A very good restaurant with a diverse wine selection. There are four different set menus, including a vegetarian option. However, the set menus are not mandatory; everything can also be ordered separately. The excellent service staff will assist you with your selection. The dishes offer a cross-section of Austrian cuisine of very high quality. Parking is limited, so a table reservation is recommended.

I really liked the location; we had our meal in an area below the dining room. The food was good and beautifully presented. I probably have a misconception about Austrian cuisine, but the food offered was too expensive for me, and the prices reflected that. A great four-course meal. Worth a visit. Reservations recommended.

The restaurant itself was quite noisy. For starters, I had the rigatoni with white veal bolognese. It was delicious, but for €19, there were only seven pieces of rigatoni, which I don't think is fair. For my main course, I had Wiener Schnitzel with a world-class potato salad. However, even the Wiener Schnitzel was almost too thin. And then for dessert, the sweet scrambled eggs (Kaiserschmarrn). We tried it twice and left it untouched. The head waitress cleared it away without a word, even though it was clear we hadn't touched it. Since I work in the restaurant industry myself, I don't think this behavior is right. Especially as head waitress, you should ask if everything is alright and then offer a new dessert or something similar. At the end, she asked us if everything was okay, and I replied, "Except for the Kaiserschmarrn." Unfortunately, there was no response, not because I was eager to get something for free, but because it was simply unprofessional. Very unprofessional, unfortunately.

"The Trap" Honestly, our last night in Germany was a disappointment. The atmosphere was okay. There weren't even tablecloths on the tables. But the worst part is going with children; they have nothing for them, and they charge you the same as an adult even if you only eat one dish. Aside from the food, there were five of us, and we all thought the same thing. If this is an example of Austrian food, it's a very bad example. The taste and presentation were simple and bland, nothing to write home about. You can eat the same thing in any German city for half the price. I actually read the reviews, and they just make me think they're related to the chef. There's really nothing that would make you go to this restaurant!

The food was great and the atmosphere very inviting. The whole thing was topped off by the fantastic hostess, who not only recommended suitable and delicious drinks, but above all made us feel very welcome. We had the five-course home-style menu. The individual dishes were plentiful and varied. We'd love to come back.

We were there at the opening and were already impressed. After a somewhat longer break (it just didn't really work out due to our lifestyle), we returned and enjoyed it again. The food, the drink selection—everything was top-notch! The service is very professional; it could be a bit more open and approachable, but okay... for those not from the Rhineland, the mentality might be a bit strange. Otherwise, good value for money, and you get the feeling you're seeing something completely different on the menu—even if the next trip to Kitzbühel is still a while away.

A fantastic experience! Two days in advance, I called the fully booked restaurant and requested a table for three, and they arranged a fantastic experience for me. Despite a last-minute reservation, we were seated in the vault (unique). The service, as well as the food, were 10/10. As the son of an Austrian chef, I can clearly say it was perfect!

It was a culinary feast. I had invited business clients in March after a long day of skiing. The Kaiserschmarrn, Tafelspitz, and the exquisite wines—everything was to our utmost satisfaction.

Well, what can I say? I was invited here for dinner. From the outside, the restaurant looks unassuming, almost off-putting. Inside, the decor is warm, but that certain "wha" feeling is missing. The service was absolutely excellent. Polite, not intrusive, always solution-oriented. The food was first-class, but in my opinion, the portion sizes don't match the price.

It was a wonderful menu, highly recommended. We chose the "Homeland" menu. A fantastic take on classic dishes you'd expect from a ski vacation, but on a completely different level. I'd be happy to go back!

We visited Rubens yesterday for the first time, but definitely not the last! It was exquisitely delicious! The staff was extremely friendly, and the ambiance was also very harmonious! A definite recommendation.

