Traditional, rustic inn without frills. Cozy and friendly. The best roast pork in a long time. Highly recommended.

The food was good, the service had a sense of humor and it took a little long, but there was also a lot of demand. It was very busy at this point of my visit. The bowling alley is really fun and can accommodate quite a few people.

Brought my parents who came to visit and I wanted them to get the full German experience. They absolutely loved the place. The Bratkartoffeln were delicious, like everything we ate, but the star of the night was the Kaiserschmarrn...one of the best I've ever eaten and an insanely huge portion that we split between 3 people. Service is nice and fast. Loved it!

Excellent food and super service! Neno was very busy the night we came in, but so friendly and helpful. We ordered the Munich schnitzel and the Oktoberfest special roast chicken and both were awesome. Good prices too!

We ordered cheese spaetzle and Obazda with pretzels. The cheese spaetzle was okay, but we were not at all happy with the Obazda and the pretzel. The pretzel was hard and dry, and when I brought this up I was just told that it was “just like that” because it was taken out earlier. No new pretzel was offered, which is what I would have expected with such a complaint. For the price of €9.90 I would have expected much more, both in terms of the quality of the food and the service. Unfortunately, the incident negatively affected the entire experience.

Absolutely thrilled with the Wirtshaus Maxvorstadt! The service was exceptionally attentive and looked after us completely. The food was excellent - traditional dishes at a high standard, large portions and everything cooked to perfection. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back. Nice, surprisingly affordable, rustic restaurant with new aspects to Bavarian specialties. I ate the white sausage burger with fries, my husband had the snack plate, which had white bread and hummus, which he wasn't used to, but everything was delicious. Many people in Munich don't just eat as tourists like us, and the deeds are friendly, not like the Berliners where we live. I liked it. .hugs and everything jutti.

We were here spontaneously on a Friday evening and found a relaxed place. We had the Müncherschnitzel and the Wienerschnitzel and both were delicious! The prices were absolutely fair and the service was great. If you're looking for a good Bavarian pub, you definitely can't go wrong here!

Food was good but the waiter ultimately ruined the evening. (The gentleman with the bald head) When we collected the tip, a 5 euro tip was probably not enough. The attitude that followed was scary. As good as the food was, I would never come back.

All-round successful EM stay: Waiter Felix very friendly showed us to our seats and recommended the house specialties to us without being asked. The drinks always arrived at our table very reliably and quickly - despite the increased number of guests in the restaurant. Felix always had an overview and was up for a joke or two. The EM broadcast from Germany to Switzerland also went smoothly. Thank you inn, thank you Felix. We will be back :-) PS: The food was of course worthy of a future European champion ;-)

A cozy inn with very good local cuisine. The service is very attentive and friendly, and the dishes and ingredients are explained knowledgeably. The price level is good and cheap for Munich standards. Overall it was a successful evening.

Bavarian inn, as you might imagine it. Friendly service, nice ambience, good music and very fine food. Ox cheeks, roast pork and something from the daily menu have already been tried and found to be good. The menu will be updated soon!

Mega cozy pub and absolutely great staff! Stopped by by chance because the hustle and bustle in the city center was too much for us... just a quick beer turned into several rounds and something to eat with really good conversation with the staff. Will definitely go again next time I visit Munich

We stumbled into the inn by chance. During our stay in Munich. We were totally thrilled! Super nice and funny staff. Not so much hustle and bustle and in the summer there is a sunny spot outside, inside with a nice open space. I can't rate the food, I only had fries but they were delicious! 😋 Thanks for the nice time!

Really a super nice, modern and cozy inn. One of the main reasons we love going back again and again is the friendly staff! Always in a good mood and on your toes! The bowling alley in the basement is of course also a great thing.

Only got two beers and still asked to give a tip.. I don’t get it

The meals were okay. There was one dish called Dumpling. I thought it was dumplings, but it turned out to be a yellow thing with a texture similar to mochi. It was interesting but not delicious. The clerk is very kind.

It was a spontaneous visit, very nice service staff. Were there around 7 p.m. and ordered ox cheeks. The price of the dish was around 18 euros. What was really annoying, however, was that I received a “children’s portion” for this price. The amount of meat was still acceptable, but the mashed potatoes were a heaping tablespoon and the mixed vegetables were the same. What a shame!

Bowling was good, but some of the staff were unfriendly, 8 people were squeezed into a table of four even though there were free tables right next to it. They don't give out free tap water, even though it costs 250 euros.

Good cuisine, even without meat. Service was friendly but we were escorted out at 11pm which was a bit strange. The ambience is pleasant, it resonates strongly.

Bavarian restaurant in Maxvorstadt with very good Bavarian food. The roast pork was very tender and the crust was nice and crispy (although too small, but the crust can never be big enough 😂). The sauce tasted very good, but could have been a bit thicker. The service was friendly and attentive. All in all, a good alternative to many pubs in the city center.

