Finally, had a chance to dine at The Grill on top of L’Osteria near Karlsplatz. The dining experience was unexpectedly flat, considering it was holiday season (December of last year). Or maybe we just expected a festivity and this restaurant was achieving a classy, tone down vibe. Nonetheless, food was great. They expect to be tipped for a good service.

Despite having a reservation, we had to wait in line in front of L'Osteria for about 30 minutes, although it wasn't clear that one line was for reservations and another for those without a reservation. The organization therefore does not fit at the front and back. It was also unpleasant for the people who wanted to get out because they had to squeeze through. However, the employee confidently completed everything. The view into the kitchen was cool, but we didn't see much of the waiter. The pizzas were delicious and huge. The volume of the music was uncomfortably loud as we had to talk very loudly to hear each other. Not a restaurant I would go to again or anyone would recommend. It's a real shame because the rooms are very nice.

The ambience and location are great. It looks very chic and calm and the view outside is very nice. However, we will not come back a second time. Although the starters were really very good, the main courses and side dishes were inedible. We had fillet that was completely dry and bland and some of the side dishes had such unappetizing aftertastes that I couldn't eat it. If you want to eat steak, you should choose another restaurant.

An absolute experience. As a guest, you feel welcome right from the reception and are looked after by attentive and courteous waiters throughout your entire visit. The food was excellent – a delight for the senses – and the glasses never remained empty for long. The advice was particularly impressive: the menu offers a lot, but the waiters' recommendations take the taste experience to a whole new level. A personal highlight was the moment when a colleague was recommended the perfect Stellenbosch wine based on a description - I had been looking for Blaauwklippen without prior consultation and so I couldn't resist and had to join in. To top it all off, there was a crème brûlée that tasted simply heavenly. An all-round successful culinary adventure.

Update original review: After our previous visit, we started the next evening with high expectations, which unfortunately were not completely fulfilled. There were little things Service and in the kitchen, which is on made the difference in the end: It starts when we arrive: Instead of using the coat rack, we were offered to hang our jackets over the chairs, Arrived at the table: On the last visit, the waiter was 101% attentive and knew before me what I actually wanted. Unfortunately not this time. Eat: The bread place setting and the tartare are great, no ifs and buts! The meat, on the other hand, was no longer as extraordinary as last time. Had the feeling it wasn't straight away Grill was brought to us. The chilli pesto and creamed spinach are bland and the herb butter or the steak is too cold that it would melt. Dessert was ok, but nothing special. For the sake of completeness, I'll leave my old review: We had a great evening for two. Service great, food great, atmosphere great! We'll be back

Unfortunately I didn't get to eat. My table was given away after 5 minutes late but it was the person who was seated who made it for me. Consistently, other guests were preferred who apparently simply had to be a little older to maintain his favor. The higher the age, the more preference is given to you, completely fine if you do well with it, but since I'm a paying guest like everyone else and these aren't exactly gold rush times, I just wish the restaurant all the best with this approach after this disappointing experience:)

Disappointing experience at the Grill in the Künstlerhaus Unfortunately, our visit to the Grill in the Künstlerhaus was a big disappointment. The taste of the food was extremely disappointing, and both the steak, the side dishes and the sauce came to the table cold. After our complaint, the steak was briefly heated under the salamander so that it was warm on the outside but remained cold on the inside. The “truffle potato gratin” was particularly annoying – the potatoes were still raw inside. The Béarnaise sauce was again served to us cold, with the explanation that it was basically cold - an explanation that was completely new to us. Our criticism was not addressed and the waiter reacted unprofessionally and with little customer focus. Unfortunately, we looked in vain for friendliness and service that evening. The fact that a restaurant in this upscale price range is half empty at 9 p.m. on a Saturday evening before the third Advent speaks for itself. We had fond memories of the grill from before, but the quality has now dropped so much that we certainly won't be coming back. There are definitely better alternatives in Munich such as Little London, El Gaucho or Prime Steakhouse - unfortunately these were fully booked, but in the future we will make reservations in good time so that we can enjoy a really good dinner. Conclusion: Absolutely disappointing - neither service nor quality justify the prices.

Totally amazing food and atmosphere. I went there for me birthday and they even gave a candle for me to blow with the dessert order. The seafood sharing menu totally out of this world. Amazing food. There desserts were really tasty. The cocktail wasnt what i expected but still gave the buzz and taste wise weren't bad.

