Very friendly waiters, really great people!

Beautiful terrace near the cathedral. I didn't eat, just had a drink, because they serve Leffe Bruin on tap. But my good mood was wiped out when I tried to pay by card. Card payments only accepted for amounts over 15 euros. These days, that's a no-go. The owners want to save on fees and continue to line their pockets, even though the place has been flooded with tourists. No one can tell me that the owners aren't making enough money.

Top notch! Great food, friendly service, dog-friendly. Sitting upstairs is a bit warm, but that's okay. Fresh beer, great schnitzel, large portions, great appetizers and desserts. Real German food with quality!

A beautifully located restaurant in Aachen's old town. A terrace with a courtyard feel. True to its name. We received attentive service. The dishes we ordered were excellent. Unfortunately, we had to skip dessert because the train was running. A real shame. We'll definitely make up for it. Thank you very much.

We had dinner here this evening and were very satisfied overall. We received a friendly welcome and luckily got a table outside even without a reservation. We were on the side near the cathedral, and the seating there is really nice. The service was attentive and very friendly throughout the evening. The drinks arrived promptly, and our request for a colder beer was responded to promptly and professionally. The food was excellent. From the onion soup to the ravioli to the boiled beef, everything tasted really good. It was presented on beautiful plates, and the knives were actually sharp. We can only praise everything. Thank you for a great meal and a pleasant evening. We'll be back.

Well-balanced dish between meat and side dish. The meat was excellent, cooked perfectly medium/rare. Friendly staff and precise service, especially for drinks. The wait for the dishes was a bit long, but I was in good company, so it didn't matter. Positive experience, I will definitely be back.

A portion of fries for 9 euros. This was the result of a "special order." Fries aren't on the menu, but they made them for my daughter anyway. That was nice, but the price was not worth it: 9 euros!

Tasty surprise in the heart of Aachen During a day in Aachen we ended up here – and it turned out to be a bull’s eye. Familiar dishes, but surprisingly executed. The onion soup with fennel was deliciously full of flavour, the beef carpaccio got a fresh twist with artichoke, figs and mango dressing, and the salad with serrano ham, pesto and mozzarella was delicious – the tomatoes in particular stood out because of their flavour. The local Weissburgunder was a fine, fresh white wine that went well with the summer weather. What was also noticeable: a quietly situated terrace at the back and a livelier terrace at the front, so you can choose what you like. It is also pleasant to sit inside, with a warm atmosphere. And not unimportant: clean, spacious toilets – always a plus. The service was friendly and relaxed. A place where attention is clearly paid to both the food and the experience. Recommended if you are in the centre of Aachen and fancy good food in a pleasant environment.

The food was really good, you can notice the quality ; unfortunately for this kind of restaurant I expected a better service . The view and place is really comfortable and nice with the Dom.

25 minutes to get beer and a Cappuccino on an empty terrasse on a rainy Thursday ... Just to learn at the last minute that you can't even pay with card (not mentionned before) 😅 I guess the beer was good tho

The three of us sat at a table in the outdoor lighting, where there was no reserved sign. The waiter came and asked if we had a reservation, which I said no. We were then asked to vacate the table for five. We could sit there when a single woman was ready. I explained that I had been driving for 10 hours (and still had 270 km to go) and wasn't going to wait for someone to vacate a table. We weren't served afterward. I can't comment on how the experience would have been. However, the restrooms, both men's and women's, are not a reason to visit this restaurant.

We were meeting up with friends and luckily had reservations. It wasn't too loud, though, and we had a good conversation. The food was delicious. Everyone in our group was satisfied.

Excellent service and we loved the traditional style, it has that breath of the past. Fresh flowers at the table too. Most of the places where we've been in Germany and Netherlands had plastic. So, nice effort. The food was really delicious. I had an excellent roast beef, and others the Viener Schnitzels that they really liked. Certainly a recommendation.

