Traditional restaurant near the Beethoven House. We were there for lunch on the packed terrace and received prompt and friendly service. There was nothing wrong with our breaded redfish fillet with potato, cucumber, and radish salad. We were happy and will be back.

Die Ofenkartoffel mit Sauercreme war lieblos serviert. In einem tiefen Teller lag eine nicht aufgeschnittene grössere und eine kleinere Kartoffel, vermischt mit Salat und die Sauercreme auf alles drübergegeben. Die Champignons, auf der Speisekarte extra aufgeführt, konnte man suchen. Das Essen ist stark verbesserungswürdig. Übrigens, der Salat war zu sauer.

Today, 17 of us went to Mutter Wittig's for a light meal after the registry office. We had a small room for ourselves but it was open to other guests; the noise level was still very pleasant despite the number of guests. Due to the size of the group, we had a selection menu, and communication on this went smoothly. Everyone enjoyed the food and it was the perfect size. The service was very attentive; however, the waiting times were a little long, even with understanding for the group size. We also found it a bit annoying that the sauces for the schnitzels were served separately, but I'm sure there are people who prefer it that way. All in all, highly recommended, delicious, and worth a visit - thank you very much.

On the positive side, the cheap table mustard has now become Löwensenf! The service is inattentive and very slow. As for the food, it was a birthday, so I can review several meals, as my son is a chef himself! As for the knuckle ragout, it was tasteless, the sauce was watery; any Maggi packet sauce would improve it; a no-go! The meatloaf with fried egg, a portion much too small for the price, the fried potatoes unfortunately much too dark and bitter, and occasionally served cold. The food unfortunately doesn't have any major highlights; sometimes it's great, sometimes it's a flop. We gave the place a second chance today. Unfortunately, on the negative side, a snack bar is more satisfying in terms of taste and certainly value for money. It's a shame, it's actually a nice restaurant with a lot of potential. But I can't recommend this place. P.S. At least the rump steak was cooked to perfection; one meal was completely lost in the mix.

We had dinner here on a Friday evening and it was excellent. The food was really very good and above all delicious. There was something for everyone on the menu. The hot stone was an experience. I would like to emphasize the good service. _ even when it became more and more crowded, you never lost your good mood and were on your toes. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

Here you can really eat deliciously and reasonably priced. Very friendly and courteous staff!

We had a nice meal there, but on the terrace. not been inside. food was sufficient. Please note that you can only pay with cash. yet at the time when we are going to eat there. I noticed that it can be busy at times. is close to the Xanten Cathedral. so also a lot of people walking past. Dogs are also allowed on the terrace.

Nice location and nice terrace. Unfortunately, the service we received was not good. We got our meal, but after 10 minutes we had to ask where the bowl of salad was. It only came after the main meal had already been eaten. In addition, the toilets were very dirty. The fries with schnitzel were fine (also a large portion!) but the scampi pasta was very mediocre and not worth the money.

Top cuisine, great service, known in the family for many years. It's very worth it, it's important to reserve a table, the Gielen couple, Edith l.v.d.Berg, we... stay healthy everyone in the new year 2025.

Walked in spontaneously, everything was reserved (fully booked), but still got a free spot. Food was served in 15 minutes and was delicious. Great!

We were guests with a larger group. The beer garden is beautiful and invites you to linger. Unfortunately, the dishes were on a completely different level. The pork medallions with mushroom sauce were almost unseasoned, and the sauce was more like a roux and very mushy. The spaetzle also stuck together and tasted good when reheated. The turkey schnitzels were too salty, and only one of the three steaks was cooked to medium. I also found the prices of the asparagus dishes too high; a portion of asparagus with a 150-180g sirloin steak and potatoes costs €38.00. The service was also semi-professional in terms of competence and friendliness. I got my Pilsner on the third attempt, after being brought Alster and Radler, but only because I swapped with my colleague. Conclusion: The beer garden's cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for a drink. If you're looking for something to eat, we recommend other locations.

A somewhat chaotic team that unfortunately loses track when it gets busy. On our previous visits, we only had a drink and noticed that we always smelled of deep fryer afterward. So we thought we'd try the kitchen. However, I made the mistake of speaking English with my husband, which disqualified us from a free table. But we still smelled of deep fryer after just a few minutes.

Very good food and super friendly service. I'll definitely be back. You can also sit outside in the beer garden in the summer. I'd be happy to go again.
