Immer gerne wieder :)
I've never had such bad food. It arrived lukewarm. My drink was forgotten, and the owner was very pushy. It was very loud, and despite having a reservation, we still had to stand in the counter for several minutes. The worst part was that I was expected to carry a table myself with the owner – that's not my job. I'm a guest! We ended up changing tables because the first one was right in the entrance. The new table was dirty, uncleaned, with old glasses on it. It couldn't be worse. Never again. The food had no taste or quality, and the meat was full of gristle.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
But again, the owner is a complete disaster – pushy and unfriendly.
We were in Franconia again yesterday, and of course, at the Glockenkeller in Forchheim. And once again, it was perfect. Friendly, quick service, great food, and a lovely atmosphere under the open sky!
We had two Schäuferla (a kind of pork stew) with dumplings and sauerkraut. Very large and perfectly cooked for a reasonable €16, and a half-liter of beer for an incredible €3.60.
All in all, it couldn't be better or cheaper!
The steakhouse is always a good choice. The beer garden is lovely, and the food is consistently good. Prices are on the higher side, but the portions are large and of excellent quality. I'd gladly come back anytime.
I was there again today. The service was super friendly and very attentive.
The food was delicious, as always. Photos to follow.
It's especially cozy in front of the fireplace in winter. 👌👍
Unfortunately, I have to deduct two stars because they no longer accept card payments and require a reservation for entry. That's a real shame.
We've always been very satisfied before. 🤔🤔
Card payments are now accepted by the new owner!
New owner at the steakhouse
Here's my review after a visit:
The food and menu are just as good as under the previous owner.
The new staff is very attentive and super friendly.
I'm deducting one star for the beer garden's ambiance.
Unfortunately, weeds are growing like crazy. I recommend using Skill grout cleaner. That's really the only downside.
Otherwise, it's great as always.
I'd gladly come back anytime.
Card payments are now accepted by the new owner! The new owners have revamped the menu and significantly increased the prices.
€7.40 for a side salad is outrageous. According to AI, it should cost no more than €5.
Unfortunately, the terrace is being renovated by the German Armed Forces in the middle of the season.
Therefore, two stars deducted.
The service is, as always, attentive and friendly.
It's a real shame that the value for money is no longer there.
It's also a pity that the complimentary welcome from the house has been discontinued by the new owners.
A nice, cozy hotel, quiet yet centrally located. The breakfast buffet wasn't particularly extensive, but appealing. An espresso machine would be a welcome addition!
The food was very tasty and nicely presented, but the sight of the half-naked, not very attractive bathers eating might take some getting used to for non-thermal bathers 😉
First off: There's no parking directly in front of the restaurant, but the large West parking lot is about 100 meters away; the restrooms are on the first floor of the restaurant.
We spontaneously decided to visit on Saturday after a shopping trip in Erlangen and were lucky enough to get a table for two. (Reservations are highly recommended, at least for the weekend!). The staff were all in excellent spirits, extremely friendly, and very attentive to the guests' needs. The beer was delicious, and my Schäuble (pork shoulder) was perfect to my taste. My wife had pork loin, which was also highly praised. The kitchen knows what it's doing! The restaurant's interior design is also very much to our liking.
We recommend a visit, and as mentioned, reservations are a must!
Unfortunately, we were not satisfied with our visit.
The portions were very small. Furthermore, the menus shown to us before ordering didn't include prices.
We were served a large bowl of rice without being informed that it would be charged extra per person. (This is not standard practice in a typical Chinese restaurant in Munich.)
When paying, we discovered that rice was also charged for children – €2 per portion.
We found this lack of transparency regarding the prices very unpleasant.
The fried noodles with chicken were delicious. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned, and the noodles had the perfect consistency – neither too soft nor too dry. Together with the fresh vegetables, it created a harmonious, hearty dish that was both satisfying and incredibly tasty.
