A very nice and calm restaurant outside the centre of Berlin. Great food and very friendly treatment. Warmly recommended. And also easy to get to. The metro 2 (to Ruhleben), get off at Sophie-Charlotte Platz. Then a 10 minutes walk.

The most wonderful meal and adorable host. Having seen such glowing reviews on Tripadvisor we decided to venture out and make the effort to visit and so glad that we did. A small but perfectly formed handwritten menu, a spotlessly clean and cozy unpretentious setting with service that was warm and sincere. Quite frankly the best meal we’ve had not just in Berlin but in any of our city breaks since 2018.

There’s a reason this restaurant is rated so highly. The menu is limited and changes daily ( I think) so we reviewed what the options were beforehand —I chose pumpkin soup and duck breast, my girlfriend a beet salad and roast beef. Everything was prepared and plated well. Portions were generous. The food was absolutely delicious. Prices are very reasonable and significantly less than what we would have spent back home for a comparable meal. I only wish I have something similar in my NYC neighborhood!

The meat is really tasty and prepared just right, the spices and sauces go together perfectly. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed, neither too loud nor too quiet, just right. We booked this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. It was superb. Fantastic service including a handwritten menu and when we said we’d like a bottle of red, 3 bottles were presented to us to choose from. Food was delicious. We had the carrot and ginger soup and homemade spring rolls for starters, followed by the duck and pork mains. We would highly recommend this intimate, neighbourhood restaurant. Don’t hesitate to book!

Really fantastic, an absolute insider tip. We were nearby and looked for a restaurant with German cuisine and ended up at Buschbeck's. I haven't eaten so well in a long time. A reduced card without any frills, but at the highest level of craftsmanship. We had carrot and ginger soup and vitello tonnato as a starter. The soup was sweet, spicy (both not too...) and very well seasoned. And I have never had a Vitello Tonnato like this, even from a good Italian restaurant. The main dishes were Matjes and Duroc. She ate both of them as they were. The Duroc side dishes alone, potatoes and zucchini, were so incredibly tasty that a whole plate would have been enough. So, clear recommendation!!!!! We'll definitely be back.

A small, very nice and very good restaurant in Berlin. It's hard to find, but if you've been there, you'll come back every time you visit. It is run by a married couple (he in the kitchen and she in the restaurant). The food is excellent👍👍 both the starters and the main courses. We'll be back, even if it's 450 kilometers 😅

We visited this place in February to try German food, the service was incredible, good conversation (English) and the dinner was delicious. At the end they gave us a gooseberry drink to try, I think, whatever they order is delicious!! Schedule your visit in time. If I went back to Germany, I would definitely come back here. This place is friendly to foreigners and is greatly appreciated. Greetings from Mexico.

A modest yet neat interior. Friendly staff/host. Very quiet area. The food was excellent: my girlfriend had pork cheeks, I chose duck. The meat was tender, with the top notch gravy. In both cases with delicious mashed potatoes and zucchini. Desserts were great as well, I can highly recommend especially tartufo with amaretto. Overall great culinary experience :)

Restaurante com poucas mesas, máximo 10/12 mesas. Necessita reserva embora quando estivemos lá, mais de 50% estavam desocupadas. Comida maravilhosa desde a entrada até a sobremesa. O “chef” é o dono e sua esposa faz todo o resto - drink, serve a mesa, abre o vinho, enfim tudo, e de quebra varreu a entrada do salão. Muitíssimo simpática. Estacionamento não é muito fácil a frente é gratuito. Recomendo.

Ele, na cozinha. Comida típica alemã. Entrada, pratos principais e sobremesa, tudo delicioso. Comemos pato e bochecha de porco - deliciosos. Sobremesa sorvete de vanila, creme típico alemão e calda de frutas vermelhas. O local é tão intimista que o cardápio é escrito à mão.

Spotted on GoogleMaps during our trip to Berlin but when mentioned to two different sets of acquaintances, they both said that it was very good. We were wonderfully surprised by the excellent quality of our meal. Tasty and lighter than it might seem. All topped by the hospitality and service. Absolutely recommended.

We ate here as we were looking for an authentic German meal and this restaurant had excellent reviews. It is very easy to get to by ubahn, alight at Sophie and 5/8 minutes walk. We chose asparagus soup and beetroot salad for starters followed by pork steak and roast chicken, both accompanied by mashed potato and courgette. All delicious. Our total bill including 2glasses of merlot and a bottle of pellegrino was €77.50. Excellent value for excellent food.

Perfect food and service! We were 7 people and everyone was very satisfied with both the starters, the main courses and the dessert. Everything is simply excellent. The restaurant belongs to a couple, the husband cooks and the wife hosts and does so kindly and pleasantly. Pleasant and inviting atmosphere. A must for visitors to Berlin

Very tasty and highly recommended! Don't pay attention to the surroundings, but the quality of food and friendliness of the owners are star-worthy. The food is fresh, special flavors, quality of meat and everything together perfect. Quantity was great too. Price and quality ratio is actually too low in price. Simple surroundings and ordinary people with brilliant food.

