Meer traditionele keuken. Ongezellig interieur, paar terrastafels aan straatzijde. Véél eten (hoofdgerecht). Totaal niet verfijnd. Dagschotel aan 9,5 euro. Zeer vriendelijke en snelle bediening.

Bonn ist eine Reise wert. Es gibt einiges interessantes anzuschauen z.b. das Beethovenhaus, der Marktplatz, die gut erhaltene Architektur. Auch die Lage direkt am Rhein bietet viele Möglichkeiten. Wir haben eine Tour mit dem Hop on Hop of Bus gemacht, die hat uns einen guten Überblick verschafft.

Typical place with characteristic interiors! The environment is welcoming and ancient, the dishes are plentiful and very good, right for the price. The sauces on my meat were delicious and I always ate with pleasure. The fries are also particularly good. A must try place if you want to eat traditional food! No mice though :/

The truth is that the food, for us, was absolutely not tasty. Also, I found it a bit pricey for its portions. Otherwise, very polite and good service, nice atmosphere.

The ambience is okay, but the price-performance ratio is absolutely not okay. In the photo you can see the Cordon Bleu - it feels like a children's portion. Charging 18.90 for this is a bad joke. Note the size relationship to the lemon slice. Previously I was there on steak day and had a rump steak: so tough that I didn't want to finish it. As a Bonner I will avoid it and never go there to eat again. A pity!

Very great, rustic restaurant. Can sometimes be a little crowded with tourists, but that's also due to the location. The service is quick and friendly, the drinks and food are very tasty, although not exactly cheap.

Wir lieben Traditionsgaststätten und hatten am 11.11.2023 hier gut gegessen und getrunken. Deshalb besuchten wir wieder den "Stiefel" und ließen uns draußen nieder. Sowohl der Service wie das Essen war eine Enttäuschung. Meine Frau und ich hatten den "Sauerbraten". Er war trocken und schmeckte weder meiner Frau noch mir. Das Essen wurde ohne Besteck serviert. Auch befand sich auf unserem Tisch kein Krug mit Besteck und Servietten. Als wir höflich darauf hinwiesen, erwiderte der Kellner schroff, wir hätten Besteck! Erst als wir nochmals das fehlende Besteck monierten, sah er auf den Tisch und brachte uns dann das Besteck aus der Gaststube.

Super delicious food. Pleasant atmosphere.

Judging by some of the reviews, I probably had a bad day yesterday. Ordered boot schnitzel... What was positive was that the schnitzel was on the table after 20 minutes. That's it. Definitely a frozen piece of meat that was heated in the deep fryer. The fried egg was lukewarm and covered a pile of over-fried onions that were also cold. Unfortunately, this gave the impression that the onions were still in the pan from another preparation and had to go. For almost €24 I expect something different. My wife had the Jägerschnitzel, which she said was good. Unfortunately, the excellent service from the waiters doesn't save my rating. Despite the fairly clean toilets, the place can be described as "rocky". ...one look at the walls and ceiling is enough! Was there really Bitburger in the tap? No idea. At least the bit tastes different at home and in my local pub.

Unfortunately we cannot agree with the previous reviews regarding the food. Our group of 8 people were very disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant.

Attention: Updated rating below. Really nice inn, hearty food, decent beer and a nice, cozy atmosphere that invites you to linger. In addition to classic Bohemian dishes, you can also find good Bonn/Rhineland classics such as potato pancakes (Rievkooche) or "Himmel un Ääd" (Heaven and Earth). According to the menu, the potato pancakes are rather atypical for the Rhineland with salmon, but can also be served classically with apple sauce if desired (I'm surprised that this is missing from the menu). Of course, the price is not cheap due to the location. Attention revision: Slight reduction after another visit: We now had 2x Jägerschnitzel and the sauerbraten in the men's group. The taste was good, but the portions were so small that we couldn't get enough. Honestly: Fries don't cost anything, something like that shouldn't happen! And if someone orders extra fries, they cost zero € and there is an excuse! Instead, shortly before 9, the request came to order the last round and then drink it quickly!!! You couldn't imagine something like that. I embarrassed myself to the bone in front of my guests with the number. Definitely the last time in boots with men.

