Sehr enttäuscht…das Essen war nicht frisch..kam bereits nach 10 Minuten nach Bestellung…so hat es auch geschmeckt (aufgewärmt,Bratkartoffeln überkross ) Service war leider nicht vorhanden…keine Nachfrage nichts …Das Personal musste man regelrecht suchen..Nach Beanstandung wurde lediglich ein Kaffee angeboten… Ganz klar keine Empfehlung

Quaint restaurant, rustic furnishings and comfortable seating. Unlike other restaurants, the tables are further apart, which keeps the volume pleasant since there aren't that many people in one place. The food is super tasty and a must for anyone who likes potatoes. Of course there are also other dishes such as steak, ribs, schnitzel or others. I can recommend the burgers, which are prepared with salad instead of fries as a side dish for a change. 220 grams of patties and potato pancakes as rolls fill you up. There is also enough vegetarian selection

I always enjoyed eating there regularly. Unfortunately, my favorite dish, schnitzel with spicy paprika sauce, was removed from the menu. I don't know whether this has anything to do with woker political correctness. I didn't like the substitute dish I chose... That's how the store died for me. If the dish ends up on the menu again at some point, I'll come back and rate it better! Update 8/27/24 Paprika schnitzel is back. Large portion and good taste! Therefore now full points

The classic soup was delicious! Best soup ever. #111 in the menu was great, but I would recommend the potatoe casserole with salmon cheese and spinach. It took more than 30 min to get our food after ordering, but it was worth the waiting.

Unfortunately the terrace was not open. It was extremely hot in the restaurant - very unpleasant. The greeting and seat assignment are more like a barracks tone. Food was good, the sauerkraut could be better. Schnitzel with mushrooms is awesome.

Super delicious German cuisine. Nice and rustic. I like it very much :) The portions are very generous, which is always important to me personally 😄 will definitely come back.

The tuber was recommended to us. We were there for lunch with 7 people. One meal was acceptable, all others were disappointing. The waiter had to clear away a lot of leftovers. No, we cannot recommend the restaurant

We had lunch there today and it was great. Value for money is great, the portions are reasonable. Big plus point: Totally child-friendly. My daughter (2 years old) immediately received a children's chair, crayons and children's cutlery. I have never experienced this in any other restaurant. Changing table and step so that small children can reach the sink are also available. The staff was completely friendly to my daughter. We will be back definitely! Thanks!

Quaint restaurant in Herford's historic town hall. The food is okay, but it feels like a lot of it is cooked “out of the box” (convenience), less fresh and homemade. For a potato house, there are also relatively few ideas when it comes to the tuber that gives it its name...

Cozy pub. Food excellent. Open until 10 p.m., but at 9 p.m. the chef starts cooking sauerkraut stew. We finished our dinner on Thursday evening at about 8:40 PM and wanted dessert. They come to pick up our plates at 2 minutes past 9 and also with the announcement that the kitchen is closed. In the end it worked, but all in all a bit strange. And then the weekend has yet to begin..... By the way, there could be some background music. Have fun and tasty food.

The four of us met in the tub. Our table was in a cozy corner, so it was pleasantly quiet. The taste of the food was ok, but unfortunately far too little for me. The service was attentive and quick.

So every schnitzel at a rest stop tastes better... all convenience and not exactly tender. Apparently there were only reheated potatoes that were still cold in the middle and were exchanged after a complaint, so that at least the temperature was acceptable, but also left something to be desired in terms of color and taste - and that in the potato house! We were really disappointed because we know it differently from before.

What happened here? We actually always enjoyed eating here...

I had a burger with chicken breast and lots of salad. The homemade potato pancakes instead of rolls were also delicious

There were four of us there around 1 p.m. It's a fairly large store that has various seating areas and tables that are very inviting and comfortable. We weren't particularly hungry and wanted some warm food on the way through. It was very tasty and rich. We once had a little treat: schnitzel on a pancake with a fried egg and salad. Which tasted perfect. Then twice the tuber with chicken and mushrooms and salad. The chicken was tender and the mushrooms and sauce were also very tasty. The tuber was three half potatoes in their skins. Very rich. The fourth meal was two meatballs with fried potatoes, a fried egg and vegetables. The vegetables were very tasty. All in all recommended. With a large drink €20 per person. There is also an asparagus menu there right now. We'd love to come again when we're in the area! Great friendly young service. Top!

Outside the “beer garden” or terrace is OK, nothing more and nothing less. The prices of the food are definitely too high, everyone! The service, which had to serve 4 tables on the terrace, seemed to be overwhelmed... Nope, no second meal!

Attentive service and a beautiful interior design offer plenty of space to feel comfortable

We went to the Knolle for a family dinner. It was supposed to be a nice evening because I was visiting from Switzerland. It actually started out quite well until the food came. I had the grill plate, number 114. The sausages were warmed up again because the skin was completely leathery. The rump steak was cooked through and without a gram of salt; salt was saved on the plate. The pork loin steak was marinated in a garlic marinade, the taste overwhelmed everything, terrible. Then I wanted to eat my side salad, now the hammer, there was a tailor (vermin) there who wiped out the whole food for me. After my comments, the waiter just wanted to offer me a coffee or a new salad, I don't think he understood what it was about. Then we wanted to take the remaining spare ribs with us, whereupon we were told that the packaging cost an extra €1, which was an absolute disgrace after I had already complained. We then had to pay a young woman, of course the full amount for the food we complained about. No effort was made in any way to do anything well. No, on the contrary, you became even cheekier. The service had two extra drinks on the bill that we hadn't consumed. The young woman then said very cheekily, I now have to pay for it myself from my wallet. An absolute no go!!!!! We weren't even said goodbye when we left. You want to spend a nice evening with your family because I'm really not there that often and then things like that.

