Gasthaus Pfeil in Bergkirchen

A very bad experience! We waited an extremely long time for our food, and when it finally arrived, it was even wrong: instead of veal, they delivered pork. This is absolutely unacceptable! Anyone who treats their customers like this shows neither reliability nor respect. This was definitely our last order.

We drove past it several times and thought it looked quite nice. We decided to give it a try, but that will be the only time we eat here. We arrived around 1 p.m., and we were first noticed at 1:25 p.m. After ordering food and drinks together, it took another 20 minutes for the side salads to arrive. Drinks then arrived 15 minutes later after repeated reminders. It's currently 2:45 p.m., and we're still waiting (1 hour and 20 minutes) for our food... We will definitely not be going here again, and all the good reviews are completely incomprehensible!

September 14, 2025 Despite early reservations, the staff was once again unfriendly and ignored. No greeting, no interest! We were at the Gasthaus Pfeil again on September 9, 2025, with 12 people. Nothing has changed; the staff is still unfriendly. No attention was paid when we entered the inn. The waitress walked past us without greeting us. She almost pushed me. I think the next meal will be at a different restaurant. The food was better, too! January 9, 2025 We were at the Gasthaus Pfeil again. What can I say: We were once again ignored and stood at the entrance in the cold for quite some time. Until we told them we had a reservation. But it took a while again for our reservation to be found. Does that really have to happen? Couldn't it be organized better? It's a shame, because the food is always good! Review 5 months ago: The food tastes good! But the reception, even when you've reserved a table, could be improved! Guests are ignored at the entrance, no greeting, no glance. You stand there for a while, but eventually, no one gets through, neither those coming nor those leaving. I do expect a bit more friendliness!

And this restaurant is highly recommended; it serves good, home-style cooking. The service is friendly and quick. The food is very good and plentiful.

I've eaten here in the past and highly recommend their menu. This time I just ordered a beer while in the garden playing with my grandchildren. My order never arrived, so after 30 mins then children were getting bored so I left. In fairness it was lunchtime and they were extremely busy. Usually it's great.

The food was good, and so was the staff. Portions were plentiful, but the side salad could be improved.

We've been guests at Pfeil for at least 20 years. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio is no longer right! The food is unseasoned and tasteless; the portions are small and poorly presented; the fried potatoes are simply not good—they're oily, old, and hard. We won't be coming back!

Despite having a reservation for 3 p.m. in the beer garden today, we weren't even given a second glance. Glasses from previous guests hadn't been cleared away. Staff walked past several times without taking our orders. After 25 minutes, we left without our drinks or food. We traveled all the way from the southeast based on a recommendation, so thank you! We don't need this kind of service. Above all, the lunch business was already over.

A disgrace... We made a reservation a week in advance with four people - we arrived and the waitress didn't even assign us a seat, let alone listen to who the reservation was for. Despite the unfriendliness, we found a seat. The tables hadn't been cleared, which is no surprise given how quickly the waitresses served us. So we sat at a table with half-full glasses and a full ashtray. The waitress kept walking past us and ignored us for half an hour. Given the staff's attention span and work ethic, you should reconsider whether you want to have that experience. We left the restaurant empty-handed. A disgrace - I would give it zero stars if I could. First and last time.

A request for some water for the dog was answered with, "Find a bowl somewhere, I won't do that." Service was poor, the wait time was endless, and the staff were unfriendly.

Dear Pfeil family, Whenever we're there, the food is excellent and the staff are very friendly. All special requests are taken care of and implemented by the waiters. Special mention goes to the attentive waitress C.D., who is happy to accommodate any special request. We were very satisfied with everything during our stay and would gladly return.

Everyone's tastes differ, and I can only give my subjective opinion. The restaurant is getting on in years, and it was completely packed on a Saturday afternoon. But the many hard-working and friendly waiters were quick and extremely well-organized. Not everyone at our table liked the food, saying it was lacking in seasoning and flavor; others thought it was great. I didn't think it was bad, but I did have to add salt and pepper... but the portions are very generous, and the price is right. Unfortunately, I personally wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

A great restaurant, or as they say in Bavarian, "a bärige Wirtschaft" (a bear-like restaurant). Top-notch food – the selection is very special – from classic roast pork and schnitzel to suckling pig lung, even milt sausage and roast brawn. For vegetarians, there's a large selection of soups, classic Kässpatzn (cheese spaetzle), and a delicious-looking curry. The waiters are numerous, all on the ball, and really friendly. In addition to the parlor, the rooms also include a winter garden and a second large room, all inviting and cozy. You can also sit outside in the garden. We'll definitely be back.

We made a reservation for a birthday party for 7 people today, May 25, 2025, but we couldn't get a table because they had booked for Saturday. THAT SOUNDS incompetent and unprofessional. I've known this restaurant for many years, there's never been anything wrong, never anything to criticize, always wonderful, the food is exceptionally large, every meal tastes delicious! And the homemade cakes are unbeatable, I think you can only find something like them at the Pfeil in Bergkirchen behind Dachau near Munich!

I highly recommend it. Whenever we visit, we always stay here.

The last time we were there was for the Christmas party! The food was very good and value for money too! Last week I tried to reserve a table by phone! Often it was busy, and when it was free, someone answered the phone and hung up! There was no call back either! Point deduction for that! Then we'll just go somewhere else to eat!

Pfeil was always very good, but has now worn off, the food was lukewarm, warmed up quickly and the shish kebab was dry. Price performance is right.

Before visiting the Gasthof Pfeil you should make a snack at home to fill yourself up. I had dinner there yesterday with my company and ate a cordon bleue that was as big as the palm of my hand. Fries 🍟 were also few and doughy and not cross. There's no way to get me there anymore.

Mittlerweile leider nicht mehr die Qualität. Große Portion ist nicht unbedingt das wichtigste. Es geht um Geschmack heute der Spanferkel braten, war so trocken, das wir jeder am Tisch nur die Hälfte gegessen hat, eigentlich nicht mal. Die Knödel waren entweder uralt oder schon 3 Stunden im Wasser. Auch wenn es günstig ist vom Preis aber es sollte trotzdem schmecken. So schnell werde ich hier nicht mehr her gehen..

Price/performance is probably the best locally far and wide. If you like very good and classic Bavarian cuisine, you've come to the right place. I don't know what could be improved, unfortunately many others know that too and that's why the store is always very fully booked, so reservations are almost a must!

What can I say, I could give 5 ***** for service, food, everywhere, BUT, it's a nightmare!!!!! These many people, even if you get a reservation after 14 days, your table is not free, the queue in the entrance area is at least 20 meters long... you are pushed back and forth, you are laughed at by the fed up people who come out because you're standing here in this huge queue...we waited and waited...the end of the song, we left hungry...I'm going to cancel my husband's 60th birthday here again...unfortunately :-( sad but this Crowds are simply unbearable. All the best to the lovely team...
