A cozy typical German restaurant The interior is completely made of wood Small menu card I had Wiener schnitzel of veal dish with well-fried potatoes and Preiselbeeren sauce, with a salad as a side dish. The schnitzel was breaded paper thin veal It was just okay.

It doesn't get any better. Very quaint. Very friendly staff. Good beer, even better food. Great position. Dogs allowed.

We had roast pork. Really very tasty. The service is very good.

Nice restaurant, parking at the cemetery is possible for free if you're lucky. The prices are rather high, the portions are normal. Overall it was good, it tasted good, the service was good, the price level was borderline for what was on offer

I have never been disappointed so far. 🙏🏻 The food is good, the prices are okay. I can recommend the Cordon Bleu because I almost never order Cordon Bleu in a pub. Similar to the Asian restaurant with spring rolls, this is the ultimate test of whether (a lot) of frozen food is used. Test passed 👍🏻

Super tasty but a bit expensive

Had a metal clip in my food and when I complained about it, there wasn't even an apology! Very weak!

We were actually there for dinner. After a drink and 20 minutes of waiting until we stopped a waitress to order food again, she told us that the booking stop now applies and that she won't be able to take food orders again until half an hour later.

We discovered this restaurant by chance when we were looking for Kässpätzle. We were greeted and served in an incredibly friendly manner. We ordered cheese pätzle with fried onions and chives - they were the best we've eaten in a long time. Everything fresh and homemade. I ordered fish & chips from the lunch menu. It was a crispy, thinly breaded redfish fillet with lukewarm potato and cucumber salad and remoulade. It was just delicious. We also ordered fries. They were made from fresh potatoes (still with the skin on) and incredibly tasty. My husband had a salad with fried chicken breast and chanterelles, which was more than enough. The whole thing was rounded off with an excellent Bavarian cream, garnished with red fruits. Our waiter was simply great and made our stay a real experience. Staff is top. I need gluten-free and the chef was specifically asked. Worked wonderfully!!! I would also like to have a coffee there, but unfortunately alternative milk is not yet on offer, which I think is a shame. I have known Gerners for years and have also held two funerals there. Great organization!

We recently had dinner there with the children and we were thrilled 💯very nice staff, the children got something to paint (doesn't happen often) and the food was super tasty 😍 * And if you like sweet cocktails you should definitely try the Watermelon Sprizz 😌😉 We'll be back 👍

Always super tasty and fresh food. Have the best burger in the city, which you might not necessarily expect for a Bavarian economy. :) Service is always friendly and attentive.

Were very positively surprised. We had an excellent meal and the service was great.

We ate roast pork with a great crust, two types of dumplings and coleslaw. Everything was excellent and plentiful. The nice waiter was very friendly. You didn't have to wait long for your food either. The prices on the menu, however, are a bit steep.

We had a very early dinner. So it was still quiet in the restaurant. Very pleasant atmosphere. Very friendly waiter who worked quickly and competently. It's no longer a given in the catering industry today. We all had the oven-fresh roast pork with coleslaw. Very large portion, everything was very tasty, including the crust. Can only recommend the restaurant.

How should I even start? In front of the inn there is a small but nice beer garden that invites you to linger. But the dining room is no less inviting to make yourself really comfortable. Then the waitresses, you know how it is when friends and acquaintances tell you about their vacation and emphasize the friendliness of the residents, which is exactly what you experience at Gerners. I was simply overwhelmed by how you were greeted there and how friendly you were treated😊 And this was really great throughout the entire stay! The food was to die for, without exaggeration. I had the roast pork and it was just super delicious. The menu has many other delicious dishes to offer, which I will definitely try. Next time I'll have the Kaiserschmarrn and then I'll fight my way through the menu. When I'm done with it, I'll just start again from the beginning😉 I can really recommend Gerners with a clear conscience.

