KITZO Alpenstüberl´ in Dresden

We decided to stop here for dinner today. We had one solyanka, one brewmaster schnitzel, and one steak au four. The fried potatoes and the steak au four were great, but the brewmaster schnitzel wasn't that great. It was bland, uninspiring, with no refinement (butter?), and the (frozen) peas were just "served" next to both dishes to fill them up – disappointing!! The portion size of the solyanka was also disappointing. Getting a slightly larger coffee cup for €7.10 is disappointing, because it actually tasted good. The three waiters were very friendly and attentive, and the rustic ambience is rather simple, ultimately fitting the menu...

Unfortunately, the portions are too small for the prices, or rather, the food is too expensive. The Alpenstüberl scores points for its ambiance and service.

The menu selection was tempting, the ambiance inviting, rustic, and reminiscent of a ski or hunting lodge. The disappointment came, unfortunately, when we considered the combination of prices and the food served. It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong—but the quality wasn't something that would entice the three of us back to the restaurant. And the prices are simply too steep for that. The portion sizes were unfortunately rather mediocre for the adults, but I was happy to be able to finish my little one's plate so I wouldn't leave Kitzo hungry. It's a shame; we had hoped for more.

Definitely recommended. There's plenty of space inside, and outside when the weather's nice. If you open the doors every now and then, it's not so warm inside. The staff are friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. The food is incredibly delicious and there's plenty of it. It was an all-round successful evening; I'd definitely go back.

Long waiting times and the food far too expensive

There's no value for money here. The presentation was careless, and the taste was so-so. But everyone has to try it for themselves.

Unfortunately, it wasn't that great. The food looked plentiful, but anything but tasty... I ordered the roulade with red cabbage and dumplings. The dumplings were lukewarm and definitely not homemade; they had a typical ready-made taste, as did the red cabbage. The roulade looked good and large, but it was very salty and there was an indefinable mass inside, not the bacon, cucumber, etc. that was described. It could definitely be better! The entire menu is probably a bit too expensive for typical pub food. I wouldn't recommend it!

Not nice 👎, food was okay 👌 Asparagus wasn't special. But it was good food. Service was terrible. He (the thin waiter) was just in a bad mood. He didn't smile. Nothing! NO THANKS, NO PLEASE.

The goulash was good, and so was the portion. The dumpling soup took some getting used to, as it was smoky and too "yucky" for my daughter. The cheese noodles were also "very cheesy or creamy"—really way too much of a good thing. The Kaiserschmarren (smothered pancakes) was burnt! And you could taste it! Too bad! You won't see us again in Dresden👋

I'm simply thrilled. The decor is fitting and quaintly cozy. The staff is very friendly. The food is excellent. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a digital photo. I had the roulade and my husband had the duck. Both dishes were delicious. Worth a visit.

We were regular guests at the Kitzo Alpenstübel in Dresden Gompitz for years and also enjoyed using the "Dresden for Friends" card, which now comes as a practical mobile phone app and offers the well-known "two main courses for the price of one" principle. So is the plan for today. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my wallet and therefore my physical ID at home. However, as I said, I had the “Dresden for Friends” card digitally with me in the app on my cell phone and also showed it. Years of loyalty as a regular guest? Apparently it doesn't count. The waitress insisted in a, let's say, "inflexible" and rather rude tone that the discount card would not be accepted without presenting ID. Reason: There would be “so much fraud” with it. An interesting assumption about guests who have been visiting there for years. Our explanation that people should know us faded away in the nirvana of the service desert. “Anyone can come there,” was the answer. Yes, exactly, for example paying regular customers. By the way, the service seemed slightly annoyed when the two of us initially only ordered one drink - probably because the margin when using the discount card is already small and you want to compensate for this with drinks or further orders. A rogue who thinks evil of it. This is not how you treat regular customers. You don't really treat guests like that. Unfriendly, stubborn and unfriendly. Of course we left - we didn't want to pay the full price for this "hospitality". Without further ado, we went to Café Griessbach. Lo and behold: Forgot your ID? No problem! The “Dresden for Friends” app was accepted without any problems, the service was friendly and courteous. They were happy about our presence and our money. This is how customer service works! Here you feel that guests are welcome, even if a piece of plastic or paper is missing. Conclusion: The Kitzo Alpenstübel in Gompitz definitely scared us away as long-time regulars with this promotion. If you like pedantic rules instead of genuine hospitality and a touch of arrogance, you might be in the right place here. Everyone else should give this establishment a wide berth and prefer to go somewhere where you are still valued as a guest. Maybe the operators of the Alpenstübel should book a customer orientation workshop there. Do you also need ID for this?

Delicious food, attentive service

A good address in Dresden to eat something at a fair price. We have eaten there several times and have been satisfied every time. Plenty of portions, a rustic atmosphere and a nice terrace. We'd love to come back

There were two of us there. Once we ordered the Argentinian steak for €30. Portion was very small, the steak was 130g if at all. The accompanying fried potatoes and steak were only just lukewarm and the salad that came with it in a specially brought bowl had probably been in the kitchen since early morning. My companion ordered the pork knuckle. The crust was impossible to penetrate with the sharp knives and the meat was neither soft nor falling apart as it should be. Instead it felt like a pork steak that had been in the pan too long. Difficult to chew and swallow. We were disappointed with the food and couldn't finish everything. Portions too small and the food not good. Above all, the prices are not justified for the portions. I can also do the same thing from the supermarket for €5-10 and fill my hunger twice as quickly. The ambience was pleasant and the service was fine. We asked the waiter about the food. At first he didn't really know how to handle it and then just gave us something else to eat. So if you want the feeling of the Alps you can come here, but we can't recommend it for food.