A really nice, quaint restaurant. We went there for lunch with friends and felt very comfortable. We'd love to come back.

I always visit “the boot pub” when in Bonn. Uncomplicated but delicious traditional food and great German beer with friendly service. However I saw a mouse in the dining room so they should get a cat!

Down-to-earth restaurant with the same cuisine. Definitely a place of joy for fans of hearty food. All of our dishes taste delicious and everyone was full 😉 Reservations recommended.

Interesting historical place, next (close) to the Beethoven's house in Bonn. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere.

Had lunch today at the inn in Boots. The dishes on the menu sounded very tempting. We chose the Jägerschnitzel, Wiener Schnitzel and Cordon Bleu. And these dishes also cost a good amount of money, around 20-26 euros. In return you got a portion of schnitzel smaller than your hand, which was cold or undercooked. I've never had such a disappointing meal for so much money. Wouldn't recommend it.

I had the schnitzel with mushroom sauce and it was top notch.

We were relatively early, so we got our food very quickly, we all liked the food, the waiters were attentive and asked if everything was OK and regularly came to ask if we wanted anything else, we had a nice evening !

Good morning, We picked out the restaurant online and went there because of the good reviews. What can I say >> we were not disappointed. my wife had the Rhenish sauerbraten and I had the much-praised boot schnitzel. Both perfect and very tasty. We can only recommend it. The price/performance ratio is definitely given. We were completely satisfied and would like to come back.

I'll say...an almost typical brewery. We were there with a large group. Unfortunately, we were given the "instructions" at the beginning that we were not allowed to move around during the evening, otherwise the billing would not work. Bad announcement, in my opinion, because I can hardly ask that of my guests. Then you should probably use the good method of writing cover letters on beer mats for the evening. This has already proven itself elsewhere. The drinks came quickly and were good so far. The food had already been pre-ordered using a separate menu and then arrived in batches. First the salads, then the "dead" grandma, etc. On the whole, the dishes were tasty and appropriate for a brewery. So far there was nothing to complain about...but at the end when paying, despite what was announced at the beginning, there was chaos.

Simply wonderful. I wanted to go to a traditional German place and this was it and absolutely loved it. Great food, great service, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Many visitors but also very many locals.

Food was good. But after leaving the restaurant I realized the person who served me charged me extra (total bill came to roughly 2€ over the listed menu price) and did not ask or offer me a reciept. I was also seated perpendicular to another customer - the customer was at the next table facing me and was staring at me while sipping her drink which was very uncomfortable. The restaurant had a lot of empty tables at the time I visited so I felt like they could have seated me in a more comfortable situation. I tipped extra which I now regret. If you are a tourist with limited German language skills please be vigilant if you decide to dine here.

The staff tried very hard! Metthappen very tasty! But you wait too long for the drinks. More staff also brings more sales, but here the boss saves money. Just like in the other store he has. Working yourself is not an option!

Excelentes sitio para ter uma refeição e que fica muito bem colocado. Boa comida e carta de refeições alemães . Comi a salada de frango e estava boa. Talvez com menos tempero na salada, mas estava bom.

The relatively expensive dish “Wienerschnitzel” on the menu was not convincing. Anyone who knows the real Wienerschnitzel can confirm this. Soft breading and not very fresh meat, which should be veal. Definitely not a freshly prepared restaurant dish, but a warmed schnitzel from the freezer - a disgrace for the price. The fried potatoes were also a disaster - rancid and burnt, probably several days old. And the waiter was humorless and rude. The only good thing was the freshly tapped Bitburger. Because of its location - in the immediate vicinity of the Beethoven House - and the German cuisine, the tavern may have been well received by many unsuspecting tourists. For those in the know, the food at this unearthly eatery is rather subterranean.

Quaint inn. Local menu. It can happen that at 10 p.m. you are surprised that the chairs are put up and you are asked to pay. No matter whether Friday or Saturday. Reduction of overtime etc.

