Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und reichlichig Optisch auch sehr schön gemacht der sehr war freundlich und zuvorkommend mega groß an unterschiedlichees Frühstück Müsli wir frisch zubereitet Preis Leistung Verhältnis sehr gute heiße Schokolade 😍 kann man nur jedem empfehlen Einfach mega da 👍🏾😃

Wir waren heute zu zweit zum Mittagessen hier und waren rundum zufrieden. Ich hatte den Backfisch mit Kartoffelsalat und Beilagensalat. Auf den ersten Blick sah die Portion eher klein aus, am Ende waren wir aber beide angenehm satt. Der Backfisch hat geschmeckt, als käme er direkt frisch aus der Pfanne – schön knusprig und nicht fettig. Besonders der Kartoffelsalat war sehr lecker und auch der Beilagensalat war frisch und geschmacklich top. Die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam. Auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hat für uns absolut gepasst. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können das Lokal für eine gemütliche Mittagspause auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. 👍

Man merkt einfach, dass hier mit Herz gearbeitet wird... Für uns nicht der letzte Besuch! wir kommen sehr gerne wieder aus Coburg! Absolute Empfehlung für alle, die ein richtig gutes Frühstück genießen möchten! ❤️

Delicious breakfast and nice service

Besuchten heute, wie schön des Öfteren dieses Cafe. Wollten es uns draußen gemütlich machen, suchten uns einen Platz aus und waren dabei uns zu setzen, als eine scheinbar sehr „erfahrene Bedienung“ (Mitarbeiterin) uns entgegenlief und uns fragte, ob wir reserviert hätten. Wir verneinten dies und wurden unserer Meinung nach unfreundlich auf ein Schild oberhalb der Eingangstüre verwiesen, man sollte sich erst beim Personal melden bevor man Platz nimmt! Wenn das Schild für die Betreiber so wichtig ist, sollte es dann evtl. auch so platziert werden, das man es gleich sieht, wenn den Außenbereich betritt. Ja, sorry wir waren schon mehrmals hier und suchten uns einfach einen Platz aus, wenn wir nicht reserviert hatten. Auch an diesem Tag beobachteten wir, dass auch viele anderen Gäste kamen und einfach draußen Platz nahmen“! Ein Ehepaar wechselte sogar 3x den Tisch, ohne Kontakt vom bzw. zum Personal. Schade das ein so tolles Ambiente und so gute Speisen die man sich ab und zu mal gönnt durch derartiges Verhalten einer Mitarbeiterin negativ beeinflusst werden. Die jungen Damen, die uns bedienten waren indes freundlich. Vermutlich ist auch diese Erfahrung auf dem leider bestehenden „ Fachkräftemangel“ zurückzuführen. SCHADE..

Tolles Frühstück mit ungewöhnlicher Auswahl. War super lecker, Bedienung war schnell und freundlich. Nicht billig, aber gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!

Nach 6 Jahren (April 2026) nochmal eine Chance gegeben und der Service ist leider immer noch nicht besser. Nach der Bestellung unseres Frühstücks keine Nachfrage als die Getränke leer waren. Die Personen, die neben uns reserviert hatten, sind nach 15 Minuten gegangen, weil sie nicht bedient wurden und nicht mal eine Karte bekommen haben. Essen ist gut, wenn auch teurer, aber der Service weiterhin überfordert. Ursprünglich Rezension: Ich hatte einen Tisch reserviert. Schon das hatte nicht geklappt. Tische waren auch doppelt reserviert, so dass man nicht länger als zwei Stunden bleiben konnte. Essen war gut. Service nicht. Keine Nachfrage, ob man noch was trinken möchte und wenn was bestellt wurde, wurde das neue Getränk zu den leeren Tassen dazu gestellt. Ich verstehe, dass man nicht sofort abräumt, wenn viel los ist, aber am Tisch zu stehen und die alten Tassen und Gläser nicht mitzunehmen. Ein Ding der Unmöglichkeit. Auch auf Nachfrage wurde der Tisch nur zur Hälfte abgeräumt. Aufgrund der misslungenen Reservierung war der Tisch auch nicht wie gewünscht. Für die höheren Preise erwarte ich eindeutig mehr. Nicht nochmal.