We went here for a birthday celebration. What a gorgeous little place! It's a bit off the beaten track on a residential street, so feels very local. The ambience was cosy, the food was delicious (we had the carrot and orange soup with ginger and the roast chicken with mash and green salad, which were both to die for) and our waitress was lovely, smiley and attentive. I even got a candle on my pudding! If you want something non touristy and authentic with great food, we would highly recommend this place!

A hidden gem with a well earned five stars. Tucked away in the pretty and affluent Charlottenberg area, Bushbecks is a cosy nook serving up traditional German meals. Probably some of the best food I’ve had in my life! I had the chicken breast and mash and the flavours were exquisite. Good wine and drinks choices and super attentive staff who had a lovely conversation with us ! Thank you , from Liverpool !

Auch die Chefin war super nett und bemüht immer präsent zu sein. Das einzige, was mir nicht so gefallen hat, war die Inneneinrichtung. War mir zu wenig Wohlfühlcharakter. Aber dafür gibt es keinen Punktabzug. Schließlich waren wir des Essen wegen hier. Wir kommen wieder!

Buschbecks is off the beaten track, but the track needs to be beaten. Proof if it were needed that you don’t have to be a Michelin-starry behemoth to be one of the very best places to eat in the whole of Berlin. The food is honest, homemade and speaks volumes about the care that went into it. This is not oom-pah German caricature food, it’s proper German cuisine and its plate-clearingly lovely. Ariane is a superb host and this tiny place, full of charm, deserves its place at the very top of the pile.

The food was really delicious, I would definitely recommend it. Unfortunately, the service was unfriendly and not at all flexible when it came to our needs as a family with a small child. For example, it was impossible to get boiled potatoes, even though puree was on the menu, and it was also not possible to serve part of the fish dish on a separate plate because then you would have to cut up the beautiful fillet, so we ordered an extra fish dish ( 26 euros!!), only to find out at the end that the fillet was served on the plate in 3 pieces?!!! The highlight was that there was no place to change diapers. Absolutely not recommended for families, which surprises me in this area. When it comes to prices, you want appropriate behavior towards customers. We won't eat here again.

Dies ist ein kleines, gemütliches Restaurant mit einer sehr netten Bedienung (Ehefrau des Kochs). Die Karte wechselt wohl täglich, es gab handgeschriebene Menuvorschläge, nicht alltägliche Gerichte. Wir waren alle drei mit unseren Essen zufrieden, Vorspeise und Dessert standen auf Tafeln. Sehr gut!

Mi pareja y yo visitamos Berlín por unos días. Para el día de su cumpleaños, queríamos cenar en un restaurante local de comida típica. No podíamos haber hecho mejor elección. El trato es excelente, al igual que la comida. Si estás buscando un restaurante de comida alemana, tranquilo y alejado de todo el ajetreo del centro, este es tu lugar. La dueña/camarera nos ayudó con la traducción del menú y nos recomendó algunos platos. Personalmente recomiendo el pato, está exquisito! Gracias por todo!

Seit Jahren ist das Buschbecks für uns eine feste Anlaufstelle, wenn wir in Berlin sind. Bei jedem Besuch wurden wir mit hervorragend zubereiteten Speisen verwöhnt. Die Art der Zubereitung reicht von international (z.B. mediterran) bis regional. Zutaten wie Zucchini oder Grünkohl findet man dann auf der Speisekarte, wenn sie saisonbedingt bei uns vorkommen. Phantasievoll und variantenreich setzt der Koch, gleichzeitig der Ehemann der sehr sympathischen Servicekraft, seine kreativen Ideen in der Küche um. Besonders bemerkenswert war für uns, dass Frau Buschbeck einem mexikanischen Paar die Speisekarte äußerst kompetent auf englisch erläutern konnte. Abschließend ein Tipp für alle, die mindestens zu zweit im Buschbeck essen wollen: Sowohl bei den Vor- als auch bei den Hauptspeisen sollte man unterschiedliche Gerichte wählen. So kann man sich gleichzeitig von mindestens zwei verschiedenen Gerichten überzeugen und sich darüber hinaus für den nächsten Besuch inspirieren lassen. Für unseren nächsten Berlin-Besuch wird mindestens ein Abend im Restaurant Buschbeck geblockt.

We went with high expectations because the reviews were so good. It opened promptly at 6 p.m. in the pouring rain and the heating was probably turned on shortly beforehand. Yes, heating costs have to be saved, it wasn't pleasant. The starter was Asian and OK. The sweet and spicy sauce tasted a bit like a store-bought bottle! There was no draft beer! Give me a bottle of beer! Duck leg would have needed another half hour in the oven. The kale was...neutral, very neutral! Like the sauce: little taste. The lamb goulash with mashed potatoes was good, no question! The service attentive and friendly. Conclusion: We weren't disappointed, nor were we thrilled. Somewhere inbetween. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to come back!
