Wir haben sehr gut gegessen. Bekannte Gerichte etwas moderner gekocht, sehr lecker, sehr frisch. Es gab einen tollen Service. Die Mädels waren sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und schnell

De kaart is erg gevarieerd: soep, salades, vlees, vis en vegetarisch. Eerlijke Duitse gerechten. Wij waren met onze drie pubers en iedereen kon vrijwel moeiteloos iets vinden op de kaart. De bediening was vriendelijk en toeschietelijk. Wij hadden een Duitse rode wijn besteld, die uitverkocht bleek en de ober kwam direct met een Italiaans alternatief. Mijn tafelgenoten bestelden een dessert en ik een Grand Marnier. Dat bleek er niet te zijn en ik kreeg een dom likeur van het huis aangeboden.

Is a tourist trap really a tourist trap if it’s actually good? My son and I visited Aachen in July and had lunch here before our tour of the dom. It was a beautiful day so we ate outside. Two servers helped us; they were patient with our attempts at German and kind about accommodating a special request from my son. We enjoyed our food very much - I had a schnitzel, my son had pasta, and we shared dessert. I will happily return if we visit Aachen again.

Just dropped in by chance and was totally thrilled! Great wine list, very selected very good wines on the menu. The food was good, homely and very sufficient... we'll be back next time we're in Aachen.

A restaurant in a good location right next to the cathedral. I came for dinner without a reservation, but was able to sit down. The staff's customer service was very polite and friendly. Ordered beer and 3 dishes. The beer is cold and delicious! The meat dishes were very delicious. It was soft and the saltiness was perfect. Unfortunately, the pasta was overcooked and had a dull texture. However, the sauce was delicious and had a strong seafood broth. It would have been 100 points if the pasta was well-cooked! The amount of desserts is large! I was happy.

Es ist unglaublich dass einen Lokal dass um.23 Uhr schließt kann kein Kaffee um 22 Uhr mehr bedienen. Wenn Ente auf die Karte ist, der Kellner muss fragen wie es bereidt muss sein (rosé oder ..). Mein Essen war zu gekocht.

Wanted to have a drink inside, but unfortunately that was not allowed. Only as a restaurant. And it was virtually empty. It has 2 parts, you would say at certain times you can just have a drink.... but unfortunately... The building looks great from the outside. A bit sterile on the inside.

I visited this restaurant once and won’t be returning. Upon our arrival, my friend spoke to the waiter in German, but she immediately switched to English, giving us the impression that she wasn’t particularly welcoming, not just to us but perhaps to anyone. The atmosphere inside felt off, though that might come down to personal preference. We ordered the Viennese-style schnitzel, but for the price, it was disappointing. The schnitzel was dry, and we both suspected it had been frozen and simply reheated before serving. Overall, it didn’t meet expectations.

One of the most dissappointing schitzels I have ever eaten. It was precooked and not fresh. They just heated and served it. Extremely dry crust and meat tastes bland. When you pay 25€ for a schitzel you expect to eat at least something decent.

Great ambience in the outdoor area, surrounded by beautiful old buildings and the cathedral with good food.

The two of us had a Coke and we were shocked when we paid. €8.20 for 2 cokes.

We would have eaten something there too, the atmosphere seemed nice, but the service was inattentive, the table was sticky and not cleaned and coffee was served spilled.

It was very disappointing and I cannot agree with the positive reviews regarding the dishes. We had the saltimbocca and the pork schnitzel. The pepper and cream sauce wasn't fresh, the salad was already brown, the saltimbocca was cooked far too long and the Schupfnudeln were just barely cooked. This is much better! In every rest stop you can eat cheaper with the same quality.

Good morning. So what's the point of having the greatest building and a great location if the boss isn't capable of running this gem? Today the following happened: We sat down in the back outside area around half past four, were able to order two drinks after 10 minutes, and they came, so far so good. What I noticed was that there were two female and two male service staff running around... More on that later. After that, no one came for at least 45 minutes. During that time, 3 tables were occupied and then left again. Potential thirsty customers. We then wanted to pay and had to go inside. I confronted the remaining staff; she was now alone, responsible for two outdoor areas and one inside, two colleagues had called in sick and the boss had gone to his other restaurant. Dear managing director, this is how you ruin the most beautiful store. Or is that really just the service desert of Germany? I can't imagine it.