An institution in Munich. Steaks & Co. of the highest quality and an exquisite ambience. The entrance is a bit hidden in another restaurant. First thing in the evening you have to wade through the crowd of people in the restaurant on the ground floor until you reach the actual staircase. I ordered a surf & turf with lobster. Instead of half a lobster, I was suddenly brought a steak with shrimp. I complained. After coordination with the kitchen, they apologized and informed me that the lobster would be prepared quickly. But they decided to leave the plate with me for now and deliver the lobster later. Confused, I began to taste the delicious steak. Then there was a rush: you pulled the plate from the table and disappeared into the kitchen. Then to my surprise: a new steak with lobster. The first steak and shrimp were probably thrown away. Too bad for the food. I would have continued eating the steak and the shrimp too. I wasn't asked. I probably didn't have a good day. I have been an enthusiastic guest for many years. In summer there is also a lovely outdoor terrace.

We went the restaurant with my kids and my husband with reservation at 15.11.24 at 19.30. They gave us a table far away from people sitting inside. We were only people sitting in that side although other side was crowded. when we asked them why did you put us away from people they said all the tables are booked before us. They seem like annoyed with kids, very sad experience

We spend the evening with a party of 2 there. Don‘t be shocked if you have to first fight your way into a crowded and noisy pizzeria first, once you walk up the stairs you enter into a different culinary world. The service was very good. Just the right mixture of being young super friendly people, attentive, and efficient. Don‘t be shocked if you need to pay for the bread and butter. Unusual and I would prefer to have the 6€ hidden in the regular price, but well worth it. We had dry aged Australian rib-eye and carabineros. Both cooked to perfection and served together for sharing. The carabineros were insanely good. The beef was so excellent I had to withhold the urge to search for a dry aging fridge for home. Side orders of outstanding fries (I am a french fries snob😂) and also very good wild brokkoli. We were very happy with the food. Since we didn‘t want to order a whole bottle of wine, we had to revert to the open wine list. I wish the selection was a tad better. The wine did not manage to keep up to the food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is on par with the food. Modern interior with dimmed lights, but I didn‘t feel it was dark. (I usually don‘t like dark restaurants and prefer them to be bright) Only 4 stars for atmosphere, because this place - like many restaurants in Munich - has a DJ who slowly transfer restaurants into clubs. We did not stay long enough to judge if that was happening here as well, but overall noise level kept rising during our two hours there. we rather enjoy quiet places, so not the restaurants fault. Overall I am looking forward to my next visit!

Sorry, I like the restaurant and the service staff are great, but the food was really not what would be expected in the price range. The rib eye (for 57 euros without side dishes) was too flaky and visually not very unique. The starter was boring. The extra side dishes are tiny. At least you could add fleur de sel. (at an 87 euro dry age). I'm sorry. We won't do it anymore. Kind of a shame. Ps: The queue down to the Osteria is a deterrent and reduces the quality of the “grill”.

If you want to pay high end price for a supermarket quality meat, this is the place to go. Lets be clear, this is a steak house that promises to deliver high end quality meat. 90€ 200g “wagyu” cut that was rubbery and tasteless. No marbeling, this should be considered a fraud. After describing my frustration to the waiter the only answer I got was: “we never had a complaint” which is not only a massive lie but also a huge lack of professionalism. Dont waste your time and money coming to this place. I was expecting a proper goodbye meal before leaving Munich and was left with a sense that I was completely ripped of my money. It was the most disapointing dinning experience of my life. I came home hungry.

Went there spontaneously for a drink with a friend last night and we immediately felt really comfortable. I immediately fell in love with our waiter Stefan because he had an incredibly pleasant demeanor, served us very attentively and simply gave us a wonderful evening there. So I can only recommend it there and if Stefan's boss reads this: Give the man a raise!!! People like Stefan, who manages to create such a pleasant atmosphere for the guests and leaves no wish unfulfilled and even reads their lips, have become very rare and incredibly valuable. You just notice that a waiter is not only great when he brings the drinks correctly and quickly, but is also able to make the guest feel completely happy.

