Ca'Doro Restaurant & Pizza in München

Spend your money elsewhere. Very disappointing experience. The staff was extremely rude and seemed completely uninterested in helping us. We waited about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us, and when we were finally seated, the gentleman who sat us was judgmental and gave us dirty looks. The food quality did not match the prices at all. We ordered pasta and were asked if we wanted grated cheese on top, without being informed that this would cost €8 per plate for a very small amount. The water was charged at €8.50 instead of €4.50, which felt misleading. On top of that, the wheat beer was terrible—we couldn’t even finish it. Overall, poor service, unclear pricing, and food that was not worth the cost. Definitely not a place I would recommend or return to.

The reception wasn't particularly friendly, and although we had a reservation, we stood at the reception desk for a good 10 minutes with four other strangers and were ignored. However, the waiter at our table was very nice and attentive. The food and drinks were excellent, although we did have to wait quite a while. We received our appetizer an hour after arriving. Thankfully, the main course didn't take nearly as long, but other guests who arrived after us even received their food before our first course. Perhaps it was just an off day, and we'll try again, because the food was really good.

We spontaneously decided to eat here today. We received a friendly welcome, and even without a reservation, the two of us were easily seated. Anthony greeted us warmly at our table and immediately suggested wine and food options! The carbonara and burrata, as well as the garlic bread (a bread that truly lives up to its name!), were fantastic! We didn't have to wait long for our food, and you could immediately tell how high-quality the ingredients were! The sweet white wine was the best I've ever had! Yes, the prices are high, but (unfortunately) reasonable and justified. :) If we're ever in Munich again, we'll definitely be back!

We came to Munich from Switzerland and wanted to have a nice meal, but the staff (a woman in a white shirt, possibly the head chef with blonde hair) immediately sent us away (she didn't even look us in the eye) and said you could only eat there with a reservation, even though there were still free tables. Very unfriendly and disrespectful!

And when we actually tried to avoid this so we could just sit and diner he said that there weren't any tables for us(there actually was). We had an excellent experience at Ca’D’oro | Ristorante & Pizza Napoletana. We ordered three different pizzas, and every single one was outstanding, perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients. You can really taste the authenticity in the dough and toppings. Everything from start to finish was excellent, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended for anyone who loves great Neapolitan pizza!

Very good restaurant. We were struggling to find somewhere to eat in Munich away from the Xmas markets. Found this and found it very welcoming. Food was good. Great pizza. Service was excellent to the point where we were very surprised to learn our waiter was only on his third day as a waiter. He was so professional and competent that you would think he had been at it a long time.

It's clear there's a great passion for Italian tradition behind it. I tried one of their specialty pizzas and was struck by the balance of flavors: nothing overdone, everything perfectly harmonious. Even those who prefer classic pizzas will find true masterpieces of simplicity. The appetizers are also excellent, served with care and generosity, and the final dessert—the tiramisu—is simply delicious: creamy, homemade, and the perfect way to end the meal. Another strong point is the atmosphere: clean, welcoming, with decor that combines modern taste and Italian warmth. Despite being often very busy, I've never had the feeling of chaos or disorganization. Wait times are reasonable, and service is always efficient. In short, Ca d'Oro is a pizzeria that stands out, a place you'll gladly return to because it offers authentic quality and rare hospitality. Had to wait a while for a table, food was excellent. They charge extra for anything, cheese on your salad+ 4.50, ice cream on your strudel +2.50, whipped cream +2.50, very busy place.

We had a really good time, to be honest. The pizzas we ordered were delicious, with a thin crust and a thick edge that made them not too heavy. The place is large and pleasant, with hardly any noise, and the waitress who served us was super friendly and attentive. The only downside I didn't like was that they charged €4.20 for a 0.25 cl bottle of water.

Italian restaurant right next to the central station. Extensive menu with suggestions and recommendations. Mid-to-high prices, but the service is excellent. The dishes are quite substantial; the preparation is a bit slow, but the wait is pleasant and relaxing. They offer cocktails and a wide selection of drinks. Pasta dishes: €25-30, pizza: €18-24, water: €8.50, desserts: €10-15.

Long wait time, food arrived burnt

Racist staff. The host who was supposed to welcome us was quite a rude man. He was messing up with our nationality as soon as he understood where we were coming from. As a first time tourist in Germany, this experience left us with a bitter taste. What happened is that as soon as we tried to just get ourselves a table he said that there is no table available. There were clearly tables available. He said you can get out and we clearly did because we of course do not sit where we’re not welcomed.