Our company outing went to Aachen. The table was reserved in the Rose at the Cathedral. An excellent decision. We received a very friendly welcome and the food was simply delicious and plentiful. Very happy again.

Service was friendly, but everything took an extremely long time, even though not all the tables outside were occupied and everything inside was empty. I had to go in to pay because no one came to the table (even if they tried to make themselves noticed). A glass of water was more expensive than a coffee (!). When paying, the boss was a bit overwhelmed with calculating the change. It's better to go next door to drink coffee.

Very nice restaurant right next to Aachen Cathedral. The atmosphere is cozy. The food was fantastic. Price/performance definitely fits. The service was very friendly.

This restaurant alone would be a reason to go to Aachen. Varied menu, delicious preparation, beautiful, well-kept atmosphere, top location, fair prices and incredibly nice, friendly and courteous service. The visit was a pure pleasure!

Typical German cuisine restaurant. Very good dishes and generous portions. Excellent beer. Espresso coffee similar to the Italian one. Courteous staff.

Unfortunately, the sauerbraten was far too dry and the dumplings were only lukewarm. The liver dumpling soup for €9.90 is far too expensive for just a dumpling with a bit of broth. The soap in the toilet was already empty upon arrival and was not refilled during the visit. Overall, the visit there was rather disappointing.

Unfortunately, the reservation went a bit bumpy because the day was entered incorrectly. However, in the end we still managed to visit on the day we wanted. I had a salad first and the beef fillet as the main course. What I remember positively is the delicious vegetables and meat. Although I wanted my steak medium, it was very close to done. Nevertheless, the meat was very tender and good. Unfortunately, the potato gratin tasted too strongly of cumin and didn't go well with the meal. The salad beforehand was okay, but the mustard dressing was too spicy for me personally. Unfortunately, the meat quality of my companions wasn't that good and was quite dry (duck breast and sauerbraten) After we were asked whether the food was tasty, we passed on the criticism or constructive criticism, which unfortunately wasn't really noticed. Overall, I would only rate the restaurant three out of five stars because we waited a long time for the food, it really wasn't great in terms of taste and the price is absolutely not justified!

Unfortunately I couldn't enjoy my duck breast with potato gratin and red cabbage. The duck and the gratin were too dry, the red cabbage looked like it came from a can. For the price, I expected a dish that exceeded that of a run-of-the-mill restaurant. Unfortunately I was disappointed. When criticism was expressed to the waiter, he fled the table without comment. After the bone-dry experience, I was full but not satisfied. That's why there are 3 stars for this.

I recently visited the Rose am Dom restaurant and was absolutely thrilled! The food was simply outstanding - every dish was a highlight in terms of taste, beautifully presented and made with high-quality ingredients. The house specialties, which are both creative and authentic, are particularly recommended. A big compliment also goes to the waiter HAKKI, who made the evening even nicer. He was not only super nice and accommodating, but also extremely competent and attentive. With his warm manner he made us feel really welcome and was always helpful with questions about the map. The restaurant's ambience is stylish and cozy - a perfect place to spend a special evening. I will definitely come back and can warmly recommend the “Rose am Dom”!

Best Wiener Schnitzel & Creme Brulee ever!!

Restaurant with a great atmosphere. We were a very large group for supper and the waiting time was long, we got the cream soup an hour and a half after ordering. The main meal was almost immediately after eating the cream soup, it's okay. Service in English at a very good level. The chestnut cream was delicious, it was the first time I ate something like this and I was positively surprised. Main course - steak. The service did not ask us about the level of doneness of the meat. Despite this, it was delicious. Huge portion! Dessert average, did not suit me. Overall, I rate the stay very good and give a strong 4!

I'm thrilled! We were there spontaneously today with our little son (3.5 years old) (not always 100% suitable for a restaurant) and were treated very courteously. The food absolutely convinced me and everyone else at the table; it is a successful mix of fine cuisine and home cooking. The only criticism is that one dish came a little later, but the overall impression is positive. We'd love to come back!

