If you are in Bonn then you should have been here. You will be warmly welcomed right at the entrance. The beer (naturally cloudy) is awesome. Absolute recommendation!!!!

The food wasn't good. We had the currywurst and the schnitzel with champion sauce, everything tasted like ready-made products... We wouldn't come back.

Their own beer was one of the best beers I've ever had.

Noisy eatery where the tables are so close together that the waiters can hardly get past them. Dishes not really warm and come too quickly one after the other. Food and service were okay. Price-quality ratio reasonable.

We hadden gereserveerd bij Brauhaus bönnsch in Bonn en kwamen in de kelder terecht. Daar was het gelukkig wat rustiger dan op de begane grond. We kozen allemaal voor het seizoensgerecht. De gans ( poot of borst) met rode kool en kartoffel klosen of gebakken aardappels . Dat was geen verkeerde keuze, het was echt heel erg lekker. De medewerkers waren vriendelijk en het bier was ook goed..

There was only room left in the basement. Unpleasant part. The food was lukewarm. So leave the fries. The rest did not excel in taste. Not worth repeating.

The interaction this evening on December 12th, 2024 was unfriendly. After the waiter with an iPad showed us to the table, the waitress pointed out to us that we couldn't just sit down and would have to wait outside until her colleague brought us to the table. I explained that we had been waiting for almost an hour and the colleague had just led us to this table. She then accused me of speaking in a normal tone. I then said, "I'm sorry. I just got angry." She didn't even apologize. I have never experienced this type of greeting at the table in any restaurant. I immediately lost my appetite before I even ordered anything. The food was lukewarm. I have a stomach ache afterwards.

I was there on Thursday last week and ordered a typical Rhenish specialty Himmel un Ääd, which was quite ok in terms of taste (however, the dish also takes a lot of getting used to and is probably not 100% my thing 😅). Apart from the Flönz, I've had better similar dishes. Unfortunately, I have to criticize the service: At first I wanted a place for one person and the waitress (a young man) then walked off and said: Yes, I'll be right there and then he walked past me several times and didn't bother to look around I cared. I then asked an older lady who immediately showed me a table. Later when I was paying, this older lady took forever to get a table (but there were a lot of people) and instead of charging me afterwards, she apparently forgot about me and cleared the large table (even though she saw me sitting there). I had to ask another young, taller gentleman. Luckily he picked me up straight away. The ambience is very nice with these golden cauldrons and the lovingly playful (especially Christmas-like) decoration ☺️ Only the benches are much too hard. I would have liked a soft pillow. So overall it's probably not worth going anymore. The Preuse are set really high for that. Below is a small excerpt from my TikTok video.

Service was very good. The ambience is just a brewery. It's quite comfortable and there's not much else to complain about. The meal: Sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings. The menu said homemade red cabbage (spoiler! It wasn't homemade). But if it's on the menu, then you expect it and then you have to tell it as a service when ordering. Otherwise you feel a bit cheated. Sauerbraten and sauce were bombastically good! So a positive experience with brokering. I would go there again too. But I can also make jarred red cabbage at home. This bothers me because I was so looking forward to it.

We have been there a couple of times: one by ourselves, the second we were invited ;) Let's start from the positives: - The mood is right, - Our service was right, fast and competent with funny remarks, We eat the ORIGINAL RHEINISCHER SAUERBRATEN and BRAUHAUS - GULASCH VOM RIND: - The Rotkohl und Sauces were perfect, And the most important NEGATIVES: - Meat in both meals was dry and tasteless, as if it was kept in a freezer and heated in a microwave :( - Kartoffelklößen - the same story: clearly not fresh boiled, from the freezer and heated, thus gummy. All in all 2-3 points :(

