Good, basic, well priced food in pleasant surroundings. Excellent service especially given my complete lack of German.

Very nice brewery style restaurant. The food is excellent. I had spare ribs and chocolate brownies for dessert. The restaurant is at ground level and barrier-free. I was assigned a comfortable place with plenty of space. The service was attentive and friendly. All together. There is a disabled toilet. The prices are strict but reasonable. You can also eat outside. Highly recommended.

On our evening the salt was distributed a little incorrectly (one burger was very salty, one a little bit), but they responded immediately and brought a replacement free of charge. The food was otherwise super tasty and the service (Karen?) was just great. We'd love to come back! Next time it won't be with work colleagues but with family.

We love having brunch here with the whole family! Even vegan dishes on offer. Price/performance really okay! Service quick and friendly! Noise level borderline due to the size of the room!

Large, industrial-style shop, unfortunately a bit noisy. Very funny staff and quick service. I can't really judge the food based on a tarte flambée, but it was good so far. Good, uncomplicated meeting place.

Varied menu with a wide range of offers. There is something for every taste, such as tarte flambée, (vegan) burgers or spare ribs and salads or bowls. Local Barmbeker can be drunk with it. Service is friendly and quick when ordering. Overall, a pleasant atmosphere, quite rustic, therefore usually very well attended. Pre-ordering is highly recommended, especially for larger groups.

The food wasn't bad... but it wasn't so good that you would have to go there again. The currywurst is not recommended at all, but the bitchy tarte flambée was great.

The location is nice, the staff was attentive. I'm writing a review because I actually have a request. I love currywurst, but I like it with a small salad instead of fries. Fries + giant currywurst is really too much for me, and the price is also quite steep. Please include an alternative on the menu and yes, I am a woman and would like to be able to fit further into my jeans 😉

Went there spontaneously with a larger group and still got a place. The service was good and the food was delicious. Everything even came at the same time. There were many vegan dishes to choose from. Really great!

We were invited to a party with a buffet there. We've never eaten so badly. I'm sorry! Potatoes were raw inside. Meat was tough...and so it continued throughout the whole range. Delicious fruits (grapes, melon) were soaked in alcohol and therefore no one touched them. Due to the poor selection, the children only had small, dry rolls. You had no idea what the different dishes were supposed to be?! Something I had on my plate tasted overly fishy and extremely salty. Very bad...and... Very disappointing for a host who certainly left a lot of money behind. We didn't say anything there because the host couldn't do anything about it, but even after "disposable bowls" were brought to take away the leftover food, "a" lady helped herself to a little salad. That says it all. 😅 The cake selection at the end was also a disappointment. Try your own dishes. One or two of them would definitely no longer be on the menu. 🙈

The food was good - vegan tortellini, sweet potato fries and pan fish. I can imagine that the noise level is high when the restaurant is fully booked. The waitresses were very nice and accommodating!

Very nice facility with a nice style and great ideas. There is a beautiful view and wonderful service. The food is very, very tasty and I especially recommend the burgers. The dessert is definitely something special. All in all very good.

The service was very accommodating and very knowledgeable about gluten free food. The food was quite good. However, the burgers were relatively small. But the food was delicious. It was relatively loud in the restaurant.

Was here for a wedding and it was a brilliant day. The fillet steak was perfectly tender and tasty.

Good, down-to-earth food with plenty of choice on the menu. The absolute highlight, however, is the ambience, whether inside or outside, as well as the excellent staff. We are frequent guests and are always happy about the warm, courteous team. The service here is authentically nice and doesn't just meet any standard.

A nice restaurant with lots of outdoor seating. The tables and chairs are rustic, but you sit very well and comfortably. The food was served quickly, the service was friendly. The tarte flambée with tuna was extremely tasty and the price of 15.90 euros was reasonable for the size. We really enjoyed the red wine. We'd love to come back ❤️

We were there as a family (17 people) on September 3, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. for my niece's school day party. 4x fries as a side dish were first served cold and after the complaint they were quickly warmed up in the microwave. Therefore they were lax. The same thing happened with the chicken breast that was ordered once and you could see from the brownish spots that it had been warmed up again and therefore not eaten. Our impression was that we were served some of tomorrow's bouffet. At the end, fries weren't counted, but it's not about that, it's about the feeling of being ripped off as a guest. Price-performance ratio is not right. Too expensive for what you get.

Very nice service and generally nice ambience, but unfortunately the acoustics are very loud. The food is average. The burgers are small and in my case the patty was rare rather than medium.

Nice place to have some drinks with friends in summer time

The food was disappointing. The Wiener Schnitzel was just molded meat and not tasty, the warm potato salad consisted of older mashed potatoes that were partially fried. I don't know of any lukewarm potato salad like that. The dressing, however, was good. The price was very overpriced. It was very crowded yesterday and the service was friendly and that The ambience outside was harmonious.

