4 service staff very inattentive. Suddenly five people had 12 glasses on the table. New beer was brought but not cleared away, as were the plates. On Metthappen, Kölsche caviar Waited 45 minutes and it wasn't full.

Nice traditional place. The quality of the food was fine, but I have had better food in Germany. Helpful staff.

Very cozy brewery in the heart of the old town. I visited there to show my Mexican friend Rhenish food. He liked it very much, and so did I. :-) Price-performance ratio is right. Clear recommendation, especially if you are looking for good German cuisine. Clear recommendation.

Wonderful restaurant i. Heart of Bonn

Eat and drink deliciously in nice surroundings. The umbrellas make it too warm outside in the summer evenings (heat builds up under the umbrellas). Staff seems disorganized, asks for requests too rarely and forgets orders.

Authentic German dishes, from starters to mains to desserts. Definitely an awesome find! The food came fast and was cooked to perfection.

A great experience! The food was perfect (although the portions are manageable - you should take starters and desserts into account here). The taste is insane. The building: The oldest restaurant in Bonn - with origins in 1300 something and lots of history - very impressive and great dishes!

Had a veal schnitzel with potato salad. The potato salad probably came from a bucket and tasted very sour. The salmon carpaccio was almost inedible. Simply pour vinegar over smoked salmon slices! When I asked whether a new chef or owner was running the house, I received no answer. A few months ago the quality was significantly better! Too bad and annoying!!!!

Good traditional German food. Great atmosphere, as it’s placed close to a beautiful building and is in a town square. The staff were a little impatient (possibly do to us not understanding what the dishes were, as we don’t speak German).

Service great! The elevator is a disaster, the toilet is ancient, super small, lighting on the lower floor is underground... The food was mediocre and looked like mostly ready-made mixed salads from the supermarket. Not recommended at all.

A real Bonn veteran and just as cozy. We had a gathering table with guests from all over Germany and the nicest evening ever. The service, which was all about having fun, rounded off the successful evening perfectly. We'll definitely be back 👍

Ein sehr leckeres Spargelgericht, einmal mit Räucherlachs, einmal mit Schweinefilet. Dazu Sauce Hollandaise und zerlassene Butter.

Such a beautiful shop and such incredibly good food 2-3 years ago. Unfortunately, not much of it remains at the moment. We celebrated our wedding there years ago. Which was absolutely recommended back then. We have since moved away but would like to eat there again at least on our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately the quality has decreased significantly. The typical Brauhaus staff (the elderly gentlemen, who at first glance seem unfriendly) are also only a few left. Food has slipped from absolutely recommendable to “it’s ok”. Unfortunately, we experienced this twice in 2024, so I don't think it's a "special case". What a shame!

A restaurant from earlier times, but clean and a nice rustic atmosphere. The service staff was very attentive and very friendly. The food is delicious 😋 and there are also Rhenish specialties. There is one negative point for me: the elevator to the toilets is there, but it cannot be used with a wheelchair.

Historical restaurant in Bonn's old town. Beautiful sunny terrace and super delicious food, especially the asparagus with butter and asparagus with liver were a culinary delight. Good expensive but also good food Sat outside, had the farmer's schnitzel with egg, bacon and onion. Was delicious. However, also very expensive. There was no side dish, so you had to order one. Had the rosemary potatoes. They were also very tasty, but definitely on the more expensive side for €5.20. The service was very nice, on the ball, and always brought Kölsch Overall very good, also good atmosphere, but in my opinion the prices are 1-2€ too expensive

Our family waited for an hour for ordering the lunch, but the lovely XXXXL size waitress kept ignoring us. After ordering, we waited for another hour, but the food didn't come. After waiting for two hours, the food was still not served at 2:30 pm, and my child was crying with hunger. I strongly do not recommend this restaurant.

Food for the bin! Schnitzel was big but also flat! No taste, just breadcrumbs, a side salad straight away and dry fries kept warm for a long time, nothing!

