Our stay was fantastic. We have never felt as well looked after as at the Bayerwaldhof. We celebrated our silver wedding anniversary there.
Mr. Weiss, the hotel director, is a very dynamic, friendly, and very nice person. He lives and breathes the hotel business. He puts his heart and soul into it. We would like to thank him again for everything. The Mühlbauer family will be returning hosts.
I myself have lactose and fructose intolerance. Every care was taken to ensure my well-being. I didn't experience any reactions. Thanks to the outstanding kitchen crew for this excellent execution. My husband is a chef himself and thought the food was fantastic. The breakfast buffet is also a dream. The spa is very spacious and has a separate entrance for adults only. There are plenty of relaxation areas, and the sauna infusions are highly recommended. The massages were excellent. Our room (suite) was a dream. We will be back. Thanks to all the Bayerwaldhof team for everything.
We stopped by for coffee; the extensive selection of cakes is overwhelming, even for seasoned cake lovers.
The ambiance is great, and the covered terrace, thanks to its patio heaters, is also recommended during the colder months.
You should definitely reserve a table, even during the week!
There is plenty of parking nearby.
We would love to come back and try the excellent food.
There are several well-signposted hiking trails.
The food is good, the prices for pizza are quite high 17-20 eur. Not sure if pizza itself cost so much, but I agree with other comments that the service is terrible. There are two waiters: young and middle age ladies. The young one behaves very arrogant. We were waiting for only antipasti for ca 40 minutes. The middle age waiters seems nicer, but it looks like she is also bothered by the young one. With a such rudeness and so long waiting times, pizza in restaurant cannot cost this money.
The sushi was very tasty. The prices were a bit on the high side. It's very cramped inside and unfortunately drafty; because the door was constantly being opened to air out the place, I unfortunately caught a cold the next day.
A good kebab. The bread is especially delicious: crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. It's preheated in a stone oven, so it tastes like it's home-baked.
You can choose between veal and chicken - the meat is cooked thoroughly and still juicy.
The kebab could have been a bit more filling.
The sauce is good - but could be improved. It needs a bit more seasoning.
Overall, though, a highly recommended kebab.
The ambiance is uninviting and somewhat run-down - the service, on the other hand, is very friendly, courteous, and quick.
The price is reasonable for the location in Cologne: I paid €11 for a kebab with a drink.
I'd be happy to go back.
Asem!
A name worth remembering. I've never been so well looked after by a waiter. Even though I was there with my parents, I briefly thought Asem could be my mother, he looked after me so warmly. The food was also outstanding, and I was incredibly full. See you again 👌🏻
The pulled pork burger was unfortunately a disappointment. The meat was ice cold and the burger's composition wasn't very convincing. It simply lacked flavor.
The poutine was okay.
The ambiance is very nice, although some tables were left dirty.
Compared to a few years ago – I had very fond memories of the ambiance and food here – it has unfortunately deteriorated considerably. While the ambiance has remained the same, the food is unfortunately no longer a reason for me to visit the Canadian Hut.
