Löwenwirtschaft in Oberstdorf

Gestern Abend zum Essen hier gewesen. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und richtig begeistert von den Nachspeisen. Mitten im Ort also fußläufig zu erreichen.

Essen war sehr lecker - der Service war leider weniger auf diesem Niveau. Hier darf einfach mehr Aufmerksamkeit und Ruhe im Umgang mit dem Gast gepflegt werden. Vor allem in einer Gegend wie dem Allgäu und bei der Preisklasse.

Außerordentlich gut. Alles auf den Punkt gegart und gut gewürzt. Etwas teurer als andere, aber jeden Cent wert.

Eines der besseren Restaurants in Oberstdorf. Leider konnten uns die Nachspeisen nicht überzeugen.

Wirklich sehr sehr gutes Essen (insb. der Krustenbraten). Dafür war es preislich auch völlig angemessen. Die Bedienung war super zuverlässig und höflich. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen!

Eine moderne eingerichtete Gaststätte mit einigen Traditionen wie alte Skiern usw.geschmückt. Services war leider ungewöhnlich lang... braucht fast 45 min.um das Essen zu bekommen.

Ich hatte den Zwiebelrostbraten und war sehr zufrieden. Wir waren Mittag dort und hatten fast freier Tisch Auswahl. Es wurde sich gut um uns gekümmert.

Super Essen, Service und Ambiente. Kann mich wirklich nicht beschweren. Schnitzel für den Preis auch eine wirklich ordentliche Portion, nur weiterzuempfehlen!

Fast perfekt zu fairem Preis. Das Hirschragout und gebackene Schweineschnitzel können wir empfehlen die Käsespätzle aber leider nicht.

Top Essen, Top Wein, Top Service!

Einfach "gut". Alpiner Style trifft auf Moderne. Super Essen, tolles Ambiente und freundlicher Service. Selbst die Plätze vor dem Haus animieren zum Verweilen.

Der Zwiebelrostbraten und das Kichererbsen-Süßkartoffel-Curry mit wildem Brokkoli waren wunderbar und der Service war super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Wintercocktails und der Kaiserschmarrn sind auch sehr lecker. Wir waren sehr gerne und nicht das letzte Mal dort!

Ein tolles Ambiente und grundsätzlich sehr freundliche und bemühte Service-Mitarbeitende! Das Essen war auch sehr lecker und ansprechend dekoriert. Wir hatten leider das Pech, das eine andere, größere Gruppe Aufmerksamkeit brauchte. Daher haben wir 25 Minuten gewartet, bis wir überhaupt eine Bestellung aufgeben konnten. Als dann endlich das Wasser kam, wurde zeitnah das Essen dann vor dem Wein serviert... Dafür gab's ein Likörchen aufs Haus...

Sehr sehr schick eingerichtetes Restaurant, der urig und man fühlt sich richtig wohl. Der Kellner war überaus zuvorkommend und das Essen war wirklich sehr sehr gut! Sehr zu empfehlen

Ein Geschmacksfeuerwerk der Sinne. Feinste Speisen in alpinem Ambiente. Saisonal wechselnde Karte, aber immer für jeden Gourmet etwas dabei.

Wir haben eigentlich ein Restaurant erwarte das wie so viele in Touristen-Hotspots ein Essen anbieten das einen ordentlichen Eindruck hinterlässt. Mehr aber nicht. Aber in diesem Restaurant hat für uns alles mehr als gestimmt. Der Service, sehr zuvorkommend und super freundlich, nicht gekünstelt. Das Essen, Schnitzel in Butterschmalz gebacken und im anderen Essen alles frisch gemacht. Großes Kompliment. Das Ambiente ist modern-rustikal. Das ist Geschmacksache, uns gefällt es. Mehr ist nicht dazu zu sagen Bitte liebe Betreier. Behaltet dieses Niveau. Dieses Restaurant ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Today was a complete disaster. We received wine in carafes but forgot the glasses. The food was only moderately seasoned. I'd say someone forgot the glasses, and I mean the salt, of course. But the worst thing was that after we ordered, while we were eating, the price of the handwritten daily recommendation was changed. We were asked to pay a higher price, which is obviously a no-go! We didn't do that! The tester deserves one Michelin star, but...! We'll never get another one.