Cozy brewpub but there are some points that could be improved. By default, in a brewery there are little to no vegetarian/vegan dishes. That's why I was really looking forward to the vegan bratwurst that we saw on the menu and why we chose this brewery for dinner. When we ordered we found out that it had never been available before, even though it was on the menu. I think it's pretty cheeky to lure people with it but not offer the product at all. The service was very friendly and really personable, but couldn't cope with the obviously new digital ordering system. That's why (?) we were forgotten several times and had to wait a long time even though it wasn't full. The waitress smiled at the mistakes with her relaxed manner. The superiors should rethink their concept here and, above all, train their employees better.

First the (only) positive: - The service was "always trying hard" and very nice. If it hadn't been for her, we would probably have left the store again. The negative: - We waited over an hour for our food. - During the waiting time, our glasses were practically always empty, a sensible drinking rhythm was de facto impossible, and ordering drinks was difficult/impossible. - In a BRAUHAUS in the Rhineland, as a Kölsch drinker, I actually expect that new Kölsch will be brought to me without ordering until I put the lid on it; That's actually what Ouzo is here. - The food: It was an absolute disaster. I had the schnitzel “Em Höttche”. The "fried potatoes" were a burnt and rather baked pile without any refinement: no onions, no bacon, no parsley, no nothing. The apple compote was missing and was only added (minutes) later (while, of course, we were already left high and dry in terms of drinks anyway). The Kölsch sauce was only found in trace amounts, overall everything was very salty (which is great if you don't have anything to drink...) - The baked vegetables consisted of 99% of a hollandaise-like sauce and were virtually inedible. - It was VERY loud, which is part of a brewery, but I would like to be able to understand the person I'm talking to. I can only advise against going here (at peak times), last year before the change of tenant the food was still excellent; It's a shame that the standard wasn't maintained.

We just had a drink. The service was very nice.

It took a very long time for a waitress to even come to our table. We had previously gotten the menu ourselves. After ordering, we had to wait about an hour for the food. We had 2 soups as starters. Unfortunately the main course was brought before the soup. We then ordered the soup. The quality of the food was very good. Unfortunately, we couldn't really enjoy it due to the long waiting time. A pity!

Sehr leckere deutsche Gerichte, traditionell, urig eingerichtet, Bedienung freundlich, Toiletten sauber. Leider nur wenige vegetarische Gerichte, die zT nicht verfügbar waren. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen, wer gerne deutsche rheinländisch essen gehen möchte.

Absolutely great and typical brewery in the heart of Bonn. Comfort and Rhineland hospitality are guaranteed. During our visit, the staff was totally charming, committed and funny, which further enhanced the stay. Overall, a direct hit.

Brauhaus well located in Bonn. Food in many variations. Normal prices, Kölsch, cozy with outside dining.

The waitress took the order from the person sitting next to me but overlooked me. I then waited almost an hour for my food. The schnitzel was hardly seasoned, the onions were mushy and the fries had hardly any color and were still "al dente".

Wer ein typisch rheinisches Traditionsgasthaus mit Kölsch-Brauereiausschank(Gaffel) mit entsprechender Wirtshausküche sucht, ist "Em Höttche" genau richtig. Historisch-klassisches Interieur und aufmerksamer Service. Typisch rheinische Gerichte (Himmel und Ääd, Sauerbraten etc.); sauber gekocht. Preislich allerdings an der oberen Grenze für ein Wirtshaus, wohl der sehr guten Lage am Bonner Rathaus geschuldet Viele neugierige internationale Touristen, daher ein buntgemischtes angenehmes Publikum.

So the food is good, home-style and very tasty. Today I was invited by an older gentleman. We both had a very good but also quite expensive meal there for €50.10. The lunch menu is also cheaper, as it also offers dishes that cost less than €10. Unfortunately I have to use the stairs to use the toilets, unfortunately it is not suitable for disabled people. You can also sit outside, Em Höttche is highly recommended.

