We've become regulars at Gerners. The food is excellent. In addition to the standard menu, there are new dishes every week. Also worth mentioning is the very friendly staff. You simply feel at home at Gerners. We can therefore recommend the restaurant without reservation.

We've eaten there many times, including with friends and for birthday parties, and it's always been excellent. Starting with the food, it's incredibly delicious, with a great selection of non-alcoholic cocktails, perfect value for money for Munich, and the staff are very motivated, attentive, and very friendly. In short, we'd be happy to go back anytime.

We absolutely hit the jackpot and had a fantastic evening here. After a brief summer rain, we arrived at the beer garden with a serious appetite. My partner went for the mixed salad, while I opted for the Cordon Bleu. The salad portion was impressively large – great value for money and a total hit in terms of flavor. My Cordon Bleu was top-tier: high-quality cheese, generous filling, premium ham, and super tender pork. You can taste that they don’t cut corners here. It came with crisp fries, and if I had to nitpick, a small touch of green on the plate – even just for decoration – would’ve rounded it out. But honestly, no big deal. For dessert, we shared the Kaiserschmarrn – and it was an absolute showstopper. A perfect sweet finish that we both truly enjoyed. The service was warm, attentive, and spot-on from start to finish. The portions were more than fair, and the Kaiserschmarrn was easily enough for two. If you’re after classic Bavarian comfort food done right, this place should be at the top of your list. We’ll definitely be back.

The "Gerners" restaurant is located directly next to the Westfriedhof Cemetery, which often brings with it a large number of funerals. This can only be determined by the attire, of course, as the mood isn't significantly different from that of other guests. The food is tasty and plentiful at any time of day, without being overly opulent. The service is prompt and friendly. An absolute must in Munich—even without a funeral.

Munich schnitzel, salad. Wonderful. Everything was top-notch and highly recommended. I repeat my opinion. Service, food, and atmosphere were excellent, and the garden was lovely. I'll be back again and again. Child-friendly and Hubde-loving.

The waitress was very friendly, accommodating, and very thoughtful, as there were six adults and two small children. She actively offered a "robber's plate."

The best roast pork (from straw-fed pork) with the best gravy. You'd be hard-pressed to find that in Munich. Overall, Gerners has been very good after several visits (it was a bit of a let-up a few years ago). The prices are high, but the value is good. I'd be happy to go back!

Haven’t been for several years since moving out of Munich. We were there yesterday with our 7 year old and our dog, they still have the most amazing food and friendly service. Highly recommended.

Local gourmet restaurant. The quality of Schweinbraten is amazing. The combination of amazing softness and crispiness of the skin was crazy, as if all the Schweinbraten I had ever tried were mocked as fake. Weissbier is also the best to drink, so I recommend visiting this place when you come to Munich.

The best food we ate in Munich! The pork with dark beer sauce was excellent and the asparagus soup perfect and very tasty. It has options for children since it also has a children's menu. It would help a lot if there was a catalog in English as well (it is only in German). The staff very friendly!

A pretty restaurant with wood-panelled walls. The service is good, the menu offers something for every taste. My pasta pockets with spinach ricotta filling on ratatouille was very good. The prices correspond to the general level.

Cozy atmosphere, good location and a really excellent beer selection – that is definitely the strength of the house. The beers were varied and well chilled, you can see the attention to detail. Overall, the food was okay, but not particularly outstanding. Unfortunately, the Kaiserschmarrn at the end was rather dry and unconvincing - a shame, we were expecting more. A small downer: When organizing the reservation, a more flexible and hospitable approach would have been desirable. Something unexpected can always happen - a little more understanding would have made the evening much more relaxed. Conclusion: A nice place for beer lovers, but there is still some room for improvement when it comes to eating and interacting with guests.

It was just so extraordinarily good and a huge portion! Think carefully about whether you want an appetizer. The staff was very attentive and even with 8 people, everything always came together at the same time.

We had reserved a table for 7 people and got a nice table for 9 people. The food we ordered came quickly and was good to very good. The restaurant was reserved for 50 people And 1 bus was expected. The noise level was high, but ok. At around 7 p.m. we were asked if four more people could sit at our table. We weren't thrilled, but we said yes. The drinks came for the new guests but no food. The bus has now left. Instead of moving the 4 people quickly, We continued to sit cramped. We therefore felt compelled to settle our bill and set off. With a bill of €220, we would have expected a little more consideration. Nothing against the kitchen, it's great But in this case our birthday evening was greatly affected.

As part of a funeral service, we made a reservation for lunch in the restaurant. We were looked after and advised with love and empathy right from the start. The hospitality on the day of the funeral was professional and exemplary. Alexander and his team spoiled us with excellent food and warm friendliness and brightened up the sad day. The food was very tasty, we were full too, the extras on the weekly menu are always a good creative alternative to the "normal" menu (which is also very good by the way) ;-), many thanks to Magdalena, who rounded off the evening perfectly with her friendly, cheerful and open manner.