Bei einem unserer sporadischen Besuche in Bonn wollte sich mein Mann mal wieder mit ehemaligen Kommilitonen und deren Partnerinnen treffen. Als Treffpunkt wurde das Brauhaus Bönnsch vereinbart, einer der Kommilitonen reservierte für 8 Personen. Als wir ankamen, war es trotz Wochenmitte brechend voll und fürchterlich laut. Eine normale, gepflegte Unterhaltung war nicht möglich. Der Kellner kam recht schnell und nahm erst mal die Bestellung für die Getränke- überwiegend natürlich Bönnsch-Bier, auf. Aber auch die beiden Weintrinkerinnen in der Runde mussten nicht auf dem Trockenen sitzen bleiben. Die Getränke kamen dann auch recht flott, aber dann dauerte es sehr lange, bis wir endlich das Essen bestellen konnten. Dieses kam dann überraschend schnell. Es sah nach Massenabfertigung aus. 5 von uns hatten den Leberkäse mit Bratkartoffeln und Spiegelei bestellt: die lieblos auf den Teller geklatschten recht dünnen Leberkäsescheiben waren seeeehr dunkel gebraten, die Bratkartoffeln nicht knusprig, sondern *lätsch* und schwammen im Fett, das Ei sah aus, als hätte es schon länger rumgestanden und alles zusammen war nur lauwarm. Ich hatte den Bönnschen Brotlaib mit Griebenschmalz. Damit kann man zum Glück nicht viel falsch machen. Das hat geschmeckt. Die restlichen beiden entschieden sich für die Gulaschsuppe. Auch die hätte deutlich wärmer sein dürfen. Der Kellner liess sich, nachdem er das Essen serviert hatte, nur sehr selten bis gar nicht mehr an unserem Tisch sehen, um zu fragen, ob es noch etwas sein darf. Wenn wir noch Getränke haben wollten, musste sich einer auf die Suche nach ihm machen. Wegen des Essens muss man da wirklich nicht hin, das vor Ort gebraute Bier ist halt Kult, schon wegen der Gläser. Deshalb geb ich gut gemeinte 3 Punkte. Das nächste Treffen findet garantiert wo anders statt.

We were there for dinner on Saturday. The service was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately my meal *Dumpling Trilogy* wasn't good at all. The dumplings were lukewarm and the consistency was as compact as tennis balls. Unfortunately inedible and also very tasteless. As for the side dish for the dumplings (tomato sugo), a few leaves of arugula and even less parmesan shavings. This combination (tomato sugo) should perhaps be reconsidered. A melted brown butter with good parmesan would go better with the dumplings. A small salad bouquet instead of tomatoes would also be great. My husband had knuckle with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, which was okay so far. I complained about my food and got a coffee on the house.

Food is really very good! Service great! Very friendly. The only beer in all of Bonn that is brewed locally. And it tastes very good too!!!! Ambiance is cozy. I will come more often

Small, cozy, rustic restaurant. We spontaneously stopped in for a lunch snack after a long walk on the Rhine. The Bönnsch was perfect for quenching your thirst! The soup was tasty - but could have been hotter may. The Halve Hahn was also very good. Friendly, attentive and quick service! We were completely satisfied and will definitely come back there when we visit Bonn again!

Nice restaurant with a nice atmosphere and good food. I think it's a bit cheeky to charge a bottle of beer and a bottle of Sprite separately for a non-alcoholic Radler at the full price, especially since it wasn't pointed out and a normal Radler would be cheaper. 6.80 per 0.5 shandy in the kit is a little steep.

A quaint and very well-known brewery in the middle of Bonn that brews its own beer. Personally, I think the beer is very tasty. Everything went great on our last visit. Without a reservation, we got a table for three people in a very short time and were served immediately. The young, nice lady who served us was very attentive and fulfilled all of our wishes perfectly. We all really enjoyed the food we ordered and the coffee at the end was also excellent. My friend loved the consistency and delicious taste of the milk foam in her cappuccino. So, highly recommended!

Traditional German restaurant, clean and cosy. Probably you might need to wait for your dish, unlike of Augustiner or Hofbrau with thier almost instant delivery.

You know a lot of Kölsch but Bönnsch? The Bönnsch is very close to the Stadthaus train stop. You can enjoy delicious, home-style cuisine and the special glass of Bönnsch is very nice

The review only applies to yesterday's visit. We sat downstairs. It was too loud there so you couldn't have a conversation. Had reserved. But unfortunately there was no more room upstairs. Food was great, service was also great. Will definitely come back soon.

Das Essen im Bönnsch hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt: Hirschgulasch und Sauerbraten. Der Service ist aufmerksam und nett. Man muss wissen, dass es im Lokal recht laut ist. Wir würden trotzdem wieder kommen.

Always great, delicious food, good beer, what more could you want

German is not my mother tongue, so I asked what Ziege meant. Due to this question, the waiter thought I ordered a Ziege salat (which is also on the menu) instead of the Ziege flammkuchen. When the waitress brought the salat to the table, I mentioned the confusion. The waiter who took my order shouted from the other table that I ordered a salat and said that was what I ordered. I wanted to show the Ziege flammkuchen in the menu, but there was no time for that. The waitress put the salat on the table and walked away. I felt embarrassed and would have appreciated the waiter coming to our table, asking what happened or e.g. give a drink for free to show understanding for the confusion. It would have turned a misunderstanding in a great experience and would have shown hospitality instead of hostility. When paying the bill, the waiter who took the order asked if we wanted to add a tip to the bill. The answer was "no". He sighed and let us go.

