We ordered a bottle of champagne for €105 and were thrown out at one point because "locals" came in. The quality has deteriorated, and customer service has also deteriorated after a few years.

We wanted a break from the Christmas market and to have a relaxing drink. It was very busy. But even without a reservation and without intending to eat, we were served politely.

I ordered sauerbraten with fries. The quality of the meat was okay. It was served lukewarm. The fries arrived after about 5 minutes, after I asked several times. The non-alcoholic wheat beer looked a bit stale when it was served. Overall, you can definitely find much better places to eat for the price of one.

The service was unfortunately poor. We had to wait at least 45 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Unfortunately, the waiter was alone. The food arrived, and we were very disappointed. I don't think it was good value for money. The chairs were very wobbly.

Our visit here was disappointing. We had made a reservation for 18 people for our Christmas party, but due to last-minute cancellations, we only had 13. The waiter repeatedly and quite vehemently reprimanded us for not informing him of the change in party size that morning. The food wasn't very good either. The side dishes arrived late, while the main course was already getting cold on the plate. The side salad, advertised as a Caesar salad, consisted of some romaine lettuce and ONE halved cherry tomato. We cannot recommend this restaurant.

Avoid this place! They're dishonest and we weren't welcome. Arriving as a group of six at their "Christmas market hut," we were freezing. They didn't think it necessary to put us under a heater, even though we were a couple with our parents. Our food orders weren't followed, and they charged us for the most expensive schnitzel, which was nothing like what I got. The burger sauces were also inaccurate—a disgrace!—and the waitress was incredibly unpleasant. Don't go there.

It's best to speak German, as they make mistakes with our food and don't take responsibility. The atmosphere is very nice, but the service is slow; the waiters forget about us after a 45-minute wait.

Abysmal service – overpriced and extremely bad food! Never again! Overwhelmed waiters; groups should definitely find other places, as food was served 40 minutes late and drinks were taken 20 minutes behind the rest of the group. The hot stone was definitely not hot enough, and since everything was served far too late, we ate under time pressure (and it wasn't even hot enough for that). The meat was of very poor quality, and five minutes after it was served, we were already being rushed because the table was only available for another twenty minutes...five minutes before the end of our time, we were kicked out because the next group was arriving. The food description was incorrect ("Gambas" means plural, not a single one), and the sauces were cheaply made and watery. Disgusting for €35! My colleague ordered Aachener Sauerbraten... It was just a simple roast beef (dried out and tough) with sauerbraten sauce. My next colleague had Caesar salad with steak slices for about €23 – again, bland dressing, almost all lettuce, and a tomato for the sake of it... The meat was sparsely distributed 🙄 A complete disaster!! I'm definitely not spending any more money here!

We ate there today. The schnitzel was swimming in sauce. As a result, the breading on top was like soggy skin. And it had hardly any flavor. It was supposed to come with a paprika cream sauce. I searched high and low for the paprika, or at least the flavor. Nothing. The bread served beforehand was very dry. The herb butter, if that's what it was, didn't taste like herbs or spices. Which my husband was very happy about. So, it's a matter of taste. The service was very attentive and friendly. Nice decor. You can feel comfortable there. I've now been burned twice. Unfortunately, that was the last time.

We spontaneously dropped in on a Saturday evening around 8:30/9 p.m. without a reservation and luckily got a table. The service was extremely friendly and very competent. The atmosphere was very cozy. The food was simply fantastic; we were raving about it as we left and were already looking forward to our next visit. We were completely satisfied :)

It was our first time there and we were thrilled. The food was fantastic and the service was fabulous. We sat outside, and it was incredibly quiet and simply beautiful. I can recommend it to everyone!

The restaurant has real potential, but is unfortunately ruined by the poor service. I ordered the grill plate, which was listed on the website under the hot stone, expecting to be able to grill on the hot stone itself. However, all the steaks arrived already cooked, carelessly arranged on the plate. Furthermore, a side fries were forgotten, and weren't delivered even after we asked for it. By then, we'd finished our meal, and they only wanted to keep us in the restaurant with another drink and "compensate" us with a drink. €35 for a grill plate without a side dish was completely unjustified, and the value for money was not right. The cream sauce on the schnitzel was also unfortunately more of a convenience product. I found the reaction of the manager inappropriate; she, practically right next to us, told her colleagues in the restaurant that our side dish wasn't acceptable and asked who had messed it up. What was nice, however, was that they offered a small bowl of chips with the beer, and also some bread with herb butter to start with. Since the two of us ended up paying over €60 without having eaten or drunk much, this will probably be our last visit here, given the reaction and the lack of "compensation," as we still paid full price even though the dish wasn't brought in its entirety. What a shame!