It is a decent place to eat in central Bonn and practically the only place there to offer the real food (its competition seems to be offering limited range of industrially produced (mechanically recovered meat) burgers, fries, bread in every shape and form and Haribos). The selection of beers is not as wide, but then it is a restaurant. The menu offers German classics, from Wienner schnitzel to Jaeger schnitzel and anything like cabbage, cheese and more meat in between. There are special days with discounted prices on steaks for those who can always enjoy more meat. They still offer meals with calf's liver and fried blood, both done and presented nicely. The only weak point is the coffee as it is watery and thin, like it used to be served on the planes in 1990ies.

The food was good and the service was particularly attentive. You didn't have to wait long. Restaurant was clean and the ambience was special due to the ancient building. Home cooking. Most of the dishes are meat dishes.

If the meal existed in 1792, Beethoven probably wouldn't have gone to Vienna! Very friendly! Delicious! Great!

A really very nice restaurant. Nice service. We had the feeling of sitting in a piece of history with the decoration, the paintings on the walls and the wood/brass furnishings. From a culinary point of view, you can even get great dishes here like a Viennese schnitzel (veal!!). Price-performance ratio is great! The perfect place for a short escape from the hectic city center of Bonn.

The portions were too big. The “Wiener” schnitzels stood out over the plate. Just too much to eat.

Typical German restaurant here. Old and authentic decorations from sculpted wood. Service is friendly and effective. Good and generous food. Recommend their potato soup with sausage served into a bread and their beef liver Berlin style. Interesting beer cart and nice selection of wine.

Hello everyone, The Gasthaus im Boots is a restaurant with very good food. I do have a few points of criticism, however, the whole thing is always subjective and to say it straight away: We were all very enthusiastic about our stay and would clearly recommend eating here. We found out about the restaurant via the Internet, and with a quick call we were told that we didn't need to make a reservation, but could just come along. We could rely on that. The service staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful. Now for the subjective little criticism. For the Viennese style schnitzel we ordered, I personally found the portion to be quite small. There were two very small schnitzels and a small decorative fryer basket full of fries. Here I would have liked either one large schnitzel or two medium-sized ones. We definitely recommend the Beethoven Laiberl, which really tasted excellent. Unfortunately, the crème brûlée had a very strange, solid consistency and was unfortunately rather bland in taste. All in all a very nice and old restaurant with excellent food Eat. Clear recommendation for everyone reading this. <3

Traditional brewery, conveniently located on the edge of the pedestrian zone. Very tasty food and drink. Rhenish specialties with a very good price/performance ratio

The service was very accommodating and got me a seat even though there was a lot of traffic in the house. Had the knuckle with sauerkraut. Thoroughly recommended.

Starter good Service good After the starter we waited over an hour for our main course. The steak was fried to death instead of medium and the fried potatoes were deep fried potato slices. The other food was ok. Mayo and ketchup were completely forgotten. After we communicated our dissatisfaction, the service was no longer nice. Price-performance wasn't right this evening. Unfortunately we won't be coming back again.

I visited “Im Boots” with some colleagues from non-European countries. It was a successful evening with regional dishes.

Clocky --- almost like an old Berlin pub. It was a great evening.

Rustic restaurant with local dishes. Service and food were very good and large. Unfortunately, a major cleaning would be necessary. Lamps, decorations and especially the toilets were in urgent need of cleaning.

Cozy brewery atmosphere, really delicious food and the service was attentive, quick and very friendly! We would like to come again!!

A big plus point is that the restaurant is always open in the afternoon. Food is quite inexpensive, but you shouldn't expect too much from it.

3 people went there and ordered a few German dishes, beer, coffee and juice. My friend came to Germany and was not used to eating authentic German food, but I thought it was delicious. The overall dining atmosphere was very good, the waitress was great, and it was suitable for friends. A good place to have dinner and chat

Jägerschnitzelchen ohne Salat 19,80€ das war das letzte Mal

Himmel un Ääd stellte sich als Kombination gebratener Blutwurst in seltsam fester Konsistenz und gebratener Leberwurst (!) heraus, dazu der obligatorische Kartoffelpüree sowie Apfelmus. Keine Ahnung, ob Leberwurst in Bonn dazu gehört, geschmeckt hat es jedenfalls nicht sonderlich. Das traf auch auf das "Stiefelschnitzel" meiner Begleitung zu. Die Bedienungen waren freundlich und flink.

