KITZO Alpenstüberl´ in Dresden

We had our Christmas party here. The food was really delicious. And the portions were huge! The atmosphere is pretty cool, and the service was quick, friendly, and responsive. 👍

A lovely atmosphere, just as the name suggests 😊 The staff at our table were absolutely excellent. The food was delicious, though we did deduct a point because the roulade with dumplings was a bit small for a grown man.

The service is still excellent, in the old-school style! Sadly, you don't see that very often these days. Despite the restaurant being busy, the wait for the food wasn't too long, and all our requests were taken into account and respected. All in all, the price-performance ratio is excellent! I'll definitely be back! Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality!

We ate at Kitzo last Sunday evening. It was a good thing I reserved a table, as it was quite busy again. We ordered the beef rump with fried potatoes and a salad (two of us) and the Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes and salad. The salad was crisp and fresh, and the meat was incredibly tender. We all had a glass of wine with our meal, which was also very good. I can highly recommend Kitzo. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is cozy, and the prices are very reasonable. This was our third time in Dresden, and we've always eaten at Kitzo. Nothing has changed over the years – neither the quality nor the service. And certainly not the portion sizes – anyone who finds fault with those is beyond help.

It takes a very long time to be served at all. The soup arrived promptly after we ordered, as did the drinks. The wait for the main course was then 30 to 40 minutes. I was convinced they had forgotten our food. The food itself was delicious. We both had the classic Zurich-style veal strips with Spätzle, which was excellent. The portions, including the salad, were generous. I thoroughly enjoyed the quality and size of the portions. My companion couldn't quite finish her meal. She was offered the leftovers to take home, which she gratefully accepted. I really liked the ambiance. It wasn't just stereotypical Swiss chalet charm. The decor also incorporated lovely details, such as tables and chairs in the rural Biedermeier style. Warm wood paneling and cozy lighting perfectly complemented the atmosphere.

Very tasty food and friendly staff

This was our first time dining at your restaurant, and we will definitely be back and recommend you to others. The star rating speaks for itself. The service was quick and friendly, the food was incredibly delicious (chicken liver with salad), and the only slight criticism we had was the rather poor air quality and the fact that it was very warm in the dining room. Otherwise, everything was excellent! Always satisfied customers, and thank you so much!

One of my favorite restaurants in Dresden. Very good food, friendly staff, and an elevator to the restrooms. I go here for family celebrations and class reunions. Food prices are reasonable, though the beer is a bit pricey. There's a hotel attached and free parking. I highly recommend Kitzo.

We always love coming here. The staff is very friendly, and the food is excellent. Generous portions and truly delicious. For dessert, we usually have Kaiserschmarrn, which is highly recommended. Everything fits together perfectly, including the rustic Alpine-style atmosphere.

The atmosphere was fantastic, the service top-notch, and the food was also incredibly delicious. My boiled beef could have been a bit more tender, hence only 4 stars, but the cheese spaetzle and Kaiserschmarrn were fantastic. We'd love to come back.

Yesterday, eight of us were at Kitzo, and as always, we were absolutely thrilled. The table was lovingly set, and the service, as always, was wonderful. You can see that the staff enjoy their work and, above all, that there's a very positive atmosphere among them. The food is simply perfect. Kudos to the kitchen as well! We even had some changes to the meal, which were no problem at all. For example, swapping dumplings for potatoes. We were completely satisfied and simply enjoyed the lovely evening. We will definitely be back. It's always worth traveling a little further for that.

Great restaurant with a lovely Bavarian flair. They offer typical Bavarian, Austrian, and Tyrolean specialties, as well as classics like schnitzel, fish, and more. We were here for lunch on a Sunday with 6 adults and 2 children and had reserved seats. There were still a few seats available. You can also enjoy the beer garden atmosphere outside. Drinks and food were delivered reasonably quickly and were good value for money. The children's portions are definitely not too small. Dad was even able to finish the children's schnitzel ;) We highly recommend the apple strudel for dessert! See you soon and goodbye!

