Urige und gemütliche Gastwirtschaft im Zentrum von Aachen. Bedingungen war auch sehr freundlich. Kann man sehr gut weiter empfehlen.

Ich hatte die Lachscanapés mit Kartoffelrösti – einfach exzellent! 😋 Auf der Terrasse bei schönem Wetter fühlte es sich fast wie Urlaub an. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Eine alte Frau an der Theke war leider sehr unfreundlich, wirkte unprofessionell, aß hinter der Theke und bereitete Getränke zu, ohne sich die Hände zu waschen. Das hat den Eindruck etwas getrübt. Aber ein großes Lob an Herrn Mercan von der Außengastronomie – super aufmerksam, freundlich und echt nett. Auf der Speisekarte der Brasserie begeisterte das Gericht „Einhorn Teller“ meine sechsjährige Tochter und mich: drei verschiedene Fleischsorten, hausgemachtes Kartoffelpüree und Sauerkraut – alles war köstlich. Das Personal war so nett, Geburtstagskerzen auf ihren Nachtisch zu stellen. Die Bedienung war überaus hilfsbereit, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich überlege, ob ich nicht morgen wieder hingehen sollte!

Traditionelle, hausgemachte Küche in authentischem Ambiente. Alles war absolut köstlich und geschmackvoll. Das Restaurant versprüht ein ganz besonderes Flair, und die Bedienung war überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ein wunderbarer Ort, um echte, hausgemachte Küche zu genießen – absolut empfehlenswert!

Nette Kneipe, super freundliches Personal. Lecker Essen war schnell da, hat nicht alt oder aufgewärmt geschmeckt, sondern zartes Fleisch und knusprige Pommes. Jederzeit wieder.

Nette Location, wir 5 Mädels sind aber nach einem Getränk gegangen, da die Dame hinter der Theke so abweisend war, dass wir uns überhaupt nicht wohl gefühlt haben.

Unser Besuch entsprach leider nicht unseren Erwartungen. Das Essen war bei der Servierung bereits kalt und die Wartezeit insgesamt sehr lang. Zudem wirkte der Service auf uns wenig zugewandt. Auch geschmacklich konnte das Essen in unserer Gruppe nicht überzeugen, insbesondere im Verhältnis zum aufgerufenen Preis. Wir hoffen, dass das Feedback zur Verbesserung genutzt wird. Daher leider nur 1 Stern.

Wir haben dort am 29. Januar 2026 ein köstliches Essen genossen und waren von Speisen und Getränken begeistert. Das Personal war freundlich, Mert bediente uns den ganzen Abend. Wir kommen im Sommer ganz bestimmt wieder, um draußen auf der Terrasse in der Sonne zu sitzen!

Typische Brauhausathmosphäre, sehr freundliche Bedienung. Essen wie erwartet, der Thunfischsalat war lecker und gross, die Portion Nürnberger Rostbratwürstel mit Püree und Sauerkraut eher klein. gut gezapftes Gaffel Kölsch.

Nach einer Erkundungstour durch Aachen ist ein Besuch in einem traditionellen Restaurant fast schon Pflicht, vor allem um das Schnitzel zu probieren – ein wahrer Star der regionalen Küche. Sie bieten den köstlichen Aachener Sauerbraten an. Wir hatten nicht reserviert, aber sie haben trotzdem einen Platz für uns gefunden.

Sehr uriges Restaurant in bester Lage in der Nähe des Rathauses. Problemlose Tischreservierung und zum vereinbarten Termin, war der reservierte Tisch für uns bereit. Das Servicepersonal war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, die Getränke wurden zügig gebracht und unsere Essensbestellung aufgenommen. Auch das Essen wurde sehr zügig aufgetischt und war sehr lecker! Besonders zu empfehlen ist der Sauerbraten mit Printensoße und auch der Rindergulasch war überaus schmackhaft! Wir können dieses Restaurant sehr empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.

Alle 4 verschiedenen Essen hatten vorgefertigte Bestandteile, die nicht lecker waren.

