcome drink. My order was taken, and the drinks arrived quickly. The main course, with a wild salad, also arrived fairly quickly. Top quality and taste.

It fits the name: quaint, beautiful, and rustic (German). The food is plentiful and tastes excellent, if you're prepared for a pub. The staff is incredibly polite and super fast; with four ladies running the place, others can take a look. And yes, it's gotten a bit more expensive...but why not? Bottom line: come and see for yourself.

The place was surprisingly full for a Monday evening, we were a party of 10 people so we were in the cellar dinning room. the waiter servicecwas top rate. There was a small mix up in our order some got things they didn't order but the waitress sorted it out with a friendly word and a smile all credit to her. I had ordered the wiener Schnitzel there was plenty of it the only thing that was lacking it came without a sauce, never the less tasted just fine.

This was my very first time here—and definitely not my last. I was absolutely thrilled with the veggie burger: very, very tasty. 😋 All in all: Great food, super friendly staff, and fair prices. 👍🙂

Unfortunately, we were completely dissatisfied today. We were there with three children and waited over an hour for the food. When the food finally arrived, it was still wrong, and I don't know anything about homemade potato pancakes! I get better ones at the fair, and that's just not right at the Kartoffelhaus! After half an hour, our drinks were empty, and we tried to reorder, but unfortunately, to no avail! The chicken schnitzel was dry. The waitress with long blond hair wasn't particularly friendly. We reported that the food wasn't great, and unfortunately, there was no response! We've been there twice before and are usually always satisfied, but unfortunately, after this incident, we won't be going back! ...

Price/performance really great!

I can't understand why a restaurant advertises online that it's open until 10 PM, only to announce at 9:03 PM that the kitchen has closed and I can't get anything to eat... I think that if the kitchen closes at 9 PM, they should state it that way on their website and even on Google. I find this a total disgrace. I definitely won't be going there again...

A quaint restaurant with plenty to discover. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. The potato soup was very tasty. Only the Mettwurst could have been a bit less hard. (A little tip for the chef.) The staff is friendly.

This restaurant is highly recommended! Delicious food, generous portions, and great value for money! (2 thick schnitzels plus fried potatoes plus bacon plus onions plus a salad for €20.50) According to my wife, "the best schnitzel she's ever eaten." One star deducted for the ambiance because the restroom could have been cleaner, but that was probably just a coincidence that day! You should definitely make a reservation, because it's very busy! We'd love to come back.

It's a truly cozy restaurant with delicious dishes. Unfortunately, I had to deduct one star because the air quality wasn't great; there was a lack of ventilation. Otherwise, everything was top-notch!

The food was tasty and the portions were very generous, perhaps even too much for some. Unfortunately, the rest of the visit was rather disappointing. The wait for our food was over an hour. The outdoor area was unkempt: no sun protection or protection from pigeons, uncomfortable seats, outdated tables, one of which was even dirty with bird droppings. Overall: Good food, but the ambiance and service left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, this isn't enough for a pleasant restaurant visit. Of course, we also tipped.

The food was really good, but the staff was so bad. I've rarely experienced anything like that. We wanted to order a second drink, but no one came, so we went to the bar and ordered, and after 15 minutes there was still nothing. Then my husband went back and asked where his beer was. The man behind the bar replied: "You can see what's going on here." After that, a woman who served the next table came over. We waved again, and she said she'd be right there, but she left again. Then we paid and spent our money elsewhere for drinks. I wouldn't go there again.

Just like in the Bünde branch, the food can't keep up with the ambiance. For a restaurant that prides itself on its potatoes, the fried potatoes should at least be halfway decent every time.

The spare ribs were too expensive...17.90 euros for 2 small spare ribs and the bread was dry.

The food and atmosphere were excellent during our visit. One thing that was a bit lacking was that after the first drink order, we would have died of thirst if we hadn't literally chased after it.

A very cozy restaurant. A welcoming, traditional German atmosphere where you'll feel at home. Excellently prepared food, good, friendly service. All in all, highly recommended. We'll be happy to return.

There were 11 of us there today, after my cousin's confirmation. The service was great, everyone was friendly, but the food was really not good and more like a snack bar. My rump steak was ordered medium, but it arrived English, my grandma's schnitzel tasted floury. It was my first time there and I was kind of disappointed, but still a nice place.

I can definitely recommend the tuber, the food and service are very good. The rooms could be brighter and friendlier and air conditioning would also be recommended.

Today we had dinner with three people at the “Kartoffelhaus” - unfortunately the visit was disappointing overall. Although the food came to the table relatively quickly, the quality was anything but what you would expect from a restaurant - more on the level of a bad snack bar. The rump steak was ordered medium, but was served English. The waiters were hardly attentive: no one asked whether the food was tasty, empty plates were left standing for a long time, and no one asked if any other drinks were wanted. In the end we had to get up ourselves and go to the counter to pay - even though the restaurant was empty and there was enough staff. Particularly disappointing: In a restaurant that calls itself “Kartoffelhaus” you would at least expect freshly prepared fried potatoes - but what was clearly served was frozen goods. Conclusion: Unfortunately it wasn't for us today - neither the service nor the quality of this restaurant was convincing.

The food was delicious, the portions were large, and the location was beautiful and inviting. If only the staff would make sure other customers weren't too loud. (We had a group of women there who were talking, laughing, and sometimes clapping very loudly.) It's nice when they're having fun, but it's still a restaurant where others come for dates or want to discuss important things over dinner. You can keep the volume down in your room, simply out of consideration. Otherwise, the evening was very nice: the restrooms were clean, the staff friendly, and the food delicious. I'll be back 😁

For a small lunch, now tried > 10 times. Very nice staff, food came quickly and hot. At around €9 plus drinks you can't complain. You can re-book with soup and dessert for only €2. On Fridays there are more visitors to the Pensioner Treff (are you still allowed to say that?)

The map doesn't lead to a selection, but rather raises the question "In what order do I want to try all of this?"😊 Rich, fresh and very tasty - we were and are thrilled. Service is nice and attentive, the prices correspond to the current level in the catering industry.

It wasn't served exactly as ordered, waiting time 30! Minutes (about half the seats were occupied). Therefore 1 point deducted.

We have been to the potato house many times and it has always been great. The food is also really tasty and the portions are generous. We wanted to eat there with a group of 12 people. Due to the large number of people, we were told on the phone that it would be nice if we could choose dishes in advance so that we could plan better. Of course we were kind enough to do that. While we were there, one of us was out due to illness and we asked if we could cancel his meal. That wouldn't work and we still have to pay for it, we could eat it or take it with us. Please what?! We're so NICE and come to them for better planning and then we get screwed over it? That doesn't work at all and is really not customer friendly!! The shop was full and no place was empty, we were one of the first at half past six. Nobody can tell me that someone like that wouldn't have gotten rid of such a stupid salad at another table. I have worked in service for over 13 years and I think this is really a disgrace.

If you're looking for good home-style cuisine with portions that fill you up, you've come to the right place. We had the pan which you can only order for two people or more. This is really big but still delicious. Here you have to be a good eater and be hungry. Of course we did it.