Yes, back to Kizo to celebrate my mother-in-law's 90th birthday. Another very beautiful, warm and sunny evening, where of course everyone was very busy both inside and out. It can happen that you had to wait almost 1.5 hours for the food, but what I then got on my plate was... After I had to complain about my mango juice, which was annoying, I was told that this couldn't be right; they open a lot of bottles a day and nobody complained. Thank goodness I let the family try it too, and they confirmed my opinion. Anyway, the friendly waitress came straight to the table with a new bottle to show me that the one was still closed, so I couldn't complain. The juice tasted very good, but it was quite warm.......... Now, as I said, after a long time, our food arrived. I had ordered trout with fried potatoes and regretted it. Unfortunately, after having to leave more than half on my plate, I sadly said no when asked if it tasted good. The fried potatoes were drenched in oil, and the trout was sloppy, like mush, wrapped in a skin. Horrible! Again, I was told that the trout was cooked with butter and that was normal. It seemed to me that my meal was ready first and then kept warm. I've eaten a lot of fish, and even prepared it myself, but I've never experienced anything like this. What a pity...

To be honest, I'm kinda speechless, I came in, 5 second later I had a table, and then I just got hit by my Childhood nostalgia from back home at my grandma's. Order hold on "A half Duck with Red cabbage" and as the picture shows, I got half a bloody duck, not some pieces of breast and a wing, no BS here! The low volume music and the smell of raw tree (which were everywhere!) Wow, little expensive, but that's ok, I couldn't even eat half my duck, and that one's on me.

The food is excellent, very tasty, and plentiful. A reservation is recommended. We enjoyed it. Because it was very crowded, we had to wait a while for the bill. But that's okay when it's so busy.

The mistake was definitely ordering the spaghetti aglio olio. Maybe other dishes are good at the restaurant, but pasta... nope. No flavor, just a pile of spaghetti slapped onto the plate... to be left standing. It's your own fault for ordering that in an Alpine restaurant. 😉 The restaurant would do well to remove this dish from the menu.

A rather mixed experience. The fish is definitely not recommended; the chef seems to still be practicing that. The au gratin pork steak resembled a shoe sole; I've had it cheaper and better elsewhere in Dresden. The service was very friendly, although sometimes a bit overwhelmed when the place was full. In nice, warm weather, you should reserve a table outside; the inside area is almost unbearable.

Generally speaking, I wouldn't recommend it. We had to wait 30 minutes before we could even order something. The food took over an hour to arrive. And they forgot drinks that we only received after asking three times. Since we had to catch the bus, we asked about paying. After asking three times and waiting 30 minutes, the waitress came across as rude and said there were only three of them serving. Unfortunately, as customers, it's not our fault if the boss doesn't employ enough waitstaff. A tip: train the staff better. We were very patient, but here their patience was stretched to the limit. The food was actually good except for the sauerkraut. It was mushy and too salty.

We've been to this restaurant several times and have always been satisfied. Unfortunately, our experience has deteriorated significantly on our last two visits. The service was very disorganized: We had to wait over half an hour for our ordered drinks and even asked several times before they finally arrived – and this happened twice in one evening. Paying also took an extremely long time on our last visit; we had to wait almost 30 minutes for someone to take the cash. The food is still good, but the service has really disappointed us on our last two visits. It's a shame, because we used to enjoy coming here.

Yes...very cozy...quaint...the food was plentiful and very tasty. You could tell from the guests all around that they were feeling at home...a great atmosphere. There were seven of us celebrating a birthday. I thought it was nice that our 10-year-old was immediately given colored pencils and paper to draw on.

We decided to stop here for dinner today. We had one solyanka, one brewmaster schnitzel, and one steak au four. The fried potatoes and the steak au four were great, but the brewmaster schnitzel wasn't that great. It was bland, uninspiring, with no refinement (butter?), and the (frozen) peas were just "served" next to both dishes to fill them up – disappointing!! The portion size of the solyanka was also disappointing. Getting a slightly larger coffee cup for €7.10 is disappointing, because it actually tasted good. The three waiters were very friendly and attentive, and the rustic ambience is rather simple, ultimately fitting the menu...

This is our third visit. We're still thrilled. The food was amazing again! The service was very good. We always come back here when we're in the area. It's not as busy at lunchtime.

The menu selection was tempting, the ambiance inviting, rustic, and reminiscent of a ski or hunting lodge. The disappointment came, unfortunately, when we considered the combination of prices and the food served. It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong—but the quality wasn't something that would entice the three of us back to the restaurant. And the prices are simply too steep for that. The portion sizes were unfortunately rather mediocre for the adults, but I was happy to be able to finish my little one's plate so I wouldn't leave Kitzo hungry. It's a shame; we had hoped for more.