The food was incredibly delicious. Very quiet, and the service was very friendly and professional. 🙂

A great restaurant. I highly recommend the giant schnitzel and the fried chicken salad. Unfortunately, it's not exactly cheap. Very good and friendly service. Unfortunately, you can't see the mountains from the terrace, but it's still a beautiful area.

I'd always eat outside before, but this year, due to the weather, I sat inside. The ambiance was wonderful, and it made me feel right at home. The service was incredibly attentive, friendly, and everything went very quickly. The food was very good and the value for money was good. Regarding parking: Since the restaurant is located in the center of town, there are no parking spaces available.

If any chefs ever read this, I want you to cook at my wedding reception. I love your food.

When I didn't want to order anything because it was too expensive (0.25L = €4.50), the waitress gave me a dirty look. Unfortunately, it was very clear that the waitress (middle-aged, short blonde hair) didn't enjoy her job. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous, but the lack of friendliness ruined the experience. I won't eat here again. There are good food options elsewhere with friendly staff. P.S. Despite repeated requests, we waited 30 minutes for the bill. Therefore, no tip was given. Not recommended.

Refined and delicious. We had dinner for two, and everything was very elaborate and delicious. An added bonus was the asparagus in a crêpe coat and the salmon tartare, which were simply excellent. The setting is intelligently local, warm, and elegant. We were served by a motivated and attentive young woman. I highly recommend this restaurant for a unique experience. PS: Don't forget the desserts!

A must for us every time we stay in Oberstdorf and we have never been disappointed. The ambience is a bit upscale, but without being aloof. Very nice interior, delicious food of a high standard and very friendly staff.

Every year this restaurant was the culmination of our vacation. Today we were completely ignored for half an hour while the staff milled around haphazardly. Then we left again - and won't come back.

Unfortunately I can't judge the food. We had made a reservation and were then seated in a friendly manner - that was all. No menu, no drink, there was staff, but planned action looks different. After half an hour we left. We've been here many times but we've never experienced it like this - it's a shame!

For me one of the best restaurants in Oberstdorf. The restaurant is bright and the tables have plenty of space. I've been there 4-5 times now, always eating different dishes and everything was really good and worth 32/34 or 36 EUR each. However, wine prices are quite high,

Had dinner here yesterday on Christmas Day (1st shift from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) there were 3 different menus. The food was delicious, unfortunately my wife's was only lukewarm but the taste was very tasty 😋 there is nothing to complain about the ambience and the service, we had a few slices of baguette bread with us as a starter which was very dry and hard, but this was resolved Easily replaced with fresh ones, thank you again for that. All in all, highly recommended 👍

The Löwen in Oberstdorf definitely has the potential for 5 stars, at least that's what I read from the prices on the menu. We've been there a few times now and unfortunately we've always left with mixed feelings. Overall, the food is really good, but the service unfortunately always dampens the mood. Any examples? It can always happen that even high-quality meat is full of fibers. But when the service asks “Was everything okay?” If you just take note of this without offering any little thing for it, then it is simply not acceptable in this price range. Or if you're eating as a couple and the wrong food is delivered due to an error in the service, so that in the end you don't have to eat together but one after the other, it's appropriate, at least in my opinion, to offer an espresso or something similar as compensation. If nothing happens, it either doesn't seem to matter whether you come back or the service is at least poorly trained in this regard. It's a shame, as already mentioned above, there's actually more potential here.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Löwenwirtshaft, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. As for the food, it was nothing short of fantastic. My husband had the deer, and he absolutely raved about it, saying it was one of the best meals he's ever had. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the dish was cooked to perfection. As for myself and our baby, we thoroughly enjoyed the schnitzel. It was crispy, tender, and incredibly flavorful—truly a comfort food masterpiece. Overall, we had a wonderful time at Löwenwirtshaft, and I can't recommend it enough. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming ambiance made for a dining experience we'll remember for a long time.

Nice restaurant! Delicious schnitzel but the fries, well.

