Service and food were top-notch; the only slight drawback was the incredibly loud acoustics. And the table we were assigned was in the middle of all the walkways.

The food was very good 2-3 years ago, but now the quality has declined significantly. Expensive ingredients are saved, which was not the case before. However, the prices are still very high and are no longer reasonable for what you get. The service is understaffed and not really friendly, which is unacceptable in this price range. We won't be coming back again.

It was really a great evening we had in the Klinker Restaurant. We had the surprise menu and were really surprised at the creative dishes and great flavor combinations with every course. I particularly liked the sauces. My favorite of the evening was the hazelnut salad 🤤 We had a great table by the window, but the seating was very tight. The service is very unobtrusively attentive. We'll definitely be back.

When I go to a restaurant to eat, I am willing to spend money for the service. I have never spent so much money on such poor food. There was no meat dish on the menu and what we ate as a main course could have been considered a starter. We left the restaurant hungry and frustrated. Never again !!!!

Yesterday I spent an evening in the Klinker restaurant. I really liked the ambience and the service. Unfortunately the menu was very cabbage and beet heavy. I already understand the concept of Klinker (regional, seasonal cuisine) and the chef really got everything he could out of Brussels sprouts, carrots and kohlrabi, but it was just too much. After the third course (powdered cabbage on leek) we felt a bit like rabbits. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to drink the espresso at the end with milk foam because, as a matter of principle (according to the service employee), milk is not foamed in the clinker. Overall, I felt a little patronized/lectured… It was still a nice evening but maybe you can be a little more relaxed about the milk and the choice of vegetables.

Definitely one of the best restaurants in Hamburg at the moment and completely unpretentious. The food is of the highest quality and the idea of ​​putting vegetables at the center and yet not making a fuss about them is great. Will definitely come back!

We were warmly welcomed and the service was attentive and friendly. The food was wonderful and often pleasantly surprised us with its taste. We only realized after three courses that it was completely vegetarian. Didn't miss anything, on the contrary. A real tip for a special evening.

Really great concept, with very selected ingredients, seasonal dishes and prepared with great attention to detail (the butter alone with changing preparation variants is always a little highlight). Special taste experiences and qualities can be enjoyed by a wide variety of guests. Therefore the prices are still ok, although you have to be aware that the portions are usually “in between”. Personally, I think this concept is great because it gives you the opportunity to try a lot of dishes and share everything. We've always had great evenings there!

It‘s Monday in the country‘s second most populated city. It‘s December. We‘re counting the 21st century. Atoms forming a wet substance called rain fall from heaven (to those who have left the church, they fell from the sky). Most citizens sit on their couch, celebrating the end of their day with a soft drink or a typical Feierabendbier. Some are working shifts, minors might be sleeping. Only those with an occasion, perhaps something to celebrate, are going out for dinner on days like these, to places like these. One wouldn‘t spontaneously decide, on this given day, under those climatic (and economic) conditions, to have a light dinner at Restaurant Klinker, you would assume. Well, assumptions rarely mirror the truth, and have rarely possessed the ability to strongly hold up with reality. The visitors I am writing about certainly didn‘t break any rules or laws. They might have defied common sense, or lacked logic in their decision. They didn’t decide how the majority of us would have decided. Those two, a children‘s doctor and someone else whose occupation cannot be disclosed, went to Restaurant Klinker. On the day I described. Under the conditions outlined. „Ich habe einen 25€ Gutschein“ is what the doctor said. „Es ist auch nicht teuer.“, the doctor added. This is where relativity comes into play. Not the one defined by Einstein. Another relativity, one for which „It depends“ is often the golden answer. What‘s expensive? Are 8€ for a döner kebap expensive? Is a 13€ Espresso Martini excessively priced? Are 60€ per person for a random dinner on a Monday expensive (after deducting a 25€ voucher)? Well, it depends what you are comparing it to, and what criteria you come up with. I argue that those questions aren‘t necessary, they distract from the important ones: Did you feel nourished? Taken care of? How was the bread? The wine? Did it taste great? Was it an experience? The reviewed place let those two careless dudes answer all of those truly important questions in the most positive of ways: Yes! Yes! Excellent! Happiness-inducing. Absolutely! Hell yes, especially for a Monday, or no precisely BECAUSE it was a Monday. So, would I recommend you to visit Restaurant Klinker - on a Monday - or any other day? Yes, and it does not depend. Go visit.

