The typical German relaxed cuisine. Tasty food in normal portions. The schnitzels as well as the fish dishes are superb and tasty. With friendly and smooth service. And all that for affordable prices. As Belgians, we always know where to find this restaurant when staying in Kleve. Here we come again.

First time eating there again in a long time. The food was above average, as was the service. New chairs and tables were purchased outside - definitely a good move. Prices were reasonable.

Very nice restaurant. Nice view from the beer garden and the decor in the restaurant is rather rustic. The food is good but rather traditional. Perfect for family celebrations.

Today I ate at the Landhaus am Forstgarten restaurant and had an incredibly delicious burger. I had a seat outside and sat outside in beautiful weather. We had a wonderful day, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. I can only recommend this restaurant.

Great atmosphere in the zoo and old spa area. Bicycle friendly for everyone who comes by bike. There are enough parking spaces available. Friendly and courteous service. Food excellent and freshly prepared! It does what it promises on the card! Highly recommended for Kleve!

Friendly service but the waiting time was very long. Our Schnitzels were also quite dry and that was quite a disappointment for us, in a German restaurant.

We were there one afternoon. To dance on your blood feet. That was organized that afternoon. You can camper there. The beautiful surroundings. You can also meditate there.

Delicious breakfast. Everything it takes. Various bread/rolls. Different types of sausage/cheese. Salmon. Several egg dishes. Leaves nothing to be desired. Again and again.

Cosy, but somewhat old-fashioned restaurant, you have to like it. The terrace is very cozy, nice view and service was also excellent.

Very tasty food, service still needs some improvement, but the dishes and the warmth of the staff will definitely make us come back.

Had a great snitzel. A really nice cozy restaurant. There is a beautiful aboretum next to it with super old trees. All kinds of schnitzel with sauce or without. Plenty of choice. The zoo is also nearby. Great fun.

Were there today without a reservation (4:30 p.m.). We were lucky there was still a table available. The restaurant is a bit dark on the inside but cozy. The food was a 1 with stars. There was beef fillet with mushrooms and rösti + a small side salad and schnitzel with chanterelles in a light cream sauce with French fries and also a small side salad. Both very tasty, compliments to the kitchen. The service was very friendly, attentive and helpful. Gladly again . Kind regards, Andreas

Good home cooking in a quiet atmosphere. Had lunch there with my mother and we were both very satisfied. The portions are large and the price is very reasonable. The service was prompt and always friendly.

We stopped by here spontaneously yesterday and were just able to get a table in the outdoor area. Friendly waitresses brought refreshing drinks from a nice selection of drinks. The menu includes home-style dishes, and there is also a wide range of cakes and tarts. The location on the edge of the old baroque garden is perfect.

We went there today for the breakfast buffet. It was packed but the two sisters managed everything completely. The plates at the buffet were never empty. The quality was excellent. The selection is huge and everything is fresh. You won't get a better breakfast in a 5 star hotel. The price-performance ratio also deserves 5 stars. We will come back on our next stay in Kleve. Keep it up.

In Unkenntnis des Eigentümerwechsels bekamen wir ein grauenhaftes Essen. Schnitzel (kam bereits 2 Minuten nach der Bestellung!) verlor gleich die Panade. Es hatte offensichtlich lange warm gelegen. Besteck wurde trotz Erinnerung nicht gebracht, musste dann von uns selbst geholt werden („habe ich leider vergessen“, so die Bedienung. Es wäre allenfalls ein Punkt zu geben, aber nur für das tadellose Sommerwetter.

Just something different than a standard restaurant in the center. Typically German with a cozy outdoor terrace directly on a park/walking area. Easily accessible both by bicycle and by car. It attracted an older audience, but as a family with children and a dog you are very welcome. Food was good in taste, portion and price. Worth repeating.

Even now with a new owner. Very tasty food in a cozy atmosphere. Whether as a group or alone, no one goes home hungry here. The service is very friendly, helpful and attentive. A restaurant that we would happily recommend. If the weather permits, go out to the beer garden. There you have a great view of the forest garden while you eat.

The happy hour prices on Friday night are great! We paid 💶13.50 for fried fish with fries and salad. The fried fish was very good and it was a substantial portion of fish. The fries were excellent. The salad even had egg in it and was good. There is a vast selection of beers, German and otherwise. It's a big restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor dining. The feel is rustic. You can come in and have a whole meal with your family or come in and have drinks with one friend and sit and talk. But whatever you do, do not skip desert. The "strawberry cup" is a full on fresh strawberry sunday with strawberry sauce, fresh whipped cream and french vanilla icecream. It is a delicious treat. Seriously, even if you end up having fewer beers save room for this desert!