I had a great time here! Like the food but don’t like Kölsch…

Traditional brewery in the typical atmosphere. Delicious down-to-earth cuisine. As usual, it was packed on Saturday evening. The service is still relaxed, friendly, quick and simply great. But what stands out above all else is the truly unique, naturally cloudy Bönnsch. A taste sensation far removed from other top-fermented regional beers. So delicious that when we left we had to enjoy one at the counter "for the road" and then walked to the hotel. Thanks Bönnsch.

We got the last place in the outdoor area. We said that we would like to eat something and were given the menu. We ordered drinks straight away. When we got the drinks, we wanted to order the food. The answer we got was that it was busy and they weren't allowed to take orders for the next 30-40 minutes. You should say something like that straight away. But the beer was good.

Quaint brewery in the middle of Bonn with its own delicious beer. The service was quick and friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our food (4 people). Unfortunately, my roulade was very tough (that shouldn't happen with a braised dish like this) and the accompanying potatoes with red cabbage were quite tasteless. The other three dishes, however, were delicious. All in all, we had a lovely evening at Bönnsch!

Colleagues dinner! The service was pleasant, the atmosphere was quite noisy and the waiting time for the steaks was 25-30 minutes. We ordered schnitzel and pork cod, and the big plus was the food experience.

Despite the stress and the full house, she still had a wonderful, attentive attitude towards me who only ordered one drink! :)

Today I had dinner with my girlfriend at Brauhaus Bönnsch. Didn't reserve. At the top table the restaurant was fully booked. Then we went there just by chance. Got a table in the entrance area. Drinks and food came very quickly. Very tasty, red cabbage goulash with spaetzle and liver cheese with fried egg, reorder of beer also came quickly. Everything was super organized. Boss very accommodating, he keeps an overview. Highly recommended. Happy to come back 🫶

We came here last month, and wish we could return. My only Schweinshaxe of the holiday, and it was superb. Staff were very friendly and helpful, sat in a lovely booth inside. The beer was good in the fun glasses. A must-visit in Bonn.

Nice place with good beer. We sat outside, unfortunately we weren't served for a long time, so I ordered 2 beers at the counter and brought them out myself. What I found to be very negative is that the landlord rounded himself up to €8 (instead of €7.2), so he forced the tip on me. I was too perplexed at that moment. But I think it's a bit wrong to not be served and just keep a tip with a quick comment.

Had to wait an hour for the food. Only after asking was the food delivered within 5 minutes. There was sauerkraut in the braised onions. To make up for it there was a stale beer.

Overall, a good performance, unfortunately the space assigned to us in the basement was very loud and had little charm. The food came at very different times, can happen. The food itself was okay. The excellent service from the employees has put a lot of things back on track. Unfortunately, the Kaiserschmarrn had little to do with the dish.

We were at Brauhaus Bönnsch this Saturday with a group of 23 people and had a wonderful time. The communication during the reservation was very helpful and uncomplicated. The food – Rhenish specialties – was excellent, and we all really enjoyed the home-brewed beer. The waitresses were all very friendly and attentive. Since we had already communicated our meal requests in advance, all dishes were served at the same time - perfectly organized! We also really liked the special ambience in the brewery. The two copper kettles in the room and the historical pictures from Bonn's political history on the walls create a cozy and interesting atmosphere. Everyone in our group was completely satisfied. A very big thank you to the entire Brauhaus team – we would love to come back!

Absolutely awesome shop. Went there two days in a row and weren't disappointed. In particular, the man at the bar, Mr. Prendi, always has a smile on his face, no matter what.

Local beer is definitely something to try out. Burger was mediocre, so I would recommend going for something else...

Nice place in the center of Boon. I wanted to taste something typical, we stopped attracted by the wooden ravioli outside the restaurant. The dish I tasted did not completely meet my expectations, it arrived at the table not very hot and this bothered me a bit. Not very strong taste. The shank, on the other hand, is very good and tasty. The beer, even if unfiltered, was a little watered down.

We wanted to eat something typically German and, although in the historic center, we opted for this place. The environment is nice and quite evocative with wooden tables and benches to share with other customers. We had the roast pork shank which I highly recommend and a dish with meat, vegetables and potatoes which was good but not as good. The beer, although homemade, is the most robust one and is very light, almost watered down. I speak English and the service is quick.