I recently visited this restaurant and loved it! The dishes were exceptionally tasty and carefully prepared. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very welcoming and pleasant, which made the visit even better. The staff was friendly and attentive which made the service excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious food and a cozy environment!

We have been to KITZO several times and, as always, we felt at home in the typical Alpine atmosphere. You really can't go wrong with the dishes. There should be something for all tastes. If desired, the dishes can also be modified according to personal preferences. We'd love to come back.

We really enjoy coming to this restaurant, the staff is attentive and customer-oriented, and the guest's wishes are taken seriously and implemented. We were served by Felix on our last visit and felt very comfortable! Also a big thank you to the entire operating staff and the kitchen. As a guest you also see the overall package and that is definitely true here!

We had dinner for Valentine's Day and were kindly given a table for two as a table became available in 2 minutes. We describe the food as “rustically simple”, my Braumeisterschnitzel and the peas were definitely from the frost, unfortunately not acceptable for the price. When I cut the stuffed schnitzel, water came out instead of creamy cheese. The starters (Camembert, Bruschetta) were fine and very filling. The atmosphere is pleasant, clean, but noisy and not really comfortable.

Found this location after a session. A thoroughly thought-out ambience concept from the outside as well as the inside. The service was very attentive and competent. When the food came it looked very appealing. The taste was also perfect. No wish remained unfulfilled. All in all you can only give this 5 stars.

Diesmal waren wir enttäuscht: die Roulade war hart, ebenso der Schweinebraten. Das Dessert -Bayrische Creme- enthielt große Melonenstreifen, die kaum kultiviert zu essen waren. Schade. Aber wir kommen trotzdem wieder.

Rustic restaurant, like in an Austrian mountain lodge. The food tasted very good and the portions were generous (we had the DFF menu). Service friendly. Reserve seats if possible!

Unfortunately no recommendation. The mountain cheese was a run-of-the-mill cheese like I get in every discount store, the olives served with it were straight from the fridge, as were the grapes. The grapes that had already started to rot were also overlooked. It doesn't work at all. The argument that both have to be stored cold for hygiene reasons does not mean that they have to be served that cold. The baguette that came with it was sticky, cold and not fresh. That's better. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Friendly, fast service. We had a veal schnitzel and wanted fries as a side dish, which was easy to swap. The side salad was also large. The quantity is enough for even those who are very hungry.

Decent home cooking is served in a rustic wooden ambience. Very cozy, a bit dark in some places because there is no daylight. Lots of space, at peak times it is advisable to reserve for larger groups (actually as logical as everywhere else). We like coming here. Also with outdoor area in the open-air season. Highly recommended

Beautifully organized family celebration looked after by great service staff. The buffet dinner was more than sufficient and very tasty. We will definitely do it again when the opportunity arises.

Very nice atmosphere. The service is quite friendly and despite there being a lot of guests, the food was delivered promptly. However, the quality of the food does not reach the quality you get in Austria. Since we had recently been in Austria, it was unfortunately very noticeable. In our opinion, the mixture of spices is not really right. And every now and then there are also “special” own creations. E.g. sautéed onions on the cheese spazzle instead of classic fried onions. There is a lot of catching up to do, especially when it comes to cheese spazzle. It tastes quite bland, the portion is quite small and is significantly too expensive (€13.90). As an adult man, you have to eat at least 2 portions to be halfway full (including an appetizer). Last but not least, to mention something positive, the schnitzels on offer are said to be very good. Addendum from 12/25/24 Cheese spaetzle still small, but a little more than in the photo from the first visit. However, the taste is much better than the first time. Very rustic. Good menu. The food was sensational if you love rustic food. We ate pork knuckle. We only eat pork knuckle once a year...the last two times in Bavaria in designated pork knuckle restaurants...But the one at Kitzo was the best in a long time. We'll be back! Our tip: If you want a specific table, be sure to order it in advance! The Kitzo is very popular! Also because of the very friendly staff and the good portions.

Delicious food and very cozy atmosphere. The restaurant was completely full and the service was still relaxed and in a good mood. The food came very quickly and was hot. The beef tenderloin was on point. Only the dessert - Quark-Käulchen - was disappointing. Two mini small particles with lots of fruit. Although tasty, it's nowhere near what I want (for a fairly high price).

The cuisine is apparently good (certainly not upscale gourmet cuisine but absolutely honest and fine). The prices go too. It is therefore also recommended for larger groups).

This year's St. Martin's goose dinner took place here. We had a free table reserved for the two of us just a few days beforehand. In the evening the restaurant was well filled, which doesn't detract from the atmosphere. On the contrary. The order, the drinks, the food and especially the quality of the food were very good. The amount on the plate was decent. The staff was friendly. All in all, we will definitely come back after this first visit here. The menu still has a lot of surprises to offer.

Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. I had a starter, smoked salmon with potato pancakes. The potato pancakes are soggy and half the plate is full of pickled vegetables from the jar. Unfortunately that doesn't fit at all! A fresh salad would have been appropriate. Service was OK.

Rustic furnishings, several separate rooms, parking spaces in front of the house, as well as bus and tram stops. Which I find extremely practical! The service is also very friendly and goes along with every practical joke. The food portions are generous and tasty. But I would have liked to have had background music in the separate area where we had a class reunion!

Absolutely recommended, we were there with 15 people for lunch on a Sunday (reservation of course). Very warm, friendly welcome. Despite different dishes, everything came to the table at the same time. Portions large enough, taste great. Big praise to the young lady for the attentive service, also big praise to the kitchen crew. We would love to come back.

Nice and cozy restaurant, friendly service, although there seemed to be tensions between individual employees. There was leek in the cheese spaetzle, which unfortunately I didn't like and in my opinion didn't belong there, and the onions were a little too raw for my taste. I would pay attention to this on a next visit. But the rest of the food was good! Requests were addressed without any problem.
