Ahoi Steffen Henssler in Hamburg

I've already enjoyed the third round with him... the FRIED TUNA SASHIMI with ponzu sauce is a dream and a must! You can definitely treat yourself.

My girlfriend and I are visiting Hamburg for the second time - when we walked past AHOI yesterday, it was clear to us: we want to eat here 😁 We then reserved 2 seats and were there almost 15 minutes early - but still no problem. We were escorted inside and were even allowed to choose the spot - we chose the quieter, cozy corners 😊 Finally the card came - EVERYTHING please! An incredibly diverse selection. We decided on a classic & a bowl. The food is amazing! It's a shame that we're only in Hamburg for such a short time - otherwise we would definitely have gone there again. The location is great: great atmosphere, courteous service, great food! Keep it up, AHOI crew - we'll be back 😊

I was there for lunch today, I ordered what I always ordered, but this time it was halved, for example avocado mango rice and everything that was on it. When I asked, the waiters said unfortunately from April onwards it would be like that. I think that's not correct

Today we spontaneously went to eat at Ahoi. Fast, very friendly service. Our condition was a girl in a great mood. We both had fish, very well done. Thank you for the lovely time with you.

Short early dinner without reservation. The two of us had a small bite to eat today. Without a reservation we were lucky to get a table at around 4:30 p.m. Service was quick and friendly. The bowls were really tasty and are recommended. Logically, it is not a restaurant for fine dining. But you should also know that. But what we ate tasted great. The ambience was also great. Not too loud despite the place being full. There are no criticisms.

The dishes were, as always, very tasty. Very busy restaurant. Reservations might be an advantage. Price/performance ratio is ok.

The Ahoi is located on Spitalerstrasse in Hamburg. The reservation went smoothly. The restaurant was stylish, nicely decorated and clean. Toilets are available on the lower floor. The service was friendly. I ordered the Pink Salt Edamame as a starter, the Chicken Teriyaki Salad as a starter and the Teriyaki Beef Burger as the main course. Unfortunately EVERYTHING came at once and the edamame (starter) were forgotten, as was the pepper mill twice, which I thought was a shame and could certainly be improved! The salad was tasty but didn't knock my socks off. The burger was tasty but unfortunately the buns were dry. To be honest, I expected more from Steffen Henssler's Ahoy. Price/performance OK. Thank you very much.

I just ate currywurst with “Hensler Style” fries there - I wonder where the “Hensler Style” was. The fries were no better than at the snack bar, the sausage was very thin and - yes it was veal - but the taste wasn't that great. The sauce is very bland so I'm still looking for the curry taste. For that 16.50 euros is 10 euros too much. Popcorn was offered as a sidekick on all tables except for us. The second dish, fish and chips, was also not good. The fish was completely submerged in the fat-soaked beer breading. The service was subpar. Conclusion: Next time, skip Hensler Style and go to the classic snack bar instead!

As always, simply delicious, great service, the new colleague who started on Saturday was in a really good mood. We say see you next time.

Once again a lovely visit to Ahoi. Our spot in the gallery was a bit noisy, but the ambience was quite nice. The dishes are tasty and attractively served. The price-performance ratio is great.

The food itself is still very good, the bowl is significantly smaller compared to two years ago. Service friendly, but could be more attentive. Price for a homemade iced tea 0.4l with a touch of mango, €6.90 is excessive for me.

Today we had dinner with 6 people. Among other things, 3 burgers, the fries with onions and the dip were delicious. The burger had a neutral taste and nothing special. I was hoping for a lot more, every street food burger is better. The ambience was nice and pleasant. The waitresses were friendly but not very attentive towards the end. In my opinion, the name is more impressive than the food.

We came to the AHOI several times, it was great as always. 🤩

We ate there yesterday with our company (27 people) and the food was really delicious. Four waiters served us, which is certainly stressful with so many orders and most people noticed that. But Valed stood out for his professionalism and friendliness. He was attentive, cordial and served us excellently until the end. Kudos to him.

We really liked the decor, style, staff and of course the food. You should definitely do it when you are in Hamburg. Maybe it's better to reserve.

Unfortunately not recommended, fish was breaded, was mainly batter, and didn't taste good at all, the food plagued us all day. Currywurst was inedible, was already old, when I asked, the explanation was that it was made in the oven and therefore had wrinkled, hard skin. I left it, no apology or anything. When we paid he came back and said, I told the kitchen, "we may need another supplier...some people have already complained" but no replacement. Toilet and restaurant not really inviting. There are piles of ready-baked fried fish in the kitchen. Unfortunately, we didn't notice anything about it being freshly prepared.

Yes, there are burgers and fried fish with fries in countless places elsewhere. But not as good as here! The Hennsler style topping with fresh coriander on the fries or Steffen's favorite dressing and cranberries in the salad are just that certain something that makes the location compatible with tourists and therefore the overall concept work. A very clear recommendation!

