One of my absolute favorite spots in Munich! Great burger, especially the veggie chicken is unbeatable. It simply doesn't exist in Munich. Sides are also great and the location and staff simply put you in a good mood. Absolute recommendation!

Simply the best chicken sandwich I've ever eaten. As an American, I miss good fried chicken in Germany - you can get it here. Update: they've moved a few times now. Still top class. It’s also worth a visit to “Melrose”, their new sandwich place.

If you have a lot of time and patience while waiting, you will be rewarded with (in my opinion) a really good burger!☝🏼10/10!! The service is also very friendly! :)

If someone is looking for something special to eat and doesn't feel like going to the “SchickiMicki Restaurant” they will find it here... I always enjoy coming here and eating the best burgers and chicken sandos anywhere!! If you don't feel happy while eating here, you don't understand "enjoyment" ☝🏽

In my opinion the best smash burgers in Munich. Small shop with benches and long tables. You often have to wait in line for a relatively long time.

The burger and fries are really great. However, the concept is not really great for the customer. After waiting 15 minutes in line to get a seat (no reservation possible), you can stand in the next 15 minute line to order food. Afterwards you can wait at your seat until the food comes. You can also get normal drinks with self-service at the bar. The tables in the back corner aren't exactly inviting either.

Tastier burgers - but the hype isn't quite worth the long wait for self-service...! - Reservation is not possible. BEWARE of people pushing ahead in the queue in the entrance area!!! Saturday evening around 6:20 p.m. the waiting time at the entrance was 20 minutes. We then had to wait in line for another 15 minutes to place our order. The food came after another 15 minutes. Waiting time from start of employment to meal at the table: 50 minutes! The “Classic” burgers and the “Big Burger with Chipotle?” were very tasty and actually play in the top league of Munich in terms of taste! The meat was particularly well seasoned! The classic fries were really crispy but with little salt. The parmesan garlic fries are something different but not worth the extra charge. Drinks are offered from US imports - great idea and a change at the same time :) We were sufficiently full and satisfied. Portion sizes were well chosen. In total we paid a little over €42 for 2x burgers, 2x fries + 1 drink. Not really cheap, but not too expensive either. (The tip of up to 20% on the EC device is cheeky in a self-service restaurant!) If it weren't for the long wait, we would definitely come back. Unfortunately the toilets were completely filthy. The blame doesn't fall solely on FairfaxExpress, as the local bars + restaurants share the same toilet facility.

Unfortunately we were rather disappointed... We were there at 8:30 p.m. and we were told at the entrance that we were the last ones to get smash burgers and when we were standing in line for food, the waiter came to us again and said it looked bad because the chef wasn't interested has more. We then had to eat chicken sandwiches (garlic Parmesan fries were already out). Food was okay, fries and chicken were crispy, but it just wasn't what we wanted and it still didn't blow us away (as promised). The ambience was cool but the separate queuing for food and drinks was also annoying. A pity!!!!

It took a bit of a long time to wait, so you should definitely allow at least 30 minutes to wait. Aside from that, the bacon smash burger was absolutely fantastic. I think it borders on perfection in terms of taste. Overall it's worth it on for a visit.

Ok ok, 4.4 rating for this place is way under rating ! This should be at least 4.8 or above, the -0.2 is because not opening for more hours ! As carnivores 😂, this is the best burger i have had in a very long time. Everything was done to a perfection. Despite the long queue, it is worth it for every single minute. This should not be labeled as best burger in munich, this should be labeled best burger in Europe ! Finally, i would add this place as must visit in munich beside all the touristic sites, and the hop on hop off bus should stop here for people to try at least once in their life time. Excellent chicken sandwich, best I have had outside of the US. Smash burger also very good. Portion sizes very generous for the price, especially the tots or fries. Only critic is the lack of options for drinks, otherwise very highly recommend. I will for sure be adding it to my list of places to keep coming back to.

I was at an event here in the evening. There was no food so I can't say anything about that. But I thought the location with the associated outdoor area was great.

