Yesterday we were with a workshop group at the Brauhaus Keule and unfortunately we have to say that we will not be coming back. The reason for this is not the food. The food itself was impeccable. The rating relates to the order, as wishes were not taken into account, and to the inflexibility of the service, as separate card payments or rebooking to multiple tables was not possible in the end. One participant had to pay the total amount by card. In addition, when ordering Kölsch, Kölsch was unfortunately served outside in 0.4l glasses.

All perfect! The meat was so tender and crunchy ❤️. We shared a main and we were not able to finish it 🤣

My wife was absolutely thrilled with her schnitzel. I had Rhenish Sauerbraten, which was absolutely perfect. Gladly again at any time, thank you for this lovely evening.

Kölsch ordered 0.5 beer. Card payment is only possible from 20 euros then suddenly only inside, unbelievably simply bad 10 euros for 2 Kölsch

The pork knuckle is to die for! the crackling, the meat just falls of the bone. Service was first class. We ended up stuck in Cologne for an extra night due to flight cancellations and we came back to Keule to eat as our first time a few days earlier was so good and they did not disappoint. The espresso martini with vanilla ice cream is also delish!

Wir waren heute Morgen mit meiner Familie dort. Sehr freundliche und fürsorgliche Menschen haben uns empfangen. Wir hatten warme Mahlzeiten und einen sehr schönen Apfelkuchen. Ihr Eis ist sehr lecker.

Very friendly and caring people welcomed us. We had warm meals and a very nice apple pie. Their ice cream is very tasty.

We came to this restaurant by chance and found space immediately. The food and gaff tasted good and were okay in terms of price. The waitress was very friendly, engaging and had a good sense of humor. A visit is recommended.

Ate here today with my girlfriend and I still absolutely love the waitresses. A couple of around 50 to 60 who provide delicious authentic German food and drinks with fun and enjoyment.

No 1 Pork Knuckle in Koeln . A must try ! We had an excellent dinner of roasted pork knuckle. The crackling was perfectly done and the meat was very very tasty 👍

I ask for tap water and they charged me 5.60 dollars (when in the menu it was said 2.80). The service was incredibly rude.

Great shop right on the Heumarkt. The pork knuckle was super juicy and delicious. The drinks could have been a little cooler and the waiter forgot about us for a while but otherwise great.

We were there with a wedding party in the upper rooms. In my opinion it's a little too narrow for a certain number of people and it's not pleasant that you can't open a window there. The food was in buffet form. Rather average. Alldings the service was very good. Friendly waiters who ran up and down even just for a drink. And were always attentive.

It's very loud outside in the old town! There was no vegan dish, and nothing else vegetarian either! It was tasty, but I would have preferred to eat vegetarian.

The owner is very kind and has a lot of meat, and he prepares each piece right away! It took a long time, but it was the most delicious thing I had in Germany! (Especially than the beer bars near the dome!)

Simple menu with delicious dishes, unfortunately no children's meals, friendly and quick service

Very warm welcome, the person who welcomed us made the effort to speak a little French. The waiter was very cheerful, the food was good, we had a pleasant time, thank you to them.

The pork knuckle is amazing. The portion in huge and it matches perfectly with the cabbage.

It was just lovely...the food was well prepared and the host was an original.

The waitress was very cute and sweet, and the uncle loved to wink. I ordered a beef roll with onions and sauerkraut inside, served with beets and two balls of mashed potatoes. It went well with Cologne beer. It was very comfortable to sit outside and look at the square!

The food was tasty but I had to wait for 45 mins. I also saw a women canceled her order and left because she couldn't wait any longer. So don't go there with an empty stomach :)) Also my food was 15.9€ in the menu, but I had to pay 18€ something. I was tired and didn't pay attention to it, and they didn't give me the bill, so I still don't know what they charged me for or it was a mistake.

This restaurant is a must when visiting Köln. The food is delicious with large portion sizes, the atmosphere is always buzzing and the servers are friendly and helpful. English menus are available.

Unfriendly staff, food was served that wasn't ordered, then I had to pay an overpriced price for it that wasn't justified. The dish and price were also not included in the menu. Employees also had no interest in dispute resolution. Thank you never again. I definitely advise against the place. It's better to look for other bars in the surrounding streets.

The best German pork knuckles I have ever tasted, so fragrant and delicious, the skin is fried to a crispy texture and the texture is quite good. Two people can't finish a pig's trotter, so it goes perfectly with German sauerkraut and beer!

Must have had a bad day today. 2 dishes (including a vegetarian dish) not available because, according to the waitress, they were not ready yet (4 p.m. in the afternoon). A salad we ordered was missing. Sorry, but there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Never eaten such a big knuckle before! If you like pork, this is the place for you! Haxtastic price performance!

Food was very tasty. Service was nice and very prompt. What really annoyed me and my company was the lack of the option to pay a joint bill separately by card. One can only speculate as to why this is the case (otherwise the tip would be too small), at least it is not pointed out in advance. Stupid situation for someone who pays almost exclusively electronically. Things simply have to be different these days!

The “Keule” brewery in Cologne, on the Heumarkt, is a top location. Quaint, cozy, delicious, perfect. My conclusion: highly recommended 🍻

Waren auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt in Köln. Sind hier eingekehrt um etwas zu essen. Ein schönes Ambiente und sehr lecker Speisen. Die Portionen waren gross genug um satt zu werden. Kommen gerne wieder.