Egal wann man kommt, immer super gelauntes Personal. Ob Frühstück oder Mittagessen, alles sehr lecker. Das Tagesgericht wechselt täglich, frisch, originell und mit einem Hauch Oberfranken ist alles dabei. Und wer früh dort ist, probiert den Kaffee mit Ingwer und Milch, schmeckt hammergut, tut gut und ist mal was Neues.

War zum frühstücken dort... der Brotkorb war ein zusammengestückelter Haufen aus kleinen überwiegend Weißbrot Stückchen... mindestens ein Vollkornbrötchen pro Person wäre nicht schlecht...

Leider keine empfehlenswerte Erfahrung. Schon beim Betreten des Cafés wurden wir sehr unfreundlich empfangen, sodass man sich direkt unwohl gefühlt hat. Auch die Kellnerin und das gesamte Servicepersonal wirkten genervt und wenig zuvorkommend. Freundlichkeit gegenüber Gästen sieht definitiv anders aus. Zusätzlich sind die Preise für das, was geboten wird, völlig übertrieben. Insgesamt stimmt hier weder der Service noch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Für uns definitiv kein Laden, den wir weiterempfehlen würden.

Das Essen war hervorragend und gut zubereitet, die Preise waren etwas hoch, aber das war in Ordnung! Die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und haben uns problemlos einen anderen Tisch gegeben, als wir darum baten.

Leider sehr sehr teure Preise, welche für Lichtenfels nicht angemessen sind. Wo soll das noch hinführen?

Ich empfand die Bedienung eher unfreundlich. Natürlich trifft das nicht auf alle Mitarbeiter/innen zu. Ziemlich eng, nicht kinderfreundlich und nach meinem Geschmack unverschämt teuer. Allerdings kann man sich hier im Sommer schön raus setzen und einen Kaffee oder Cocktail genießen... Ganz okay

We had a drink here. The beer was very good and the coffee was also good. The service was very friendly and helpful. Sarti would have been available here as well. He'll be next time. The price was good too. What's particularly worth mentioning is the super clean and beautifully designed place.

We passed by here on our bike tour. Great place, friendly staff, and a good selection of food. What we didn't quite like, however, was that the food wasn't particularly seasoned; the "sauce" tasted very salty. A little more courage, with the spices. 😊

Very delicious, creative breakfast creations. My fish marie was fantastic: scrambled eggs with shrimp, smoked salmon, cream, vegetable sticks, etc. The Moritz Classic was also good, with ham.

I agree with some of the reviews – These are prices you'd find in big cities like Vienna, but with significantly larger portions! The price could also have reflected a bit more spirit in the service – A smile costs nothing!!! All in all, nice, but not worth the price! And especially not with the poor quality of baked goods... before 10 a.m.... when are they fresh then? Two breakfasts + cappuccinos, more than €40 – Something's not right!

I only knew the previous café, as I moved away and don't come here that often anymore. It's been decades since I last visited. This morning, my mother invited me to breakfast there because I'm currently in the country for a few days – and I was really impressed by the modernization! I was initially very impressed by the tent in front of the café, which created a rain-protected yet airy and bright outdoor area – with cozy fur rugs on all the chairs so you don't get a cold bottom outside. 😊 Behind the entrance door, I was greeted by a fairly modern, cozy café, decorated predominantly in pleasant shades of green. Although the café was busy at the time (only a small table for two next to us was still free), the waiter came very quickly and took our order. We were informed that unfortunately, the coffee would take a moment (the employee had to clean something or something, I've forgotten the reason) and were very politely apologized in advance. We didn't have to wait long for both the coffee and the food to arrive – I've waited much longer at other cafes – without any information or apology! 😅 The courteous treatment of the guests here was really very pleasant. The dishes on the other tables were very attractively presented; just looking at them made you really hungry. 🥰 I wasn't very hungry, though, so I ordered the avocado bread with fried eggs, while my mother ordered tiramisu. My crispy toasted avocado bread with fried eggs was very attractively presented and tasted absolutely delicious! I even had a taste of my mother's tiramisu, which was also delicious. At the other tables, a truly substantial breakfast was often served, tastefully arranged on two levels (on a kind of modern tiered stand). A full breakfast like that would definitely have been too much for me today! 😅 In my opinion, the prices here are more than justified for what you get. The quality, quantity, ambiance, and even the service all impressed me. Oh yes! I also visited the (women's) restrooms – the flagship of any restaurant. They are also very tastefully designed, with soft music playing in the background and a pleasant aroma. But above all, everything was really neat and clean, both the area near the sinks and the stalls and toilet bowls themselves (I specifically looked in all three stalls and also in more hidden corners). I suspect the men's restrooms aren't much different. I felt truly comfortable and welcome in this café today, and if I'm ever back in LIF, I'll definitely come back! 🫶🥰