The place is really beautiful! great ambience, great service, but unfortunately the food doesn't match the price. You pay a lot more here than in most steak restaurants and I expect well done when I order this! the chimichuri was subterranean. It was basically just olive oil with a little parsley. My new steak restaurant of choice! We were here on an evening before a public holiday. The starters are definitely worth skipping lunch 😁 the tartare was A+, the bread (from Julius of course) was a dream! Crispy and warm. The steak, one fillet rare, one rib eye medium rare, were perfectly cooked and very delicious. I also like the simple presentation on the white plate. After all, it's all about the meat! The side dishes, broccoli and spinach, were unusually prepared and at the same time very suitable. Well and the service! Fantastic! Never too stiff (despite the noble atmosphere) always friendly. We just had a really nice anniversary😃

1 star is still too much!!!! I celebrated my 30th birthday there. The service was just annoying and rude. Despite a bill of almost €1000, none came "Happy birthday" or a small gift. Check your invoice carefully! If you have a high bill or a lot of orders, the waiters like to write more things on it that you didn't even have... like with me and some people who told me that!!! As if they didn't already get enough tips. In the end you really get kicked out of this place. The waiters push you to do it! Thank you for this great, unforgettable evening!

I think it's one of the most overrated shops in Munich at the moment, the service staff is extremely unfriendly and not focused on the customer, the meat (4x steaks) is of good quality but ruined by the kitchen due to excessive grilling and definitely not according to the required cooking level. Premium prices are charged for this, which unfortunately bear no relation to the overall experience. IT was worth a try, but with the range of good steak restaurants in Munich with attentive and friendly staff, there is no reason to repeat it. If you want to "burn" your money (in the truest sense of the word) you've come to the right place.

If you want to experience something special culinary in Munich, you shouldn't miss this special restaurant. It is top in every respect, both in terms of the unique open-air location as well as the special ambience and the finest steaks. Although the location is right in the center of Munich, close to one of the busiest streets Munich, we spent a quiet evening here. The Wagyu fillet was extremely artfully cooked medium and served with chanterelles. It was a special experience of fine dining.

Chic steakhouse in the heart of Munich. Above a l'Osteria. In the entrance area there's a bit of a strong smell of cheap cheese and greasy salami. Luckily, The Grill is a bit off on the first floor. Stylishly furnished, not too much, but not too little design either. The sensational view is in the foreground. Comfortable, stylish furniture, super nice and pleasant acoustics, carpet like in a noble hotel. The service is unobtrusive and attentive, the dishes are reasonably priced but also top quality and arrangement. All in all, a very decent steakhouse at decent prices. If the breadcrumbs had been cleared from the table every now and then and all 4 steaks had been cooked to perfection, I would get full marks here. Either way: a visit is absolutely recommended.

It's been a while since we visited - the first time was during Covid, where everything was excellent. Unfortunately, the last visit almost a year ago was the complete opposite. The atmosphere wasn't nice, which wasn't just due to the large group next to us. The service was inattentive, the main courses arrived while we were still eating the starters. All good things come in threes? Probably not, at this price level I expect something different.

They should call this place an Irish steak house because that’s what it is akin to Ordered salad steak fries and app all pretty underwhelming First grilled caesar salad was coated with an excessive amount of very dressing bland dressing Dry aged ribeye steak had no crust and the fat was not rendered - I don’t think they cook with a high enough heat and I had to ask them to put it back on the grill Third was the grilled artichokes which were unremarkable mushy and bland. The service was good but otherwise I would stay away from this restaurant

Given that you leave at least €100 per person, we expected more and have had better experiences in Munich steakhouses. I also stated when making the reservation that it was my birthday. Positive: Nice ambience. Very good steak. Negative: The side dishes. The “mashed potatoes” with herbs had no taste at all, the BBQ sauce was probably homemade, but the taste was also average. Likewise the herb butter. The open wines: The names of the wines are on the menu, that's it. Who should make a decision? To find out what type of wine it is you have to ask the waiter. The service: The reception was friendly, the request for a window seat when booking online was granted. The waiter: Not that I would remember him as being extremely friendly. A no-go: clear everything away without asking when you're still eating. The table was then empty except for the fries and the bread. You get the impression that things are already being prepared for the next guest even though you haven't even paid yet. All in all, a farewell visit. For the money you can get more and better somewhere else. It's a shame actually.