A true gem of Bavarian gastronomy! I visited this cozy inn with my grandpa and my mother, and we all loved it. From the start we were impressed by the quality and freshness of the food. The aperitif, a refreshing non-alcoholic Hugo, was the perfect start to a wonderful lunch. The tartare, specially prepared in one portion for my grandpa, was a delight. A particular highlight was the Affogato al Caffè (in German: "Drowned Coffee"), a delicious dessert made from espresso and vanilla ice cream, which the staff even explained to us. The service was extremely friendly and in a good mood, which further enhanced the already pleasant atmosphere. All in all, a thoroughly successful visit to a traditional Bavarian inn that perfectly combines authenticity with modern gastronomy. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy real Bavarian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

I recommend ordering from the lunch menu - everything is freshly prepared and absolutely great value for money! Delicious, original Bavarian cuisine, but also offers classics such as roast pork or Kaiserschmarrn. The apple fritters as dessert - incredibly good. Everything was very clean (including the toilets) and well maintained. The staff was very accommodating and humorous. Kid friendly! There is a children's menu.

Been there for the second time. The food was good, the service staff was extremely friendly. It's nice to sit in the shady beer garden. Special praise: on the first visit the nice waiter was extremely challenged because a colleague was unavailable - there was a small mix-up with the order. Despite the stress, he fixed the error immediately and remained extremely accommodating to all guests the entire time. Thank you very much, we'll be back

Absolutely deserved 5 stars! We had nothing to complain about and the food was extremely delicious.

We are currently traveling through Munich to test the restaurants here and chose Gerners Wirtshaus & Bar. The weather looked a lot like rain, so the friendly waiter recommended we go inside. (Which was a good thing after 15 minutes.) The service in this inn is really great and you can tell how much fun you get from the work. The menu is quite clear, but everything is made fresh and in-house. The roast pork, which I ate on recommendation, was really delicious, as was the Kaiserschmarrn, which I also recommend (you should be hungry when eating Kaiserschmarrn). The prices and portions are absolutely fine and reasonable. All in all, I can recommend this inn with a clear conscience. A big compliment to the waiter Christian. Many waiters can take an example from him.

Outstanding food with really decent to large portions. The service staff is very courteous and friendly without being intrusive. The atmosphere is extremely pleasant and you can sit very comfortably in the beer garden. If you want to drink a light beer in Munich as befits your status, you have to come here!

Called in without a reservation, we sat in the beer garden. Service was friendly and efficient and the food was lovely. Inside was much busier with a great atmosphere. The euros were on both the indoor and outdoor screens but outside was a bit quieter. The meals were served fairly quickly considering it was busy. Good vegetarian options

We had our funeral service here. The food and service was very good.

We ordered Schnitzel with potato salad. The meat was very bitter and we found it very hard to eat. The potato salad had too much vinegar, it didn't taste like potatoes at all. The service was great and we loved the interior of the place. I would not recommend this place though, I did not enjoy my meal.

We were warmly welcomed and after hearing the recommendations we ordered them: everything - including the roast pork - was fantastic and of course the beer too! A really good address away from the tourist routes 😉

“Always happy at Gerners” The nice waiter said it yesterday and meant it. Very attentive, very friendly and charming. Always approachable and regularly checking on everything. The food was a poem. We had the schnitzel with horseradish breading and the roast pork with dumplings. Very very tasty! The meat is tender, the dumplings are soft and tasty with a crispy topping. The horseradish breading is crispy and not too spicy. There is a large selection of beers to drink, as well as sparkling Aperol variants. The strawberry syrup for the delicious strawberry spritz is homemade in-house, and the Black Hugo (with black elderberries) also tasted fruity and fresh. The ambience outside is wonderful and cozy. If we ever come back to Munich, we will definitely come back. Card payment possible.