Ate a burger, unfortunately the price/performance ratio wasn't right here. Unseasoned, slightly chewy and mini! We weren't full! Service was nice, drinks were good. Very loud because of wedding reception. Doesn't fit into day-to-day business.

We ate there on a recommendation and everything from the drinks to the food was very good and sufficient! The service ladies were very courteous and attentive, even though it was very busy! We'll be happy to come back as soon as we're back in Hamburg!

Great price/performance and super nice service

I was recently at a wedding reception in a side room at T.R.U.D.E. The food at the buffet was good and the staff was very friendly. However, from 10 p.m. onwards, the windows had to be closed to ensure the residents' sleep at night, so the air in the room quickly became stuffy. The staff was unwilling to turn on the ventilation system in the room. Given the prices, you should be able to expect reasonable ventilation in the room.

Great service, food is good, but the shop is just too loud inside. When (almost) all the tables are occupied, like on my last visit, the noise level is just so high that it's difficult to have a conversation.

Modern location with a stylish outdoor area at the Museum of Work in Hamburg Barmbek. Great service, the currywurst was good average, value for money was right.

I haven't had such a bad burger in a long time. Bread dry, meat supposedly self-chopped and medium. It was dry and like sliced ​​meat and cold. Cheese wasn't melted but cold and of course paid extra. Fries of course also extra and small basket. The whole thing for 21€ even though it's only 125gr. Service was super nice and the ambience was good too. Beer delicious.

The ambience is nice and the service is also good. Super nice staff. BUT..... The food really leaves a lot to be desired. The tarte flambée was completely tasteless. The burger very minimalistic. But SpareRips were good. Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio is rather poor.

Original review from mid-2019: The ambience of the restaurant is quite nice, but unfortunately it is so incredibly loud in the open space, especially at peak times, that it is impossible to have a conversation. The rump steak is not exactly cheap at +30 € and unfortunately falls by the wayside in terms of taste and size for this money. In general, the T.R.U.D.E. seems to be more of a restaurant you go to to eat than to fill up. The service was friendly and quick, but the rest was so bad that you could simply go somewhere else for better advice. A small addendum: In mid-2023 (a good four years after my last visit) I was contacted by Google because they had received mail from a lawyer on behalf of TRUDE; I would never have been a guest and my review would be slander and not true. Luckily I still had the receipt and was able to refute this cheeky claim. I find it impossible that such methods are used to try to get rid of unpleasant criticism.

We had a lovely evening at Trude. The food was delicious and value for money was right. There are lots of vegetarian/vegan dishes, the service is super nice and you can also sit outside very nicely :)

Delicious standard food. If you like: huge cocktails and happy hour!! Really nice inside and out, in a great location, maybe a little big.

Lunch was rather modest and a rather economical mini portion. I had the currywurst which was served without love and with fries which weren't tasty either. Everything else on the lunch menu was so-so. Nice atmosphere and views but nothing more. I think the brunch is the strong point of this place.

For a small burger with dry bread you have to pay €18, the side dishes cost extra. Rarely have I been so dissatisfied with the food. My friends' meals were also absolutely average. When choosing in Hamburg, I would never recommend this store to anyone. The store is huge, was very full and therefore loud, so the ambience wasn't to my taste. The service was top. Nice, quick and helpful.

It was my first time there, so the service was good, but the burgers were way too small for the money, €20, which I thought was steep, so 2 burgers and two beers €51, you have to be able to afford that.

I've been here twice: 1st time with friends for cocktails Cocktails are great value for money, especially at happy hour, the service was great and we felt very comfortable! 2nd time to a wedding: The food was great, the service was super friendly and quick! The atmosphere was very cozy and everyone had fun here. I can definitely recommend it and would come here again.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right - especially with the burgers and fries. In addition, the burger patties were quite gristly for several of us. Otherwise, the large dining room is a little noisy. The outside area is spacious and offers a nice place to sit. The restaurant is very easy to reach, at least by public transport.

Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio (for the burgers and side dishes) doesn't match here at all and the extra charge for gluten-free is simply a disgrace given the size and quality of the burgers. Basically the taste, the service and the ambience were okay but nothing special.

There was little choice, you had to get the orange juice yourself and it cost an additional 5 euros to the buffet as a flat rate. However, the glass was a joke. Very small that you had to constantly walk. You had to press it yourself and the oranges weren't cooled and warm orange juice just doesn't taste good. In addition, the table was never cleared, only when we had put the plates on the empty table next to us. The employees were very nice, but they would have liked to have been able to come to the table more often, because always having to get up to get a waitress so that we could order was a bit annoying.

We were there for brunch. To be honest, I was really disappointed when I saw the buffet as soon as I walked in. The selection was mediocre. What I found bad was that a single dish had a sign on it. There was no obligation to label foodstuffs at all. A disaster for allergy sufferers. For some things you could only guess what it was, which the waitress found funny when asked. About 5 to 6 different things were offered vegetarian/vegan. I don't want to write more, although there was still a lot. My conclusion, if you don't care about anything, you can eat/do business there in a relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately that wasn't for me.

