Geschmacklich und optisch sehr gut - das können wir über unser Backhendl und Spinatknödel wirklich sagen. Freundliche Bedienung, netter kleiner Biergarten vor dem Haus, aber an einer größeren Kreuzung. Wir waren nachmittags da, bei wenig Betrieb. Erhöhte Preise - aber angemessene Portionsgröße und Qualität.

Wirtshaus, so wie man das erwartet

Remarkable Wirtshaus. Keine Beanstandung. Sehr lecker. Ich freue mich auf den nächsten Besuch!

Das Essen war super. Gute Bedingung. Hat uns gut gefallen. Natürlich sind die Preise nicht gerade günstig.

Das Bier war köstlich und erfrischend. Die Fleischportion war groß, und das Fleisch war sehr zart und saftig – einfach himmlisch! Ich esse mich quasi durch die ganze Cafeteria, haha.

Wir haben hier gegessen und waren positiv überrascht. Selbst der Kellner, der anfangs kein Italienisch zu sprechen schien, sprach es schließlich problemlos, was das Erlebnis noch angenehmer machte.

Top Service und wir haben alle sehr gut gegessen

Super nette Bedienung (Alexandriu), so herzlich und verbindlich, einfach toll. Da schmeckt das Essen doppelt gut :) Heutzutage in der Gastro leider immer seltener. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Nichts Besonderes. Das Restaurant wirkt extrem rustikal und nicht besonders gemütlich. Draußen sind Tische und Stühle lieblos hingestellt und abends ist es stockdunkel. Das Essen (Kaiserschmarrn) war nichts Besonderes. Da empfehle ich auf jeden Fall die Villa Dante auf der gegenüberliegende Seite um einiges mehr. Wesentlich freundlichere und angenehmere Atmosphäre.

Während unseres Aufenthalts in München hatten wir die Gelegenheit, dieses Haus für unser Abendessen zu besuchen. Die Speisen und Getränke waren von ausgezeichneter Qualität. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit des Servicepersonals, das stets ein offenes Ohr für die Anliegen der Gäste hatte. Wir wurden heute bestens von Alexander bedient. Er war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, solch tolle Servicekräfte gibt es selten-auch die zwei Damen waren sehr freundlich.:-) Das Essen vom Mittagsmenü hat super geschmeckt! Gerne wieder! Danke und Servus!:-)

Ich war Heute Mit einem Freund essen es War Perfekt essen einfach und lecker Lautstärke perfekt Bedienung sehr Freundlich und Höflich und hat uns direkt einen Tisch gegeben und hat immer Gefragt ob alles Passt preislich ein Bisschen Höher aber noch Ok weiterzuempfehlen

Wir fanden die Auswahl der Gerichte auf der Weihnachtsspeisekarte super, es hörte sich wirklich alles gut an! Wir entschieden uns für die Ente, das Hirschgulasch und das Böfflamott. Es hat uns allen hervorragend geschmeckt! Wir saßen gemütlich, das Ambiente war schön und der Service aufmerksam. Die Preise sind zwar gehoben, wir können das Lokal aber trotzdem sehr empfehlen, da das Gesamtpaket stimmt. Wir haben lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen!

Zwischen Dantestadion und Westfriedhof, liegt dieses Top Restaurant, mit excellenter bayr.Küche, einem sehr aufmerksamen Serviceteam, egal ob man Ente, Wild, Rindsgulasch, Flammkuchen oder Kaiserschmarrn bestellt, man bekommt immer etwas besonderes. Hier wird man verwöhnt. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Very nice restaurant and super friendly staff, good location with on-site parking and very easy to reach by public transport, the food is excellent and the mulled wine with orange and cinnamon stick for 6 euros is unbeatable in Munich, both in terms of price and especially taste – top-notch, top-notch! There's little room for improvement. 👍

I always enjoy hosting business lunches here; I've consistently been very satisfied with the food, especially the soups, which I highly recommend. I also recently had a very good roast beef with onions! The service is excellent, even when the restaurant is full. Highly recommended!

I have to revise my initial enthusiasm. Yesterday, the two of us again asked for the empty corner table. An unfamiliar waitress turned us away: reserved! The table was later given to two guests who only had drinks. We again spent about €60 on food and drinks. The other waitress at our table, however, was very friendly. Alex wasn't expected until the evening. ****I must add a sixth star: The waiter, Alex, makes a restaurant visit a highlight. Kudos to him. ****Very friendly service staff. The experience is pleasant. However, the restaurant is sometimes very busy, so reservations are advisable.