The place can be packed of people, with long lines during weekends, but the food is good. I’ve tried only the burgers, which are so good! “Even” the vegetarian one was good too! (I am not vegetarian but it was surprisingly good and tasty for me). The crunchy chicken burger with Korean spice sauce was amazing too.

Had some fantastic burgers here. Place is inside the same space as Monaco Ramen (the space also has a counter that sells some bottled beers and other non-alcoholic drinks). We tried both the Louisiana Chicken Sandwich and the Bacon Smashed Burger. Both were very good. The chicken sandwich had a thick, juicy slice of chicken, and was actually pretty spicy. The breading they use to fry the chicken was very well done. The smash burger had two "smashed" burger patties and a few crispy bacon slices. The bacon felt a tiny bit dryer than what I've had, but that could be because it seemed deep fried. The burger meat was perfectly done. Yummy food and a pretty fun atmosphere. Would recommend.

Way too many people. Have to stand in a long and hot queue to get in, then sit on cramped, uncomfortable seats - it's almost expected that you eat quickly and then leave. The food arrived very quickly, and tasted great! The tater tots are highly recommended!

We ate there for the first time yesterday and loved it. Shortly after 6 p.m. there was almost no waiting time and the ordering process went very quickly. We paid just under €52 for a Chipotle and Nasty Burger with fries, as well as a root beer and the White Choc Pistachio Shake. This is “ok” for Munich standards. But the food was very tasty! Definitely coming back!

You should try it if you like Smashburger - burger was great. However, it would also be nice if you could only choose 1 patty. They're probably all doubles. Accordingly, all around €11. Definitely pricey. I first tried a chicken sandwich. It was pretty damn spicey, but it won't be the last. The Garlic/Parmesan Fries also warn very well.

I’m a big fan of fried chicken sandwiches/ burgers and have eaten at Fairfax 5 or 6 times now. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich is so good (but quite spicy!) and the tater tots and fries are amazing. My husband really likes the smash burgers but I found them a bit too rich so prefer the chicken. I also find the prices and portions really reasonable for Munich. It’s hard to find good fast or street food in Munich sometimes this really hits the spot. There is often a line but if you go a bit early you might be able to just walk in. Would love a couple of lighter sides other than the slaw on the menu in the future.

Burgers of 10, modern place and quite moderate price for what Munich is. Ultra recommended. 💶 Price per person: €16 Order: 🍽️ Classic double cheeseburger (€11.5): delicious. Simple, juicy and 10. 🍽️ Sweet heat sandwich (€11.5): Slightly spicy fried chicken burger. The amazing chicken. Thick, tender and with a very crunchy batter. I think I would order a different chicken sandwich but if you fancy spicy it's not a bad option. 🍽️ Potatoes with garlic and parmesan (€7): spectacular.

The Burger is okay but very very salty, like after it you will feel you need a barrel of water 😂 Service is also very basic. For the price of one burger without fries which is 12€ to 16€ I expected much more. Many other burger Joints with better flavor and well priced than this place

Good burger & very good fries. The burger was a bit dry (ordered without sauce, to be fair). The meat is already extremely mashed, which is perfect on the edges, but very dry in the middle. The bread could also be a little fluffier and butterier. Plus, without sauce, a second slice of cheese would probably be perfect. The fries and service are perfect! We were there on Friday around 6 p.m. so that the wait wouldn't take too long. 😆 We ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, the Classic Smashburger and fries with parmesan and garlic. I was hoping that the Smashburger would be juicy, so I was rather disappointed that it wasn't. The meat was dry and a little harder on the outside due to the long roasting. Difficult to describe, but the taste is okay. It took me a little longer to finish it. However, the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was the complete opposite! The taste was hot, spicy, slightly sour and sweet, which harmonized very well with the meat. This burger was also very juicy and very tasty! You'll feel very full afterwards. Definitely try it out! The portion of fries with parmesan and garlic was very tasty and large. The staff on site was very attentive and friendly

The colesslaw was too sour, the chilli one too spicy. Vegetarian option, but nothing for gluten free options. The fries were good and big portions.

