Ich saß dort im Sommer 2016 ungefähr 18 Minuten bei Hitze und habe kein Bier bekommen ich musste erst von draußen vom Biergarten im Restaurant anrufen um etwas zu trinken bestellen zu können @ und ganz ekelerregend ist es wenn man außen an der Küche vorbei läuft alles völlig verkeimt, ich würde nie auf den Gedanken kommen dort jemals etwas zu essen

It was my first time there and I was very pleasantly surprised. Despite the busy restaurant, the service was very nice and quick. Fresh food, but only about 25-30 minutes waiting time. Nobody leaves here hungry and at very reasonable prices. We'll be back.

We went there by chance the first time and came back the next day because the food and beer were delicious.

The Ratskeller here in Altenburg is of course the place that most people like to visit and is certainly popular with tourists too. The food tastes good and is visually beautifully presented, because as we all know, the eye eats with us. I personally don't want to complain about anything here, because everyone should form their own opinion about the food and service. ..unfortunately it happened several times that we weren't completely satisfied with everything, that's why ONLY 4 stars 😉

I enjoyed an excellent service. The food and drinks like wines and beer are local and very tasty. It is a nice place to enjoy the atmosphere outside of the old market or inside in the traditional room.

What can I say... Very tasty. I want to eat chanterelle cream soup again. The lamb shank was very juicy with a delicious side dish. Very nice service. I want to come back. Thank you for the great time.

The council soup is far too small and didn't taste particularly good. The carrots and cauliflower were uncooked and I think €7 for 2 spoonfuls of soup is way too expensive. Was like an herbal tea.

Historical atmosphere, cozy and yet modern

The food here is very tasty and has always tasted really good. The waitresses are friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. Prices are a bit high, but that's just how it is.

We had business and were hungry between two appointments and it's hard to find a restaurant with lunch in the region during the week, but if you want traditional cuisine with modern cuisine, this is the place for you. Prices are in the upper range for the region but portions are large very good and tasty, very polite and courteous staff. A visit is very worthwhile because the ambience is also nice.

We had ordered a table for Friday June 14th weeks in advance. When we arrived we were told that that couldn't be the case because Classic Open Air was taking place and eating was only possible if you had tickets for the concert. We come from 450 km away, how would we know that? Nobody said anything to us on the phone when we made the reservation. Then we were allowed to sit on the terrace, but only until 7:00 p.m. (it was 5:20 p.m.). Then the waiter came and said: Well, we have to be quick, you have to be gone by 7 p.m. What kind of way is that to deal with guests? We ate the roulade. A matter of taste; It didn't suit our taste. The prices for the food are too high, the price-performance ratio is not right. A pity.

We had reserved in advance for 6 people on Saturday, May 25th, 2024. The establishment was well attended and our table was assigned to us straight away. The ambience is a mixture of old and modern, which is quite well coordinated and fits the Gadtraum. The service was good at the beginning, but unfortunately it changed with every course (my wife's starter was missing a side dish, then the main course had potatoes instead of the ones she had ordered, but the croquettes were brought and the cocktail (Lillet with fruit) was only served with one Served with a drinking straw through which the fruit simply doesn't fit. The request for a spoon was ignored. The food itself was really very good, but the overall experience was greatly marred by the constant mistakes .Kleinert.

We had a family celebration with lunch, a city tour, a historical hairdressing salon in Altenburg. At short notice, it was still possible to have dinner in the Ratskeller with 18 people in the evening. The service, the food, the excellent service was top. Excellent cuisine!!!! Simply great gastronomy and a great day for us! We recommend! We will be back:)

Unfortunately we were rudely turned away at 8:30 p.m. on the grounds that there was no more food. However, the opening time is until 10 p.m. It's a shame Sting came out of the speakers and we would have loved to stay.

Delicious food and always worth a visit. However, the prices (even in the current situation) have increased quite a bit when you compare them to other restaurants. This could probably be recalculated again.

Went to a birthday dinner in the Ratskeller today. Were received politely. Staff very friendly. Food is very tasty and rich. Prices are reasonable. There are plenty of parking spaces available in the area, free on Sundays. Weekdays and Saturdays until 12 p.m. with parking fee. We'd love to come back.

