A must for us every time we stay in Oberstdorf and we have never been disappointed. The ambience is a bit upscale, but without being aloof. Very nice interior, delicious food of a high standard and very friendly staff.
Of course, people can have different opinions about the decor of the restaurant. I, for one, would have expected white tablecloths and traditionally set tables. Instead, the tables are as bare and cold as in a fast food restaurant, so that despite the somewhat old-fashioned crane wallpaper, you didn't get the feeling of sitting in a very good restaurant. The ventilation of the room was good, but it was very cool, which was not changed even at our request. Blessed is the one who wore a jacket and vest.
The 16-course meal was very good and worth the money. They were all beautiful little culinary works of art with excellent taste.
The food wasn't too much; you could definitely have used a little cheese at the end.
The head chef didn't show herself. The staff was attentive, friendly and professional. What wasn't convincing was the “Sommeliers Special Wine Accompaniment” (7 wines for €245). They may have been expensive wines, but in terms of taste, only two of them were such that you wanted to drink them. The sommelier poured two different red wines into the same glass. I didn't know anything like that before.
A digestif was not offered at the end; It was obvious that people wanted to call it a day.
Conclusion: I don't regret visiting the "Alois", but I only found the price-performance ratio to be partially good and I won't go there again.
The restaurant has one of the intriguing , edgy, modern decor I have seen with
High ceilings among the restaurant really add to the overall ambience.
I have concluded the les serveurs / waiters you see in a restaurant really set the dining experience and the dishes you will expect in a restaurant.
The food is pretty good, and edgy. Has seasonal changes, I remembered the two colour soups and the beef steak well. Superb
At this point of writing, I saw it was closed. A pity
We were guests in the gourmet restaurant. At first glance it's beautifully newly renovated. However, the rooms seem a bit overloaded, you get the impression that they have tried to accommodate all the current trends. About the food: From my experience, a rather average star restaurant. Some very wild flavor combinations, whole tomatoes as decoration on the plate??? Dessert: A mini sorbet with an ambiguous taste drowned in 3/4 cream...
Guests in hiking boots and shorts in the star restaurant??? My wine accompaniment to the main course came after my plate was empty...
We would like to thank you for the wonderful evening.
Very nice service, who welcomed us warmly shortly after entering the store and showed us to our table.
Exceptional dishes and decoratively arranged plates were accompanied by delicious wines.
Thanks to the Eno team and see you next time.
Eye-watering prices for the food. 5 course meal for two along with a bottle of wine was nearing 500€ bill… the entrance to the restaurant is awkward, passing through a narrow and very squeaky door to enter- not fitting my expectations when paying this much for dinner. Our server missed to mention that the “vegetarian” soup contained beef stock. Embarrassing
The individual nature of the different courses stands out in details and is usually accompanied by an attentive look from Ms. Malathounis. What we particularly liked was the large selection of good Greek wines. Here you can feel decades of experience at a high level. A thoroughly successful evening with great hosts, thank you very much.
Thank you very much for the lovely evening. It was one of our favorite restaurant experiences.
We were personally and warmly welcomed by one of the two chefs. The restaurant is small and plays soft music. In each of the 4 courses you could choose from one of two dishes. We also had non-alcoholic wine and sparkling wine.
Each of the dishes was not only excellent in terms of craftsmanship, it was also creative, with unexpected nuances that combined beautiful flavors on the fork, such as rice pudding foam with leeks in the dessert.
The restaurant is not an assembly line, every plate is prepared with love, but in our opinion the price is absolutely fair.
We have definitely put it on our wishlist and would like to come back again.
Wirklich schade.