I dined there on November 8th, and I'm so sorry I only just remembered to leave a review. This was the most enjoyable meal I had in Germany! ♥ I went alone, and I was warmly welcomed as soon as I walked in. - I ordered my favorite Carbonara 🍝, which was the best I've ever had! The taste truly deserves a 100/100! - Because I really loved this restaurant, I also gave the gentleman who served me a bag of cookies I brought from Taiwan, called Yi Mei Mini Cream Puffs (last picture). I hope he liked them. - I'll definitely come back to eat here again if I have the chance to visit Germany again. Thank you for your thoughtful food and treatment of your guests. Slow service and dinner not good for the price

One of the best Neapolitan pizzas I've ever eaten!! The service was very friendly and helpful, a 10/10.

We didn’t make it past the front door. After being there for a little while the man (with a shaped goatee) who eventually arrived was so unnecessarily rude to the women in front of us then proceeded to ignore us - we had seen enough. There are plenty of other options in the area where they welcome guests in like civilised human beings.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't what we had hoped for. One portion had to be remade because it was completely missing salt. Then we ordered all the dishes with truffles. The truffles had no flavor. What a shame! 😟

It is not bad, but indeed not good. Food is mediocre at best, and my girlfriend can do better for the pasta. Service is very overloaded as only one waitress there. Not a bad place but 4.5 star average would be too high.

I've never seen a restaurant like this before. We came all the way to Stuttgart, made our requests, were welcomed, and then, as we turned around, she said, "Dear lady, you're banned from the premises." Of course, we confronted her. She admitted, "Yes, I said it," and we tried to contact her boss. The boss simply said, "Be glad we welcomed you." Furthermore, people carrying suitcases weren't allowed inside.

If you are in the neighbourhood and like Italian this is a good place to eat and drink at.

When we ordered, the waiter didn't know what sherry was. Unfortunately, he also refused our request for more sauce later on. He seemed overwhelmed. A real shame. The service significantly detracted from the overall experience.

Completely overpriced Two glasses of Chianti, a little something to end the evening, €40 But as our waiter said, you could just buy a bottle of wine at Edeka!

The food was actually excellent and we really enjoyed it, but boy were we shocked once the bill was served to us and we saw €8.5 charge for the bottle of still water we ordered. I’ve been to much fancier restaurants before and water there was still cheaper than this. I’d say go and enjoy the food, but make sure to hydrate before.

The welcome was very warm and the service was equally friendly. The cocktails were excellent. We had two wonderful pizzas, one with pulled beef and the other with supper. We would love to come back again.

The food was served so slowly I wanted to sleep. I only chose the Japanese restaurant recommendations, but I wouldn't recommend them. The Caesar's Law was too salty, and the fried chicken on top was also incredibly salty. The pumpkin soup had no Southeast Asian flavor, just curry powder, and the crispy bread on top was too salty. The pizza was nothing special, and the cheese jelly on top was okay. The pasta was excessively oily and lacked black truffle flavor. The risotto was sour and unappetizing. The bill will definitely be more than 10% higher than expected. I absolutely do not recommend it.

Very unfriendly reception. Luggage isn't allowed there. We and a group of 10 other people were turned away. So why operate a restaurant right next to the main train station if travelers with suitcases aren't welcome?

Service was very slow… took at least 20 minutes to get our salad. Had to pace our bottle of wine to drink with our food. 75L water for 8.50; Basket of bread 11.00. I ordered the Lucca (spaghetti with seafood) and was asked if I wanted “fish powder” to enhance the seafood flavor. I said OK, thinking it would be a small charge. Boy was I wrong! It was 8.00 for a few sprinkles of powder? A suggestion to future diners: Just Say No!!!

Ca'D'oro Ristorante & Pizza Napoletana in Munich is one of my favorite restaurants when I'm in town. I eat there regularly because the food is always delicious—authentic, fresh, and typically Italian. The ambiance is also very appealing; the ceiling, in particular, is a real eye-catcher and gives the restaurant a special atmosphere. Despite its central location right next to the main train station, it's never crowded, which makes it all the more pleasant. The service is friendly, waiting times are short, and the quality of the food is consistently high. For me, it's a real insider tip for anyone who wants to enjoy good Italian cuisine in a quiet and stylish setting.

This would be a 5-star review had it not been for the bartender bringing it down. A “dirty martini” is on the menu and I was told it could not be made with vodka instead of gin. I opted for a beer instead and the pour was terrible, with way too much head. Food and ambiance was good, but the awkward conversation regarding the martini really ruined the mood for the evening

We (a couple) were here for the first time and had made a reservation. The restaurant was very busy, but we still got our reserved table right away. Overall, we were very satisfied; the food was fresh and everything was of very high quality. Excellent wine from the Marche region and a truly super nice, lively, and competent waitress who delighted us with her friendliness and courtesy at every moment. Thank you, dear Daria—you were charming. You don't find that often these days, or rather, almost none at all. The only downside was the €8.50 for a bottle of water. That really shouldn't be too much. Otherwise, everything was great.