Mega concept! Delicious burgers! And the Fried Mac & Cheese balls were awesome! Unfortunately it is very loud and noisy in there.

This is one U.S. burger joint to the core. It offers the basics: smashed burgers and chicken sandwichs. Basics but amazing. The place is opened only in the evenings and there s always a crowd, but it s totally worth it. Pass by for a pure american dinner burger experience with U.S. soda on the side to make the whole experience great.

I know Smash Burgers and have been cooking and eating them since 2012. These are real Smash Burgers (ultra-crispy, but still juicy) and very tasty. I wouldn't change anything about the food (although the chipotle sauce makes it a little harder for the meat and cheese to shine through). You can discuss prices, but everything has become more expensive now and quality just costs. The buns are delicious, the portions are VERY generous (a smash burger + parmesan fries + a drink are more than enough to probably keep you full all day). And everything looks appealing and Instagrammable (if you're into that). The only negative point would be that you can't enjoy it outside, but that's probably not the fault of the Fairfax team. Can't wait to try a Chicken Sando - I love making and eating them too, but it's way too much effort for 1-2 sandwiches at home. Chipotle Smash: 9.3/10 Garlic (actually pesto with an extreme amount of garlic?) Parmesan Fries: 10/10 A&W Root Beer: um... a generous 6.5/10? Tastes... American. Next time I'll just buy a Dr. Pepper or Mt Dew Edit: even though I was full, I also ate a Fried Mac and Cheese Ball at home Fried Mac and Cheese Balls: 9/10 Ranch: 11/10

Interesting concept with Asian and American (fast food) cuisine. Very tasty in terms of taste. But it makes sense to make a reservation because it gets very full quickly.

Not worth the hype. Smashburger tastes good but unfortunately the chicken burger and the fillet parts weren't good. We had to finish eating afterwards because it tasted strange. Fries are average. The milkshake is ok, but also very powerful. You have to like that. Waiting in line for 23 minutes and then having stomach problems, I don't know if I would recommend it.

A great experience. Service is fast at the front of house however the cooking and pick can take quite some time. Food is amazingly delicious so worth the wait.

Incredible chicken burgers, by far the best in Munich! I mean Sweet Heat and the Korean Chickenburger, both the number 1 chicken burgers in Munich. Nashville Hot and Original are also very good, but not on the level of the other two.

This time we had the smash burger. My personal opinion: Good for Munich, OK overall. It just wasn’t “easy” enough for me. The fries were great. The chicken sandwich, however: Very good!

The food is very good for both vegetarian and meat options. Coleslaw is very vinegary and no one I know liked it, for the garlic fries, they are using fresh garlic I think and doesn't taste the best imo, would definitely go for tater tots or normal fries instead. There is a bar next to it and the only thing separating them is one door which constantly gets open, so if you are near that door you will constantly hear the music from there, mixing with the music from Fairfax and making it impossible to talk.

Overall disappointing, especially compared to the old location. Waiting time was okay, it wasn't too busy. There's hardly any service to rate, it's basically self-service, but the staff was friendly. The food (sweet heat sandwich + tater tots) was very bland, chicken but nice and juicy and crispy on the outside. But really boring in terms of taste. Beer 0.33l for €4 hard even for Munich. The ambience is horrible, wobbly table in an industrial hall with no charm. Sat directly behind the kitchen island in the dark passage. The entire concept doesn't really seem inviting and you don't feel welcome as a guest. The food falls short of expectations and previous experiences, but at the same time it is far too expensive. Unfortunately no longer recommended.

Unfortunately disappointing. As one of the few restaurants that offer smash burgers, I expected more. The meat was neither crunchy nor juicy, apart from being way too salty. Maybe it's because there was a little more going on that day.

The food was pretty good, especially the garlic parmesan fries. The only negative is the long queue and long wait for food.