I've been in Bonn for 25 years and have always enjoyed being a guest there, but my last visit was so disappointing. I'm not coming back anymore. Haxe has always been great. Now small portion and price increase. Quality wasn't good at all! 😞

Rustic Bonn pub with brewery flair. The service wasn't that attentive and was ignored for more than 30 minutes, despite the obviously empty glasses. Unfortunately, the food wasn't particularly good either. The schnitzel came with very little breading and tasted very greasy, almost no taste of its own. So there is potential for improvement.

Service could have sold more. It wasn't really full but after no one came anymore we paid. My meal was good, my brother-in-law's schnitzel wasn't an enrichment.

The menu was only in German, but the staff helped us very well. The waitress told us what she liked best (or was typically German) and we took that too. It was delicious! Then we also had ice cream and chocolate cake. This was also very tasty. Definitely a place to visit!

Top service - only available in Bonn!

After being bitterly disappointed almost a year ago, I returned to your brewery today on Rose Monday. What can I say? Friendly staff, good food (which was surprisingly quick at the table despite the rush) The negative review was immediately removed and I now come back to eat more often!

Service und Bier hervorragend. Küche war bis vor 1 Jahr deutlich besser. Schnitzel trocken wie eine Schuhsohle, wurde nach Reklamation nicht berechnet. Schnapsauswahl sehr eingeschränkt, Obstler viel zu süß. Insgesamt qualitativ noch viel Luft nach oben.

Prices are adapted to German fine dining. Eating cheaply is obviously different, but the portion sizes are still from fair to small depending on the dish. We were there with a larger group and the service was bottomless. Waiting over 1 hour for an invoice after multiple inquiries is a disgrace. It could be an isolated case, but absolutely not a recommendation. I'm really sorry.

The traditional house in Bonn! Change of ownership has obviously done a lot of good. Kale (from the weekly menu) + potato pancakes very tasty; Waiter top.

We were guests at Em Höttche with our women's group (18 ladies) last night. A lovely evening all around! Very nice and quick service - Martina! Good and appetizing brewery food. We'll definitely be back!!

I ate a schnitzel, which wasn't bad, but also not as juicy and tender as at the best breweries. Otherwise the staff was nice and we always had good beer replenishments.

The brewery has a wonderful ambience, everything seems very cozy. The food and service were first class! We will be happy to come back to you on our next visit to Bonn.

Gemütliches Restaurant mit typisch deutscher regionaler Küche. Alles sehr lecker und die Bedienung war sehr gut. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Das Restaurant >Em Höttche< befindet sich unmittelbar im Zentrum der Stadt neben dem historischen Rathaus. Die Küche ist gut bürgerlich und die Speisekarte bietet eigentlich für jeden Geschmack etwas. Wir haben auch ohne vorherige Reservierung nach kurzer Wartezeit einen Tisch bekommen. Unsere Bestellung wurde recht schnell an den Tisch gebracht, was daran lag, daß fast alle Tische besetzt waren. Im großen und ganzen waren wir zufrieden und werden bei nächster Gelegenheit wieder in's >Em Höttche< gehen.

We noticed a mouse on the flior but the bartenders didn’t bother or catch it. We have a pitcture of the mouse. Food was ok. Typical restaurant. If they dimm the lights it would be nicer.

Wir waren im weihnachtlichen Trubel dort. Trotzdem war das Personal sehr entspannt und äußerst freundlich und bemüht. Das Essen war sehr gut. Kommen bestimmt wieder.

Ein gemütliches Brauhaus mit sehr leckeren Speisen und besonders aufmerksamen und unterhaltsamen Personal. Wir hatten einen tollen Abend. Das Schnitzel hätte etwas mehr gewürzt sein dürfen und etwas mehr Sauce wäre schön. Meine Blutwurst war ein Traum :)

Service is fantastic, and we love the environment. The staff there really know how to take care of customers. They serve authentic German food. It was a bit on a salty side but its ok we can down it with tasty beer.

Die Qualität des Service hat seit dem Wechsel stark nachgelassen. Wir warteten lange bis die Bestellung aufgenommen wurde und das erste Kölsch serviert wurde. Die Essenbestellung wurden vergessen und dann erneut aufgenommen. Zwischenzeitlich bekamen die Nachbartische ihr Essen. Wir saßen währenddessen vor leeren Kölschgläsern. Die Rechnung kam nach zweimaligen nachfragen. Schade.