After an initial wait, we were served promptly and the service increased enormously. My partner started with 6 oysters, followed by our starter cake stand with beef tartare, beetroot salad and excellent prawns. For the main course we had asparagus and 300g Vagyo fillet with herb butter, cabbage salad, potatoes and carrots. At the end we had a delicious espresso. Super good selection of wine, unfortunately at comparatively very high prices.

The food and service are, as expected, very good. Of course the meat is excellent, but the other dishes were also very tasty. The cocktails even exceeded our expectations. The ambience is nice, but not quite worth 5 stars. But this is a matter of taste.

So I would say the quality of the food is bomb! But if you ask the waiter for a short one and he will easily bring you 5 Mirabelle schnapps! Then hold on to 19 euros per glass of 2 cl. And all without him saying a sound! It's an insolence before the Lord! It's not about the money, I think it's an impudence towards the customer and that screams like a rip-off!

For me it's still the best steak restaurant in Munich. Was in the Golden Kalb, El Gaucho and Waca last year and can say that the grill was, at least for my taste, the best, also in terms of price. I would like to go there again. Had the Herefort filet, fries, spinach and grilled carrots and it was all delicious!

I truly liked this place. Atmosphere is so relaxed that you forget the chaos outside (and the messy osteria downstairs in the ground floor) and enjoy some quality food with great views. Classy and with excellent quality meat. Service, I think, is the cherry on top of the cake.

Fabulous place to have dinner. Cosy and relaxed ambiance, the dark walls and the spots of light just above the table emphasize on the food and the person you share it with. Perfect service, fast but not pushy, waiters knowing their job and the menu very well. Food was delicious, cooked as requested, quality meat. Rather on the expensive side, but not crazy for Munich. An address to recommend !

Wir waren Donnerstag Abend im "Grill im Künstlerhaus". Das Restaurant war gut besucht (man sollte vorab reservieren) und wir wurden freundlich empfangen. Das Essen hatte Insgesamt eine sehr gute Qualität und die Drinks waren gut gemischt. Das Highlight war für mich das Rindertartar auf Baguette. Beim Steak hätte ich mehr Dekoration erwartet. Ein Steak, dass einfach auf einen weißen Teller gelegt wird, finde ich persönlich zu wenig in dieser Preisklasse. Das Hereford-Filet hatte immerhin einen Soßenspiegel. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und konnte Gerichte und Getränke empfehlen. Leider mussten wir teilweise sehr lange warten und saßen über längere Abschnitte auf dem Trockenen. Dazu musste man jedes Mal aktiv den Kellner zu sich winken. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist meiner Ansicht nach nicht gerechtfertigt. Steak kostet zwischen 40-60€ um einen groben Anhaltspunkt zu geben. Ein normaler Gin-Tonic hat knapp 20€ gekostet. Insgesamt würde ich "nur" 3,5 Sterne vergeben.

We ordered the chef's special for the main dish, containing 500gr rib eye, tiger prawns and brussel sprouts. Pro: - The meat was delicate and well cooked, also it was exactly medium as ordered. - the prawn's score was 110 from 100!!! - The bread was somehow special, even the butter was really delicious, somehow different than the every other butter ive ever had Contra: - the meat and the veggies are under seasoned, meanwhile the sauce was over seasoned. Would be nice if both are just well seasoned. - the sauce for the meat was too thick, that it could hardly flow to my plate. - unfortunately found a hair in the appetizer--> but they directly apologized for it. For appetizers: they put a lot of effort into the snowcrab tatar, containing a lot of components, unfortunately it doesn't match. The worker were actually nice, but just need to put a little bit more smile 😁.

Strozziapreti con Tartufo, Very good pasta, unfortunately a bit cold. The Parmesan could have been more The truffle was sufficient. The entire portion should be a little more, especially much hotter with more sauce and therefore more parmesan. The service, friendly, a bit cold at first and unfortunately it quickly left at the first sign of criticism. Nice restaurant, attractive, toilets perfect, but the dining room a bit too cool But overall a clear 4 star rating and therefore recommended.

Der Chef ist unwirsch. Bedienung lässt auf sich warten. Dauert lange auch ein einfaches Gericht zu bekommen. Kein Menü weil Koch ausgefallen. Dafür ist es nicht günstig.