My memories of the meal are mixed. Yes, we didn't have a reservation, but there were only two of us and we were smartly dressed (for an upcoming concert at the Tonhalle). But the waitress probably didn't think we were suited to the restaurant and made a dismissive impression – but we still got a table without having to wait. Of course, this impression could also have been because the esteemed lady was having a terrible day, and in that case, I can certainly understand that. But I just didn't like it that much. Then the gentleman who served us... in response to a question about the menu, "As it says on the menu, we do this and that..." I find very arrogant and gives the impression of being stupid. This breaks the most important rule of etiquette in my opinion, and all other (feigned?) politeness is not appreciated. So, both my first impressions of the service were negative... I had the feeling they were trying to make us feel like we didn't meet the restaurant's high standards... but I didn't care at the time, as I was looking forward to a nice meal with my sister and the upcoming concert. Then a ray of hope - the food was brought quickly and tasted amazing! Far beyond what we expected. And the waitress (a third lady) was super nice and friendly. We felt truly appreciated and welcome. That turned things around. What was better here than anywhere else - no one interrupted our conversation with questions (is everything okay, does it taste good?). Thank you for that. But the first impression remains - I'm not good enough for the restaurant - and that's probably why I won't go there again. I don't know if that's the staff's goal... I hope not. The benefit of the doubt is for the defendant. But if anyone reading this is interested: I know I'm not writing about a kebab shop/pizzeria, but precisely because it's an expensive and classy restaurant, please treat your guests kindly and cordially - because that was my first association with Austria.

A truly outstanding Austrian restaurant in the center of Düsseldorf, in the premises of a former bank. We sat in the former safe room, which had been converted into a wine storage room, and felt very comfortable there throughout the evening. Rubens combines the classics of Austrian cuisine to create new, visually and tastefully appealing creations. Every walk becomes a poem. For the main course I ate a combination of Tafelspitz and Viennese veal schnitzel. It was the most delicious schnitzel I have ever eaten.

Es war wunderschönes Wetter und so wurde uns gleich angeboten,falls wir möchten, einen Tisch an der Hauswand außen zu bekommen. Das Angebot nahmen wir gerne an. Wir konnten zwischen 4 Menüs wählen. Das man auch einzelne Gänge aus den unterschiedlichen Menüs wählen konnte fanden wir toll. So konnten wir ohne Schwierigkeiten Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichte und Desserts selbst zusammenstellen. Alle Gerichte waren super lecker. Der und offerierte Wein war sehr geschmackvoll und moderat kalkuliert. Alles in Allem ein wundervoller Abend ,der zum schnellen neuen Besuch animiert.

On the occasion of my wife's birthday we visited Rubens and had a fantastic evening! We each chose a 5-course menu (Signature and Heimat) and let ourselves be pampered. Everything is just right here: - EVERY course is a celebration in itself. From the home-baked bread with wild garlic cream to the finger food vegetable quiche as an amuse bouche and the individual courses to the desserts, it's simply an incredible level. Always with an extra “twist” that makes you ask yourself: How does that work? - I just say: fried chicken espuma or roasted paprika cream. I didn't feel like taking photos so I could concentrate fully on the food - even though every single course deserved to be captured. Simply beautifully presented, creatively implemented and, above all, really, really tasty. - Wines: You can tell that the hosts have a lot of fun with their “job” and are absolutely convinced of the things they offer - this is a calling and not just a job. Great aperitif to start with “Vienna Dirndl” and rosé sparkling wine. I didn't want to commit to a bottle of wine with my menu and received an outstanding wine accompaniment to my menu, which was more than fairly priced given the great quality of the wines. This means you can enjoy very special wines - I haven't been able to get this magnificent Riesling aged in marble out of my head since my visit! - Service: How personable, competent and attentive can you be? This applies to every single employee in the team. We felt well looked after and warmly welcomed at every moment. You will be looked after in an absolutely unobtrusive, friendly and friendly manner - that's how it should be! The explanations about the courses and the goodies that come with the dishes also testify to the competence and good preparation of the employees - they know what they are doing and they enjoy doing it. It is also incredibly impressive how great - despite the store being full - one wheel fits into the other. A look into the open kitchen also shows the calm and precise teamwork of the young kitchen team! Great. - Ambience: The guest room is beautifully designed. Clean, modern but still cozy. I only saw the beautiful rooms in the basement - another highlight - on the way to the washrooms. Next time I'll ask the vault ;). Conclusion: That was an experience! We had a wonderful evening and went home full and happy at the end. We already announced it when paying and will make it happen: We'll be back! Thank you very much for this great evening.

A really great visit to Restaurant Rubens! The schnitzel was absolutely great, as was the potato salad – really tasty and homemade. The service was very friendly and attentive. Although I had a small misunderstanding with the drink, she noticed it straight away and took care of it straight away - top service! At the end there was a very tasty espresso and cappuccino. We would definitely like to come back.