Gemessen am üblichen Standard der "bürgerlichen" Gastronomie müssen wir ein großes Lob aussprechen. Das Angebot an Speisen, Qualität und Preis-Leistungsverhältnis entsprach voll und ganz unseren Erwartungen bzw. hat diese teilweise auch übertroffen - wir waren rundum zufrieden.

Obwohl das Restaurant schon sehr voll war, konnte uns spontan noch ein Tisch angeboten werden. Tolle Auswahl an Speisen nach deftiger rheinischer Küche, geschmacklich gut aber der Beilagensalat hätte noch feiner geschnitten sein können. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war in Ordnung, gute Innenstadt Lage.

Obwohl das Lokal gut besucht war, war das Bedienpersonal sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Bestellungen wurden zeitnah ausgeführt.

Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Nur unsere Bedingungen hatt uns kein Besteck zum Essen gegeben. Ich hatte beim Nachbartisch um Besteck gefragt.

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe für unsere Weihnachtsfeier vor Ort. Die Reservierung hat wunderbar geklappt. Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend. Die Bedienung war überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Weil es so schön war, ist es spät geworden. Mit dem Essen waren auch alle zufrieden.

Wir haben 3 x die Gänsekeule bestellt und waren davon sehr angetan. Dank auch an die sehr freundliche Bedienung, die sogar für den Hund noch eine Schale mit Wasser gebracht hat. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne ins Höttche! Ihr "Nachtwächter" Jochen van Üüm

Ich kann das "Em Höttche" leider nicht weiterempfehlen. Ich hatte Sahnehering mit Bratkartoffeln bestellt. Die Bedienung brachte allerdings Sahnehering mit Kartoffelpüree. Mein Nachfrage, warum die Beilage ohne Rücksprache ausgetauscht wurde, konnte erst nach Rückfrage der Bedienung in der Küche beantwortet werden. Es stellte sich heraus, dass die (Brat)kartoffeln "leer" waren. Keine (Brat)Kartoffeln mehr da - habe ich so bisher auch noch nicht gehört. Jedenfalls wäre ein Hinweis VOR der Bestellung hilfreich gewesen. Die Frage, ob ich stattdessen Pommes als Beilage haben möchte oder gleich neu bestellen möchte habe ich verneint, da Pommes aus meiner Sicht nicht zu Sahnehering passen und eine Neubestellung wiederum mit einigen Minuten Wartezeit verbunden gewesen wäre. Leider hat sich aus meiner Sicht seit dem Betreiberwechsel sowohl die Auswahl der Speisen als auch der Service spürbar verschlechtert.

Em Höschen ist ein Bonner Original. Ein zwischen Ding zwischen Brauhaus und Speiserestaurant. Rustikal aber sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Es gibt rheinische Spezialitäten, z. B. Kesselkuchen, Sauerbraten, Rinderroulade mit Apfekrotkraut und Reibekuchen mit Apfelmuss. Im Sommer kann man auch vor dem Haus Speisen, fast vor dem alten bonner Rathaus. Meine Empfehlung immer einen Tisch reservieren.

Waren mit einer Gruppe von ca. 25 Personen vor Ort. Alles verlief reibungslos. Das gut bürgerliche Essen war sehr lecker, die Portion hätte somit etwas größer sein dürfen. Die Bedienung namens Sara war super, sie hatte alles 'im Griff' und behielt den totalen Überblick, war aufmerksam und freundlich, selten so bewirtet worden! Einen besonderen Dank an Sara!

Sehr leckere Gerichte auf der Speisekarte, dazu ein lecker Kölsch und der Abend war perfekt, sehr freundliche Bedienung und auch die Atmosphäre ist prima....Stand 10.12.23...neuer Pächter....leider....Sehr unfreundliche Bedienung...Hier gehen wir nicht mehr hin...