Schönes Lokal, das Essen war von der Portion her OK allerdings waren die Schweinemedaillons von der Qualität her nicht so toll. Muss aber dazu sagen das ich normalerweise meine eigenen esse.

Das Steak Angebot war nicht verfügbar. Sehe ich als reines Lockangebot. Das Essen war eher durchschnittlich. Ich würde nicht nochmal dort essen.

Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und sehr auf zack. Getränkebestellungen wurden zügig aufgenommen. Das Personal hatte immer einen lustigen Spruch auf den Lippen und war für jeden Scherz zu haben. Die Hauptspeisen waren sehr gut 👍 nur bei meinen Apfelstrudel war ich etwas von der Größe enttäuscht 😞. Er sehr lecker 😋, aber bei der Größe des Strudel fand ich den Preis doch heftig. Jederzeit wieder aber dann ohne Dessert, das war mir das Geld 💰 dann doch nicht wert.

Essen war sehr lecker (hatten den Burger, Sauerbraten und einen „großen“ Salat), leider war der große Salat eine herbe Enttäuschung. Für ~19€ kann man schon einen großen Salat erwarten. Ambiente ist okay.

Ich war zweimal zum Mittagessen in diesem Restaurant. Von Montag bis Freitag gibt es eine Mittagskarte mit jeweils einem Gericht für 8,50 Euro. Teuer ist das mit Sicherheit nicht. Geschmeckt hat es auch. Allerdings fehlte mir der 'Wow-Effekt', denn irgendwie erinnerte mich das Essen bei beiden Besuchen ein wenig an Kantine bzw. an 'Essen auf Rädern für Senioren'. So war der Schweinebraten absolut mager, aber für meinen Geschmack zu trocken. Der typische Wirtshausgeschmack fehlte mir. Für Leute, die auf eine fettarme Ernährung achten, ist das Essen sicherlich perfekt. Für mich passte nur das Essen nicht ganz zum durchaus ansprechenden Ambiente des Wirtshauses (Brauhauses). Ergänzung im Dezember 2023: Bei Getränkepreisen von zum Beispiel 3,70 Euro für ein kleines Ginger Ale bzw Bitter Lemon (0,2l) oder einen kleinen Saft (0,2 l) für 3,80 Euro verzichte ich auf ein Getränk zum Essen.

Erg gezellige cafe/restaurant. We hadden de snitzel en cordonbleu. Deze waren erg lekker. Service was ook erg goed. Personeel liep er lekker vrolijk bij. Echt een aanrader.

Wer die deutsche Gasthaus-Kultur so liebt wie wir, wird hier nicht enttäuscht! Kein überkandidelter In-Laden, der versucht durch innovative Konzepte zu überzeugen, sondern eine Gaststätte die eine Tradition wiederspiegelt und in der man auch einfach nur an der Theke sitzen und ein sehr gut gezapftes Köln trinken kann. Nur die Köbisse fallen aus dem kölschen Raster, - sie sind einfach zu nett😜

Ich war am 07.12.23 mit mehreren Kolleg:innen da, der Service war supernett, das Essen aber gar nicht gut, ich hatte ein Stiefel-Schnitzel, das triefte vor und schmeckte nach altem Fett, auch die Fritten waren vollgesogen mit Fett, schon auf der Heimfahrt merkte ich, dass mir das Essen gar nicht bekommen ist, habe dann auch die ganze Nacht nicht geschlafen …

Gut bürgerliche und typisch rheinische Küche. Daher verständlicherweise wenige vegetarische Gerichte (leider!). Sehr freundlicher und zuvorkommender Service. Wir hatten für 12 Personen im Rahmen einer betrieblichen Weihnachtsfeier einen Tisch reserviert. Das Essen kam zügig und für Alle gleichzeitig. Der Nachschub an Getränken klappte einwandfrei. Sehr zu empfehlen!