This was our second time eating here and we were once again surprised by the menu. As with our first visit in summer 2024, we were completely thrilled. The many different flavor components that we hadn't had before in this combination are simply a pleasure. The service is always attentive and friendly. We will definitely come back on our next visit to the Hanseatic city.

A very nice evening with delicious delicacies and very attentive staff. We tried the dishes and everything tasted really delicious. We liked the concept. If there is something to complain about (complaints at a high level) it is the volume of the many conversations. A restaurant I can warmly recommend :)

We chose the vegetarian menu with 4 courses! Each course consisted of 2 beautifully coordinated plates! You had wonderful aromas and great taste experiences! A salt and pepper mill was never missing! Everything was perfect and harmonious! The desserts are fantastic too! We (2 people) can only warmly recommend the Klinker if you want to spend a really enjoyable evening! We were definitely not here for the last time :) We have no criticism and had a perfect evening. The service was noticeably good and smooth. We decided on the menu and each had a (different) dish that didn't convince us 100%, but that's just a matter of taste and has nothing to do with the quality of the food. Anyone who thinks you have to eat meat to have a special dining experience should come here and convince yourself otherwise. The dessert was absolutely amazing! See you soon ;)

Unfortunately, the menu was exclusively vegetarian, which I couldn't read anywhere. After two courses, fish or meat would have gone very well. Unfortunately, every dish (3 courses + dessert) was acidic. Should that be a common thread? It was already too much in the second course. Even the main course, which as already mentioned had no fish or meat, had to be pickled sour asparagus. Just always a little too much. Of course, the chocolate flavor wasn't enough for the chocolate mousse; a large dollop of quince jelly had to be added. Just annoying for both of us. Everything was high quality but for €65 per person we really expected more. Too bad. No recommendation from us

A gastronomic experience at a moderate price. The staff is very well trained and motivated, the food was excellent. The location is a bit small, but that's typical of a really good restaurant. I recommend it for a nice dinner and a drink, under 40 euros, and the quality definitely exceeds the price. The reservation system is very modern, as is the reception: everything digitized, with your name and several reminders and confirmations - really well done.

A really great restaurant. Very trained and attentive staff, creative dishes, delicious cocktails and wine. It's common practice to select different dishes and then place them in the middle of the table - it's not only super communicative - it's also very tasty! You can also watch the masters at work while you eat. Really adorable.

Surprisingly, despite making a reservation at 8:15 p.m., we had to wait outside the Kalten restaurant for about 15 minutes. The restaurant was full and very loud. Food was great. The prices for vegetarian dishes (2 x 65€ plus a bottle of vino from 50€ and 10€ for 2 x sparkling water) are too expensive. Sorry €200 is too much for dinner

Perfect evening. Small criticism: some of the food was only lukewarm.

The best thing first: the quality of the lamb was good! We had almost all the dishes on the table, including the recommendation “Torteline filled with duck and chicken”. However, the culinary sophistication was missing in all the dishes. Even a cauliflower can dance and a celery can be heavenly! Unfortunately, there was nothing similar to be found that was even remotely satisfactory - a shame given all the dishes! So only one star. The service tried very hard and the dishes were presented well. (if only it had tasted as good as described!) We all criticized the food and described in great detail what we didn't like. But whether it was passed on?!? There was no reaction to it. Probably because there wasn't time for that in the full restaurant?! ? Ambience: loud! Conclusion: the culinary trip didn't happen.