I had to wait in line for 25 minutes before I was even allowed into the restaurant. Then I had to wait 50 MINUTES for a single cheese smash burger, which I wasn't even allowed to eat inside because I apparently wasn't worth taking up a table for two on my own, even though I also offered to share the table. The best thing was that I wasn't even allowed to eat outside because the tables were apparently occupied, so after waiting in line for about an hour and a half I had to look for a place on the Isar and on top of that the burger was really sparingly occupied. I never actually write reviews and when I do only write positive ones, but today was really a disgrace!

Really good fries with a solid burger. However, we waited approx. 50 minutes for our food and since you are sitting next to the ‘kitchen’ you are gonna smell it afterwards.

The food was subpar, everything was extremely greasy, even for a fast food place. I immediately felt sick after 🤢we also had to wait in line for half an hour and the service was also bad. I’d say you’re better off going to Five guys in the Altstadt. I’m really sad. I had a lot of hopes for this one. But it seems it was overhyped. On the day we went they were also missing half their menu and were not serving any vegetarian, chicken or Bacon options.

The hype about the Smash Burgers is justified: the best Smash Burger in MUC - they are really amazing. Juicy and well seasoned, well topped, but you can still taste the meat pleasantly. The slightly chipotle burgers are a little more intense and spicy thanks to jalapeños. As side dishes you can choose between classic fries, garlic parmesan fries and tater tots (mini croquettes). All three are very tasty, but my favorite were the Garlic Parmesan Fries. The only disadvantages I could find were the somewhat uncomfortable atmosphere (it's a food court in the Gasteig) and the rather long waiting time. But that doesn't detract from it, it's currently the best burger in Munich.

We came on Saturday evening at a reasonable time and had to wait for over half an hour outside in the cold in a queue. After waiting for that long, a waitress finally comes outside and says that for half of the line they are out of burgers out of the blue. Since the line had not moved even by a meter since the beginning, they could have spared the wait and told us earlier. Nevertheless, we had to leave afterwards. Horrible customer service from that point of view. I would recommend to check out other places if you do not want to spend 30 minutes looking at other people eating. There are countless great places for a burger in Munich, so check out one of those instead.

Best burger in Munich. The waiting time on Friday would be 40-60mins but it was worth it. You might have to share table with others if you don’t mind. You need to order at the counter and they will deliver to your table once it’s finished. We had the most popular dishes. The spicy chicken burger is really spicy… with two chili level at least. In the same place, it has the ramen restaurant which looks delicious as well. Highly recommend!

The ppl running this place doesn’t know what the term “fast food” means. I was there with 3 other friends and we had to wait around 25 mins for our orders to be delivered. I spent 20 euros + tip on a classic burger, some fries and a soda. In my opinion, this is a very overpriced burger. The taste was ok but nothing worth the price tag, there are definitely better options in Munich. The restaurant has a greasy smell, and the places to sit are limited. I would appreciate if they could expand the dining area to the exterior, that way the frying odour wouldn’t bother the customers. I left smelling like burger. The staff were pleasant although we didn’t interact that much. Overall, I would rate the burgers as regular, not bad nor good. The price range is high for the value they deliver. The waiting times should be improved, there’s no reason to delay a burger for more than 20 mins.

I ordered the Classic Smash Burger and the Sweet Heat Sandwich. The smash burger was really, really good! Unfortunately the Sweet Heat Sandwich was just sweet and very oily. However, the chicken was still tasty.

Very cool restaurant with excellent food. The garlic parmesan fries were particularly delicious. Overall, the burgers are more of a 5/10 for the price, as the smash burgers (€11.50) are really very small and you can hardly get enough of one. Nevertheless, I would recommend the store and accept the long waiting time.

Wow!!! Really blew us away. The burger was by far the best burger I have ever eaten. Exceptionally great. The chicken pieces with the different sauces are also almost addictive... The croquettes, the mac & cheeseballs, coleslaw - perfect! The half hour queuing time was well spent!! Keep it up!