Der Empfang war unterkühlt, aber ok wir hatten nicht reserviert. Wir waren auf dem Heimweg und wir wollten uns einen Kaiserschmarrn teilen und jeweils ein Glas Wein. Die Empfehlung Sauvignon Blanc wurde gern genommen, der Hinweis, dass der Wein 12 Euro kostet war kein Hindernis. Allerdings bezieht sich dieser Preis auf 0,1 und somit war es eine böse Überraschung, dass ein Glas 0,2 am Ende mit 24 Euro berechnet wurde. Die Gastronomin reagierte äußerst zickig auf unseren Hinweis, dass es ungewöhnlich ist, nicht darüber aufzuklären. Der Kaiserschmarrn war toll, aber das war es dann auch. Wir werden nicht wiederkommen.

Second time visiting this restaurant, which I highly recommend until my last visit. Although the service and ambient were exquisite, I found the all the courses heavily salted this time. I wish the chef and servers had considered our feedback to improve the dishes that were served later in the evening. This could have improved our experience and customer who would have been happy to visit again with more guests.

On the occasion of a milestone birthday, we were guests with a group of 11 people in the vault for a 5-course menu. We liked the ambience of the separate room. We were very impressed with the quality of both the food and the service. The selection of wines is considerable. It was a successful evening that will be remembered fondly. Apart from the Wiener Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarren, Rubens has so much more to offer. You can easily browse through the map and be surprised every time. It's so much fun here and pampers the palate. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. It's a bit like coming home. Definitely try it out. And you won't be able to get rid of it, that's for sure. THANKS to the entire team :)

Unfortunately, the restaurant management didn't understand their job! Unfriendly and a kind of rudeness... that's not good for Rubens. The food and wine are great… the rest of the team is friendly and attentive! That already affected our evening yesterday... the way she welcomed us was so bad... everyone has a bad day... Perfection is required here on Friday evening and honestly a smile doesn't cost anything!!!. There should be a conversation here! Never forget: people buy from people… I look forward to hearing from you!

The Rubens is a first-class Austrian restaurant. The Spinach Kas dumplings have become my favorite meal and the Kaiserschmarrn is the best I've ever eaten - it rounds off the very high-quality menu perfectly. Very warm and attentive hosts in a very nice atmosphere!

The three of us were here during the week and had reserved online in advance and that was a good thing because the store was packed. The restaurant is super cozy and we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table - with a view of the kitchen. That was great! The service was friendly and quick, the food was very tasty. Great schnitzel and the Kaiserschmarrn was also a poem. We never had to wait long for drinks. So everything is great! Card payment possible.

I cannot tolerate wheat and am currently 6 months pregnant - a combination that certainly doesn't happen often. Bi but otherwise easy when it comes to food. It was an unpleasant inconvenience for me, but I'm so grateful that they made the effort to create a menu that was wheat-free and suitable for pregnant women. The Kaiserschmarrn was also prepared wheat-free for the first time today - a dream! Even my husband was thoroughly impressed. The boss himself came to the table at the end to find out how it was for us or me. I would have liked to hug him as a thank you - it was a particularly nice evening for us! The service was really great. Rarely have we experienced such polite, friendly and attentive staff.

The food was decent, but not exceptionally good. The service is not particularly friendly, clearing takes place very quickly and the high noise level makes it very uncomfortable. We had to pick the jackets we had put away from a pile ourselves when we left the restaurant. Too bad

I'm still thrilled when I think about the wonderful evening and the fantastic food at Rubens! I love classic Austrian cuisine, so the “Die Heimat” menu is a real culinary wish-fulfiller. Both the Spinach Kas dumplings and the Wiener Schnitzel are the best I've ever eaten! World class! A real Austrian dream. For dessert, the world's best Kaiserschmarren. Very attentive service and a real favorite drink: Almdudler, served in a wine glass! Thank you for this special evening!

While looking for an Austrian restaurant we came across Rubens and can only recommend it! The service was courteous and absolutely friendly when we arrived. The owner guided us through the menu and wine list. We were also given good recommendations, which we never regretted over the course of the evening. Beforehand there was a small greeting from the kitchen, which was intended to give us a culinary foretaste of the evening. We chose the traditional 4-course menu and each course was outstanding! My partner chose the Wiener Schnitzel and when we were served we were informed by the chef himself that he was welcome to get another one - if one wasn't enough. In short: our expectations were met, if not exceeded. Price is consistent with quality and service. A little culinary trip to Styria is guaranteed in this restaurant. However, there are minor, high-level comments: We had a table in the back area, which was a bit cramped. That's fine for us, but this might put some guests off.
