I was on the way to a customer in Munich and was looking for a place to stay overnight at short notice. I like to search for hotels on Google Maps and I also like to rely on reviews. So while searching I came across the Almwirt. The contact when I made the inquiry by phone was very nice and I rented a room in the hotel. Parking in the underground car park without any problems. There is also this lifting platform where the car is lifted to the second level. Luckily I had a normal parking space. Check in without any problems. The atmosphere really appealed to me when I checked in. There is an elevator to reach the floors. Room impression was very good. Large, spacious and everything was clean. Then down to the restaurant. Got a seat at the counter. I was totally amazed by the rustic atmosphere. I immediately felt comfortable here. Very nice and courteous staff. We immediately started talking. You feel really comfortable here. I will definitely come here again on my next visit to Munich.

Today we went to the Almwirt for white sausage. It was a really nice Christmas breakfast with two friends. The restaurant was busy, but the service was on point. Beautiful inn at the gates of Munich

The room is OK. Only in the bathroom was the cleanliness not too good. Some of the previous hair was still visible. But they weren't there the next day. The bathroom is in need of renovation: the fan doesn't work. Water sprays out of the shower fitting pipes in all directions and the plaster is crumbling from the wall. The mattress on the bed was good. Eating in the restaurant: unfortunately the duck was far too dry. You can hear the busy street very loudly in the room and there is no free parking. Overall too overpriced.

The hotel is very conveniently located near the motorway and offers beautifully furnished rooms. However, the hotel is located on a relatively busy street, so it is relatively loud in the rooms facing the street and it only becomes quieter late in the evening. Sleeping with the window open is only possible until around 5:30...6:00 a.m. But due to the location and, above all, the very friendly staff and the really comfortably furnished restaurant in combination with the extremely delicious Bavarian "classics", it has almost become a regular hotel on the outskirts of Munich over the years. Room prices are not cheap but not exorbitant either - that's why I give it a clear recommendation! During trade fair times, early room reservations are a must and reservations are also essential in the restaurant, which is always very busy, especially for larger groups! P.S. The Kaiserschmarrn is a highlight!!!

Even if the hotel doesn't look great from the outside, the interior is surprising. The restaurant is rustic and the rooms look very cozy thanks to the real wood. The food is typically Bavarian, tasty and plentiful. I also couldn't fault the breakfast buffet. The service in the evening and in the morning was extremely friendly. I can only recommend this hotel and will definitely come back when I am in the area

We came specifically for the delicious Kaiserschmarrn, which we have enjoyed twice before. Although there was still more than enough time before the kitchen closed, we were rudely and rudely refused to order the Kaiserschmarrn. We were told that we could still order everything else on the menu – just not the Kaiserschmarrn. When we explained that we had come specifically for the Kaiserschmarrn, the waiter neither cared nor paid any attention to us, but simply turned around and went to another table - without any friendliness. Especially as a restaurant in a hotel, I expect a much higher level of hospitality. We no longer felt comfortable and therefore didn't want to order anything else. It's really a shame that guests are treated like this. Under no circumstances should you as a guest be treated so unfriendly. I don't know if we will ever come back as this experience was really disappointing. UPDATE: Mr. Bartl's response unfortunately confirms exactly the unfriendly behavior we experienced during our visit. The claim that we ordered at 8:50 p.m. and was kindly told that a Kaiserschmarrn takes 20 minutes is not true. It's unfortunate that the owner reacts like this and doesn't even bother to really understand the criticism. Instead, we are indirectly accused of disrespect. We expressly praised the Kaiserschmarrn, but the friendliness should definitely be worked on. This type of response only reinforced our disappointment. We definitely won't be coming back after this experience.

Very nice hotel. Rooms are furnished in a country house style, very attractive. The bathroom has a floor-to-ceiling rain shower. Bathroom also in country house style. We felt very comfortable. Had an overnight stay to attend the Adele concert. Breakfast was also very tasty. Please note that our room did not have air conditioning. However, it was also north facing and therefore tolerable. Service staff is very friendly. Would come back at any time.

A nice Bavarian inn with regional food. It's a shame that the beer garden is right in front of the house on Wasserburger Landstrasse. But you can hide it quite well. And the service is top. I can't rate the hotel because I didn't stay overnight.

The restaurant looks like a typical alpine hut, made entirely of wood, with many, sometimes bizarre, accessories. Well done! The regular menu is expanded by the day menu. Most of the dishes are Bavarian specialties. The portions are large. Everything is very tasty. Table reservation is better.

Unfortunately, when the weather is nice, you are pushed away on the phone or when someone answers the phone, you are so annoyed that they tell you what you want and no, there are no more free seats...! I come from the service myself 😉 and yes it's stressful, but then I just answer the phone and say in a friendly way: I'm sorry, please wait a moment, I'll call you back straight away because it's full at the moment. Or: Unfortunately we don't have any free places left, I'm sorry, I'd be happy to do it next time. So there are 7 fewer guests who want to come, even if there is less going on. A pity!

Great hotel and inn! Highly recommended! The rooms are a dream, you immediately feel at home. Very clean! Beautiful and tasteful decor. The breakfast service was also great, large selection and people always asked and made up for it. Super Service! The inn makes very tasty food, so we ate there every evening, highly recommended! And the location is also great, easy to reach, good parking. From here you can quickly get to Munich, even by car. All in all, highly recommended, we would book here again at any time!

This review refers to the restaurant. We weren't in the hotel. The stay in the restaurant this afternoon was sensational. Super good food, extremely attentive service and a lovely senior manager who entertained us as guests. We felt like we were staying with acquaintances, our every wish was fulfilled. It couldn't be better, the alpine-style ambience is sensational anyway. We can only recommend it, we were there with 2 children aged 4 and 8.

Wir suchten nach einer Besprechung gestern Mittag ein Restaurant. Kurz bei Tripadvisor nachgeschaut. Wir hatten den Mittagstisch - Paprikaschnitzel. Nach etwas Rätseln kamen wir dahinter, dass damit das ehemalige Zig-Schnitzel gemeint war. Soße prima, Fleischqualität ok, Pommes ok. Supernetter Kellner. Alles bestens.

This review only applies to the restaurant! We were at the Almwirt for the first time yesterday and had a pleasant evening. The atmosphere was very nice and we really liked the decor. We like this “alpine style”. Our food came quite quickly. There was a pancake soup, the Münchner Schnitzel, the Bergsteigerpfandl and finally a small Kaiserschmarrn. Our main courses were great 👍. Large portions and very good taste. The pancake soup could have had a little more flavor. We had to add some seasoning. The Kaiserschmarrn was also good in taste, but in my opinion a little different than a typical Kaiserschmarrn. It was very thin and the dough was firmer than others - almost like a cake 🙈. We were missing something “fluffy”. Last but not least, there was live music in the evening, which rounded off the typical Bavarian evening 😉