We ate really well, with typical local dishes. The service was also quick and friendly. Prices were average.

We had made a reservation by phone for Saturday evening for five people, a weekend trip to Aachen for the Chio Mustang makeover and sightseeing. We received a very warm welcome, and the service was good and attentive. Two dishes were mistakenly served with mushrooms, even though they weren't meant to be, but they were promptly replaced with apologies. It was veeery tasty, with generous portions. Would come again!

The Hexenhof in Aachen was good. When we get back, we'll have something to eat again.

We had a wonderful lunch here in a lovely setting with delicious and beautifully presented food. The portions were a good size and were served promptly despite the crowds. We especially appreciated the free baby plate, including chicken nuggets and fries. We'd be happy to go again! Update: We were here again today, and the service was once again very courteous. We still highly recommend it!

We found this restaurant and ordered tapas and a Wiener Schnitzel. Everything was very good. First they brought us a bread with olives made by them that was super good. The tapas were also super good: chorizo, pickled eels, cheese, salmorejo, and shrimp with garlic. They also ordered schnitzel with fries. The meat was super tender and the fries were delicious. Sole is super nice and she served us super well. We doubt if I will go back to Aachen, I will go back.

We had a lovely evening with friends. Thanks to the good weather, we were able to sit outside. The salads were delicious and plentiful, filling enough to fill us up. The value for money was good; the tarte flambée was very large and generously topped, and the service was quick and professional.

We came here yesterday after a doctor's appointment because we were a little hungry😊we're from Rott and don't go into Aachen city center that often anymore. We had already looked online for a bowl and then went to the Hexenhof by the apple tree. The first witch was already sitting outside😂😂 doing paperwork and the colleague who supposedly chatters like Gisela Schlüter came out promptly and we then sat down outside at a table which was then nicely set up for dinner. The witch and Gisela teased each other in their own way and you could tell they've been working together for a long time because they get along so well together. So in short, the two of them are so warm, funny, loving, a little sarcastic 😊 honest, openly attentive, if you don't feel comfortable then it's your own fault. And not to mention the food, which was top notch anyway. But with such a great staff, including the lovely, friendly lady behind the counter, they really make everything complete, and you don't feel like you're being served like you would in other places, but rather like you've known each other for years. Thank you all three, we'll be back.

Very disappointing – never again! I don't even know where to begin. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by an unpleasant atmosphere – cold, uncaring, and the owners? Incredibly unfriendly. No smile, no "hello," instead, you're treated like a burden. The food? A disaster. Everything tasted stale and cheap – as if it came straight from a discount store microwave. My dish was lukewarm, mushy, and barely seasoned. The "salad" was wilted and full of brown spots. "Fresh" is apparently a foreign concept here. Even worse was the condition of the restaurant itself. The tables were sticky, the restrooms were a disgrace – no toilet paper, the smell of urine, and dirt everywhere. I'd rather not know what the kitchen looks like if the dining room is already so neglected. Value for money? A bad joke. Even €5 is too much for what's on offer here. I can't for the life of me understand how this restaurant is still open. There are many restaurants, but never one like this again. A complete disappointment and definitely not a recommendation. Anyone looking for good food, hygiene, and friendly service should steer clear.

We had to wait long to make an order, even though the restaurant was not that busy. Then it started to rain and the waiter folded the umbrella and once we wanted to go inside he told us that we can't because there are reservations. We just had 1 beer and he still didn't let us finish the beer inside.

The first time I ordered it, everything was fine and delicious. The second time, I thought there was much less sauce on the Gorgonzola pasta. The dish had almost no flavor for me; I found it extremely bland. I think it's cheeky to skimp on the sauce for a pasta dish that costs €17.90.

