Nice guests, good service. The food was rather expensive and so-so. The portions were rather meager, and the schnitzel and fries were very greasy. The coffee tasted like coffee crumbs/flavoring. So, a high price for mediocre food, which I think is rather poorly prepared. There's definitely room for improvement here! We thought the salad buffet was very good!

After reading the reviews, I've come to the conclusion that most visitors have no basic knowledge of good food. This particularly applies to preparing a good schnitzel. The sauce is always served separately. The sauerbraten sauce lacked oomph, and the roast should have marinated longer. The cappuccino was very tasty, with a good consistency. Prices are standard.

Beautifully located restaurant in the middle of the forest! We were on the terrace in beautiful weather – the view of the forest is stunning, and the secluded location means you can't hear any traffic noise. The food was solid overall. The Sauerbraten in particular was very good and definitely recommended! A few details could be improved: The appetizer served was a toasted sandwich – we would have preferred fresher bread, such as herb butter or a baguette. Unfortunately, the staff are often not very customer-oriented. On our first visit, we were told in a blanket manner that there were no more seats available. When a colleague of the staff member noticed this, he pointed out that there were still plenty of seats available on the terrace. Today, we were turned away again. Google Maps says the kitchen is open until 8:30 p.m. When we arrived shortly after 8:00 p.m., we were told that the kitchen was only open until 7:30 p.m. When asked, they simply explained that the boss wasn't there and they had no idea what was going on. Overall, my impression is unfortunately rather mixed.

Das Essen war bestenfalls Durchschnitt. Preis und Leistung passen nicht! Die Spargelcremesuppe war sicher nicht frisch zubereitet. Das Schweine- und Rinderfilet und der Fisch waren zumindest gut und auf den Punkt zubereitet. Die Sossen, das haben alle so empfunden, konnten da geschmacklich leider überhaupt nicht mithalten. Den Sherry in der Senfsosse z.B. konnten wir nicht herausschmecken. Eine Gemüsebeilage gab es nicht, stattdessen Fertigsalate an der Selbstbedienungstheke. Das alles wäre noch ok, wenn denn wenigstens der Service gestimmt hätte. Ein Dessert oder Kaffe wurde uns nicht angeboten, also haben wir darauf verzichtet. Ein Kellner war penetrant aufdringlich und unfreundlich, da hat es am Ende noch nicht einmal zu einer Verabschiedung gereicht. Bestenfalls Mittelmass, schade das war nix….wir hatten angesichts der anderen Bewertungen mehr erwartet.

It's one of the more conservative establishments in the area, which isn't meant to be derogatory. The food is very good, although the prices are a bit higher, but still reasonable. It's beautifully situated in the Würselen forest. Very well-maintained grounds with a lovely view of the garden. The staff is very attentive and friendly.

Very high-quality food. Absolutely delicious! Lots of older people, but also good with children because there's a bouncy castle outside. You can take a nice walk in the forest afterward.

Restaurant oder Airline? Ich hatte im April für Mitte Mai reserviert und am Morgen des vereinbarten Tages auch eine Erinnerung erhalten - das lief gut. Allerdings als wir dann dort waren hat man uns mitegeteilt das Resturant wäre überfüllt und die Küche hätte "nichts mehr außer ein paar Schnitzel". Sowas ist mir noch nie passiert. Bravo! Da die Anreise schon blöd war (um Verlautenheide herum, über Stolberg!!!) werden wir das wohl nicht nochmal versuchen. Dann lieber in die Innstadt.

When we ordered a table for our wedding, we were told that we would be allowed to dine in a separate room. But that was no longer the case on the wedding day. We had barely been at the table for 10 minutes and suddenly an older lady appeared and forbade our loudness. We wouldn't be alone in this restaurant. If such people go into the basement to laugh, they should stay there and not spoil the mood of other guests on a special day. But okay, there are always sick people. We were also annoyed by the salad buffet, where there were salad bowls and plates. One of our guests took a plate and helped himself to the buffet. This was reprimanded. You were only allowed to take salad bowls. Plates were for a different category. How would you know that? Something like that really upsets you. Then I asked for a teaspoon. This was not available after 10 minutes. Service staff seemed to be very overwhelmed that day. Conclusion: There are better places with friendlier staff.

It's always worth making a reservation at the Weiden forester's lodge. Plenty of parking spaces (free of charge) available. Afterwards there are beautiful walks for digestion For the weekend: reserve early.

We got a table for 4 people for Easter Sunday at relatively short notice. There was a slimmed down “EASTER CARD”. We ordered different dishes. All 4 were of the opinion: it was really tasty. The food came pretty quickly and was served by very nice staff. We were very satisfied all around. We'd love to come back. Many thanks to the entire team.

I was at the Forsthaus Weiden with my family today and it was just great! The atmosphere is really good – cozy and inviting, perfect for relaxing. The food was delicious, especially the steak, which was just a treat! The preparation was perfect and the taste was simply great. A big compliment to the service! She was super friendly and very accommodating, especially the way she dealt with my kids - really great! We all felt very comfortable and will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Very tasty food, very nice people there. The only drawback is the way there. Since the forester's lodge is so idyllically located in the forest, getting there is not easy. We went there using Google Maps and had to take a lot of dirt roads that weren't supposed to be driven on. But since there were signs pointing to the restaurant, we took them.

