Jones Original American Diner in München

If you're a burger fan, definitely go. Great food, great and friendly service, authentic ambience. Highly recommended!

The Jones is a really nice American diner, authentically decorated, we were impressed as soon as we walked in. And everything was very clean and well maintained. The open cooking area is actually nice, but it does cause problems. More on that below. The staff is always super friendly, full marks here too. The food is “good” – not overwhelming but absolutely fine. We've eaten better burgers, but also worse ones by far. Fries were great, the starter plates were a bit very greasy. It's just American, so of course you shouldn't expect bland food ;-) So it fits. Unfortunately there was no dessert, more on that below. The price performance is right, especially when you consider the location in downtown Munich. Regarding prices and the menu, the first point that was very unpleasant. The prices on the online menu differ significantly from the “current” real menu in the restaurant. As written above, the “real” prices are also OK and one should in no way assume intentionality here. The map on the internet is probably simply out of date - but still: something like that really shouldn't happen. The second negative point is the missing or inadequate ventilation. As written, the kitchen is open in the restaurant, but the exhaust system doesn't work at all. We were there quite early, so everything was fine. After the shop filled up and the kitchen got busier, the air became unbearable, despite the windows being tilted at times. We would have liked to stay for a cheesecake or milkshake, but we really couldn't take it any longer and were happy to get out into the fresh air again. These last two points cost you the fifth star - the staff and ambience saved the fourth. So there's room for improvement (literally), correct the menu on the internet, possibly create an online booking option and, above all, update the ventilation system. Then we'd love to come back again.

It was wonderful to escape Germany for a night! The food, atmosphere, and even the amazing service took me right back to the U.S.—such a fun experience!

This is our second time there and we were very happy about the Phillips Cheesestake and were there at 5 p.m. sharp when it opened. We ordered from the waiter, came 5 minutes later and told us that the bread from the P.Cheesestake was gone, he could put them in burger buns for us, of course I wasn't that happy... but what should you do when it's empty, it's empty, I'm just wondering how That can be the case if you are one of the first customers, but that's okay. Came again 5 minutes later and the coleslaw was all gone - my wife would have liked to leave, I didn't want to because the order was probably already being "prepared" and we stayed. Unfortunately it was just too dry on the 2 buns, there was too much bread for little meat. My wife had enormous problems with her eyes while waiting because it burned very badly after frying the onions. You have to remember that all of her clothes and hair really smell like grease because of the open kitchen. At the end all the tables were occupied. You can smell that then of course. Difficult, it's just an open kitchen. The waiter can't help it, he was nice and tried to find a solution, maybe a little suggestion for the owner and other possible customers. First of all we are served. Maybe again sometime.

Staff is polite. Food taste was good(4 stars). They need to get an air conditioning system for indoors, the air in the indoor sitting area is hot and smelly with all the cooking inside.

I came at 20:50 and they said that the kitchen is closed when its supposed to close at 22, if the kitchen close earlier you can put it on internet not that i made a 30 minute way to come here to somebody told me to wait and then said me that they are close when it was not even 21.

Cool little diner run by very nice people! For me, a real feel-good atmosphere. The (open) kitchen also does a mega job with a good selection of dishes. Points deducted only for the lack of an extractor hood, which is probably also due to the open kitchen...we'll be back soon!

service was really good! There were seven of us and we felt very comfortable outside. Venus and Amelie accompanied us through the evening with culinary delights. Started with the crispy and spicy chicken fingers; the special burger of the day - Smash Bürgies. (could have been a bit more smashed) And you know what they call a... a... a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris? The iced tea (peach) was extremely refreshing. And to finish off with a Jones Special Milkshake (with secret ingredient) VG

An authentic restaurant with a diner atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else in Munich and the surrounding area. The food was super tasty, both the burgers and the Philly cheese steaks were pure enjoyment. The cheesecake and hot fudge brownie were the finishing touches. Highly recommended!

It was a place on my wish list for a while and finally had the occasion to go! We were a group of four where my friend called for reservation. They said we could come either at 18.30 or at 20.00 and when we arrived there it was only 2 tables full including ours! Besides that everything else was very good. We ordered 2 sandwiches, 1 normal burger and 1 low carb burger. If you are not on a diet, I’d suggest going for a normal burger! On top of our burgers we ordered 2 milkshakes with chocolate and peanut butter flavors. Milkshake’s taste was like a drop of heaven! The only thing that I didn’t like was the whipped cream on top, in my opinion it just takes the taste of the milkshake behind. Our waiter was super attentive and kind. Our conversation at our table went longer until their closing time and the staff did not rush us at all and were more interested that we are having a good time.