Always ask for the detailed bill!! We asked for the bill, the waitress told us the total anount, we paid.. it all happened very quickly.. then we insisted receiving the bill… we got it, they overcharged us 18 euros hoping that we wouldn’t ask for the details.. we were immediately reimbursed and the waitress gave us a lame excuse.. the food was okay.. we did not feel welcome.. we felt this place was dishonest , so tourists beware!!

Highly pretentious place. If the setting is charming, the service is deplorable and above all the food is very disappointing. The menu, presentation and prices give the impression of a high quality place but the reality is bland cuisine in small quantities without much interest.

Customers who are satisfied with the food at an average all inclusive hotel in Alanya will appreciate the level offered here. The food served truly indicates uninspired and uncommitted kitchen staff. One thing that might be less important, but perhaps still worth mentioning is that the female waiter tried to be nice while her male colleague's self-image was not anywhere near in sync with reality. If you feel it's so important to signal disapproval of certain customers or customer types, perhaps you shouldn't work in a service profession. But in the end it's all about what comes out on the plate. This place serves truly mediocre food, it's as simple as that. Poor food equals poor review.

Wir haben sehr gut gegessen. Bekannte Gerichte etwas moderner gekocht, sehr lecker, sehr frisch. Es gab einen tollen Service. Die Mädels waren sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und schnell

De kaart is erg gevarieerd: soep, salades, vlees, vis en vegetarisch. Eerlijke Duitse gerechten. Wij waren met onze drie pubers en iedereen kon vrijwel moeiteloos iets vinden op de kaart. De bediening was vriendelijk en toeschietelijk. Wij hadden een Duitse rode wijn besteld, die uitverkocht bleek en de ober kwam direct met een Italiaans alternatief. Mijn tafelgenoten bestelden een dessert en ik een Grand Marnier. Dat bleek er niet te zijn en ik kreeg een dom likeur van het huis aangeboden.

Is a tourist trap really a tourist trap if it’s actually good? My son and I visited Aachen in July and had lunch here before our tour of the dom. It was a beautiful day so we ate outside. Two servers helped us; they were patient with our attempts at German and kind about accommodating a special request from my son. We enjoyed our food very much - I had a schnitzel, my son had pasta, and we shared dessert. I will happily return if we visit Aachen again.

Just dropped in by chance and was totally thrilled! Great wine list, very selected very good wines on the menu. The food was good, homely and very sufficient... we'll be back next time we're in Aachen.

A restaurant in a good location right next to the cathedral. I came for dinner without a reservation, but was able to sit down. The staff's customer service was very polite and friendly. Ordered beer and 3 dishes. The beer is cold and delicious! The meat dishes were very delicious. It was soft and the saltiness was perfect. Unfortunately, the pasta was overcooked and had a dull texture. However, the sauce was delicious and had a strong seafood broth. It would have been 100 points if the pasta was well-cooked! The amount of desserts is large! I was happy.

Es ist unglaublich dass einen Lokal dass um.23 Uhr schließt kann kein Kaffee um 22 Uhr mehr bedienen. Wenn Ente auf die Karte ist, der Kellner muss fragen wie es bereidt muss sein (rosé oder ..). Mein Essen war zu gekocht.

Wanted to have a drink inside, but unfortunately that was not allowed. Only as a restaurant. And it was virtually empty. It has 2 parts, you would say at certain times you can just have a drink.... but unfortunately... The building looks great from the outside. A bit sterile on the inside.

I visited this restaurant once and won’t be returning. Upon our arrival, my friend spoke to the waiter in German, but she immediately switched to English, giving us the impression that she wasn’t particularly welcoming, not just to us but perhaps to anyone. The atmosphere inside felt off, though that might come down to personal preference. We ordered the Viennese-style schnitzel, but for the price, it was disappointing. The schnitzel was dry, and we both suspected it had been frozen and simply reheated before serving. Overall, it didn’t meet expectations.