Great food in a pleasant atmosphere! Four of us went to the Klinker for my birthday and it was totally worth it! You have the option of either selecting your dishes individually from the menu or ordering a pre-prepared 3-course menu. We decided on the menu. The menu is offered for two people or more and is served on a sharing principle. There are two individual dishes for each course, which can then be shared. The dishes were exclusively vegetarian and prepared and served with a lot of love. For all courses, care was taken to use mostly regional products and to reuse as much as possible so as not to waste anything. The drink selection was very, very good! There is a large selection of open drinks as well as cocktails etc. There is also a large wine list that certainly has something for everyone. We had a bottle of red wine with our meal, which we were recommended upon request. Very suitable and priced very well! Very good restaurant! Always my pleasure!

If i could give less then 1 star I would. I ordered a main dish for 24€ and got 3 small dumplings filled with ground chicken swimming in butter. I have ordered burrata as a starter and i got 4 tiny slices of something what i guess should be burrata but was far from, it was literally not even a third of the full burrata covered in salad leaves, green peas and some herbs - for 17€!!! My grandmother would turn in her grave for this. My partner ordered his starter - he got 1 piece of smoked paprika (when I say 1, imagine 1 slice, no joke check the photo) - for 18 euro. Have you ever paid 18€ for one piece of paprika? And his main dish was tiny little schnitzel with cucumber salad for 25€ - my grandma would do better + 2 glases of wine. We paid 112€ euro!!! I WAS STARVING WHEN I LEFT THE RESTAURANT! I haven’t been this angry long time. I feel like i was cheated on and robbed. This restaurant is huge disaapointment. I understand a fine dining, I ve experienced many amazing restaurants around-the world. But this was a one huge expensive disappointment.

The service was great and the food was very flavourful and we enjoyed it a lot. The food was on the pricier side given the portion size - they recommend 2-3 dishes per person. The most expensive part was the water. It costs €5 per person (and they of course offer it right when you sit down) so we spent €20 on water, which is crazy given that in the supermarket 9L of bottled water costs about €2.

Our experiences from yesterday evening: The reception was relatively friendly; were assigned an unfavorable table - 2 tables were very close together; friendly welcome at the table with an explanation of the restaurant concept; Tap water with sparkling water for a flat rate of EUR 5.00 per person in advance; Order placed bread in advance/4 different dishes to share/bottle of Italian red wine/no dessert; Food very creative and mostly tasty (except for the tough dry pork schnitzel) but also very manageable in size; The quality of the goods (Demeter, organic, bread, etc.) is certainly very good. Red wine for 56.00 EUR okay. Conclusion: Somehow this visit was definitely a unique experience. Price/performance not appropriate. 165.00 EUR on the bill and left with a feeling of hunger and not culinary satisfaction. But maybe we just cook too well at home ;)

The reservation worked great. After a friendly welcome, we first sat at the bar. My aperitif was ok, but unfortunately my companion received a different drink than what was ordered. On the second attempt the order was forgotten, on the third time the wrong cocktail came again. Later we sat on the terrace for dinner (not particularly attractive due to the proximity to the street, but outside) We decided on the menu. The food (vegetarian) was consistently excellent, well explained and fairly priced at 60 euros per person. I had a glass of Rosé 0.15l for 9 euros, very good, but like all drinks it was expensive. With very few exceptions, bottled wines start at 45 euros. As in many Hamburg restaurants, there is a water flat rate. Great from an ecological point of view - but 5 euros per person is too high. If the two of you drink just 1 bottle of (tap) water, you pay a whopping 10 euros. Ultimately, the food was our highlight, there are drawbacks in the ambience (no candle or similar, no plant on the table) and in the service (dishes partially chipped, forks bent, less attention to the guests when the kitchen is closed, everyone was very happy with it busy cleaning up). We paid 180 euros for 2 people including a tip - unfortunately the overall package wasn't convincing.

Unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations - but it wasn't the food. The dishes were top-notch in terms of taste and quality. However, in our opinion, the service reacted to simple questions in a very strange and "weird" way and thus gave us a vibe that we couldn't cope with and which meant that we didn't really feel comfortable.