The service was incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic. Whether it was roast meat, cordon bleu, Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle), or Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake), everything was freshly prepared and delicious. The prices aren't exactly cheap, but I think it's good value for money.

We've been to Gerners several times and have never been disappointed. The food and service have always been excellent.

A lovely, relatively small inn in Gern with excellent cuisine: The roast duck is especially recommended – the best duck I've ever had! My wife's roast beef was also very, very delicious – cooked to a beautiful pink and served with a lovely gravy. The service is attentive and friendly, the portions are generous, and the prices are very fair by Munich standards.

Disappointing Visit – High Prices and Terrible Service I visited this Bavarian restaurant today (as of November 2025) and I have to say: the visit was a complete disappointment. The service was noticeably unfriendly right from the start. While one isn't exactly accustomed to overly warm service in Bavaria, this was truly unpleasant. The next blow came when I looked at the menu: a large pumpkin soup costs €15, and most main courses are between €22 and €30. The beer prices are also quite high. This clearly places the restaurant in the upper price range – and at these prices, one should expect a corresponding level of service. The food itself was of good quality and tasted good. But whether it's worth the high price is another matter entirely. When we finally wanted to pay, we tried several times to get the server's attention – first by making eye contact, then by gesturing. Both attempts were initially completely ignored. When she finally came to the table, she was visibly annoyed and very curt. We said we wanted to pay by card, to which she replied that she'd bring the machine as she walked away—and then simply never returned. Instead, she served two other tables, cleared away, and reset the tables while we continued to wait. After about 20 minutes, we finally got up and went straight to the counter to pay. There, a colleague of the server approached us and asked why we were standing there. When we explained that we had been waiting for quite some time and simply wanted to pay, he initially reacted rudely as well, saying that his colleague was "very busy." That may be true, but in a restaurant in this price range, that's not the customers' problem—they simply need to organize better or hire more staff. In conclusion: Good food, but poor service and, in some cases, ridiculously high prices. I won't be eating there again.

We had fabulous and attentive service last night. The food was superb. We had Jägerschnitzel, Backhendl (fried chicken), Fried fish, and veal patties with creamed Savoy cabbage. To finish, we shared a delicious Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake) with the four of us. Thank you to the kitchen and service staff!

Wonderful, great restaurant in the heart of Munich, super delicious food, prices a bit higher but everything is super nice and perfect, competent and very friendly staff, I would gladly come back here, even if I have to drive over an hour.

We visited "Gerners" for the first time today, Saturday, for lunch. First of all, I have to praise Madalina, our waitress. She was a super cheerful, friendly, and attentive waitress. Even though she addressed us informally, she did so in a charming, kind, and discreet manner. We were and are simply thrilled with Madalina. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ especially for her💝 The tavern atmosphere was very cozy and clean, only the music could be turned down a bit – so that you could have a better conversation and understand each other. We ordered roast pork – the meat was wonderfully juicy and tender – very tasty👌 It was a perfect first visit, especially thanks to Madalina! We will be back!

Best roast pork in Munich. I've tried a lot of roast pork in Munich, as I order roast pork at almost every family meal. The roast pork at Gerners is by far my favorite. I also highly recommend the schnitzels, especially the Gerner Schnitzel.

A typical Bavarian restaurant. The excellent, nonstop opening hours are definitely worth mentioning, which are quite rare. The Kaiserschmarrn was excellently presented, but a bit dry (beaten eggs, beaten egg whites...?)

What a wonderful restaurant. I went at 1630 when it was quiet. Alex was my waiter who was great, spoke English and explained the best of the menu. The pork roast with coleslaw and dumplings was amazing.

Starting with the food, it's incredibly delicious, with a great selection of non-alcoholic cocktails, perfect value for money for Munich, and the staff are very motivated, attentive, and very friendly. We absolutely hit the jackpot and had a fantastic evening here. After a brief summer rain, we arrived at the beer garden with a serious appetite. My partner went for the mixed salad, while I opted for the Cordon Bleu. The salad portion was impressively large – great value for money and a total hit in terms of flavor. My Cordon Bleu was top-tier: high-quality cheese, generous filling, premium ham, and super tender pork. You can taste that they don’t cut corners here. It came with crisp fries, and if I had to nitpick, a small touch of green on the plate – even just for decoration – would’ve rounded it out. But honestly, no big deal. For dessert, we shared the Kaiserschmarrn – and it was an absolute showstopper. A perfect sweet finish that we both truly enjoyed. The service was warm, attentive, and spot-on from start to finish. The portions were more than fair, and the Kaiserschmarrn was easily enough for two. If you’re after classic Bavarian comfort food done right, this place should be at the top of your list. We’ll definitely be back.