Ein wirklich schreckliches Lokal. Schon beim Betreten wurde uns nicht einmal eine normale Begrüßung zugemutet, stattdessen hieß es sofort, es seien keine Tische frei. Wir bestellten einen Kaffee, doch die Frau hinter der Bar zeigte keinerlei Interesse. Nach einigem Hin und Her konnten wir schließlich einen schwarzen Kaffee bestellen. Sie hielt uns den Kassenzettel vor die Nase, und als ich mit Karte zahlen wollte, seufzte sie und meinte, nur Bargeld werde akzeptiert (obwohl Personal mit Kartenzahlungsgeräten herumlief, was an der Bar aber nicht ausgeschildert war). Nachdem ich 7 Euro bar für zwei Kaffees im Wert von 6,40 Euro bezahlt hatte, ging die Frau wortlos weg. Als ich nach Wechselgeld fragte, folgte erneut ein Seufzer, bevor ein Portemonnaie mit Wechselgeld auftauchte. Während wir den Kaffee tranken (der übrigens sehr enttäuschend war, nichts Besonderes), hörten wir, wie andere Gäste an der Bar negative Kommentare über den Service und die Gastfreundschaft in diesem Restaurant abgaben. Wenn dieses Restaurant typisch für deutsche Gastfreundschaft sein soll, dann ist es in einem erbärmlichen Zustand.

Wir waren dort zum Mittagessen. Ein nettes und effizientes Lokal. Getränke und Essen wurden schnell serviert. Die traditionellen Schnitzel sind gut, die Wurst hervorragend.

Wir haben nur getrunken. Ich habe aber mit Gästen über das Essen gesprochen. Die haben das Essen gelobt. Ansonsten schöne Lokation mit sehr netten Angestellten.

Die Ente mit Rotkohl und Knödeln war sehr lecker, ansonsten ist es ein sehr gemütliches Restaurant.

Ich wurde von meinem Mann überrascht und wurde mit Kinder nach Aachen entführt eigentlich war es das wir meinen Vater besucht haben den ich schon zehn Jahre nicht mehr gesehen habe ,und habe ich dann sehr gefreut nach einem kurzen hallo sind wir dann zu diesem Restaurant gegangen das mir sehr bekannt ist da mein Vater sehr lange als Koch da gearbeitet hat,und ich die Menschen die da arbeiten sehr schätzen tue und wir wurden wie immer sehr freundlich behandelt und das Essen war gut also ich wurde auf jeden Fall satt und ich mag das gemütliche nicht Moderne sondern wirklich wie es sich für Aachen gehört das alte urische und ich möchte mich nochmals herzlich bedanken für alles und freue mich schon auf ein Wiedersehen eine schöne Weihnachtszeit und einen guten Rutsch wir kommen sehr gerne wieder danke mit lieben Grüßen Angelique hof (geborene Vogt )

Super cooles uriges Lokal,super nettes Personal,leckeres Essen und gutes Bier. Waren wärend unserem Besuch des Weihnachtsmarktes dort,proppe voll aber wir bekam zum Glück noch einen Tisch. Wenn wir wieder mal nach Aachen kommen kommen wir sicher wieder hier her.

During a stay in Aachen, we really enjoyed the quality of the food and the service. We returned and found the same quality. I recommend it. Good value for money.

We tried the baked camembert, schnitzel, and Nuremberg sausages – everything was really tasty and well-prepared. The beer was great, too, and the whole place had a warm, authentic local atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you want a proper regional experience.

We spent a few hours shopping today in the always beautiful Aachen. The weather took a turn for the worse in the afternoon, and we decided to have a drink at Einhorn (with our 6-week-old baby). Always cozy, good beer, and delicious food! Unfortunately, the service today was terrible. We walked in in the pouring rain, put our stroller aside (so as not to disturb other customers), and instead of a friendly "Good afternoon," we were greeted with "You can't just sit anywhere here" – even though we weren't actually planning to sit down, but were simply stepping aside to clear the aisle for others. When we asked if we could sit anywhere (there was a man sitting at the counter, and two of the more than 20 tables were occupied), we received the answer: "I'll ask my colleague right away." Five minutes later, we were still standing there (all five customers in the café already had drinks) and asked again if we could sit anywhere. Then they said, "I just told you I'd ask my colleague right away!" We thanked them and left. I wonder if the waitress was having a bad day or if she didn't like children? I have no idea – but for us, it was the last time...