Delicious food, friendly service, drink prices a bit high

I can genuinely not think of any bad things about this place, i ordered a cola and a Rump-steak with mushroom sauce, the sauce contrasted the steak really well, the fries that were on the side were baked perfectly and served with little bits of bacon which gave the salty taste (great idea to use bacon instead of salt), also, the salad that they serve on the side was brought to taste really well with the sour red cabbage. The cola they serve is not just your regular Coca-Cola, it is Fritz Cola, it tastes a little like the gummy cola’s you often find with Haribo candy. I ate outside, the service was really nice and the people are kind, the food was served within 15 minutes, the mood is awesome, and it is not too loud here. I really recommend eating here at any time of the day!

So. We wanted something to drink and my wife wanted something sweet to end the day. The order has been taken. The drinks were served and the sweet was completely ignored. Just like other guests who were looking for a place were completely ignored. The service staff didn't know who did what and when. I've never experienced anything so haphazard. The prices are also quite high for non-service. If I ran a restaurant like that, these wait staff would have worked their last day there. Never again.

Nice place, lousy service. Supposedly only cash... after several PIN attempts it turned out that we could also pay with a debit card. Really scandalous, bad experience and way too expensive!

The place is certainly not without its flaws, however having lunch on the terrace overlooking the cathedral, eating very well, and spending a reasonable amount was what we were looking for and what we found. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We ordered drinks and the waiter was making fun of our accent. Then she came back and told us to leave after we had already ordered drinks because we didn’t order any food when she came back… Disrespectful, and overall not a great experience. We went to Isabella instead and had some nice coffee

Delicious food at reasonable prices in a nice atmosphere. We were here with four people and paid 180 euros for food (4 main courses, 3 starters) & drink (only beer and water).

It's going ok. Totally friendly service, main course very tasty - but drinks not available on the menu, not just one, several 🙄 Kaiserschmarren was more mushy instead of fluffy. Don't really know either. Expected more. Stacks of garbage bags on the house stink, must you have caught a bad moment? 🙄 I'm having a hard time with the rating

Great corner at Aachen Cathedral We've been wanting to eat there for a long time and took advantage of the opportunity last night. Unfortunately not for us. The food wasn't really great, the taste was more in the direction of “Maggi Fix cone” (onion roast sauce) - sorry! Cheese spaetzle unseasoned and bland! The food on the plate was well prepared, but the taste was poor. This can be done better!!! 3 stars anyway because of the ambience and the waiter who tried to deal with the chaos (two employees were absent at short notice) and because of the great location!

The terrace is very nice with a view of the cathedral and the typical German cuisine is excellent. I recommend the "Sauerbraten".

The food was very tasty and the service was very attentive and friendly. The sauerbraten and the boiled beef were highlights for us and the apple cream with horseradish was particularly tasty. The saffron spaghetti was very mild and the cheese spaetzle was tasty but less impressive. The prices were reasonable and the location right next to the cathedral was very nice.

Very tasty main courses, we had the Rumpsteak Rose Style and the Ravioli in sage butter sauce. Desserts were slightly less special, but nevertheless very tasty. We sat outside overlooking the cathedral. It was a shame that someone, probably the owner, was sitting on the terrace smoking his cigar during our meal.

Beautiful historical ambience with excellent cuisine and nice, attentive service. The menu is appealing and takes into account regional and international tastes. The prices are reasonable in the middle segment (roast pork with Monschau mustard sauce, potato rösti and crunchy market vegetables, vanilla ice cream with pumpkin seed oil and two large Bitburger Pils 38 euros). The portions are not overly generous but will satisfy even good eaters. A small downer is the unpleasant smell of sewage in the lower toilet area, but it seemed well maintained. A room scent diffuser would help. The drinks menu is also great and regionally varied with cross-border offers and small, very regional surprises (e.g. Yakamoz Raki from Eschweiler)

Given the location, it could be a tourist trap, but the food was actually excellent. And on the sunny terrace it was pleasant to watch passersby.

We wanted to go out for Italian food and got lost in the 🌹. Luckily: the rustic, beautiful ambience immediately invited us to linger. The food was great. The friendly staff recommended good wines to accompany the courses and the small talk was also interesting and exciting. A successful evening at the Rose am Dom.