I was there at the Ratskeller on a Sunday (open 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) at around 1:30 p.m. Didn't have a reservation but still got a table. The service was extremely friendly and courteous and tried very hard to please the guests. I had the Thuringian Rostbrätl as my main course. The dish was very tasty and more than enough for me. For dessert I ordered the Despresso Trio and Cappucino. The dessert was excellent, the sweetness and acidity were brilliantly combined. The prices are fully justified by the excellent quality. The rustic atmosphere invites you to linger longer. The toilets were clean and nothing was missing. Would go again and again.

Im Rahmen eines runden Geburtstages haben wir für 46 Personen ein Catering im Ratskeller bestellt. Von der Planung bis zur Ausführung lief alles perfekt. Unsere Gäste und wir waren von dem leckeren Buffet begeistert- gerne wieder!

Feeding like a mother is possible here. But this chef completely puts away nuts. The food from the starter to the main course and dessert was just WOW. The location is super well maintained, but still rustic to feel at home. The service completes it. Friendly, fast and you can tell they do it with passion. Thanks for the experience on Sunday. We will come again and bring friends.

A nice atmosphere and large, tasty portions

The food was delicious, but they brought my daughters food a good half hour before the other 4 meals. The lady serving was also adamant that I couldn't have roast potatoes with my liver. I must have sweet potatoes she said, which I don't like. I just ordered an extra portion of roast potatoes to keep the peace(and off the sweet potatoes went back at the end).😕

Ich bin wegen einem Seminar in Altenburg und wollte Abends etwas essen gehen. Ich entschied mich für den Ratskeller und bin happy. Alleine essen zu gehen ist manchmal schwierig, aber hier nicht! Ich bekam einen netten Platz am Tresen, wo ich ab und zu freundlich angesprochen wurde. Kein Toilettentisch, nicht auf dem Präsentierteller, einfach perfekt. Das habe ich schon ganz anders erlebt! Das Essen war auch gut und ich fühle mich richtig wohl. Garantiert komme ich nächste Woche wieder!

Wir waren sonntags zu Mittag dort. Es war ein guter Gedanke einen Tisch zu reservieren. Die Lokalität ist sehr sauber und hat ein gepflegtes historisches Ambiente. Das Essen ist ausreichend und von empfehlenswerter Qualität. Das Personal ist höflich und zuvorkommend. Aber nicht aufdringlich. Gerne wieder.

Ich war mit meiner Familie.Alle waren voll des Lobes über das Essen und die Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich. Nur ich hatte wiedermal etwas zu meckern. Das Gemüse zum Lachs mit Avocadokruste war fürchterlich. Sorry!

Ein wunderbares Essen und solch zauberhaftes , bestens gelauntes Personal . Jederzeit wieder. Eine absolute Empfehlung.

Leider hat uns das Restaurant nicht überzeugt. Wir kamen spontan* um 19.00 Uhr an und wurden mit den Worten empfangen, dass alle Tische besetzt seien. Das war ein schlechter Witz, denn vom Eingangsbereich aus waren mehrere freie Tische zu sehen, die während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts (2 Stunden) leer blieben. Wir bekamen dann doch bereitwillig, aber begleitet von Erklärungen, einen Tisch für 6 Personen zugewiesen. Das Personal schaffte es trotz des offensichtlichen Stresses irgendwie freundlich zu bleiben. War aber trotzdem unpassend. Minus: Es ist auch gegen Aufpreis nicht möglich gewesen, Beilagen zu tauschen (Manchmal sind einem Salzkartoffeln lieber als fertige Mandelbällchen aus der Metro). Minus: Die Vorspeisenteller wurden mit der Anmerkung, dass "die in der Küche Stress machen" und die Hauptgänge schon fertig seien, überstürzt abgeräumt. Die Krönung: 5 von 6 waren mit dem Essen fertig und man fing an, den Tisch abzuräumen. Das geht gar nicht! Dann fiel der Dame beim Abräumen auch noch ein Messer vom Teller direkt auf den Teller der Person, die noch aß. Mahlzeit! Fazit: Das beste Essen nützt nichts, wenn der Service sich so benimmt. Da das günstigste Hauptgericht mehr als 24 Euro kostete (ein Würzfleisch inzwischen saftige 10 Euro) muss das Gesamtpaket stimmen. Sonst komme Gäste nicht wieder und gönnen sich andernorts einen Restaurantbesuch. *PS: Wir kamen für das Restaurant spontan vorbei. Wir hatten online reserviert. Trotz der Möglichkeit online zu reservieren, wurden wir belehrt, dass das Büro nicht besetzt sei, die E-Mail wohl auch nicht ankam und außerdem sei anrufen ja immer besser.