After a long car ride from Italy, we were really hungry and looking forward to a nice evening with good food. The welcome wasn't exactly warm, but we got a table without a reservation. The waiter wasn't an expert; he couldn't sell or smile in a friendly manner, which should be part of his job. We had ordered two starters and two main courses. We wanted a bread basket with the starter, and the waiter asked how many slices we wanted, as each slice was €1.80 (not worth the price). The bread was rubbery. The seafood pasta was tasty, but the pasta brasato wasn't al dente, and I couldn't find the meat in it, or rather, you could count the pieces on one hand. When we wanted to pay, we had to wait a long time for the waiter, and at some point we were fed up. We got up and stood at the front until the waiter came and asked for the bill. He didn't ask us if we enjoyed the food or if everything was OK. We got the bill and he asked if we wanted to give him a tip. We always tip 10%, but unfortunately, for this service, today we only got 0%. How this restaurant got 4.5 stars is beyond us. The reviews are probably fake. We can't recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!

Fine Italian dining in Munich. Food was tasty but I enjoyed the Pizza at another location the night before, much better.

I passed by the restaurant during the day and it looked interesting, so I made a reservation and visited in the evening. The tall male server spoke English fluently and was super friendly. Thanks to him, I left with great memories. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. I visited during Munich's Oktoberfest, and everywhere I went was noisy and smelly, but I found peace at this restaurant. The chef's special, grilled sea bass, was truly delicious.

I clarified that I, too, was a customer and deserved respectful treatment, but he continued to argue. Finally, he told me, "If you don't like it, leave!" After 20 minutes at the table, I decided to leave—disappointed by the lack of professionalism, respect, and empathy. This arrogant attitude makes it seem as if customer service is a burden to them and they haven't understood the basics: respecting and taking guests seriously. I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are far better options in Munich where guests are truly valued. I'd like to draw your attention to the unacceptable behavior of the manager at the door—the one with the Italian accent. His demeanor is rude, unprofessional, and completely unsuitable for someone who is supposed to be greeting and serving customers. Instead of being welcoming, he achieves the exact opposite: he makes you feel unwelcome. If this continues, you will lose many customers. I've already seen people walk away because of his treatment, and I personally have no desire to return as long as he works there. Someone in his position should be representing the business positively—instead, he damages your reputation every single day. For the good of your company, he should be removed from his position immediately.

I honestly don’t understand how this place has so many positive reviews. After experiencing it myself, I went back and read the negative reviews — and I agree with the comments about the extremely slow service. On top of that, the restaurant made no effort to accommodate a child. We asked for plain noodles (something they should easily have available) and a simple scoop of ice cream, but both requests were flatly refused. Instead, we were told, “These are the pastas we have, and these are the desserts we have.” At one point, a staff member was screamed at so loudly by management that she walked out, which should never happen in front of guests. I’ve worked in kitchens before, and while I understand the stress in the back of house, the front of house should never be exposed to that. I also understand that restaurants may not change menu items, but if that’s their strict policy, it should be clearly noted somewhere on the menu. And before anyone assumes this is a cultural misunderstanding — I live in Austria and have been to Germany many times and know how things typically work here. The food itself was just okay, and the place looks nice, but that’s about it. I would not recommend wasting your time here, especially if you’re dining with kids.

The wine list is surprisingly extensive and expertly selected, worthy of the finest wine shops. The visit to the kitchen was revealing: non-slip technical flooring, decorative marble surfaces instead of the usual tiles, and an exemplary level of order, cleanliness, and organization. Attention to detail, a true expression of Italian know-how, permeates every aspect of the experience. As a lover of Neapolitan bread and pizza, I would not have expected to find an environment of this caliber. Considering the overall quality, the pricing policy is surprisingly balanced and affordable. A place to remember, an experience worth experiencing without hesitation.

Quite expensive for the quantity & quality, but it doea the job if you want some italian

After a long train ride, I stopped by Ca'D'oro right next to Munich Central Station for lunch – and it was absolutely worth it. I ordered a Margherita Bufalina pizza with a wheat beer – because beer simply goes best with a good pizza. The pizza was prepared in the Neapolitan style: a light, airy crust, an aromatic tomato sauce with intense flavor, and a wonderfully creamy buffalo mozzarella. You can immediately tell that they use high-quality ingredients. The restaurant itself is elegant yet inviting. Since it wasn't very busy at the time, I was able to enjoy my meal in peace. I would especially like to mention the staff: very attentive, friendly, and pleasantly professional. To finish off, I treated myself to an espresso – strong, aromatic, and the perfect way to round off the meal. For me, Ca'D'oro is a clear recommendation: an excellent address for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine near the train station in Munich.

We started out with the calamari that I have to say was the best I ever had, fallowed with the Sea Bass as our entrée that was fantastic.
