TRUDE in Hamburg

We spent New Year's Eve 2024 here and really enjoyed it. The festival menu was plentiful and the quality of the food was very high. Despite the large number of guests, the service was quick and you never had to wait long. There was also a stand where the waffles were freshly prepared. Our waiter NOAH was always in a good mood and it was simply a positive service experience. At midnight there was sparkling wine or orange juice and a Berlin selection for everyone. We'd love to come back!

We went to Advent brunch. The buffet was okay but nothing special. The location is a little noisy due to the open space.

The New Year's celebration in Trude was very well organized and festively decorated. The service was friendly and we had a nice table for the three of us right by the window. The only point deducted is for the music, because it was a bit unusual and really old, especially since the music stopped twice... A bit too much pop music for my taste, as I didn't want to party in the alpine hut. The alcoholic drinks, especially the cocktails, were a bit overpriced in my opinion (0.3L cocktail Sex on the Beach for €9.90 is a bit much, it could be at least 0.5L in my opinion). Otherwise it was a great party, fast service and the Prosecco and Berliner at midnight were great too. The Berliners were fresh. The selection of food was also great, different salads from couscous to fish and meat, everything was there. Large and delicious selection of desserts. After 10 p.m. the food was removed and the dance floor was created there for the rest of the evening. I also thought the photo box for the free pictures was great! Gladly again

Simply the best place for after-work cocktails. Always nice and attentive staff. Highly recommended.

We and our friends really enjoyed yesterday's New Year's Eve party! The buffet was varied and plentiful and the ice cream bombs at the end were simply great. This also applies to the midnight sparkling wine and “Berliner”. The DJ always had the right touch and you could hardly leave the dance floor. Photo shooting in the Box for Free provided variety and fun. What was particularly special was the performance of the service staff - there were a lot of them, the tables were cleared quickly, everyone had a smile on their faces and "lived the service spirit". In my opinion, the New Year's Eve celebration 2024/25 was a complete success. I and my friends really liked the overall offer (group of 16 people). The buffet is very varied. There was a lot of dancing. A good mix. Relax and watch the fireworks outside at midnight. I've been to Trude several times before and have never been disappointed

We made reservations for thirteen people on December 29th. It wasn't particularly crowded. However, we had to wait more than half an hour for our food, with two meals being completely forgotten. Unfortunately, my burger and the fries I ordered with it were only lukewarm, which also applied to our guests' tarte flambées. Unfortunately, the drinks we ordered were not served until the end. The staff seemed overwhelmed. Maybe we just had a bad day. But based on our experience, unfortunately not recommended.

Nice restaurant with friendly staff. The area is quite large and service is quick. We were there with a group of about 12 people and unfortunately the food was served very differently. Half were almost finished eating and then the other half was served. Exactly the same with dessert. Everything tasted good but not outstanding.

Went for brunch. Very loud, very narrow. If you like a big indoor atmosphere, this is the place for you. The food is average, tastes good, but nothing special. Price/performance isn't really right. Service was very nice and attentive.

I have enjoyed coming here for many years. Today on Boxing Day it was another successful evening with good food, good service and the special "T.R.U.D.E." Flair. Thanks to the team for a lovely evening with you. We'd love to come back. :-)

Contrary to expectations, we were quite disappointed. They really didn't make any effort to celebrate our big birthday. The waitress just wanted to deal with us and was incredibly unfriendly and in a bad mood the whole evening. We received plates with greasy marks and meat that was far too dry. Above all, we were annoyed by the manner and tone of the service. I can't recommend the store. There are much better restaurants in the area.

Very nice restaurant. In summer you can sit outside nicely. Unfortunately it is very loud inside. We had first class service. The food is very tasty, but also expensive. For me the price-performance ratio doesn't really fit.

Oh man, I've never had such bad panfish before. Completely bland, tasteless and the quantity is a joke for the price.

I had a very tasty tomato soup. Although it was a very large room, you could have a stress-free conversation at lunchtime. Very friendly staff.

The place is actually very nice, but I personally can't like the location. It's very loud and difficult to have a conversation. You sit very closely at the tables. Food and drinks take a very, very long time. It doesn't help if the staff is nice.

The shop itself has a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service was completely overwhelmed, even with the store half full. Nothing wild. Ordered several times to be delivered, sometimes waited 30 minutes for a simple glass of wine or Fanta.

It's a good place to stay, even outside in the summer with a view of the drill head for the Elbe tunnel

The worst and most expensive buffet I've ever had. What happened to Trude? The service is top and very hard but the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly

Looking for a restaurant with gluten-free options, we went to the TRUDE restaurant. Great atmosphere, delicious food and super friendly staff. A very special thank you goes to Leoni, who completely rounded off our visit with her fresh and very friendly manner. We will definitely come back when we are in Hamburg again.

We were there with a larger group. Almost everything went right. It was good. There was a buffet. Unfortunately there were no rugs or spoons in front of the salads to fill them up with. This didn't work even after repeated requests There was fuel paste twice under each food container. Only one was ever on, so the food got cold quickly. Otherwise it is generally always nice and recommended.