Klassisches Ambiente mit schnellem Service und sehr schmackhaften Gerichten.

Ein sehr gutes Essen, eine nette und kompetente Bedienung in einem sehr alten und schönen Gebäude (das Rathaus von Altenburg). Nicht günstig, aber für das, was geboten wird, mehr als angemessen ‼️

Service ist freundlich, aber gestresst, was der Gast nicht mitbekommen sollte. Das Hauptgericht (Hirschkalbskeule mit Waldpilzen und Mandelbällchen) war leider sehr versalzen. Eine Person muss sich leider in der Ernährung stark einschränken. Dies wurde vorab besprochen. Das kreierte Gericht enttäuschte jedoch sehr: verbratenes Hähnchenfilet mit Salzkartoffeln und Karottenwürfeln.. sehr lieb- und farblos angerichtet. Ohne Soße o.Ä. sehr trocken. Das Hacker Pschorr wie in den Vorjahren auch diesmal wieder schal. Konstruktive Kritik wurde vom Service angenommen, von der Restaurantleitung oder aus der Küche kam jedoch keinerlei Reaktion. Insgesamt bei jährlich steigenden Preisen leider ab kommendem Jahr keine Option mehr für uns.

Der Ratskeller ist immer wieder eine gute Wahl. Wir waren am 1.Advent mit der ganzen Familie da. Es hat alles wieder alles sehr gut und reichlich, immer ansprechend serviert. Und die Bedienung auch im Stress freundlich und locker.

Kann man nur Empfehlen Promte Bedienung

Sehr kinderfreundlich, Buntstifte und Ausmalbild kommt ohne Nachfrage. Trinkbecher mit Strohhalm und Deckel. Essen top. Sehr freundliches Personal.

Wir saßen in einer zugigen Ecke und das Ambiente war wie in einer Halle. Ich fand es nicht schön. Das kleine Stück Fleisch war mit einer Unmenge von Zwiebeln zugedeckt - naja, definitiv mein letzter Besuch

Nette Bedienung am Tisch, aber Restaurantleiter ziemlich pampig und unfreundlich. Im Restaurant waren nur zwei Tische besetzt und es war ca 17:45. Auf die Frage, ob man im schönen Saal einen Tisch für 4 bekommen kann, wurde nach kurzer Beratung im Team dies abgelehnt. Alle Tische waren reserviert, kein Mensch da. Als wir gingen saßen erst neu zwei Mädels an der Bar. Die ganze Zeit quatschen die 5 Kellner und langweilen sich sichtlich. Insgesamt armseliger Service. Auf meine Frage hin sagte die doch recht freundliche Kellnerin sehr leise, dass man da nichts ändern könne. Daumen hoch und weiter so!

Essen Qualität gut, leider etwas teurer als in der Gegend üblich. Service sehr freundlich also gut, wenn man nicht eine viertel Stunde vor Feierabend genötigt werden würde endlich zu bezahlen und "endlich zu verschwinden".

Ich habe eine gute Mittagsmahlzeit erwartet und es war auch sehr gut. Bedienung ist so wie ich es erwartet habe und ich war froh einen Tisch bestellt zu haben.

Also eins vorweg, die telefonische Reservierung und die Küche war absolut super, ärgerlich hingegen die "Begrüßung" des Persoonals, welches uns sehr deutlich zu verstehen gab, nicht einfach in die Lokalität einzutreten, sondern an einem Aufsteller zu warten, bis man platziert wird. Der Hinweis, man würde den Überblick verlieren, war insofern witzig, da es noch gar keine Kundschaft gab...Zeit 17:00 Uhr. Egal....eine Stunde später, spielte besagter Aufsteller keine Rolle mehr....als Gast bleibt halt ein Eindruck.

Seit langem waren wir wieder einmal im Ratskeller. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Bestellt wurde Wiener Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und Erbsen. Leider pure Tiefkühlerbsen, die Bratkartoffeln waren gekochte Kartoffelstückchen welche die Bratpfanne vielleicht nur mal kurz durchlaufen haben. Einzig das Schnitzel war ok. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier nicht. Schade, aber dieses Restaurant zählt nicht mehr zu unserer ersten Wahl. Schade ums Geld.

Zum Essen immer eine Empfehlung...