Total surprise!!! The menu is very creative. Everything tasted perfectly. Nothing too much of anything and nothing too little either. The service team seems to be working. Very friendly and attentive. They know what they are selling. The wine list also provided a WOW.

Inattentive staff (though service in Germany generally tends to suck). Overpriced and tiny portions. One excellent dish was the burrata green peas and fennel salad. Unfortunately so small, that you can barely share it with anyone. For 17€. The duck ravioli (3 pieces!!!) was tasty, but also severely overpriced. The cheese cake (deconstructed) was too sweet.

The evening really impressed us! We went to the restaurant in a good mood and were simply surprised. The menu blew us away! Great ideas implemented in a brilliant way. Each dish emphasizes its contents in a great way without being overly seasoned. Every course was an experience and we were given plenty of presents. We enjoyed the 'disco' of the staff and the high-fives before the 'race' started. We found that atmosphere again and thank you for the friendly service without any airs. In the kitchen it can't be much different, anyone who cooks so well must love it come to work. In terms of price, we felt the value on the palate and in the service. You totally amazed us this evening. We were delighted to see the good spirits of those who had put a drink on the benches outside and enjoyed the start of the weekend. We really enjoyed being guests at the Klinker. Friendliness, respect and first-class cuisine, the spark ignited for us. We wish the whole team all the best!

Zuallererst war das Personal sehr freundlich. Leider aber auch nach der ersten Getränkebestellung komplett abwesend. Viele Zutaten waren am Anfang des Abends schon aus, deshalb gab es Alternativen, was an sich ja nicht schlecht ist, gerade bei dem Nachhaltigkeitsprinzip, aber das was uns als „Vorspeise“ verkauft wurde war ne Frechheit für den Preis. Lauwarmer Spitzkohl (weil Chinakohl aus war), mit ein paar Nüssen und nem Dressing das mich sehr an meine Oma erinnerte. Also nichts falsches dran, sehr lecker, aber eher Bauernküche at its best. Für 17 Euro absolut zu teuer. Beim Hauptgang wurden wir vergessen. Das Wein nachschenken hab ich dann selber übernommen. Als wir dann darauf hingewiesen haben, dass wir nach 45 Minuten nichts mehr zu essen bekommen, kam dann der Hauptgang kalt-lauwarm bei uns an. Alles wieder sehr durchschnittlich was den Geschmack und die Präsentation angeht. Man muss allerdings sagen, dass die Qualität des Fleisches und des Käses super war. Das war aber auch alles was sich an diesem Besuch gelohnt hat. Also wenn fas Fine Dining ist, dann sollten sie meine Oma in die Küche stellen. Die bekommt das mit dem Zeitmanagement und Geschmack besser hin, auch noch mit 83. Fazit: Abzocke. Zu teuer und überbewertet.. Schade ☹️

We had the menu. Everything was vegetarian. Delicious, although we would have liked to have tried something with fish or meat. The design of the restaurant is very simple and chic, but something should definitely be done here because of the noise. You hardly understand your own words.

I was there for the second time and it was again a taste sensation. How you can enrich and perfect such seemingly simple dishes with very simple flavors or ingredients fascinates me. It doesn't always have to be totally fancy, just the right but sophisticated combination is enough and they can do it 100%. Despite the store being packed, the service was pleasantly relaxed and friendly but still very professional. Unfortunately I can't afford it that often, but I'll definitely come back at some point.

I have rarely eaten sooooooooo well. Vegetables are often the oh-yes-have-to-have-too side dish, often just steamed or boiled to death. And vegetarian options are often very side dish-heavy. Not in the clinker! Vegetables are celebrated here. We had a vegetarian menu and were so impressed. This cauliflower with currants, the dim sum in a broth that I will dream about for a long time, the pointed cabbage with nut butter and mushrooms, the asparagus with radishes and camelina oil sauce,... And at the end this dream of strawberries, rhubarb and rice pudding foam, that was really top class. I honestly think the service is loving and attentive and the price is too cheap, I don't understand the complaints here at all. Given that everything comes to the table fresh and in organic quality, absolutely no complaint. Recommendation: go and try it out!