Visually a very nice restaurant. Unfortunately, this could not be confirmed either in the service or in the food. The tomato soup tasted like pureed tomatoes with pepper. Unfortunately, the chicken was very dry and the schnitzel with fried potatoes wasn't highly recommended either. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were anything but fried. Unfortunately a bit too finished and more of a consistency of boiled potatoes in slices. The service was tried, but not very high quality. When even the service staff stands next to the customer and speaks badly about the chaos of the restaurant, I think that says it all. It's a shame, because you could get a lot out of this. The location and the location are... very nice. All in all, we were unfortunately very disappointed and will most likely not come back.

The food was okay but very expensive. The service was nice but there was a lot of chatter and no delivery. We had to wait forever for everything. Cocktails didn't come at all and we had to wait over 30 minutes for the bill. Definitely not recommended as a group!

One star is one star too many. Prices too expensive, worst service ever. No drinks, wait an hour for beer. The bill takes half an hour.

Food was okay, but way too expensive, pork schnitzel €23.50. Service was nice, but we honestly waited years until something came. Unfortunately no recommendation at all!

Very cool store! The tarte flambée with goat cheese was really tasty, the schnitzel was also tasty but not yet perfect. The price is quite high, especially the schnitzel, which I don't think is quite fair for the price. Would still come again.

We were at brunch. The scrambled eggs are a work of art, I have no idea how they do it so well. The employees are all very friendly, unfortunately there are too few of them, we often had to wait a long time for exclusive drinks. The rest of the breakfast was okay, it's just cold cuts, but of good quality. I can agree with the other reviews, it is loud in the store, but that's due to the design.

It has a special charm due to the industrial architecture. But the people in service are much more important. It starts with the reception. You are greeted warmly, your reservation is checked and you are offered a table. I would also recommend making a reservation. The selection of food and drinks is extensive and varied. There are also a number of cocktails with and without alcohol. What should be highlighted is the attentive and friendly service. This is rarely seen in Hamburg. Drinks and food are served quickly. There is also delicious Barmbeker beer. I ordered a currywurst. It sounds like a snack bar, but let's be honest: where else can you find them? And then in this outstanding quality. Plus the finest fries. Somehow down-to-earth, but still special. A clear recommendation!

Very very tasty food. Extensive menu and really nice service. The burgers and the butter-tender ribs are particularly recommended. The regional beers and the cocktail happy hour are convincing. The small negative point in the ambience is the high volume when there are a large number of guests and the rather narrow seating.

We were just there for brunch with 4 people. The decor of the guest room is rustic and cozy. The staff was super friendly and helpful, quick and humorous. The food was available in very sufficient quantities. The selection is large enough and down-to-earth, no extravagant, fancy stuff. I'm super full now and had a really great morning...thanks to the T.R.U.D.E team 👍🏻🎈😊

We were there relatively early. Which was a good thing, because the noise is very tiring when it gets crowded. We were there on my birthday. We were served nicely by our waitress (unfortunately I can't remember her name). We ordered cocktails and little things to eat. Your colleague Finn served us the food, was very attentive and even congratulated me on my birthday!

Standard breakfast buffet with the well-known classics. The mayo salads had a lot of mayonnaise.

The food was good, the drinks were very good - there was no skimping on cocktails, not even at happy hour. The volume was perfect for entertaining. The seating wasn't too crowded and the temperature in the restaurant was pleasant (not extremely warm). But what I found really exceptional at TRUDE was the service. It's rare to find such great waiters and waitresses - not pushy, but always there when you need them, incredibly nice and funny. At the shift change, the nice lady said goodbye and the gentleman came to simply say "Hello" - so we knew who we could contact from now on. Thank you very much for the exceptional service!

Service was very nice. Food is always a matter of personal taste. Therefore no comment. But the citizens were very small, and I would have liked the citizens to have a sauce like that. Thanks for the service. So the service staff got 5 stars.

Very nice brewery style restaurant. The food is excellent. I had spare ribs and chocolate brownies for dessert. The restaurant is at ground level and barrier-free. I was assigned a comfortable place with plenty of space. The service was attentive and friendly. All together. There is a disabled toilet. The prices are strict but reasonable. You can also eat outside. Highly recommended.

On our evening the salt was distributed a little incorrectly (one burger was very salty, one a little bit), but they responded immediately and brought a replacement free of charge. Varied menu with a wide range of offers. There is something for every taste, such as tarte flambée, (vegan) burgers or spare ribs and salads or bowls. Local Barmbeker can be drunk with it. Service is friendly and quick when ordering. Overall, a pleasant atmosphere, quite rustic, therefore usually very well attended. Pre-ordering is highly recommended, especially for larger groups.

The location is nice, the staff was attentive. I'm writing a review because I actually have a request. I love currywurst, but I like it with a small salad instead of fries. Fries + giant currywurst is really too much for me, and the price is also quite steep. Please include an alternative on the menu and yes, I am a woman and would like to be able to fit further into my jeans 😉

The food wasn't bad... but it wasn't so good that you would have to go there again. The currywurst is not recommended at all, but the bitchy tarte flambée was great.

