A restaurant serving classic Bavarian cuisine within walking distance of the East Station. Inside is a spacious room decorated in vintage style. Quite an extensive menu with soups, salads, main courses and desserts. Many types of beer and wine. It was a Sunday afternoon, it was a rainy day, apparently that’s why it was quite empty inside and there were a lot of empty seats. We ordered Munich schnitzel and goulash with dark beer. Everything was very tasty, the portions were large and filling. Service is good, prices are average for Munich. I liked the place

Really great typical Bavarian restaurant. The food was great and they did me a gluten free dish. Most German food is full of wheat. Service was good, the waitress spoke good English. Food was very tasty and authentic. The glass of Riesling was amazing! It was just extremely hot inside. We found it a bit hard. But it's the culture not really to have aircon.

Food was good, unfortunately they try to take your money out of your pocket with additional dishes on the bill. Seems to be so common in Munich...it happened in almost every restaurant.

The restaurant can be reached via a few stairs. The service was very friendly and attentive, the food came really quickly. The somewhat older restaurant is very comfortably furnished, so you don't feel uncomfortable here, even alone. As we all know, food is always a matter of taste, but I really enjoyed it. The prices are within normal limits and in my opinion the day ticket is rather cheap for this location. The restaurant is not really suitable for disabled people or walkers. Parking is like almost anywhere in a big city, but with a bit of luck you can get a public parking lot nearby.

Munich schnitzel is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, the acoustics are not great, sometimes very loud. But food is absolutely great.

I was there yesterday with friends, I definitely recommend making a reservation. An original Bavarian inn, appropriate menu and sometimes a bit loud. It was packed, the waitresses always kept an overview and were friendly. The dishes were really good with a great price/performance ratio... we'll definitely be back 😊

I went on a Thursday night. It was late, so not many customers. Service was fast and English speaking, with English menu. I took a Munich schnitzel. It was big, filling and crispy. The white beer went quite well with it. I took an apfel strudel with ice cream, which also didn't disappoint. I highly recommend this place!

Serving McCain frozen fries instead of Freshly made. Large portions but for the price not great. Very hot and crowded and slow service. Disappointing

Cozy place with big portions of food! Not too many foreigners here. They have alcohol free beer options. The waitress speaks English and is kind as well. If you don't like bitterness of a beer, try their Radler for a sweeter taste.

It’s a lovely restaurant near the Munich East train station. They serve traditional German food. Ate there twice during our stay since it was near the hotel. Indoors is a nicer atmosphere. Staff is friendly.

A quaint, Bavarian inn with typical Bavarian cuisine where everything is right including staff and price performance. Always my pleasure.

We just wanted a cup of coffee and a hot chocolate. It was also good - I think it's audacious to charge €4.90 just for a large cup of coffee. You can make 100 cups of coffee from one kg of coffee beans and this pack costs a maximum of €15. So the value of a cup is approx. €0.30 including electricity, machine wear and water. With 10 coffees sold, a service worker is paid for 2 hours... there's something wrong with the price here. Luckily the hot chocolate was cheaper at €4.80 despite the icing on the cake. The ambience is nice, the staff is friendly, and the service is good.

Actually, you don't eat for €300 a month and when you say the asparagus is very thin and warmed, the schnitzel is also very thin €26.00 and you're told you always have something to complain about. That wasn't necessary before and I said goodbye to the restaurant.

Cold coffee, rude, insulting behavior from the waitress. We came into the restaurant and asked where we could sit. We were shown a few tables and we sat down at one of them. Then a waitress came and said that the table would be reserved in an hour and that we could sit here in front of it. We ordered coffee and cake and from that moment on the waitress looked at her in such a way that it was clear that she was unhappy that we didn't order much. When I went to pay, she asked how much I wanted to tip. And after I gave it, she was dissatisfied and asked if the service was bad, she said "we gave you a sooo big table" and kept mocking me. She humiliated me. I never expected something like this from a restaurant in Germany. Why did she even ask for the tip and instead of waiting for us to put it on the table, she just demanded it and then humiliated me?! This is the first and last time I will visit this place and I will advise everyone not to.

The food was good, middle-class, I had nothing to complain about. About the service… Food arrived 5 minutes after we took the order. The neighboring table, which had been there for 20 minutes longer, unfortunately only had their food after we had finished eating. When she asked, she was put off twice by saying, “The food is coming soon.” When asked the third time, after about 45 minutes, the “boss” was sent to the table, who then said flippantly as she walked past, “Everything is made fresh and is no finished food.” We also had to ask for drinks at our table because they had probably been forgotten. At least we only got this after we had already eaten half of the main course.

Good home cooking. Unfortunately, service is very rushed and incomprehensible given the low occupancy during our visit.

Always great! One of the few remaining real old-style taverns in Haidhausen without a chic and kiss-bussi crowd. And as it should be, a classic Bavarian selection of dishes and snacks is offered. We spontaneously visited the busy restaurant over lunch (the three of us) and decided on a roast pork (with potato dumplings), a cordon bleu (with fried potatoes) and a large salad bowl, along with draft wheat beer. The drinks and food were served quickly by the friendly service. The portions were more than generous and very tasty, with the roast pork in particular deserving of a top-class rating! Conclusion: all in all more than recommended, and all at moderate prices.

Lovely little German restaurant, the waitresses are adorned in their traditional barbarian garb, and they look wonderful. I had the breaded veal with potatoes and mixed salad, large portion and tasty aswell as the apple strudel and ice cream, scrumptious!

Down-to-earth and very well-made food at reasonable prices. An excellent wheat beer and very friendly and attentive service. That's how it should be. Reservations are recommended as the restaurant is very busy. Lots of guests from the neighborhood.

A Bavarian restaurant with a typical Bavarian ambience. Luckily Bavarian music wasn't playing. The food was very tasty, an onion roast as you would expect: perfectly medium, beautifully tender. The onions are nice and crispy and great fries with it. The Kaiserschmarrn for dessert was also a poem! The service staff alone seemed a bit too pushy to me personally. Otherwise recommended without reservation.

We haven't been to Munich for a long time. Our path quickly took us to Brünnstein and it was as always...tasty, friendly, simply beautiful...good for the stomach and soul...

I was a regular for over 25 years. The Brünnstein was really cheap until around the beginning of 2023, which unfortunately is no longer the case and therefore hardly differs from other comparable Bavarian restaurants in Munich. The food is quite decent, solid, down-to-earth. However, things were significantly better until a few years ago. The staff are mostly friendly to down-to-earth and rude. Because of the excessively high prices and the unfortunately fluctuating quality, I will no longer treat myself to this. What a pity.

I'm so full!! The dark beer was also very delicious. The salad was so delicious!! The service was friendly It was a choice I had no regrets about. We were there for a birthday party. The whole restaurant was full and we ordered from the menu. Respect for the waitresses, who worked very quickly and motivated despite a full shop. The food was served to the birthday guests almost at the same time, which wasn't easy given the number of people. Plus, everything tasted excellent. Waiting times for drinks were short. A big compliment to the entire team.

We came here for dinner quite spontaneously. Just got a spot. Well filled with locals. Roast pork very good. The side salad too. The liver for my companion was also very tasty. Super friendly service. Definitely worth recommending.