We came here because our son loves citizens and vanilla shake very much. He wanted an American culinary experience. It's definitely very original, but all other community stores are just as original. But what impressed us was the cleanliness of the store, very spacious and airy, it wasn't crowded but I'm sure even when it is full it doesn't feel crowded. The food was good, nothing fantastic, I also thought the prices were ok. Maybe there is a cheaper and tasty alternative somewhere in Munich. But we don't hunt the best, we decide in the moment what tells us more. The service was as it should be, respectful, and our service also responded very well to criticism. All in all, we felt very good as a family. Nowadays all places are overcrowded, overpriced and dirty. It was nice to visit a place like before.

Cozy and nice atmosphere with great service. The food was delicious, unfortunately it didn't blow us away, but the milkshakes were really tasty! Will definitely come here more often.

The service was really nice, like a breath of fresh air in Munich to have such friendly attitude. Strawberry milkshake was really good, not too sweet. Philly Cheese Steak - the beef was a little overcooked but the first bite was heavenly, after the third bite you realize how ungodly greasy it is, to an unappetizing level. Fries - it seemed like they weren’t salted at all, but tasted fresh. The atmosphere was really nice, though the food wasn’t the best(overpriced too for the quality) it was still a great experience.

Best Burger I ate since a long time.

Great experience! Delicious burgers; very friendly staff! We'll be back. The only small negative point was the coleslaw, which could have been a little colder, so it would be a little more refreshing even on warm days.

Excellent selection! The buger was really great, finished super quickly and the team is super nice and super friendly. The portions are just right and the taste is great :) I can recommend the diner to anyone who wants an authentic atmosphere with cool and delicious food. Five out of five stars!

Unfortunately we cannot understand the good reviews. The Philly cheese steak was a total disappointment. I wouldn't recommend it, especially considering the prices. There are several other restaurants that make much better burgers in my opinion.

The best burgers I've eaten in Munich so far! The American flair is great and can be felt everywhere. The seating is also super comfortable :) The service from Mr. Chris was also great. It was my first visit to Jones and I can't wait for the next time.

Super big recommendation, both in terms of the food and the service! Where in Munich you usually have to slide around on your knees if you want a table without a reservation, at Jones we even got a drink on the house as an apology for the wait. We've been there several times now and the food is always amazing. The Philly Cheesesteak is amazing! Thank you for such a great diner with heart in the city 🙏🏼

This diner serves Authentic american sandwiches and sides. The only downside is that it’s located in a rough area - somewhere by hbf . The meals have great portion sizes and the flags are such a cute touch. I love the decorations in the restaurant. I’m an American myself and it reminds me of someplace back home 🇺🇸

Classic American diner with delicious food. The Jones is very centrally located near Munich Central Station. The menu offers a large selection of American classics. Especially finger food classics (chicken wings, onion rings...), sandwiches and burgers, as well as brownies and cheesecake. The service was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is like a diner in America. Unfortunately the ventilation is not that good. It is cooked and fried in the room. That's why all your clothes smell like food afterwards. The food came to the table hot and was beautifully presented. They tasted great. The portions were very large. Definitely worth a visit!

The three of us spontaneously got a table on Sunday evening. The feeling was like an old American diner. We ordered the Philly cheese steak (with hot sauce), grilled chicken burger and a vegan burger. It was my first time eating a Philly cheese steak and I thought it was delicious. The portion was very large and just the right dish for cheese lovers. The grilled chicken burger is said to have been grilled to perfection, the vegan burger was rather unspectacular. Fries are frozen “steak” fries. Salt was missing, but other than that you can't go wrong with these. Unfortunately, you smell like fat after eating. This smell of grease clings everywhere to clothing and the body. Unfortunately the trigger is not as strong as it should be. Conclusion: Would come back again for a burger and dessert, but would prefer to take away. Otherwise the diner didn't blow me away.

Were visiting with a bachelorette party. Ms Lilly served us that evening. The ambience is really nice, just like you would imagine an American diner to be. The service was really super nice. She happened to notice that one of us had recently had a birthday and surprised the person with a piece of American brownie. The food was very tasty, there was no one who didn't like it. The diner is highly recommended!

You get a really nice welcome and the service in general is great. Very good ambience with suitable music. Food is also impeccable. All in all, the restaurant gives the right feeling of America 👍🏻

Nice shop with the right atmosphere. So typical old American diner. The burgers, hot dog and Philly Chesse sandwich were quite good. Unfortunately, the problem is that when the store is full the waitresses can no longer keep up. So plan for some rest during rush hour.