Favorites are lukewarm salad with cauliflower or veal biscuits on leaf spinach with quail egg garnish and much more.

You can enjoy delicious food there. From schnitzel to black pudding. Not too expensive. Too bad there is no children's menu available.

Nice service and extremely delicious food. The potato soup with black pudding and the flambéed goat cheese were a great start. The quality of the food is excellent considering the price. The main courses (liver and spaghetti putanesca) were also very tasty. We'd love to come back.

The service was very good for the first hour, but things changed at 9 p.m. People no longer looked at the tables, so I couldn't let them know that we wanted another dessert. After fifteen minutes I finally got attention and they brought the bill. When I let them know that we wanted to see the menu, we were told that we only had 5 minutes left. The man clearly wanted to close and was only acting friendly. When leaving the restaurant, a "Bye" was just enough, instead of "I hope you enjoyed your stay and have a nice evening". Too bad, it started out so nice.

Had the onion roast with roasted onions. Unfortunately the meat was quite tough. Only slightly pink in the middle. The meat was also unnaturally hot. The canned fried onions and the tasteless lumpy sauce matched the meal. Was very disappointed and hope for an improvement in quality for future guests!

We were a group of 4 people and our medium sized dog. The gave us without a hesitation a table inside the restaurant. The atmosphere the food and the service was Excellent. The prices are as expected right next to the Dom and within the normal range of prices in Germany in general. We gave €30 per person with drinks. We were very thankful that the let us with our dog.

After three and four visits, the restaurant was generally unconvincing or unconvincing and, in my opinion, generally rated far too positively. Food that is not warm enough (and too quickly...) served on cold plates, which means lovelessness and 'shoo-shoo' in everything, e.g. B. Fried potato side dish cut completely unevenly (the eye eats too!) and modest in quantity, ready-made sauce for boiled beef, Ayurveda pan without any carbohydrates. Atmosphere: inappropriate and too loud music, which seems to be played more for the staff than for the guests. A beautifully designed menu isn't enough...

We went to dinner with friends at the Rose today. The operation and service are excellent. Food was very tasty 😋 we would love to come back.

It's very nice to sit there. Unfortunately the food wasn't good today. The cola was warm and stale. There was hot as hell horseradish in the salad dressing. Doesn't belong there. This is how I know heaven and earth: applesauce and mashed potatoes mixed together with crispy bratwurst. Here mashed potatoes with raw apple wedges on top. The black pudding was soft and mushy. This isn't a Rhenish heaven and earth. Sorry. We won't go there again.

Nice atmosphere. Also suitable for groups, very good. Service OK. The menu is very attractive and varied. The meals served, however, were a bit sobering. Not bad, but overall not a revelation, even considering the rather high price. All in all okay.

I ordered “schnitzel von Kalb “ Mir pommes, Although I was the first person to be served at 12pm , the fries came in dark yellow which means that oil is old . The waitress was amazing and accommodating. They have outdoor area which would be nice when the weather is warmer.

We had an excellent meal here, Aachener Sauerbraten, Tafelspitz and the best creme brulee for dessert. Really highly recommended!

I had the pleasure of dining at Gasthaus Rose am Dom in Aachen, a historic building that has existed since the 14th century. We enjoyed a typical German dinner there and were completely satisfied. The ambience of the inn is charming and inviting, and the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The food was definitely worth the money. The dishes were deliciously prepared and reflected traditional German cuisine. From hearty meat dishes to delicious side dishes and homemade desserts, the menu offered a diverse selection. Next time I visit Aachen I will definitely dine at the Gasthaus Rose am Dom again. It was a wonderful culinary experience that I would like to repeat. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic German cuisine in a historic setting.

We stopped for a beer and when we were hungry for something delicious, we ordered an appetizer...it was a feast for the eyes and the taste was so delicious that you had to enjoy it!!!! PRAISES TO THE KITCHEN, THE PLEASURE WAS EXTREMELY TASTY!!!

A culinary gem in Aachen. Every bite is a pleasure and makes you want more German cuisine! Service was present but not intrusive. Ambience typically German, but in a nice way. If you are in Aachen, you should plan either lunch or dinner here.