One of the most dissappointing schitzels I have ever eaten. It was precooked and not fresh. They just heated and served it. Extremely dry crust and meat tastes bland. When you pay 25€ for a schitzel you expect to eat at least something decent.

The two of us had a Coke and we were shocked when we paid. €8.20 for 2 cokes.

It was very disappointing and I cannot agree with the positive reviews regarding the dishes. We had the saltimbocca and the pork schnitzel. The pepper and cream sauce wasn't fresh, the salad was already brown, the saltimbocca was cooked far too long and the Schupfnudeln were just barely cooked. This is much better! In every rest stop you can eat cheaper with the same quality.

Good morning. So what's the point of having the greatest building and a great location if the boss isn't capable of running this gem? Today the following happened: We sat down in the back outside area around half past four, were able to order two drinks after 10 minutes, and they came, so far so good. What I noticed was that there were two female and two male service staff running around... More on that later. After that, no one came for at least 45 minutes. During that time, 3 tables were occupied and then left again. Potential thirsty customers. We then wanted to pay and had to go inside. I confronted the remaining staff; she was now alone, responsible for two outdoor areas and one inside, two colleagues had called in sick and the boss had gone to his other restaurant. Dear managing director, this is how you ruin the most beautiful store. Or is that really just the service desert of Germany? I can't imagine it.

Delicious food, friendly service, drink prices a bit high

I can genuinely not think of any bad things about this place, i ordered a cola and a Rump-steak with mushroom sauce, the sauce contrasted the steak really well, the fries that were on the side were baked perfectly and served with little bits of bacon which gave the salty taste (great idea to use bacon instead of salt), also, the salad that they serve on the side was brought to taste really well with the sour red cabbage. The cola they serve is not just your regular Coca-Cola, it is Fritz Cola, it tastes a little like the gummy cola’s you often find with Haribo candy. I ate outside, the service was really nice and the people are kind, the food was served within 15 minutes, the mood is awesome, and it is not too loud here. I really recommend eating here at any time of the day!

So. We wanted something to drink and my wife wanted something sweet to end the day. The order has been taken. The drinks were served and the sweet was completely ignored. Just like other guests who were looking for a place were completely ignored. The service staff didn't know who did what and when. I've never experienced anything so haphazard. The prices are also quite high for non-service. If I ran a restaurant like that, these wait staff would have worked their last day there. Never again.

Nice place, lousy service. Supposedly only cash... after several PIN attempts it turned out that we could also pay with a debit card. Really scandalous, bad experience and way too expensive!

The place is certainly not without its flaws, however having lunch on the terrace overlooking the cathedral, eating very well, and spending a reasonable amount was what we were looking for and what we found. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We ordered drinks and the waiter was making fun of our accent. Then she came back and told us to leave after we had already ordered drinks because we didn’t order any food when she came back… Disrespectful, and overall not a great experience. We went to Isabella instead and had some nice coffee

Delicious food at reasonable prices in a nice atmosphere. We were here with four people and paid 180 euros for food (4 main courses, 3 starters) & drink (only beer and water).

It's going ok. Totally friendly service, main course very tasty - but drinks not available on the menu, not just one, several 🙄 Kaiserschmarren was more mushy instead of fluffy. Don't really know either. Expected more. Stacks of garbage bags on the house stink, must you have caught a bad moment? 🙄 I'm having a hard time with the rating

Great corner at Aachen Cathedral We've been wanting to eat there for a long time and took advantage of the opportunity last night. Unfortunately not for us. The food wasn't really great, the taste was more in the direction of “Maggi Fix cone” (onion roast sauce) - sorry! Cheese spaetzle unseasoned and bland! The food on the plate was well prepared, but the taste was poor. This can be done better!!! 3 stars anyway because of the ambience and the waiter who tried to deal with the chaos (two employees were absent at short notice) and because of the great location!