We were invited to a party with a buffet there. We've never eaten so badly. I'm sorry! Potatoes were raw inside. Meat was tough...and so it continued throughout the whole range. Delicious fruits (grapes, melon) were soaked in alcohol and therefore no one touched them. Due to the poor selection, the children only had small, dry rolls. You had no idea what the different dishes were supposed to be?! Something I had on my plate tasted overly fishy and extremely salty. Very bad...and... Very disappointing for a host who certainly left a lot of money behind. We didn't say anything there because the host couldn't do anything about it, but even after "disposable bowls" were brought to take away the leftover food, "a" lady helped herself to a little salad. That says it all. 😅 The cake selection at the end was also a disappointment. Try your own dishes. One or two of them would definitely no longer be on the menu. 🙈

The food was good - vegan tortellini, sweet potato fries and pan fish. I can imagine that the noise level is high when the restaurant is fully booked. The waitresses were very nice and accommodating!

Very nice facility with a nice style and great ideas. There is a beautiful view and wonderful service. The food is very, very tasty and I especially recommend the burgers. The dessert is definitely something special. All in all very good.

Was here for a wedding and it was a brilliant day. The fillet steak was perfectly tender and tasty.

Good, down-to-earth food with plenty of choice on the menu. The absolute highlight, however, is the ambience, whether inside or outside, as well as the excellent staff. We are frequent guests and are always happy about the warm, courteous team. The service here is authentically nice and doesn't just meet any standard.

We were there as a family (17 people) on September 3, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. for my niece's school day party. 4x fries as a side dish were first served cold and after the complaint they were quickly warmed up in the microwave. Therefore they were lax. The same thing happened with the chicken breast that was ordered once and you could see from the brownish spots that it had been warmed up again and therefore not eaten. Our impression was that we were served some of tomorrow's bouffet. At the end, fries weren't counted, but it's not about that, it's about the feeling of being ripped off as a guest. Price-performance ratio is not right. Too expensive for what you get.

Very nice service and generally nice ambience, but unfortunately the acoustics are very loud. The food is average. The burgers are small and in my case the patty was rare rather than medium.

Nice place to have some drinks with friends in summer time

The food was disappointing. The Wiener Schnitzel was just molded meat and not tasty, the warm potato salad consisted of older mashed potatoes that were partially fried. I don't know of any lukewarm potato salad like that. The dressing, however, was good. The price was very overpriced. It was very crowded yesterday and the service was friendly and that The ambience outside was harmonious.

Ate a burger, unfortunately the price/performance ratio wasn't right here. Unseasoned, slightly chewy and mini! We weren't full! Service was nice, drinks were good. Very loud because of wedding reception. Doesn't fit into day-to-day business.

We ate there on a recommendation and everything from the drinks to the food was very good and sufficient! The service ladies were very courteous and attentive, even though it was very busy! We'll be happy to come back as soon as we're back in Hamburg!

Great price/performance and super nice service

I was recently at a wedding reception in a side room at T.R.U.D.E. The food at the buffet was good and the staff was very friendly. However, from 10 p.m. onwards, the windows had to be closed to ensure the residents' sleep at night, so the air in the room quickly became stuffy. The staff was unwilling to turn on the ventilation system in the room. Given the prices, you should be able to expect reasonable ventilation in the room.

Great service, food is good, but the shop is just too loud inside. When (almost) all the tables are occupied, like on my last visit, the noise level is just so high that it's difficult to have a conversation.

Modern location with a stylish outdoor area at the Museum of Work in Hamburg Barmbek. Great service, the currywurst was good average, value for money was right.

I haven't had such a bad burger in a long time. Bread dry, meat supposedly self-chopped and medium. It was dry and like sliced ​​meat and cold. Cheese wasn't melted but cold and of course paid extra. Fries of course also extra and small basket. The whole thing for 21€ even though it's only 125gr. Service was super nice and the ambience was good too. Beer delicious.

Original review from mid-2019: The ambience of the restaurant is quite nice, but unfortunately it is so incredibly loud in the open space, especially at peak times, that it is impossible to have a conversation. The rump steak is not exactly cheap at +30 € and unfortunately falls by the wayside in terms of taste and size for this money. In general, the T.R.U.D.E. seems to be more of a restaurant you go to to eat than to fill up. The service was friendly and quick, but the rest was so bad that you could simply go somewhere else for better advice. A small addendum: In mid-2023 (a good four years after my last visit) I was contacted by Google because they had received mail from a lawyer on behalf of TRUDE; I would never have been a guest and my review would be slander and not true. Luckily I still had the receipt and was able to refute this cheeky claim. I find it impossible that such methods are used to try to get rid of unpleasant criticism.

The ambience is nice and the service is also good. Super nice staff. BUT..... The food really leaves a lot to be desired. The tarte flambée was completely tasteless. The burger very minimalistic. But SpareRips were good. Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio is rather poor.