Our second time here as we like the location and atmosphere and the friendly service. The starter val Brie was outstanding! Soooo yummy! Though against this the Sauerbraten was just average.

Just had lunch there with my parents. My mum is strongly allergic to gluten and we were told the beef with spinach was gluten free. My mum is now throwing up super bad and we have to drive for the next 3 hours: unbelievable. In front of the most turistic place of Aachen you are not even able to clarify how your food is cooked. Embarrassing. I explicitly told you that if there was the risk to have some contamination with gluten, do not risk! You are not serious at all.

Excellent pork schnitzel, apfelstrudel also very very good - plentiful, fast service, quiet and comfortable, great!

In dieser Email wird mir eine Abmahnung und zivilrechtliche Schritte angedroht. Anstatt Geld für den Anwalt auszugeben, sollte man sich der Kritik annehmen und eine Lösung suchen. Hätten Sie auf meine Bewertung geantwortet und das Gespräch gesucht, hätte ich die Bewertung auch mit Sicherheit gelöscht. So bleibt die Rezession wenigstens für die nächsten 7 Tage bestehen bevor diese von Google gelöscht wird, da ich schlicht keine Lust habe mich damit auseinander zu setzen. Die Rinderroulade war sehr winzig. Auch die Menge der Beilage war ein Witz. Bratkartoffeln waren viel zu dünn, hatten eher was von Kartoffelchips. Speisen waren eher lauwarm. Service machte einen gestressten Eindruck und war nicht kritikfähig. (Es hätte sich sonst noch niemand über die Speisen beschwert).

Super tasty food, very attractively presented. Rustic furnishings, but the toilets weren't that great. Unfortunately there weren't enough staff for Saturday lunchtime, but we'll still be back because the food was really fantastic.

There was no atmosphere, there were 2 tables occupied and nothing reserved, yet I was referred to the first floor if I wanted to eat at a normal table. Unfortunately, they also serve an unknown brand of coke,

Wir waren im zweiten Weihnachtstag hier essen .Das Essen war top mein Sohn hatte ein Rumpsteak das war auf den Punkt medium gebraten das Salatdressing super lecker und die Bratkartoffeln richtig schön knusprig und nicht fettig ich hatte einen Zwiebelrostbraten der genauso super gebraten war und meine Mutter hatte ein Schnitzel vom Jungschwein sehr zart und groß Portionen lohnen sich . Der Service war super nett. Das Haus ist schon älter klein von innen aber sehr gemütlich über zwei Etagen aber alles top gepflegt . Es hat auf jeden Fall richtig Charme. Da waren wir auf jeden Fall nicht das letzte Mal

Wir saßen hier gemütlich, in schöner Atmosphäre, zusammen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Brühe meiner Leberknödelsuppe war hervorragend, der Knödel dagegen hat mir weniger gut geschmeckt. Aber das liegt an meinem persönlichen Geschmack. Die Linguine Mare waren ein Gaumenschmaus. Ich hab selten so leckere Teigwaren mit Meeresfrüchten gegessen. Und die Portion war riesig. Obwohl ich viel essen kann, hab ich das fast nicht geschafft. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Die Schnitzel waren lecker ,das Saltimbocca etwas zäh aber die Beilagen waren top .

Das Beste an diesem Lokal ist das historische Gebäude! Wir haben selten so schlecht gegessen, alles aus der Friteuse oder aufgewärmt. Wir haben 20 Mintuen auf die Kellnerin gewartet dann kam das Essen und die Getränke 5 Minuten nach der Bestellung!

Spitzen Essen. Alles von hoher Qualität und sehr schön angerichtet. Das hätte auch sechs Sterne verdient. Das Ambiente im Teil zum Fischmarkt und die Toiletten entsprechen nicht der Qualität der Speisen. Die Bedienung ist dafür um so netter und voll auf Zack. Großes Lob!

Food was fresh and portions were quite generous! The soups are super delicious! The waitress taking care of our table was helpful and positive! However, when we went to pay the rest of the staff was so nervous, shouting at us in German (very rude, no clue what, even if it was clear we did not understand), a bit of a chaos, not friendly at all. Considering it is in a top touristic place, the staff speaking only German is not client oriented at all, no basic English, French, Dutch. We translated with google, no problem but still.