A typical German restaurant, although they also offer other dishes, such as pasta. Generous portions and good value. It has a terrace, which is where we ate, so we can't comment on the interior.

Very nice restaurant with very good food and very good service. Excellent value for money. We went there for dinner and were very satisfied. They don't have an English menu, so it might be a good idea to know a little German to know what to order or have Google Translate handy. We ordered the Tafelspitz (boiled beef) and the Rindergulasch (beef stew)

We ate at the restaurant with the family today. We had schnitzel. It was very tasty and the sauce was juicy and fresh. The sauces were fantastic. The mushroom sauce clearly shows that it was made with fresh mushrooms. And the pepper sauce was also simply delicious. My mother had the chanterelle mushrooms in cream sauce. She was absolutely thrilled. We will be back as soon as possible. The service was also very friendly and helpful.

Ate there today and unfortunately had one of the worst schnitzels in all of Aachen! Two different dishes, two different sauces, and both sauces were completely inedible! One was worse than the other! Sorry, this has to be much better! On top of that, I got stomach cramps later on.

One of the best meals we've had away from home. The quality of the schnitzel and Nuremberg sausages is a 10/10, and the homemade mashed potatoes are a 12/10. Finally, a chef who uses salt and pepper in the perfect balance. An absolute feast for the palate and highly recommended.

In my opinion, a complete rip-off! The fries were too few and lukewarm, and the chanterelle mushroom sauce was too small and thick, more like a ready-made powder mix for €15.90! I can get better schnitzel and fries for €19.90 at a snack bar! For sitting outside for a beer, yes, everything else is too expensive and too quick, too quick! Not recommended! The toilets are old and dirty, and the trash cans are open, filled with used period products! Super disappointed 😞!

At the Golden Unicorn, you'll be served a fresh and delicious draft pilsner at a bistro table that offers a majestic view of the historic town hall. This stop is a must on my regular visits to the imperial city.

The second time in Aachen, the second time for dinner and beer at Zum goldenen Einhorn. We hade schnitzel and Nürnberger sausages with sauerkraut and a few Bitburger's. Service was swift and prompt and the location is perfect on the big square. Will come back for a third visit next time I'm in Aachen!

We were lucky and were able to enjoy the delicious Bolton beer and the delicious black pudding without a reservation. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was interesting. We wholeheartedly recommend this place.

First I sat outside for a pre-dinner drink, enjoying the view over the market square with the Rathaus just opposite and the Karlsbrunnen. The waiter recommended as a beer an Eifeler Landbier, which was not on the menu card. In Germany there is obviously a tradition to serve the draft beers in a certain amount, always depending on the type of beer and the glasses for it. While the Kölsch I had the evening before comes in 0,2l or 0,4l glasses, this beer from the barrel is served only in amounts of 0,3l. The beer from the nearby Eifel hills and produced by Bitburger was a Bavarian type Helles, thus with less hops than the usual Pils. When it started to drizzle I went inside, where I also ordered dinner. There is an attractive traditional interior with a lot of wood, definitely atmospheric. Soon after I had sat down, a big group of locals arrived, who seemed to know the staff, occupying most of the still available tables. People, who arrived later, had to be comforted to come another day. My choice for a meal, was their own 'Einhorn-Teller', consisting of very German items like baked Blood Sausage, Kassler (cured, smoked pork) and Nürnberger Rostbratwürstchen served on top of Sauerkraut and Kartoffel-Püree. I quite enjoyed it. With it I drank a Paulaner (from Munich), served in the typical glass for wheat beer.

I'm from Paris and wanted to try a regional specialty. The staff was incredibly friendly, the prices very fair, and the restaurant is really nice. I highly recommend it if you're in Aachen and want a typical restaurant with a feel-good factor.