I can't say anything about the food, we just drank, as schnapps thrushes do. The Bönnsch is a very fine drop that oils the palate well and makes the thrush fly. The brewery itself also looks chic and the service was great, we ordered without saying a word. Eye contact with the counter was enough.

We had reserved a table for 10 people on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The brewery was well attended. The first drink order was at our table in a few minutes. It didn't take too long to eat either. Unfortunately the following drink orders took a very long time. Things didn't improve in the evening either. For example, I would have an apology or drinks on the house. Not a bad idea, but unfortunately it didn't exist.

I missed Rhenish cuisine so much because I live in Freiburg. Great food, great ambience and very fast, friendly service. Simply great. I hope I have the opportunity to take advantage of their hospitality again. 🤩👍

We had the lunch menu, schnitzel with onion-bacon sauce, fried potatoes and salad, it wasn't bad, but we've eaten much better at Bönnsch.

Very good food and beer. Portions very big. Very busy restaurant so took time to be seen by the staff. I would recommend because the food is absolutely lovely.

We were there on average twice a month this year and enjoyed almost everything there except for the Braumeisterschnitzel (we mostly ate and drank). However, since the new price list, the Bönnsch beer 0.2 liters now costs an impressive 2.40 (0.3 liters 3.60). At this point we are out now! Since I and my wife quickly have 12 to 15 beers in the evening, this is no longer acceptable for us. If you also take into account the fact that the glasses there (apparently according to tradition) never have the filling value that you ultimately have to pay for, the fun has finally come to an end for us. We will only occasionally get a 5 liter barrel here if we really want to drink Bönsch again, which is not cheap, but still acceptable. Otherwise, there are plenty of other places with better price/performance ratios that we will support.

Typical restaurant, right in the center of Bonn...wide choice of traditional German dishes...the home-produced beer is delicious!

I love their beer, and I've eaten the best pork knuckles I've ever had in Germany here. The staff is helpful (unlike other renowned breweries throughout NRW), and some of them know English. They have an English menu, too.

I drank two beers and rounded up from €7.30 to €8. After he had put my remaining money on the table, I put my notes in my pocket and he took my €2 remaining money from the table without asking. He just put it in his pocket and I was in shock. Disgusting. Was an older, somewhat chubby man. Happened on August 15th at 11 p.m. An unpleasant situation!

Unfriendly and rude service. Scared us away from our table because guests who arrived 5 minutes after us didn't want to sit at the table in the sun so we could offer them our table.

You simply have to visit it once in Bonn. The beer is very tasty and so is the food. I can highly recommend both the pork knuckle and the sauerbraten. The waiting time is short and even when the house is full, the waiters are extremely friendly and attentive. I like coming here because the level of quality and service is consistent here and unmatched elsewhere. EDIT: We wanted to go back to Bönnsch today, but were very rudely asked by a waiter "not to take the whole table" when we sat down outside, because the tables were for 8 people. It would have been very tight with eight of us, plus we were still waiting for a friend and there was nothing else free outside. The way in which this was communicated was un(hospitable) friendly and spoiled our appetite. We ended up going somewhere else.

Stopped in on Saturday, 4 people, 3 Bönnsch, 8 Radler, 2 wheat and 4 dishes: According to our guest, malt schnitzel was ok, but not outstanding, as far as the special breading was concerned, meatloaf pan was also ok, shank meat pan and salad with meat - all in all were the dishes only average good, 125 €. The service, however, was great, friendly, funny, quick. I give it 4 stars graciously.

Great authentic German food and beer. Service is good though can be hard somtimes to flag someone down when its busy. Food is delicious but don’t bother with the desserts as they’re all terrible. Highly recommend the pork knuckle.

The Braumeisterschnitzel on the menu was much more exciting and tasty at the beginning than it was when consumed afterwards. Unfortunately the breading was very unspectacular and tasteless and not seasoned at all. The fried potatoes were from a ready-made dish from Aldi. They tasted halfway okay. All in all it wasn't anything special as we had expected more from it.

We had the tarte flambée (very good), the burger (also very good), Bönnsch (very good) and three Brauhaus knuckles (bad). The knuckles were at the table 10 minutes after ordering. However, they were almost bone dry. The mashed potatoes were already dried on the outside. So these were prepared plates that were kept warm for far too long and then served dried out. This wasn't a brewery specialty. A pity!