Highly recommended! You might think I can't afford that, but you'll be pleasantly surprised. Super super friendly staff and a very attractive interior design shine right from the reception. All hygiene rules are implemented very well so that you can enjoy your stay without any worries. The menu is clear but still offers a good selection of dishes at moderate prices. Just the sight of the food being served brings great joy; then the taste! So I'll be raving about these fries for a long time and hope that I'll be able to enjoy them again at some point. The dip and the fish are also simply brilliant! Keep it up!

Sehr netter Service und ein wirklich gutes Essen. Wir hatten Fish&Chips und einen Bürger. Ja, bekommt man auch anderswo. Aber hier hat es einfach mal anders und sehr gut geschmeckt.

Das Essen war das Geld nicht wert fast 30 € für ein paar Pommes und fünf Tiefkühl Garnelen und ein Glas Wein- wirklich besser zur Nordsee gehen oder Daniel Wischer. Service etwas zerstreut aber nett- der Laden sieht mich nicht noch einmal wieder.

Ich hatte gedacht, das kann ja wohl alles nicht wahr sein. Wir waren hier für eine kurze, geschäftliche Besprechung und hatten richtig Hunger, weil wir den ganzen Tag gearbeitet haben, die Pommes Frites mit einer kleinen Auflage, aus tiefgekühlten Knuspershrimps bestehend, haben wirklich ca.23 Euro gekostet. Hatte Nordsee Niveau nur, dass dort die Portionen um einiges großzügiger sind. Beim Service passierten mehrere Fehler, allerdings waren die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich. Mit einer Limonade und einem Sartispritz habe ich fast 40 Euro bezahlt. Das Gesamterlebnis beweist , dass Herr Henssler kein seriöser Geschäftsmann sein kann, sondern auf Touriabzocke setzt.Schade, wir werden seine Restaurants weder empfehlen, noch jemals wieder aufsuchen.

Absolutely recommended!! Nice service and really good food for my taste. I had the teriyaki chicken bowl, my wife had the chicken teriyaki salad and my daughter had currywurst with fries. Everything very tasty! Great seasoning and absolutely ok value for money for Hamburg city. At peak times you have to be lucky, wait, or just make a reservation. Even though it was really busy when we visited, the food was at the table in a really good time frame. Respect to the kitchen!!

Let the Fish'n Chips go back, smell clearly of frying fat, a lot of fat on the plate too, but according to the service it's normal, the fish taste was hard to find, the difference between Henssler Fries and normal fries is difficult to tell, except in the price; Arrangement on the plate not convincing; However, there was an offer from the service to change the dish free of charge but we politely declined. Expectations for a “Henssler” restaurant were significantly higher.

hatten von der Tochter nen Gutschein bekommen und wollten mal was "neues" Testen, das Essen war auch super lecker - war nur`n bißchen wenig aufm Teller, es war auch recht voll und dadurch auch laut (Samstagabends). Preise nicht günstig - man bezahlt halt den Namen.

Very nice and atmospheric restaurant, unfortunately the food does not impress with anything more than its appearance, it is good but ordinary. There is nothing that would convince me to go back to the same place and eat again. Reasonable prices, it is best to make a reservation because it is very busy.

It was always good. The fries are awesome. It's a shame that there's no longer any steak to choose from... very disappointed! When steaks are back on the menu...we'll come back ;).

Lohnenswert, es gab nichts zu meckern. Netter Service. Selbst ohne Reservierung kommt man hier mittags dran. Wir hatten Fish and Chips - so herrlich gut gemacht! Frittieren muss man nämlich Können! Hatte den Augenschmaus am Nachbartisch gesehen und gleich bestellt. Gerne komme ich wieder. Preis - Leistung passt. Dickes Lob!

Yesterday we were in Hamburg with a table for 2 people. If you come to Hmaburg from Berlin you have to test it out. 3 courses plus drinks and we were not disappointed. Tuna sashimi / tomato chilli soup / salmon steak / teriyaki beef burger / churros and tiramisu. Everything perfect and to the point right from the start. Perfect interplay of flavors. Gladly again or better open a shop in Berlin please.