Cozy beer garden and friendly service. Excellent food and very good value for money.

The "Gerners" restaurant is located directly next to the Westfriedhof Cemetery, which often brings with it a large number of funerals. This can only be determined by the attire, of course, as the mood isn't significantly different from that of other guests. The food is tasty and plentiful at any time of day, without being overly opulent. The service is prompt and friendly. An absolute must in Munich—even without a funeral.

Munich schnitzel, salad. Wonderful. Everything was top-notch and highly recommended. I repeat my opinion. Service, food, and atmosphere were excellent, and the garden was lovely. I'll be back again and again. Child-friendly and Hubde-loving.

The best roast pork (from straw-fed pork) with the best gravy. You'd be hard-pressed to find that in Munich. Overall, Gerners has been very good after several visits (it was a bit of a let-up a few years ago). The prices are high, but the value is good. I'd be happy to go back!

Haven’t been for several years since moving out of Munich. We were there yesterday with our 7 year old and our dog, they still have the most amazing food and friendly service. Highly recommended.

Local gourmet restaurant. The quality of Schweinbraten is amazing. The combination of amazing softness and crispiness of the skin was crazy, as if all the Schweinbraten I had ever tried were mocked as fake. Weissbier is also the best to drink, so I recommend visiting this place when you come to Munich.

The best food we ate in Munich! The pork with dark beer sauce was excellent and the asparagus soup perfect and very tasty. It has options for children since it also has a children's menu. It would help a lot if there was a catalog in English as well (it is only in German). The staff very friendly!

A pretty restaurant with wood-panelled walls. The service is good, the menu offers something for every taste. My pasta pockets with spinach ricotta filling on ratatouille was very good. The prices correspond to the general level.

Cozy atmosphere, good location and a really excellent beer selection – that is definitely the strength of the house. The beers were varied and well chilled, you can see the attention to detail. Overall, the food was okay, but not particularly outstanding. Unfortunately, the Kaiserschmarrn at the end was rather dry and unconvincing - a shame, we were expecting more. A small downer: When organizing the reservation, a more flexible and hospitable approach would have been desirable. Something unexpected can always happen - a little more understanding would have made the evening much more relaxed. Conclusion: A nice place for beer lovers, but there is still some room for improvement when it comes to eating and interacting with guests.

It was just so extraordinarily good and a huge portion! Think carefully about whether you want an appetizer. The staff was very attentive and even with 8 people, everything always came together at the same time.

We had reserved a table for 7 people and got a nice table for 9 people. The food we ordered came quickly and was good to very good. The restaurant was reserved for 50 people And 1 bus was expected. The noise level was high, but ok. At around 7 p.m. we were asked if four more people could sit at our table. We weren't thrilled, but we said yes. The drinks came for the new guests but no food. The bus has now left. Instead of moving the 4 people quickly, We continued to sit cramped. We therefore felt compelled to settle our bill and set off. With a bill of €220, we would have expected a little more consideration. Nothing against the kitchen, it's great But in this case our birthday evening was greatly affected.

As part of a funeral service, we made a reservation for lunch in the restaurant. We were looked after and advised with love and empathy right from the start. The hospitality on the day of the funeral was professional and exemplary. Alexander and his team spoiled us with excellent food and warm friendliness and brightened up the sad day. Thank you on behalf of the whole family.

The food was very tasty, we were full too, the extras on the weekly menu are always a good creative alternative to the "normal" menu (which is also very good by the way) ;-), many thanks to Magdalena, who rounded off the evening perfectly with her friendly, cheerful and open manner.

We always enjoy eating here. The restaurant is one of the high-priced pubs, but the quality is delivered and that's worth it to us. The seasonal dishes bring a good variety to the kitchen. The atmosphere is really very cozy and the staff is attentive and friendly. The dishes are very delicious, you can't choose anything “wrong” here 👍 Unfortunately only 4 out of 5 points for the food because the prices have gone up and the portions have become smaller. For example, there was once cheese spaetzle with salad here, but now there is no salad anymore. The Wiener Schnitzel has also become smaller. It's a shame, but we still come over for dinner every now and then.
