Gasthaus Offen – A culinary experience in a class of its own
We had the pleasure of dining at Gasthaus Offen and absolutely loved it!
Service & ambience
The service was extremely friendly and attentive - exactly as you would expect in a traditional inn. The ambience is a bit old-fashioned, but that's exactly what gives the restaurant its charming, cozy character. The lovingly set tables with stylish crockery and cloth napkins show that attention is paid to details. A small tea light and a pretty floral decoration create a pleasant atmosphere.
Eat
The food was consistently excellent. The beef medallion in particular was an absolute delight – tender, perfectly cooked and wonderfully seasoned. There was also a generous portion of braised onions, fresh mushrooms and herb butter, which gave the dish a delicate flavor.
The beef roulade was incredibly tender and literally fell apart when cut - we have never had such a good roulade! The red cabbage was perfectly seasoned and had a pleasant balance between sweet and spicy. The boiled potatoes were sprinkled with fresh parsley and went perfectly with the sauce, which was nice and creamy and aromatic.
Another highlight was the extra bowl of mushroom cream sauce, which made the meat even juicier. This small attention shows that the cooking here is done with great attention to detail.
Special highlight
The fried potatoes deserve a special mention – crispy, golden brown and an absolute highlight in terms of taste. Your good reputation is absolutely justified! The fried potatoes, served in a separate bowl, were also golden brown and flavorful - exactly how you want them.
Value for money
Given the portion size and the excellent quality, the price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. We couldn't get enough of the generous portions and were more than satisfied in the end.
We can fully recommend the Gasthaus Offen and would come back at any time. If you want to enjoy hearty, homemade German cuisine in a cozy atmosphere, this is the right place for you!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
I often come here on my lunch break. I finally had to write a positive review because the checkout clerk is always so friendly and nice, no matter how busy or hectic it is. It's a real relief to be welcomed so warmly on a stressful day. Big compliment to the man at the checkout! 😊🫶🏻 (I'm writing this on 03/04/25 1:30 p.m.) The employees always wish you a good appetite and the atmosphere is therefore very friendly. The food tastes very good, the view is beautiful. I feel very comfortable here! 💕🍛☕️
We ate a delicious 4-course meal! Original recipe ideas! Service was attentive and discreet. The atmosphere was pleasant, but when it's full, it's also very loud because, as is the case everywhere, every inch of space is used. There's a very large selection of wine, but the prices here are a bit excessive.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the food!
At most, the portions might be too big for some people...
But after all, that’s why there’s out-of-home packaging
The reason for the 4 stars is the not so friendly staff who hectically and impatiently wiped all the tables around us 50 minutes before closing time and gave you the feeling that you had to leave the store quickly...
Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio was a 1. We would be happy to come back and recommend the dishes with a clear conscience
Very tasty food and friendly service! In addition, super fresh, crisp salad and the dishes are prepared in a varied way and with delicious side dishes. It's a shame we didn't eat here again much sooner. Will definitely be visiting again soon!
Great restaurant with good and fast service. Nice ambience and can be easily combined with a walk along the Elbe. Relatively expensive but also decent portions and quality ingredients. Absolute recommendation!