Definitely recommended. There's plenty of space inside, and outside when the weather's nice. If you open the doors every now and then, it's not so warm inside. The staff are friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. The food is incredibly delicious and there's plenty of it. It was an all-round successful evening; I'd definitely go back.

Long waiting times and the food far too expensive

There's no value for money here. The presentation was careless, and the taste was so-so. But everyone has to try it for themselves.

Unfortunately, it wasn't that great. The food looked plentiful, but anything but tasty... I ordered the roulade with red cabbage and dumplings. The dumplings were lukewarm and definitely not homemade; they had a typical ready-made taste, as did the red cabbage. The roulade looked good and large, but it was very salty and there was an indefinable mass inside, not the bacon, cucumber, etc. that was described. It could definitely be better! The entire menu is probably a bit too expensive for typical pub food. I wouldn't recommend it!

The goulash was good, and so was the portion. The dumpling soup took some getting used to, as it was smoky and too "yucky" for my daughter. The cheese noodles were also "very cheesy or creamy"—really way too much of a good thing. The Kaiserschmarren (smothered pancakes) was burnt! And you could taste it! Too bad! You won't see us again in Dresden👋

We were regular guests at the Kitzo Alpenstübel in Dresden Gompitz for years and also enjoyed using the "Dresden for Friends" card, which now comes as a practical mobile phone app and offers the well-known "two main courses for the price of one" principle. So is the plan for today. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my wallet and therefore my physical ID at home. However, as I said, I had the “Dresden for Friends” card digitally with me in the app on my cell phone and also showed it. Years of loyalty as a regular guest? Apparently it doesn't count. The waitress insisted in a, let's say, "inflexible" and rather rude tone that the discount card would not be accepted without presenting ID. Reason: There would be “so much fraud” with it. An interesting assumption about guests who have been visiting there for years. Our explanation that people should know us faded away in the nirvana of the service desert. “Anyone can come there,” was the answer. Yes, exactly, for example paying regular customers. By the way, the service seemed slightly annoyed when the two of us initially only ordered one drink - probably because the margin when using the discount card is already small and you want to compensate for this with drinks or further orders. A rogue who thinks evil of it. This is not how you treat regular customers. You don't really treat guests like that. Unfriendly, stubborn and unfriendly. Of course we left - we didn't want to pay the full price for this "hospitality". Without further ado, we went to Café Griessbach. Lo and behold: Forgot your ID? No problem! The “Dresden for Friends” app was accepted without any problems, the service was friendly and courteous. They were happy about our presence and our money. This is how customer service works! Here you feel that guests are welcome, even if a piece of plastic or paper is missing. Conclusion: The Kitzo Alpenstübel in Gompitz definitely scared us away as long-time regulars with this promotion. If you like pedantic rules instead of genuine hospitality and a touch of arrogance, you might be in the right place here. Everyone else should give this establishment a wide berth and prefer to go somewhere where you are still valued as a guest. Maybe the operators of the Alpenstübel should book a customer orientation workshop there. Do you also need ID for this?

Delicious food, attentive service

A good address in Dresden to eat something at a fair price. We have eaten there several times and have been satisfied every time. Plenty of portions, a rustic atmosphere and a nice terrace. We'd love to come back

There were two of us there. Once we ordered the Argentinian steak for €30. Portion was very small, the steak was 130g if at all. The accompanying fried potatoes and steak were only just lukewarm and the salad that came with it in a specially brought bowl had probably been in the kitchen since early morning. My companion ordered the pork knuckle. The crust was impossible to penetrate with the sharp knives and the meat was neither soft nor falling apart as it should be. Instead it felt like a pork steak that had been in the pan too long. Difficult to chew and swallow. We were disappointed with the food and couldn't finish everything. Portions too small and the food not good. Above all, the prices are not justified for the portions. I can also do the same thing from the supermarket for €5-10 and fill my hunger twice as quickly. The ambience was pleasant and the service was fine. We asked the waiter about the food. At first he didn't really know how to handle it and then just gave us something else to eat. So if you want the feeling of the Alps you can come here, but we can't recommend it for food.

I recently visited this restaurant and loved it! The dishes were exceptionally tasty and carefully prepared. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very welcoming and pleasant, which made the visit even better. The staff was friendly and attentive which made the service excellent. We have been to KITZO several times and, as always, we felt at home in the typical Alpine atmosphere. You really can't go wrong with the dishes. There should be something for all tastes. If desired, the dishes can also be modified according to personal preferences. We'd love to come back.