Once we were seated, we sat there for over 15 minutes without being served—even though it wasn't busy. After about 20 minutes, we left because no one had taken our order.

I 100% recommend the Hexenhof am Apfelbaum. It's cozy, the food is varied and delicious, and the service is very good and friendly. We felt very comfortable.

We stumbled upon this place by chance. The staff was very friendly and attentive. And the bruschetta was very fresh and delicious. The bread could have been a bit more toasted. Bottom line: highly recommended!

We had a grill pan and an Aachen potato pan. The grill pan steaks were swimming in a sauce. The shredded pork was chewy and tasted like it had been warmed up. Overall the food was disappointing. You can definitely eat better in Aachen.

Nice central, wide menu, but not necessarily cheap. The burgers please with plenty of greens and well-fried patties. The fried potatoes with veal sausages, on the other hand, lack a garnish/tomato. The service for us was slow, or on the phone, otherwise we would have drunk more.

When we are in Aachen, we come here for good food. Right in the old center of Aachen. Friendly service. They also have a beautifully situated terrace.

After the boss (?) made fun of the fact that I wanted a vegan potato pan with vegetables (without a fried egg and with tomato sauce) and after she realized that I didn't find it that funny, she continued anyway, I guess I will won't come back again. I told her that too and I was bullied for it. The service was much more open and nicer and can't help it

Fried cake at the Christmas market opposite Hanswurst/corner of Ursulinerstr. , puny, two fingers tall, staff unfriendly, sauce container empty, my complaint received a mushy answer: leave! And I left. Forever. That's unacceptable for me.

Currywurst with French fries!!! - In our lives we have been able to eat many, many, curry sausages with and without French fries. - Today with a larger group at the Aachen Christmas market and experienced, among other things: At your stand at the Aachen Christmas market you ate, among other things, currywurst with French fries. The currywurst was an indefinable sausage in an indefinable dark, almost black sauce. Cut the sausage pieces very, very small, so that the amount of small slices could not make a whole sausage. In terms of taste, it had nothing to do with the term currywurst. The French fries were made from fresh potatoes, but they had a consistency that made it clear to each of us that they had been fried at least three times and were therefore very crispy. Not all of the French fries were edible because they were too crispy and too well-fried. All in all a bitter disappointment! 😵😫😓😩😕🤨☹️😟🥺😵😫😓😩😵 What was served there bordered on bodily harm in terms of food. And the portion of currywurst with French fries costs a whopping €9.50. A disgrace for what was on the plate. One star in this rating is one star too many. Nice atmosphere, good for a few drinks at the Christmas market. However, we were very disappointed with the food: obviously finished products and rather below average quality. Price-performance doesn't fit here.

I was here during Advent. The potato pancakes were wonderful but pop music was played instead of Christmas music. Happy Christmas music!!

The Hexenhof is centrally located in the old town of Aachen. The restaurant has an outdoor and indoor area. We all enjoyed the food but it wasn't a highlight. As an example, the schnitzel was not a home-breaded piece of meat but a gastro frozen product. Unfortunately, none of us liked the salad dressing, so we left it alone. Overall, I would recommend going to another restaurant, as Aachen has more to offer.

Were there with a group. We felt very comfortable right from the start. The ambience is really nice and it was decorated in an inviting way. In addition, it wasn't a problem at all that we were 16 people instead of 15 as booked; A place setting was quickly added. The service was generally very nice and accommodating. Drinks and food requests were taken care of immediately. The food came quickly and for everyone at the same time, despite the many different dishes. I visited the Hexenhof am Apfelbaum in the summer of 2024. The atmosphere is very nice, especially when the weather is good it's nice to sit outside. Unfortunately it was so full that we weren't served. So unfortunately I can't say anything about the food. After 20 minutes and several contacts with waiters (answer: "I'll be right back") we left without being served.

We 4 people had dinner on the terrace on an August night. The atmosphere was very pleasant, both because of the location and because of the very friendly staff, particularly the owner. All the food we ordered was exquisite, and we really liked the local beer. A highly recommended place for anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet and pleasant dinner in the center of the city.

The food was super good. The service and the general atmosphere are rather too open and familiar. I prefer it to be quieter and don't want to find out too much about the private lives of the owners and staff, but rather enjoy really good food in peace.
