I have to be honest. I liked the setup that was before. Wanted to give everyone another chance, but the chairs get really hard after a while. I don't like the glass tables at all. The waitress we had, I have to be honest, if I was really friendly sad but true and the food was without an absolute disaster, the one meal was perhaps undercooked? And with mine I looked for things that were minimal. All in all, I'm really very disappointed. It really used to be much, much better and I really enjoyed going there. It was a big disillusionment and, above all, the price-performance ratio isn't really right, but I really need it

Oh, I stopped by the Ratskeller again and, even after Christmas, treated myself to the goose breast with lamb and red cabbage. There was a dish on the offering board. It was super tasty and the plate also came with a carafe of extra sauce. The service was again very nice. Hopefully the next visit won't be long in coming.

Essen ganz okay, sehr teuer. Leber teilweise noch roh. Leider nur eine nette Bedienung.Sie war wohl auch die einzige, die kellnern kann. Im angeblich ersten Haus am Platz mit entsprechenden Preisen war eine Bedienung in dicker Strickjacke unterwegs, reichte Essen quer über den Tisch... geht gar nicht. Würde nicht wieder hingehen. Akustik für Hörgeräte Träger nicht geeignet.

I can only repeat myself... The Ratskeller is worth a visit!!

It's really a great restaurant, the food is great, but the prices defy description. It doesn't have to be huge portions, it's better to make them smaller, but cheaper, and you can also manage a dessert.

Ich saß dort im Sommer 2016 ungefähr 18 Minuten bei Hitze und habe kein Bier bekommen ich musste erst von draußen vom Biergarten im Restaurant anrufen um etwas zu trinken bestellen zu können @ und ganz ekelerregend ist es wenn man außen an der Küche vorbei läuft alles völlig verkeimt, ich würde nie auf den Gedanken kommen dort jemals etwas zu essen

It was my first time there and I was very pleasantly surprised. Despite the busy restaurant, the service was very nice and quick. Fresh food, but only about 25-30 minutes waiting time. Nobody leaves here hungry and at very reasonable prices. We'll be back.

The Ratskeller here in Altenburg is of course the place that most people like to visit and is certainly popular with tourists too. The food tastes good and is visually beautifully presented, because as we all know, the eye eats with us. I personally don't want to complain about anything here, because everyone should form their own opinion about the food and service. ..unfortunately it happened several times that we weren't completely satisfied with everything, that's why ONLY 4 stars 😉

The council soup is far too small and didn't taste particularly good. The carrots and cauliflower were uncooked and I think €7 for 2 spoonfuls of soup is way too expensive. Was like an herbal tea.

We had business and were hungry between two appointments and it's hard to find a restaurant with lunch in the region during the week, but if you want traditional cuisine with modern cuisine, this is the place for you. Prices are in the upper range for the region but portions are large very good and tasty, very polite and courteous staff. A visit is very worthwhile because the ambience is also nice.

We had ordered a table for Friday June 14th weeks in advance. When we arrived we were told that that couldn't be the case because Classic Open Air was taking place and eating was only possible if you had tickets for the concert. We come from 450 km away, how would we know that? Nobody said anything to us on the phone when we made the reservation. Then we were allowed to sit on the terrace, but only until 7:00 p.m. (it was 5:20 p.m.). Then the waiter came and said: Well, we have to be quick, you have to be gone by 7 p.m. What kind of way is that to deal with guests? We ate the roulade. A matter of taste; It didn't suit our taste. The prices for the food are too high, the price-performance ratio is not right. A pity.

We had reserved in advance for 6 people on Saturday, May 25th, 2024. The establishment was well attended and our table was assigned to us straight away. The ambience is a mixture of old and modern, which is quite well coordinated and fits the Gadtraum. The service was good at the beginning, but unfortunately it changed with every course (my wife's starter was missing a side dish, then the main course had potatoes instead of the ones she had ordered, but the croquettes were brought and the cocktail (Lillet with fruit) was only served with one Served with a drinking straw through which the fruit simply doesn't fit. The request for a spoon was ignored. The food itself was really very good, but the overall experience was greatly marred by the constant mistakes .Kleinert.

We had a family celebration with lunch, a city tour, a historical hairdressing salon in Altenburg. At short notice, it was still possible to have dinner in the Ratskeller with 18 people in the evening. The service, the food, the excellent service was top. Excellent cuisine!!!! Simply great gastronomy and a great day for us! We recommend! We will be back:)

Unfortunately we were rudely turned away at 8:30 p.m. on the grounds that there was no more food. However, the opening time is until 10 p.m. It's a shame Sting came out of the speakers and we would have loved to stay.

Went to a birthday dinner in the Ratskeller today. Were received politely. Staff very friendly. Food is very tasty and rich. Prices are reasonable. There are plenty of parking spaces available in the area, free on Sundays. Weekdays and Saturdays until 12 p.m. with parking fee. We'd love to come back.

I was there at the Ratskeller on a Sunday (open 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) at around 1:30 p.m. Didn't have a reservation but still got a table. The service was extremely friendly and courteous and tried very hard to please the guests. I had the Thuringian Rostbrätl as my main course. The dish was very tasty and more than enough for me. For dessert I ordered the Despresso Trio and Cappucino. The dessert was excellent, the sweetness and acidity were brilliantly combined. The prices are fully justified by the excellent quality. The rustic atmosphere invites you to linger longer. The toilets were clean and nothing was missing. Would go again and again.

Im Rahmen eines runden Geburtstages haben wir für 46 Personen ein Catering im Ratskeller bestellt. Von der Planung bis zur Ausführung lief alles perfekt. Unsere Gäste und wir waren von dem leckeren Buffet begeistert- gerne wieder!

Feeding like a mother is possible here. But this chef completely puts away nuts. The food from the starter to the main course and dessert was just WOW. The location is super well maintained, but still rustic to feel at home. The service completes it. Friendly, fast and you can tell they do it with passion. Thanks for the experience on Sunday. We will come again and bring friends.