Es ist ein typisches Kölner Restaurant mit langer Geschichte in historischer Lage. Wir haben mit einer Gruppe von 8 Personen einen schönen Abend verbracht und dabei das qualitativ gute und regionale Essen genossen. Die teilweise völlig inakzeptablen Kommentare auf diesem Bewertungsportal konnte ich auch bei wiederholtem Besuch nicht nachvollziehen. Der „ ältere Kellner“ hatte mit uns viel Spaß und war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Kartenzahlung war möglich und die Reservieren über „ Open Table“ funktionierte problemlos. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt auch in diesen schwierigen Zeiten noch . Man sollte allerdings großen Hunger mitbringen da die Portionen sehr groß sind. Komme gerne wieder in dieses authentische Restaurant.

My favorite restaurant on our two week trip through Germany. I had the schnitzel, my husband had the pork knuckle, it was huge! He could not finish it, but he wished he had more room cause he loved it. I loved the schnitzel. The beer was also excellent. We waited about 15 minutes and we were seated, then waited about 30 minutes for food. They don’t have english menus so be ready to use google translate or refer to my photos.

After enjoying gluhwein in Huemarkt Christmas Market my twin brother and I headed over to Keule ,been here many times over the years, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. A nice big pub ,multi roomed, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings including plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and beautiful Huemarkt Christmas Market, its just a great pub to unwind in. We sat outside were we ordered 0.4L of kölsch beer ,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub and the great Christmas market taking place. My beer was outstanding, a golden, light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink, when this beer is served freezing cold as in this pub its such a refreshing beer indeed, hardly surprising that this pub is so popular with beers served in this good a condition. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to Keule we had a great time Keule is easy to locate on Huemarkt, in my opinion the prettiest square in Cologne, a square and area teeming with pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants and some amazing architecture. Opening hours are ; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. Well worth checking out if you're in the Old Town of Cologne.

Keule on Heumarkt is an excellent pub and restaurant that offer's a fantastic range of food and drinks and was a really good pub and restaurant to start our day off. Keule has a magnificent interior with many interesting fixtures and features and great decor and furnishings and brilliant seating options both inside and outside. We visited here very early in the afternoon on a very pleasant day and as it was warm we sat outside were we had a few beers. When we visited here we had a few glasses of Gaffel Kölsch which where excellent and served in perfect condition and where well priced. This is a brilliant pub and restaurant that's in an excellent area of Cologne and worth visiting and is easy to locate from Rathaus tram/u-bahn stops it's a short walk. Gutes Essen, keine überhöhten Preise, fröhliches, gut gelaunten Personal. Man fühlt sich willkommen.

Ich habe einen Tisch reserviert und eine Reservierungsbestätigung erhalten. Als ich ankam, scheuchte mich die Kellnerin tatsächlich weg, ohne sich zu entschuldigen oder die Situation erklären zu wollen. Update 12/12/2023 Ich verstehe, dass die Reservierung App schuldig ist, aber ihre Kellnerin konnte netter sein. Sie konnte mich einladen fürs Restaurant andere mal besuchen oder “tut mir leid” sagen. Es war nur: “wir sind geschlossen, es gibt ohne Möglichkeit, dass du resserviert hast”.

Wir hatten einen Tisch für 12 Personen zu 20 Uhr bestellt. Erst einmal mussten wir warten bis unser Tisch frei war, das war aber für uns kein Problem. Das Restaurant war gut besucht und wir hatten unseren Tisch oben. Das Kölsch kam relativ zügig, aber als wir nach 22 Uhr immer noch kein Essen hatten, haben wir nachgefragt wann unser Essen denn kommt. Der Tisch neben uns mit 6 Männern (waren wir mittlerweile mit im Gespräch) ebenso. Daraufhin wurde uns gesagt, es würde noch mindestens 45 Minuten dauern. Aber man könnte uns nichts genaues sagen. Daraufhin haben wir die Rechnung bestellt und waren froh, dass man uns beim Nachbarn noch eine anständige Pizza serviert hat.

We went there at 3pm. They were still (or yet) serving food. Which was a good thing given the odd hour. The place was at around mid capacity (several people sitting, but yet quite a few empty tables). We (2 people) got sitted without giving us a menu. We had to wait about 30 min until the waitress came back to take our order. We told her that we didn't have a menu and she went back to fetch them. It took another 25 minuts for her to come back to take our order. The food took another 20 minutes to arrive. The plates had big portions and were tasty, althought to our opinion, they were nothing special. Prices were fair for the amount and location. Overall it seems that the place had only one waitress and could do with 1 o 2 more.

Made a booking online, had confirmation, but they wouldn't seat me, even after showing them the email as proof.. they were very rude and told me to go somewhere else.. not apologetic either!!

The food was great, especially its Hexe, but you have to wait for almost one hour, and it's common here. Although during the peak hours, the staff was still friendly and paitent. As long as you have enough time, I recommend you to enjoy great Hexe and atmosphere here.

Alors le lieu est beau, tranquille et propre. Par contre faut pas être pressé, on a attendu 50 minutes pour être servi. Alors faut préciser que le serveur était vraiment gentil et serviable mais quelque chose n'allait pas dans le service pour des temps d'attente aussi longs. Les plats étaient bons, le cordon bleu était fait maison mais les frites qui l'accompagnait étaient surgelées (avis de Belges ici on sait de quoi on parle), la cuisse d'oie était bonne mais sans être exceptionnelle et les accompagnements sortaient pour la moitié de conserves. Le prix était relativement élevé par rapport à la qualité et au service.