We always enjoy eating here. The restaurant is one of the high-priced pubs, but the quality is delivered and that's worth it to us. The seasonal dishes bring a good variety to the kitchen. The atmosphere is really very cozy and the staff is attentive and friendly. The dishes are very delicious, you can't choose anything “wrong” here 👍 Unfortunately only 4 out of 5 points for the food because the prices have gone up and the portions have become smaller. For example, there was once cheese spaetzle with salad here, but now there is no salad anymore. The Wiener Schnitzel has also become smaller. It's a shame, but we still come over for dinner every now and then.

We came by here by chance, I didn't know the restaurant yet. During the week it was pleasantly quiet and the service was really friendly and quick. The food came quickly and was good. The prices are average and reasonable for the portions. The restaurant is close to the subway, so it's better to come by public transport.

Absolutely recommended… very good and varied food… but what is particularly worth mentioning is the incredible friendliness and helpfulness of the staff!

A cozy typical German restaurant The interior is completely made of wood Small menu card I had Wiener schnitzel of veal dish with well-fried potatoes and Preiselbeeren sauce, with a salad as a side dish. The schnitzel was breaded paper thin veal It was just okay.

I have never been disappointed so far. 🙏🏻 The food is good, the prices are okay. I can recommend the Cordon Bleu because I almost never order Cordon Bleu in a pub. Similar to the Asian restaurant with spring rolls, this is the ultimate test of whether (a lot) of frozen food is used. Test passed 👍🏻

Had a metal clip in my food and when I complained about it, there wasn't even an apology! Very weak!

We were actually there for dinner. After a drink and 20 minutes of waiting until we stopped a waitress to order food again, she told us that the booking stop now applies and that she won't be able to take food orders again until half an hour later.

We discovered this restaurant by chance when we were looking for Kässpätzle. We were greeted and served in an incredibly friendly manner. We ordered cheese pätzle with fried onions and chives - they were the best we've eaten in a long time. Everything fresh and homemade. I ordered fish & chips from the lunch menu. It was a crispy, thinly breaded redfish fillet with lukewarm potato and cucumber salad and remoulade. It was just delicious. We also ordered fries. They were made from fresh potatoes (still with the skin on) and incredibly tasty. My husband had a salad with fried chicken breast and chanterelles, which was more than enough. The whole thing was rounded off with an excellent Bavarian cream, garnished with red fruits. Our waiter was simply great and made our stay a real experience. Thank you very much for that and see you again 🤗

We ate roast pork with a great crust, two types of dumplings and coleslaw. Everything was excellent and plentiful. The nice waiter was very friendly. You didn't have to wait long for your food either. The prices on the menu, however, are a bit steep.

It's no longer a given in the catering industry today. We all had the oven-fresh roast pork with coleslaw. Very large portion, everything was very tasty, including the crust. Can only recommend the restaurant.

How should I even start? In front of the inn there is a small but nice beer garden that invites you to linger. But the dining room is no less inviting to make yourself really comfortable. Then the waitresses, you know how it is when friends and acquaintances tell you about their vacation and emphasize the friendliness of the residents, which is exactly what you experience at Gerners. I was simply overwhelmed by how you were greeted there and how friendly you were treated😊 And this was really great throughout the entire stay! The food was to die for, without exaggeration. I had the roast pork and it was just super delicious. The menu has many other delicious dishes to offer, which I will definitely try. Next time I'll have the Kaiserschmarrn and then I'll fight my way through the menu. When I'm done with it, I'll just start again from the beginning😉 I can really recommend Gerners with a clear conscience.

A true gem of Bavarian gastronomy! I visited this cozy inn with my grandpa and my mother, and we all loved it. From the start we were impressed by the quality and freshness of the food. The aperitif, a refreshing non-alcoholic Hugo, was the perfect start to a wonderful lunch. The tartare, specially prepared in one portion for my grandpa, was a delight. A particular highlight was the Affogato al Caffè (in German: "Drowned Coffee"), a delicious dessert made from espresso and vanilla ice cream, which the staff even explained to us. The service was extremely friendly and in a good mood, which further enhanced the already pleasant atmosphere. All in all, a thoroughly successful visit to a traditional Bavarian inn that perfectly combines authenticity with modern gastronomy. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy real Bavarian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

I recommend ordering from the lunch menu - everything is freshly prepared and absolutely great value for money! Delicious, original Bavarian cuisine, but also offers classics such as roast pork or Kaiserschmarrn. The apple fritters as dessert - incredibly good. Everything was very clean (including the toilets) and well maintained. The staff was very accommodating and humorous. Kid friendly! There is a children's menu.

Been there for the second time. The food was good, the service staff was extremely friendly. It's nice to sit in the shady beer garden. Special praise: on the first visit the nice waiter was extremely challenged because a colleague was unavailable - there was a small mix-up with the order. Despite the stress, he fixed the error immediately and remained extremely accommodating to all guests the entire time. Thank you very much, we'll be back