The restaurant and ambience are very nice and you can also sit outside. Some of the fried potatoes were burnt black and dry. I had the dish Hamburger Panfish where I was served 2 very small pieces of fish on fried potatoes. Unfortunately, asking €19.90 for this is completely overpriced. But the staff was very nice and friendly.

We ended up here for a delicious meal on our journey to Sweden. A half hour drive from the hotel but definitely worth it. What a warm atmosphere, friendly staff and above all delicious food. Highly recommended, also if you take a detour 👌🏻

I was recently at T.R.U.D.E in Hamburg with my colleagues and would like to share my mixed experiences. I was particularly excited about T.R.U.D.E, as they offer equally varied dishes for vegans and mixed food eaters. The reception was warm, but unfortunately I had bad luck with my dish, the Barmbeker Klopse “Königsberger Style”. I found it neither tasty nor appetizing - the dumplings consisted of a very solid mass and were almost inedible for me. Luckily, no one tried mine Colleagues from this, so that no negative prejudices about vegan food were confirmed. Unfortunately, there were also organizational deficiencies: Some orders were not received correctly despite repeated requests. We were told in advance that it would take 45 minutes until we got our food, which unfortunately was confirmed and even took up to an hour. From 9 p.m. we ordered cocktails, and one too many cocktails were brought to us. This was taken back, but unfortunately I later discovered that I was still charged for this cocktail, which was very annoying. In summary, the visit was mixed. The location itself is nice, especially the outdoor area. Since they offer a lot of vegan options, I might give T.R.U.D.E another chance to try another dish. Overall I give it 3 out of 5 stars and hope that the staff works on the points mentioned to improve the service.

Offer is nice. Service friendly and open-minded. The food was OK in my opinion. The taste is okay, but the portions are rather small and therefore the price-performance ratio is not suitable.

We sat outside in the beer garden and it was very crowded but still cozy. The service was super friendly and quick. We had burgers and fries. Unfortunately, the taste was rather average. The cocktails were good!

It's always fun to be here. Cozy, great atmosphere, good prices and great service. Brunch is always fun here too. Lots of choice and great presentation. Everyone here is nice and friendly and not intrusive. I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

Nice location but unfortunately loud: one star An attentive waiter (borrowed from the chess café), very nice: 2nd star Unfriendly service manager, didn't have our reservation (8 people reserved 2 weeks in advance) on the note (had to compare it with the PC) We got the last dark corner next to the kitchen and separate room The food was lukewarm to cold, the “BeyondMeat” burger was child-sized and for just under €18 it was a disgrace! Pan-fried portion with a small handful of fried potatoes. They seem to aim to sell only snacks or with the few entrees they offer. That was our last visit.

Very nice restaurant with an excellent menu. I really like the selection and composition of the individual dishes. Regardless of whether you are a burger fan or a vegan, everyone will find what they are looking for here. The quality of the food is very good and the prices are reasonable. The ambience of the suburb is very pleasant. Above all, children can move freely on the terrace. However, the food was very overpriced and of poor quality. We ordered almost every burger on the menu, the quality was equally poor. The portion of noodles for children was simply inedible. White, well-cooked pasta with what feels like 1 kilo of cheese slapped on top. This could be done much better. The service staff was very stressed, which gave them an unpleasant aura (even if unconsciously). Maybe we caught the wrong day at the restaurant...

We had lunch here on the terrace. The fish was great. The fried potatoes were almost burnt. Staff super nice. Nice ambience inside, but the toilets really need renovation, small and not wheelchair accessible. You need to know this before celebrating big celebrations here.

We were at an event in Barmbek and afterwards we decided to have a snack at T.R.U.D.E. Were here for the first time and were not disappointed. The service was very friendly and attentive. We decided on currywurst with fries and a beer. You can sit wonderfully outside on the terrace and there is plenty of space, very spacious. However, today it was very windy and fresh, so it wasn't crowded outside, but it was even more crowded inside. Price performance is right and we were full and satisfied. We liked it a lot!! The connection to get around is optimal, opposite is the U/S Barmbek train station... it couldn't be better.

I had visited this place for a supper and lunch and we were both impressed with food and service. Place is well located and easy to get to from S-bahn stop in Barmbek. Convenient to Ibid customers from close by. We liked it so much that we will make it a permanent stop any time we are in Hamburg.

Local with hall character. This creates a significant background noise, increasing with the number of guests. Manageable menu offering, focus on drinks. Service seemed overwhelmed at short notice. The burger, with fries, that I had was okay, but at just under €20, a bit overpriced. Ingredients seemed fresh. The burger sauce was a bit weak.