Burgers are below expectations. All tastes very similar, original sandwich, smashed burger and fried mac and cheese. Quality for the money is well below expectations. Marketing very good though. If for burgers opt in for 5 guys instead.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE & SMASH BURGERS!!! Definitely the place in Munich for you to get smash burgers. I did not try any of their chicken burgers yet but I also heard that they were good. I came at around 18.30 on a typical Tuesday and there was no queue so we went inside and the staff showed us to our table. They basically have two restaurants inside the place, one sells Ramen and a few other Japanese food items while the other one is Fairfax Express. The moment you come in, you will be able to immediately smell the amazing aroma of the patties being grilled so be prepared to feel even more hungry before eating it! I ordered the Classic Smash Burger with fried and a Bacon Smash Burger also with fries. The only difference between both of them were the bacon but both of them were good, and the fries were also amazing! The patties were tasty, juicy, and well cooked, the buns were soft and the grilled onions add to flavor nicely. It was probably one of the best smash burgers I have ever tasted so far. Great experience overall and would definitely recommend it to you people who are looking for a place to eat smash burgers in Munich. A side note is that, when I was done eating and came out of the restaurant at around 19.30, there was a very long queue in front of the door so it may be wise to come a bit earlier for dinner so you won’t beed to queue too long. WORTH YOUR TIME!

Can't keep up with the hype - maybe just too much for her. Unfortunately the chicken burger didn't work for me. + Smashburger was very good + hot is also hot - hot chicken burger was very spicy - Hot chicken burger nr1 was not cooked through and was returned. That's why I'm lying flat today! - Chicken on it (on nr2) is a large chicken breast - meat/breading ratio wasn't that great - wait: queue outside (already a long queue at 6:30 on Wednesday evening), then queue again inside to order food, then again extra for drinks (0.33 Helles for €4) - Service: smashburger came 15 minutes before the chicken burger, so sharing a meal was not possible. Then American tip request when paying by card at the counter (just leave it) - Sitting: shared benches filled like in a beer garden In summary: unfortunately it wasn't worth it for my upset stomach due to half-raw chicken.

Don't know if this still qualifies as an insider tip. But it's worth every visit. Great drinks and really good food! Update 2024: Smash Burgers are now permanently available - and they are truly excellent! I would say they can compete with the best I know from the USA.

Had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and the fries which were very good. I didn’t have to wait long for my food to be brought to my table. The ambiance is ok, it is packed at times and a bit too loud for my liking. It is a place where you eat and go rather than staying an additional 20-30 minutes after finishing with eating. As far as I know card payment only.

Perfect ratio of all flavors in the smash burger! Everything tastes very perfect. Even though it's always very busy, you can get your food relatively quickly! For me the burger is a 9.3/10

I've been to the USA several times and you just have to say that this great shop even does it better in some ways! Really great, it's worth queuing for 30 minutes and if you really want to go faster, just say you want to take it with you. This is also due to bad pictures this time

Great experience! The smash burger was great - definitely something different. Decent portion, the burger and side dish fill you up well. It is particularly worth mentioning that I had an extra request that was not a given regarding an allergy. The guys from Fairfax fulfilled my wish very courteously and conscientiously so that I could eat with them - I felt very well looked after, great service!!

Avid fan since day 1 as Fairfax was still a foodtruck at Park Cafe. Love their nashville and korean chicken burger. Now even a bigger fan since they have smash burger as regular menu. There’s a bit line now at the new restaurant, but great things take time, so don’t let it scare you😉. Smash burger and the garlic parmesan fries make it worth the wait. Simple menu yet very packed flavour!

The food is extraordinary! The menu is simple and filled with heavy hitters. The chicken is extremely tender and juicy and the loaded fries are amazing. The owners are very welcoming and the food is cooked really fast. I can definitely recommend visiting Fairfax Express, as it offers an authentic southern cuisine experience and great atmosphere.