Wir besuchten dieses Lokal mit einer Gruppe von etwa 10 Personen zum Weihnachtsessen. Besonders lobenswert ist die Aufnahme von veganen Optionen in der Speisekarte, was eine angenehme Überraschung war. Das Ambiente überzeugte durch seine ansprechende und gepflegte Atmosphäre, die sich wohltuend von vielen anderen Wirtshäusern abhebt. Das Essen war geschmacklich sehr gut, erreichte jedoch nicht ganz das Niveau eines 5-Sterne-Erlebnisses. Die Portionsgrößen empfanden wir als etwas knapp bemessen, was jedoch durch die reichhaltigen Vorspeisen ausgeglichen wurde. Der Service zeigte sich zu Beginn unseres Besuchs ausgesprochen freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Allerdings mussten wir zum Schluss, als das Restaurant voller und hektischer wurde, unerwartet lange warten, um zahlen zu können.

Ich habe selten in meinem Leben so gutes Fleisch gegessen. Sehr saftig und unfassbar zart. Auch der Service war perfekt und alle Kellner waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen sicher wieder!

Lieblingslokal in der Maxvorstadt und jedes mal sehr sehr zufrieden gewesen! Preise, Service, Ambiente, Qualität, etc - alles bestens! Gerne wieder!

In dieser gastronomischen Einrichtung habe nun das erste Mal das Gefühl bekommen, dass, wenn man auf der Karte die Preise nicht mehr weiter anheben kann, dann eben die Qualität des Essens weiter herunter gefahren wird und die Portionen verkleinert werden. Das Schnitzel mit den Bratkartoffeln, also ganz ehrlich, die Bratkartoffeln auf dem Teller konnte man zählen und so ein Schnitzel wird auch immer dünner. Das Personal sollte mal einen Auffrischkurs in Freundlichkeit bekommen. Für ein Essen 22,90 und Trinken für 10 Euro ist es echt beschämend was man aktuell dafür geboten bekommt. Einzig und alleine das Ambiente weiß zu überzeugen. Ich werde dort aber nicht mehr hingehen.

Sehr lecker (hatten zu sechst sowohl diverse Fleisch- als auch veggie-Gerichte und Wirtshausklassiker), modern und trotzdem urig, super Service. Hatten wir so bisher nicht auf dem Schirm, kommen aber sicher wieder!

Das Ambiente und Personal ist super. 4,5/5 Die Käsespätzle waren sehr lecker 4,5/5 Der preis entspricht bei weitem nicht den wirklichen Kosten von Käsespätzle. Käsespätzle für 16€ wo auch im gleichen Restaurant das Schnitzel 16,5€ kostet. Das spricht nicht unbedingt für das Schnitzel :( Der Preis wirkt total random! Preis/Leistung 1,5/5

Have eaten here many times and can recommend everything on the menu! But above all, can highly commend the service as well as the prices - which some may perceive as a bit above some other Bavarian establishments, but not when you experience the value of the food, service, atmosphere quality you will get here! Well worth visiting if you're anywhere in the vicinity!

The food was great, the service was great, but I think the food is too expensive for what you are getting.

Despite me being very tolerant, I have to unfortunately report slow and poor service. Food was fresh and tasty. Atmosphere is quite nice however the poor service killed the max point rating. Been there, done that, I won't return. Thanks however for serving me and letting me pay for the items I ordered and not paying for those I ordered but did not recieve. A fair business.

Toller Wirt und ein ganz besonderes Ambiente.....

Der neue Oberkellner sollte sich dringend einen anderen Ton angewöhnen, vor allem das Drängen auf sofortige Essensbestellung. Ich bin hier in einem Wirtshaus, wo ich primär erstmal zum Trinken hinkomme, der Appetit kommt dann von allein. Kunden aber abzuweisen, weil sie nichts essen wollen, finde ich völlig daneben (es wurde maximal ein Platz an der Bar angeboten, obwohl das Wirtshaus zu 3/4 leer war). Ich wünsche mir das 2023er Team zurück! @Paulaner: Ihr solltet ein Eigeninteresse daran haben, dass Bier über die Ladentheke geht

Sehr zu empfehlen!!!! Super sauberes und ordentliches Ambiente. Sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Servicepersonal. Essen (Käsespätzle aus Roggen-Dinkel-Biomehl + Salat & Duo von Spinat- und Bergkäsknödel) war überaus lecker. Ein echter Gaumenschmaus. Wir kommen beim nächsten Münchenurlaub garantiert wieder hier her zum Essen.

Seit Besitzerwechsel Küche leider deutlich schlechter. Dazu hat sich die Bedienung einfach selbst ein hohes Trinkgeld gegeben was wir erst im Nachhinein gemerkt haben und dann frech weiteres Trinkgeld gefordert.