Positive evaluation for the fine and delicate food. Moreover it’s quite unusual the interior modern space provides a rare urban atmosphere in such a small traditional village. Great location that is suited in the center of shopping district. Besides it’s also unique to know a Star Michelin chef manages the restaurant kitchen. The guests can easily find the delicious delicacy on the menu. The price is certainly not regular but worth for a try at least. But what I want to present is something specially made for a private birthday event. At first it had came up with the custom-made menu which was prepared a week ago before the event, and the next let me show you the dinning table setting had been nicely decorated with discreet service. Then finally let me show you onwards a sequence of food that are adorable and tasty. From cuisines you can identify some interesting French-German twist . It was a real treat! Good Job!

The three of us ate in the restaurant. I think I have a different take on what others have written in their reviews. The food is like any other restaurant. The prices are really steep for what you get. But this is most likely simply due to the Oberstdorf flair. We ate there last time, but that's probably because we're not the target group that's supposed to be addressed there.

I can also highly recommend this inn in Oberstdorf. A little more modern but very stylishly furnished. I can highly recommend the onion roast. Super tasty sauce. And the carpaccio with truffles was also a poem.

Reserved, traveled 30 minutes, was greeted by a stressed waiter… even though the restaurant was only half full. Unfortunately, after ordering, the waiter came back and said he couldn't serve our food in the kitchen because it would take at least 1-1.5 hours. Unfortunately we are without a drink or an offer from the restaurant… Appetizer? Bread? Drink on the house? … left again, hungry and disappointed.

The staff was completely overwhelmed. It took at least 20 minutes for a waitress to take care of us. Drinks came after about another 20 minutes (complaint was necessary). At some point the food came. So far ok. But not outstanding for me. I can't recommend the place. Too bad.

The food wasn't bad. I had the giant schnitzel with fries. The schnitzel was on top of the fries, the fries were soggy and no longer big. The service was a little off the mark. We had a full wasp alarm, one wasp after another, it was just annoying.

The food in this restaurant was good - the dishes tasted great and were beautifully presented. Unfortunately the service was a disaster. The waiters were inattentive and after 20 minutes didn't notice that we would like to order something. The menu only came when we asked and reordering drinks took even longer. Food is available until 9:30 p.m. and at this time free tables have already been cleared and set for the hotel breakfast. Which we found very disturbing. Despite the great food, we will think twice about visiting the restaurant again because of the poor service.

Only the excellent food rivals the really attentive and very friendly service. We felt completely comfortable here. That was our first, but certainly not our last visit. Thank you for this successful evening.

We were also lured with the sign “Riesenschnitzel”. It was tasty but definitely not huge. Unfortunately there are few or hardly any vegetarian dishes, so we once ordered curry without chicken. Unfortunately it was served with chicken and when the error was corrected the rest was cold and we ate separately. It can happen, but it did annoy us. The main waiter was friendly and made an effort, it seemed to us that everyone else was helping out in service for the first time. Well located restaurant with nice places on the pedestrian zone but not particularly recommended in our opinion. €6.60 for a pale rhubarb spritzer is a sad reality.

The food tasted really good. The giant schnitzel should be declared without a giant 😉 It was a shame that 25 minutes after the food was on the table The table was standing and we didn't have any drinks yet. We asked the waiter three times during that time. (Other guests received beer and other drinks during this time) The fourth time I asked, the answer was that the barrel would be changed. Maybe, but 40 minutes after ordering food and drinks it should come without being asked...

We were there for the first time today, and certainly not the last time. Very nice furnishings that walk the tightrope between modern and cozy, and super clean. We ordered the classic Jägerschnitzel with butter spaetzle and a Kaiserschmarrn. The (unbreaded) schnitzel was very good, and the Kaiserschmarrn was the best I have ever been served in Oberstdorf (after almost 100 overnight stays in the town). There was also discreet but attentive service, a perfect first impression. Thank you!

The reserved table for 2 people was only set for one person and the table was not wiped down. After 10 minutes of no one taking care of us, even though some staff were standing around chatting, we left. The restaurant wasn't very busy. Very bad service, a shame.

We were only at the bar for a drink, the service was nice and quick, but unfortunately we didn't speak any German, which is inconvenient from our point of view! The interior seemed overly modern and a bit cluttered to us.

Wonderful Bavarian ambience, very stylish and tasteful! I was greeted very friendly and was given a very nice seat even without a reservation. The cheese spaetzle was great, only topped by the delicious side salad (ordered separately). To top it all off, there was live music! Full recommendation!