Yesterday, we went to the Forsthaus Weiden for a birthday dinner with seven adults and our 3.5-year-old granddaughter. A warm welcome and friendly staff, who even took the time to have a little chat with our grandchild. The food and dessert (cake and ice cream, respectively) were plentiful and delicious. Everyone returned home feeling extremely satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit to the Forsthaus.

Unfortunately, you were treated like a second-class human being just because you are young. The reservation I made was “unfortunately” not found and the waiter then called me out afterwards. Too bad. Not recommended for young people. For pensioners, you fit in well, but you can also just wear a shirt.

The food is excellent - great selection, so everyone can find something, and the portions are generous, the salad buffet is very rich, you definitely go home full. The staff is super friendly and attentive, which makes the stay even more pleasant. Particularly noteworthy is the reliable online reservation - everything went smoothly. The location is perfect: enough parking spaces directly at the restaurant and a fantastic terrace with a beautiful view of nature. The terrace is particularly recommended on sunny days - here you can enjoy nature and simply relax. We'll definitely be back!

This was our second time there. There are plenty of parking spaces, but they are very muddy in bad weather. The restaurant is in the forest and not everything is paved. The service was always quick and friendly. And the Winterkiche Spritz is a welcome change. The food was hot and plentiful and everything we had was very tasty...potato soup, beef broth, etc. The drinks were also great and all at fair prices. We will be happy to remain guests

Very tasty and everything totally fresh. Service was super nice. Prices absolutely reasonable. Today I wanted to make a reservation for 16 people. During the phone call there was arguing and shouting in the background. Impossible - you couldn't understand your own words. The gentleman on the phone asked 3 times what time he wanted. Well then not! As I said, it was about 16 people!!!

We come here often because the food is delicious! The service is also great and the atmosphere on the terrace is also wonderful! You should reserve seats in advance!

Alles bestens, vor extra erstellten Speisekarte sogar mit Hochzeitsbild Und einer vorzüglicher Speisenauswahl. Die Bedienung war vorzüglich. Wir waren alle begeistert (16 Personen). Wenn jemand gut Essen, der ist hier an der richtigen Adresse. Wir kommen seit Jahren dort hin, in gewissen Abständen und wir haben uns jedesmal darauf gefreut, ausser natürlich beim Beerdigungskaffee, aber auch den haben wir dort schon abgehalten. Ich kann die teilweise schlechte Kritik im Internet nicht verstehen, wenn jemand meint, diese Lokation zu kritisieren, der sollte sich einen döner am Bahnhof holen, aber nicht so ein Lokal mit solchem herzblut der Inhaber versuchen, kaputt zu machen. Jedenfalls das Essen, dieses Mal wieder Sahne schnitzel war so heiß und so lecker das ich mir den Mund fast verbrannt habe Die Kellner welche immer bemüht sind alle wünsche zu erfüllen haben auch dieses Mal wieder ihr bestes gegeben . Ich warte nur noch darauf, dass sich ueber das toilettenpapier beschwert wird, dass es zu dünn ist, dann tick ich aus

Old forester's house in the middle of the forest, but easy to reach from two directions. Very good cuisine, inexpensive lunch with a delicious salad buffet. Well attended, so reserve in advance. Child-friendly, beautiful covered outdoor terrace in summer, enough parking space available. Cuisine varied with seasonally changing dishes. Wednesdays are potato pancakes day. We've been eating there for years and have always been satisfied. Very well maintained outdoor area and always tastefully decorated inside.

Nice restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Coming by car on a Sunday afternoon when the weather is nice is annoying because of the narrow path and the many hikers/pedestrians and possibly oncoming traffic. In the fireplace room, large plexiglass panels hang between the tables, probably from the times of the pandemic. The food is down-to-earth, good and tasty, but not cheap. The presentation on the plate is rather old-fashioned and careless, like in a canteen. The staff attentive. Good salad buffet. The delicious food is served just a few minutes after ordering, and you haven't even drunk half of the aperitif - a shame (again, that cafeteria feeling). Since the restaurant is busy and we don't feel like rushing around, we probably won't go there again.

Great restaurant with great cuisine, the outside terrace is very nice, it's a bit like a holiday feeling.

On Sunday we were drinking coffee on the sun terrace with two small children and were served by a waiter. After one of the children answered the gentleman's question a little louder, the waiter verbally attacked the child. We have never experienced such aggressive and child-unfriendly behavior in a restaurant. He didn't thank us for our tip.

Wonderful surroundings on the outskirts of Aachen! In the middle of nature, relaxing and excellent dishes. A truly typical German cuisine. The 'Berner Art' schnitzel is highly recommended, as are the other schnitzels. Large terrace with beautiful views over the garden. In short, enjoyed it here!

Actually a very nice restaurant located in the forest from the terrace with a view of the countryside and also good food at normal prices. But all of that is of no use if you don't have decent service staff. It's not the first time this has happened to us here, but we can happily do without being served in such a snippy and unfriendly way again. We decided to do so after ordering the first drink in rounds and then moved to the Albatros in Merzbrück where we were welcomed and served very nicely and were able to celebrate our 80th birthday with delicious food and drinks. Oh yes, the bill was 450 euros, I think you give a 10% tip 😉. Maybe again for the 90th when there should be new service employees there

Absolut nicht zu empfehlen. Personal freundlich Essen gut. Aber der Betreiber ist dermaßen arrogant. Hab ich noch nie erlebt sowas.