They had a poster advertising fried chicken with fresh wild garlic sauce, we ordered that and were looking forward to the fried chicken. What came was a piece of breaded chicken, the sauce wasn't fresh, it was a convenience product with garlic and not wild garlic. The waitress got a little angry when we told her this and even more so when we didn't tip her. A pity. Hello Mr. Buchi If the pictures you have on your website are correct, we were in your restaurant on April 27th, 2024. What I wrote above is correct. These were pieces of chicken that had been breaded and the sauce wasn't fresh. I know the difference between a woman and a man. To be fair, I ask you not to make excuses, but rather to clarify why something like this could happen in order to avoid such a complaint. I think it's a shame that people don't stand by it. Three of us had lunch there today. The service was super friendly, attentive and competent. The food (all three dishes) was excellent. There was really nothing to complain about. Portion size, temperature, taste and appearance were perfect. The atmosphere is bright and friendly. Modern Bavarian cosiness. The volume in the large room was also absolutely fine. You could understand the person you were talking to and didn't have to shout. The prices for all these amenities and for Munich are absolutely reasonable. We will definitely recommend the restaurant and will definitely come back soon.

Very good food. The schnitzel was super tender and the breading was also very good. For €3 extra there was even cheese spaetzle as a side dish instead of fried potatoes. The Böfflamott was very tender and was complemented very well by the dark beer sauce. The creamed savoy cabbage was phenomenal. There is nothing to complain about in terms of service, very nice and accommodating. Always my pleasure!

Unfortunately my pork fillet was dry and tough only a small core was fine. There are also no side salads with the meal. These cost extra. Ultimately, I was still hungry after eating because the meat wasn't edible. A pity.

Wahnsinnig leckeres Essen, toller, freundlicher Service und ein nettes Ambiente. Das Wiener Schnitzel wie auch der Schweinebraten waren lecker und auch hübsch angerichtet. Was will man mehr?

Wir waren am 23.12.23 zu dritt extra aus Augsburg angereist um dort zu essen und einem an die Wohnung gebundenen Freund anschließend 1/2 Ente vorbei zu bringen. Obwohl wir die 1/2 Ente bereits bei Aufgabe unserer Bestellung orderten war sie als wir bezahlten und sie mitnehmen wollten vergriffen. Das hat uns sehr verärgert und heißt für uns "nie wieder Gerners"

Nachb13 Jahren mal wieder hier gewesen. Immer noch sehr gut. Hohe Qualität in allen Bereichen.

Die Kürbiscreme Suppe war hervorragend. Leider muß man bei der Entenbrust rosa gebraten abstriche machen. Geschmacklich gut, aber leider falsch gebraten. Sie war sehr zäh. Das Blaukraut war dagegen ganz fein und in Semmelbrösel gewäzten Kartoffelknödel selten gut. Facit: üben bei der Entenbrust.

Die Kellnerin war flott und freundlich, das Essen hat gut geschmeckt unddie Portionen waren groß genug. Das Lokal ist nett und sympathisch eingerichtet.

Wir waren sonntags mit zwei kleinen Kindern dort essen, kurz vor Mittag. Trotz vieler Reservierungen, haben wir noch einen super Platz bekommen. Unsere Bedienung Alex war die ganze Zeit über sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell. Für die Kinder gab es sogar ein Malbuch und Stifte…das Essen war auch sehr lecker! Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder!

Wir haben hier sehr lecker gefrühstückt. Das Frühstück wird sehr schön angerichtet. Für Vegetarier/Pescetarier gibt es auch genügend Auswahl. Vegan wird allerdings eng.

Sehr netter Service, obwohl wir mit mehreren Babys im Restaurant waren und dementsprechend chaotisch waren. Leckeres Essen, gute Auswahl an Frühstück/Brunch-Optionen. Ausreichend Platz auch für größeren Gruppen, allerdings muss man in dem Fall IM Voraus reservieren, da zu gewissen Zeiten sehr viel los ist.

Gutes Wirtshaus am Westfriedhof. Freundliches Personal und gutes, bürgerliches Essen. Der Schweinebraten war sehr gut und die Portion mehr als groß, sodass der Preis von ca. 18€ gerechtfertigt war.