I've been here for breakfast every now and then in the past, and it was always quite nice, and everything was perfect. Unfortunately, the portion sizes have left a lot to be desired lately, and the prices are also completely outrageous for Lichtenfels. The avocado bread costs €16.90!! People..., please!! The rest of the menu isn't any better. I'm really willing to pay a reasonable and appropriate price for quality and good food. We once went to Moritz with the whole family for breakfast, and that day the service seemed to be off to a very bad start; it was very unfriendly (I can only agree with some of the reviews). All in all..., everyone has to decide for themselves.

I went there with my girlfriend, who had invited me. The prices were pretty steep. We opted for the large breakfast for two, which was very filling. There was a bit of everything. There weren't enough bread and rolls, but you could order more. Only the vegetable sticks weren't fresh; they were from the day before. The radish was completely soggy, and the carrots and peppers were already dried out. Hence the deduction and not a full star rating.

It's a shame that "Moritz" is only open in the evenings on special occasions, but I can certainly understand the decision. That doesn't change the fact that the breakfast, cakes, hot meals, and the changing lunch specials are top-notch, and "Moritz" remains my home away from home...

I would like to share my experience at Café Moritz for anyone who is considering hosting a private party there. We have made reservations for a larger family celebration (Easter breakfast) for 72 people, including two babies. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing in several respects: • All children were billed as adults, with the exception of the two babies - although the website advertises reduced prices for children (up to 4 years old is even free). • The so-called “gourmet breakfast” at our private event was not offered for 49.90 euros per person as publicly advertised, but 15 euros more expensive per person - with the argument that more staff were needed for closed events. • The egg dish, which according to the menu is calculated for two people, was only served for 6 to 8 people in total, but was still charged for two people. This means: significantly less performance, but full price – a clear financial advantage for the operator. • We were given a cost estimate in advance which did not make it clear that drinks were not included. Since we were guided by the description of the gourmet breakfast, the surprise was great - and so was the annoyance. Overall, it was an expensive and disappointing experience for us that we cannot recommend. Anyone who relies on the information on the website must expect unpleasant surprises when billing.

Nice café on the market square in Lichtenfels. Pleasant atmosphere, beautifully bright, very quiet inside, you can have a good chat. The breakfast tasted very good and was plentiful. The only point of criticism is that the plates are really very full and you have difficulty using the plate as a place to put bread or rolls. The service is very friendly and accommodating. If you are in Lichtenfels, definitely worth a visit. It's better to make reservations at least on weekends.

We love Café Moritz. We have enjoyed coming here for years. It is very beautiful on site, no matter what time of year you go there and what is on offer is also very good and tasty. The only thing I have to complain about now is the price, I also feel like the food has become less. Now you think twice about whether you go there or not.

Ambience is quite nice, service good 👍 Unfortunately, the food was a bit disappointing, but for the price you could expect a little more freshness. The plates (breakfast) were prepared (probably a day before), which was clearly visible in the vegetables. Unfortunately, the salt sticks were already put into the spreads during preparation, so that they were completely soggy. In addition, we (4 people) didn't like the spread (mango curry and lemon pepper) at all -> but of course that's absolutely a matter of taste. Unfortunately, the cappuccino wasn't as good as we had hoped because it was so hot that it had to be left standing for a while. And last but not least, I would like to mention the price for the still water (carafe): €6.50 for 1 liter (it was probably just tap water, because nothing else was shown on the menu) —> absolutely no go! All in all, I probably wouldn't go there a second time.