One of the oldest inns in Aachen, with a rustic decor. Beyond the bar, there are three dining and pub rooms, staggered one behind the other, as well as lovely outdoor seating in front of the building with a view of the town hall. Delicious, down-to-earth German dishes are served here in a very friendly manner. The portion sizes weren't too large... but not exactly small either. Some of the tables are very narrow, making them better for beer mugs than dinner plates. You've probably seen, experienced, and shared a lot in these rooms.

Not even worth one star! We had a reservation for two and were seated inside on a hot summer day, where it was even warmer than outside. The service was reasonably friendly, but that's the only positive I can mention. The wine costs €8.50! The "camembert" is an insult to the otherwise oh-so-flavorful creamy French cheese; it's more like a rubber croquette with no flavor, served with fried parsley, not a very fresh salad, and two kinds of baguette, but rather two measly small slices of white and brown that you can barely see. 😕 The price they're asking for it is still too much for what it offers! My friend had the breaded hake fillet, comparable to what you get at a roadside diner, or even worse. 🤔 In short, absolutely not recommended!

If you're looking for a German restaurant where you'll feel right at home, this is the place. 10/10 food and even better service.

A fantastic dining experience in the center square of Aachen. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. The Madagascar schnitzel was very delicious, as was the side of saurkraut. The tomato soup was pulpy, creamy and sweet. All around an excellent time!

Unfortunately for us, the Viennese schnitzel was hard and dry, we may have gotten used to eating it soft by marinating it at home, I don't know, since the service was crowded, I had to get up and get it myself, we asked for ketchup and mayonnaise, but it didn't come. The beef goulash was very soft, its sauce was very good, we ate it with pleasure. In general, the view and the food were satisfying,

I'm not sure if the food was good. It was my first encounter with German cuisine and to be honest it's not my thing. Except for the dessert, it was a killer, an apple cake with cinnamon and ice cream, magnificent. The chucrut and sausages not my thing. Maybe for people more accustomed to Central European cuisine it's good. My husband likes chucrut and his opinion was not convincing. The service, very good, a very smiling young girl who speaks very good English and in the bar a nice woman who speaks English and French. Kisses to both.

We didn't like the place. The food was expensive for what they served. The place smells strongly of food, and the hallway to the restroom smells of urine. The staff was friendly, though.

I went there on a recommendation. Unfortunately, the food, in my opinion, wasn't anything special. There wasn't enough food for one man. My meal only included one dumpling...that's too little. The sauce also tasted just okay. The food was okay, but not outstanding.

We had a lovely dining experience on 21 April. The cozy, traditional German interior created a nice atmosphere. The food was authentic and delicious, with good beer recommendation. A special thanks to the friendly lady who took our order, she patiently explained the menu to us in English, which we really appreciated. Overall, we felt very welcome and well taken care of.

Super friendly staff and landlady. She served us with a smile and make us comfortable to dine there. She recommended us the Aachen cuisines which are perfect to taste. Food is fantastic plus with nice German interior decorations. If you want to have German pork leg, they don’t have it. We had Schnitzel Wienerart mit Pommes frites und kleinem Beilagensalat, „Einhorn-Teller", Aachener Sauerbraten in Printensauce and Paniertes Seehechtfilet. They are good and tasty local food. I will surely be there again.

Very poor customer service. We sat at a free table and waited 30 minutes. Two waitresses one waiter. Nobody looked at us, no greeting, no menu. After 30 minutes we left. What kind of hospitality is that? As Aachen residents, we are disappointed with how customers are treated. Maybe she should pursue another business. I'm ashamed of her.

They made reservations as much as possible and responded kindly, so I enjoyed my meal. During my stay, my colleagues visited three or four times. The schnitzel Madagascar pepper cream sauce is very delicious, and the French fries are very delicious. The beer here is also delicious. I also recommend the rump steak.

It was our first time there. We spontaneously got a table without a reservation. The schnitzel was delicious, but the salad lacked a bit of dressing. The service was very friendly and attentive. If we're ever in Aachen again, we'll definitely come back.