Wow, what a hidden gem! We discovered the Landhaus Forstgarten by chance during our trip to Kleve and were thrilled by the excellent service and culinary highlights. From the moment we walked in we were treated like family. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, with beautiful gardens and a charming rustic interior. Our server, Rojda, was knowledgeable and attentive, helping us select the menu and taking time to answer our questions. The food was absolutely fantastic! We started with the seasonal soup which was very creamy and rich. The main courses were perfectly prepared and presented, the flavor dimensions exploded. Unfortunately I have to use a star verb that he can't defend. Yes, it's true, this Saulaben doesn't get a single star. 1. the cheese in my sausage salad was hard and old 2. we sat there and DURING OUR MEAL, the landlord put a RESERVED sign on our table (even though we wanted dessert and got our food 2 minutes before) which means you will be kicked out, an absolute disgrace!!!!!

We were guests at the Landhaus Forstgarten today as a family with 2 children (7 & 8 years) directly after our visit to the adjacent Klever Zoo and felt very comfortable. We sat outside on the terrace in a wonderful atmosphere, the service was very friendly and the food was great - good home-style, sufficient and there was a great little children's menu.

Went for breakfast with 28 people and reserved a table. Everything was fine, service was very attentive. Can be recommended.

We spontaneously wanted to go out for dinner in the evening, but the kitchens in most restaurants were already closed. We called the Landhaus late at night and got a table at short notice. There were three of us and we had: Salmon steak with tagliatelle: The perfectly fried salmon steak is crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The ribbon noodles are cooked al dente and absorb the flavors of the light, creamy sauce excellently. 2x Smashburger with cheese and bacon: This smashburger is a burger lover's dream. The beef is rich in flavor and wonderfully juicy, with an irresistible crust that is created when “smashed”. The melted cheese combines harmoniously with the crispy bacon. A rustic bun holds everything together and offers the perfect bite. The ambience wasn't quite my thing, but it was very quiet and pleasant. The service is first class. We received a very friendly welcome and were served immediately. The waiter is very attentive and listened to our every wish.

Delicious food and plenty of it. And very affordable

We had the vegetarian Thai curry. This is a bag of basmati rice with a ready-made sauce. The whole thing for €18.90. Either you offer high-quality vegetarian/vegan dishes or you shouldn't. The furnishings in both the dining room and the toilets are very old. The location right next to the forest garden, the Kurhaus Museum and the zoo is great. Because of this, I was hoping for better cuisine.

Especially many elderly people who come to eat here. Parking was difficult because there is also an animal park next to it and a museum. It is a real old-fashioned restaurant. Menu is good, food too. Eating could be a little faster, but that's all the criticism.

The restaurant is in a nice location and the outdoor area in particular would invite you to linger... if it weren't for the new tenants. The employee, who was there before the tenant changed, is very friendly and professional, the others are hectic and disorganized... and the food is just bad - the level of a bad restaurant. Unfortunately it was Christmas for the last time: tough steaks, sauce in a bag🥴 and canned mushrooms😤 We (4 people) waited for well over an hour.

Unfortunately, after today I have to revise my first rating downwards. We had ordered a table for 3 people on Christmas Day. I asked for a table with comfortable chairs as my mother is a bit older. We got there and stood in a queue. When it was our turn, we stood around stupidly, no one came and escorted us to the table, my husband had to ask. A table right at the entrance with uncomfortable wooden chairs. Then we sat around until we caught a waitress. We asked for the menu and ordered drinks. They said that first we would get the small Christmas card and then the “normal” card would be brought to us. This didn't happen, instead another waitress told us there was only the small menu at Christmas. We looked at it and for me as a vegan there was exactly ONE dish and it was 5 euros more expensive than usual! A soup (in a slightly larger cup) cost 9.90!!! When I asked why everything was more expensive, I said it was a surcharge because of Christmas! No thanks!!!! We drank our malt beer and two apple spritzers for 11.30 euros (!) and left! Apparently it's been going on like this for 20 years. Sorry, but if it's my first time there at Christmas, how am I supposed to know, especially since there's nothing about it on their website (reduced menu and more expensive)?!!! This restaurant has seen us for the last time!!! We prefer to eat somewhere that doesn't get ripped off like that!

Wir waren Samstagabend dort zum Essen und waren begeistert. Das Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und das Essen klasse! Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut in Ordnung!

Ein bisschen altmodisch von der Einrichtung her, aber es gibt fantastisches Essen bei bestem Service. Ich kann die Burger sehr empfehlen. Sie haben aber auch eine bunte Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten.

Gutbürgerliches Restaurant nach 'Inhaber'- Wechsel mit verbesserter / modernisierter Speisekarte. Die versprochenen türkischen Einflüsse sind leider gering. Immerhin jetzt einige vegetarische Hauptgerichte. Veggie-Burger sollte noch angeboten werden. Die Kuchenauswahl umfasst einige Kuchen- u. Tortensorten, Grillagetorte (Besonderheit des Niederrheins) fehlt leider. Die Salz- und Pfefferstreuer "aus dem vorigen Jahrhundert" sollten durch Salz- und Pfeffermühlen ausgetauscht werden. Freundliche Bedienungen. Kinderfreundlich. Zur Lage noch angemessene Preise.