We were in Lichtenfels as tourists. Great and varied menu with offers that you can't get everywhere. The quality of the food on offer is good to very good, but the prices are definitely high. We were a bit surprised because there are other places or cities that are associated with higher prices. Since I only have to rate the food, service and ambience, I give it just 4 stars.

We had a very good breakfast here. The Moritz offers a varied selection. We felt very comfortable here in a great atmosphere with very friendly and competent service.

We only had a cold drink. The cleared next table was sprayed with a spray bottle and wiped down. The wind probably caused the atomizer spray to get on my sunglasses that were lying on our table. Unfortunately, it wasn't until the evening that I realized that the entire layer had dissolved when I took one glass. That could only have come from that spray (whatever was in there). Unfortunately, since we were just passing through, I couldn't complain there anymore.

Beginnen wir mit dem Positiven. Den Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern. Ein ganz dickes Lob an diese (und natürlich auch ein Trinkgeld). Die Begriffe Freundlichkeit, Höflichkeit, Beflissenheit sind hier keine Worte sondern werden gelebt. Von der Aufnahme der Bestellung bis zum Servieren. Immer ein Lächeln, kein Augenrollen bei einem extra Wunsch. Wirklich schön. Wo Licht ist, ist auch Schatten. Der beginnt bei der Bestuhlung. Wir saßen im Freien unter dem Vordach. Hier war es so eng, dass man die Gäste am Nebentisch bitten musste zur Seite zu rücken wenn man selbst aufstehen musste. (Und nein. Ich habe keine Adipositas) Weiter geht es mit dem Rauchen. Auch wenn es im Freien ist könnte der Inhaber vielleicht doch mal darüber nachdenken, einen Bereich für Nichtraucher zu markieren. Wenn stinkende Nebelschwaden von Nachbartischen über das eigene Essen wabern, hat das Cafe schnell den Charme einer Pennerkneipe. Über das Essen herrschten Zweigeteilte Meinungen an unserem Tisch. Während die einen meinten die Schnitzel erinnern an alte Schuhsohlen war die Salatfraktion ganz zufrieden. Eventuell ist dies aber auch von der Tagesform des Küchenpersonals abhängig. Zu guter Letzt noch ein Wort zu den Preisen. Gesalzen. Das trifft es am Besten. Leider steht die Qualität der Speisen im Gegensatz zum Preis. Hier sollte eine Anpassung nach unten vorgenommen werden. Wahrscheinlich arbeitet der Inhaber nach dem Motto: So lange der Laden läuft wird abkassiert. Aber wie lange noch? P.S. Eine Alternative ist das Weinhaus "Alter Fritz". Auch nicht billig. Aber von weit besserer Essensqualität.

Rarely eaten so well! Huge portions well prepared. And the taste is a dream! Price wise it's not low budget - but the food is worth the price. The service was TOP. We were there with our two small children and grandmother and we all felt very well served. Many thanks to the whole team - everything from the food to the service was great

Visited often in the past. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is no longer right for me at all. I can't ignore the argument about calculations and increased prices because the other restaurants don't charge €27 for a burger with sweet potato fries. It's a shame.

The atmosphere at the market was nice. The quality of the breakfast was okay, but I wasn't impressed, especially with the portion size. I also found prices for Lichtenfels to be a bit too high. We all found the service to be quite rude and not at all warm. I wouldn't go to Café Moritz again.

We found the café by chance on Google and wanted to try it out. I can only recommend the café to everyone. We were super surprised by the huge selection of different breakfasts. I was able to eat a complete vegan breakfast here. With very tasty hot chocolate with oat milk. And there was a completely vegan breakfast. Everything was freshly prepared and tasted excellent. Only healthy and vegan ingredients. The muesli was also very nicely prepared and left nothing to be desired. The price was also very good. The conditions were also very fast and very friendly. I can only recommend this cafe to everyone. Always my pleasure.

I’m writing this for the manager: teach your waiters to communicate politely with customers. We ordered drinks and then the waitress told us that we had better go to another cafe! Thank you, we had a great meal in another cafe! I've been to your cafe many times before, but now never again.