Food and ambience really good as always. Unfortunately, the service was very slow and the team was not well structured. Had to ask for the bill 3 times. We had made a reservation at Berggold, but it was simply closed due to a lack of staff without telling the guest to cancel. If the restaurant had been well run, a small schnapps at the end would have been appropriate.

We have been to the Löwenwirtschaft several times for dinner. From the ambience to the offerings to the service, everything is just right here. A clear recommendation for, in my opinion, the best restaurant in Oberstdorf!

Great ambience, underground food not recommended, the crusty roast, which isn't any but just overly fatty belly meat, unfortunately the great dumplings couldn't turn it around for the better.

After a long time we returned for dinner with a reservation. Unfortunately, the wine we were hoping for wasn't available and we switched to another favorite. We ate three courses, took our time, everything was excellent. There was very little activity. Good service, chat with Ms. Strauss. All in all a successful evening.

A very nice restaurant with good service. The food tastes excellent and is very well prepared, the price-performance ratio is perfect.

The atmosphere is really very nice! Everything clean and beautifully furnished and decorated. The service from Rudolf was also great. Totally friendly, helpful and attentive - it couldn't be better! The food was very modern and attractively prepared and tasted wonderful. Actually, I only have two criticisms: everything is extremely expensive and there are almost no dishes to choose from for vegetarians or vegans (except Kässpatzen or dumplings with sauce - which isn't really creative).

Despite a huge rush and overlapping table reservations, very good service, wonderful food, tasty and fresh, also great for the children! customer friendly, nice atmosphere! The preparation of duck breast, sea bream, char and schnitzel was perfect, and the salad and side dishes were prepared to a high quality and delicious. Absolutely recommended, reservation is essential.

The Löwenwirtschaft is a must for us every time we visit Oberstdorf 😍 very lovingly and stylishly furnished (modern alpine), the food is always delicious and beautifully prepared. The staff is extremely friendly. Dogs are welcome. Always happy ☺️

After 5 hours of driving we finally arrived in Oberstdorf. Looked for a restaurant after a walk with the dog. Löwen & Strauss had space and we were happy. The staff is simply great, the menu is simply great. Honest food with a touch of star cuisine (that's next door). We want more of it - we'd love to come back on Friday. Of course the dog had something to drink before we did. We can say - pleasure economy - absolutely hits the spot here. Here, the name speaks for itself" ! Keep it up.

Had a delicious dinner with the family (6 people) this evening. The sea bass and the saddle of venison were very well prepared and tasted excellent. The same applies to the classic, the Wiener Schnitzel. The portions are decent and sufficient. We were served very friendly and attentively. It wasn't the first visit and we'll definitely be back.

Normal bavarian food, nothing special for the quite high prices they ask for. Water from the tap for 8 euros and the food is too expensive for the quality. Service was quite arrogant and unfriendly. We will not come back.

Wir (51/47/9) waren heute Abend nicht nur vom ausgezeichneten Essen begeistert! Das tolle alpenländische Ambiente ist einfach der Hammer! Die Seniorchefin (meine Vermutung😉) steht persönlich hinter der Theke und die netten Bedienungen sind super „auf Zack“. Ein schöner Abend, wir kommen sicher wieder!

Tolles Ambiente, gutes Essen. Leider war der Kellner alleine und tat mir richtig leid. Da sollte sich die Restaurantleitung etwas einfallen lassen, wenn Personalnot ist.

Service war sehr freundlich und schnell. Die Kartoffecremesuppe war ausgesprochen gut. Der Krustenbraten samt Kartoffelknödel war ebenso lecker.

Just go here when you want something that has that extra little touch. Stayed in Oberstdorf numerus times nog and this place is in a class of its own.

Verstehe die niedrige Bewertung nicht. Ich hatte den Steirischen Backhendlsalat für 16,80€ und fand den super. Ausreichend große Portion, frische Zutaten und sehr saftig. Die Bedienung ist auf Zack und freundlich. Die Lage hat uns auch zugesagt, da wir abseits der ganzen Touristen im Ruhigen Speisen konnten. Auch das Innere des Restaurants ist gemütlich und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Gerne wieder. Die Preise sind der Qualität angemessen.