Hat leider nichts mehr mit dem alten "Altes Landhaus" zu tun. Seid dort neue Besitzer sind, wird die Qualität des Essens immer schlechter - Karte ist langweilig, es wird viel mit Fertigprodukten gearbeitet und mein Schnitzel war sehnig und trocken. Auch der Service ist sehr viel schlechter geworden: hektisch, zu schnell, unorganisiert. War jetzt drei mal dort und werde nicht mehr hingehen.

Prima gegeten. Geen hoogstandje, maar lekker en ok. Bediening is kortaf en afstandelijk. Het is wat oubollig en versleten interieur, maar voldoet.

Es war dort ein fast voll besetztes Restaurant anzutreffen und das zur Mittagszeit. Gut, daß wir reserviert hatten. Die Speisekarte ist nicht überfrachtet und liegt im Markttrend mit Fisch-, Fleisch- und vegetarischen Speisen. Auch Kinder werden hier garantiert etwas für den Gaumen finden. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis halte ich für angemessen. Man wird hier freundlich empfangen und bedient. Die Speisen wurden in einem angemessenen Zeitraum serviert und waren sehr lecker. Das alte Landhaus hat mit seinen jetzigen Inhabern an gemütlicher Ausstrahlung nichts eingebüßt Bei entsprechender saisonaler Wetterlage ist der Außenbereich mit Blick auf Kleves Parkanlagen etc. (Amphitheater, Forstgarten) und auch in Nähe des Klever Tiergartens allemal in einer ambitionierten Lage wunderschön gelegen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.👍☺

Die Speisekarte bietet eine tolle Auswahl, egal ob man Fleisch, Fisch oder vegetarisch bevorzugt. Das Essen an sich ist ebenfalls gut. Das rustikale Lokal in einer absolut tollen Lage ist sehr gemütlich und lädt zum Wohlfühlen ein. Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und aufmerksam.

Waren zum Frühstück eingeladen Das Ambiente war sehr gut und das Frühstück bis auf Rührei und Speck in Ordnung. Rührei könnte fester und der Speck 🥓 krosser sein. Aber Geschmäcker sind verschieden 👋

Mein Pfefferschnitzel mit Pommes frites und Salat, war sehr lecker, es ist aber die entspannte Atmosphäre und der Klasseservice, den wir erleben durften, der das Lokal so einladend machte, dass wir uns stundenlang dort aufhielten.

Prachtige plek om te eten. Het eten was erg lekker, een schnitzel. Het was erg druk die vrijdag dus moesten lang wachten op 2 e drankje en om af te rekenen. Zijn maar naar voren gelopen. We begrijpen dat dit overmacht was.

Wir waren heute NM kurzfristig spontan dort und haben erst kaum einen Platz bekommen, da draussen eigentlich alles reserviert und teils besetzt war. Da wir schon vom Frühstücksbuffet vor einiger Zeit begeistert waren, mussten wir das Essen mal probieren….Uns interessierte z.B. die Qualität und Geschmack der Schnitzel sehr. Man wollte einfach mal einen Vergleich zu einigen anderen Restaurants…..In Kleve gibt‘s ja nicht so viele, die gute Schnitzel, bzw. einfache gute Landesküche anbieten…… ——- Wir waren komplett begeistert….. vom Brot vorab - die Schnitzel super fluffig, tolle Panade (kross und lecker), Bratkartoffeln & Pommes & Salat lecker. u n d der Nachtisch……👌🏻ein Hammer…..

Gutes Essen zu einem fairen Preis Gerne wieder

Heerlijk gegeten bij Landhaus Forstgarten, we kwamen vanmiddag per ongeluk in Kleef vanuit Nijmegen. Het is echt al jaren geleden dat ik er geweest ben. Vlakbij het Museum Kurhaus Kleef dat om 17:00 ging sluiten en een mooi park waar om 17:00 een openlucht pianoconcert begon ligt het restaurant. Mijn Rumpsteak met pepersaus was erg lekker en wat er apart als salade bij zat, smaakte ook goed. De bediening was overigens ook zeer vriendelijk. Voor herhaling vatbaar.

Trotz starkem Gast Andrang, sehr schnelle Bedienung, überaus freundlich und aufmerksam. Essen war wirklich sehr gut und preislich angemessen.

Vandaag vanaf 10.00 uur ontbijt gegeten. Zó lekker en uitgebreid. Écht de moeite waard. Vriendelijk personeel. We gaan hier zéker nog eens ontbijten....

Leider habe wir nicht mehr viel von der Qualität Vergangenheit erlebt. Früher Frische und angagierte Küche! Leider heute nur noch Fertig Produkte! Einzig das Kuchen Buffet kann noch überzeugen. Schade!