The schnitzel was warmed up the day before and drowned in a ready-made sauce that was far too sweet. The croquettes were not homemade, which is what you might expect from a potato house. But the location and service were very good. Therefore 2 stars overall

I was in the tuber last Monday. Unfortunately my chicken was too spicy and fried too well. Even the knife had difficulty cutting. The chicken on the other plate, however, was buttery soft. I was offered a replacement, but I had already eaten my vegetables and some of the hash browns and didn't want to wait again and start over. It's a shame, it's been like this before.

A wonderful visit to the tuber. The super friendly service really gave us a great time and it was tasty too. The menu offers exactly what you would expect from a potato house. A huge selection of dishes from or with the popular tuber. The rustic interior fits perfectly with the gastronomic concept and the small niches offer the perfect place for a cozy meal. We would love to come back, especially because of the super friendly and competent service team.

I had a rösti with salmon and shrimp. The food was really good for the price, but the taste was the deciding factor for the 5 stars. The staff attentive and friendly without being too intrusive. I felt extremely comfortable in this beautiful location and will now dine here more often.

Food terrible - just finished products and greasy. Service - disaster Chairs, carpets and toilets underground. Absolutely not justifiable for the price. We were here with 16 people (family celebration) and have rarely experienced anything so bad. Even the one star is not justified.

A really quaint restaurant that does what it promises. The food is very tasty and the portions are decent. Adjustments to the dish are also possible - sometimes noted on the menu. For €2 less you can get a smaller “pensioner’s portion” of some dishes. It is important to make a reservation as the room is already full at lunchtime. Recommended!

Greed is very important to potatoes, but unfortunately the quality leaves a lot to be desired. Crispy fried potatoes were on the menu. Unfortunately, that didn't correspond at all to what arrived on the plate. It's a shame. Ambience and conditions nice and friendly.

We had to wait far too long for food! At least an hour...

Wir waren an einem Donnerstag zum Abendessen da. Obwohl es auf der deutschsprachigen Karte angepriesen wird, gab es keine Karte auf Englisch. Der Mitarbeiter war aber wirklich sehr bemüht die nicht-deutschsprachigen Gäste bei ihrer Auswahl zu unterstützen. Das war's dann aber auch was man über den Service positives berichten könnte. Die Gerichte wurden nacheinander serviert. Auf dem Salat fehlte die Hälfte der auf der Karte stehenden Zutaten. Auf Nachfrage wurden diese lieblos auf einem Teller nachgereicht. Die anderen Hauptgerichte waren allerdings sehr lecker. Dennoch saßen wir den Rest des Abends absolut unbeachtet ohne dass abgeräumt oder nachgefragt wurde ob wir noch was trinken wollen. Zum Bezahlen hat sich einer von uns aktiv auf die Suche machen müssen...

Gutes Essen und relativ günstig

Hat mir sehr gut gefallen, Rippchen waren kein Schnäppchen, aber super Portion, sehr zart und lecker. Urigen Ambiente, sehr gepflegt, kann ich nur empfehlen.

Top Hatte nicht reserviert. Schönen Tisch. Große Portion Grünkohl mit Fleisch, Wurst und Bratkartoffeln. Sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service.

Ich hatte ein.. "Westfälisches Krüstchen“ .. Ein paniertes Schweineschnitzel auf hausgemachten Reibekuchen mit Rahmchampignons und Käse überbacken an einer kleinen Salatbeilage. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis bei diesem Gericht war sehr gut. Es war ein Schmaus für Auge und Gaumen und die Bedienung war aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Ambiente fand ich sehr interessant .. aber leider findet man nichts über die Geschichte von dem Gebäude.. was mir die Wartezeit auf das Essen etwas kurzweiliger gestaltet hätte. Wegen der langen Wartezeit auf das Essen einen Punkt Abzug. Es werden Lesebrillen gestellt .. und als Gimmick gibt kostenlose Kaugummis zur Zahnpflege für danach wer möchte ;-) Also 5 Sterne für das Haus.

Nicht mal ein Stern verdient! Anlässlich des aktuellen Themas, möchte ich unseren Besuch gerne erläutern. Ich war mit meiner Tochter und meinem Mann dort. Zunächst wurde man mit dem A..... angeschaut. Nach einer langen Wartezeit, wurden wir dann auch beachtet. Als ich nach einem Kindersitz (ich habe mich versprochen und wollte einen Kindersitz) gefragt habe, hat sich die Kellerin hinter der Theke lustig gemacht. Sie meinte: ,,Ein Kindersitz?..Und lachte mich aus." Daraufhin haben wir Platz genommen und haben unser Essen bestellt. Das Restaurant war sehr gut besucht. Uns ist nach kurzer Zeit aufgefallen, dass ALLE neuen Gäste einen Klopfer bekommen haben zur Begrüßung. Wir nicht. Es geht mir nicht um den Klopfer, sondern um die Tatsache, dass wir nicht mal gefragt wurden. Nur weil wir dunkle Haare haben??? Wir haben das Jahr 2024!!!! Echt traurig. Vom Essen möchte ich nicht sprechen. Ich hatte einen Lachsauflauf. Viel zu fettig und einfach nur ekelhaft.

Immer wenn wir mal im Ort sind versuchen wir es dorthin zu schaffen. Lecker guter Service Preise passen Kinder immer vollkommen

Es war ein toller Abend. Das Essen war sehr lecker und reichlich. Die Bedienung hat 5 Sterne 🌟 verdient. Wir waren mit 3 kleinen Kindern und die Dame vom Service haben super mitgedacht. Der Koch hat uns super Gerichte gezaubert. Für Küchenpersonal auch ein großes Lob. Kann ich nur empfehlen.