I was at Ahoy today with a very, very good friend. I'm thrilled 😊 The ambience, a dream, the food is excellent and the staff, very, very accommodating and extremely friendly ❤️👍🏼👍🏼❤️ I travel with a walker and some things are difficult for me. After we were assigned our table, I was immediately asked if they could help me take off my jacket. I have never encountered helpfulness in this form in a restaurant. 😊 Or, when I went downstairs to the toilets, I was asked directly if I needed help with the stairs. Extremely friendly and really, very accommodating. You can't say otherwise. I would really, really like to come back from Chemnitz.❤️

Everything went great with the booking. When we asked if we could hang up the jackets, there was no response. We both order the chicken burger with Henssler special sweet potato fries. The food came very quickly, but unfortunately with the wrong side dish. So the food went back. The burger had to wait until the right side dish was ready. Then the second meal came while my companion was already eating. The burger upstairs was warm, everything else was now cold. On the second bite, I took the burger apart and realized the sauce was missing. I told the waiter, again no apology, he just brought me a bowl of sauce. As we were clearing up, he quickly asked if we wanted anything else, we said no, he then asked if everything was okay. I wanted to tell him my opinion about the food, but he left. We had to wait forever for the bill. Only when there was clear demand were we finally allowed to pay. Bad service, dry meat and no apology, once and never again. The avocado cream was good. But here too, unequal occupancy. Very thin for me, very thin for my companion.

Not suitable for disabled people, nor for people who have to walk on crutches for a short time, as the way to the toilet is up a very long staircase. We ordered the rump steak medium (€28) with sweet potatoes in Henssler style and the teriyaki burger with fries (€24). The steak was on the edge of well done and tough. The sweet potato fries were cold. Since we were sitting right next to the kitchen, I saw that the S. fries were the first thing on the plate and then all the other dishes from our table were prepared. During this time my plate was standing around without heat, waiting for the steak 😒. The Henssler style consists, among other things, of: from half a bunch of uncut coriander - way too much 😳. The beef pattie from the burger was fried to death and therefore very dry. But the entire burger was also very dry due to very little sauce. There was a side salad with the rump steak, which was very tasty. Not as typical with leaf salad etc. but more like a bowl. Very tasty 😋, hence a second star for the food. I ask if the restaurant has a good reputation just because of the name behind it. In any case, for me it doesn't matter who it belongs to, I rather attach great importance to the kitchen. And then I noticed that the service staff only consisted of very good-looking, muscular men. Is this standard at Ahoy? Do you want to distract from bad food? Because the service was very good.

Food good, service exceptional! We (family with 3 children + parents-in-law) didn't make a reservation, but the waiters were able to organize a table for us in a very short time at peak time! Even though the restaurant was full, the waiters were always very friendly, courteous and attentive! Externally child-friendly! Simply great!!! Thanks The food was very good, the taste was a bit unusual. Overall we were very satisfied!!!

Ahoi is a typical fish restaurant in the north. You can also eat burgers and bowls. The food is delicious. I sometimes had to wait a long time for service.

There are lots of tables outside and there is a snack bar facing the pedestrian zone. The “Henssler Style” sweet potato fries are delicious and the prices are really okay. Things look good inside, expect waiting times, it was very busy. But I only went to the toilet there.

The food is delicious. They made their own interpretations of most dishes. You can choose classic or Ahoi style. We ate schinitzel and sausage. It was quite delicious. The environment and atmosphere are quite fun. The staff are polite, cheerful, fun and helpful. Their interactions with tourists are fun. They spend time dancing to the music playing.

War alles sehr schön in Hamburg. Kommen auf jeden Fall ein weiteres Mal.

We were there at lunchtime during rush hour without a reservation. The staff obviously made an effort to organize a place for us, so a 20 minute wait was completely ok. The food was delicious, I read “upscale fast food” in a review here, and I would agree with that. The staff was friendly at all times, there were no bad or inappropriate jokes (as you often read here). One point deducted for the uncomfortable atmosphere. Loud, crowded, cramped and overall it feels like mass processing, we didn't find it comfortable.

We made reservations for 33 people and were able to sit upstairs in the restaurant. The restaurant was packed to capacity. I would recommend a reservation. We had a very nice evening and a great meal. We got 3 courses. I have attached the pictures. The staff is very friendly and very attentive. We'd love to come back. Full 5 stars 🌟

A great stay in HH at Henssler, brought to the table from reception with a reservation, the food was everything we expected, the teriyaki burger with Henssler style fries was excellent, the bowl with shrimp and my wife's extra ponzu butter was also excellent, service was friendly and fast. Definitely highly recommended!

Review for the restaurant: The food in the restaurant was really tasty and well prepared - the kitchen definitely knows its stuff. Unfortunately, the experience was greatly marred by poor service. Two different employees served us and both were very rude. The service seemed disorganized and not very hospitable. What was particularly disturbing was that the waitress repeatedly made inappropriate jokes that neither fit the occasion nor the atmosphere. Such behavior makes you feel uncomfortable as a guest and spoils the otherwise good dining experience. Overall, the restaurant could do much better if the service was more professional and friendly.

I have never experienced such bad service! We were greeted rudely at the reception. When the food came we were told to be quiet and not speak anymore. I was just chatting quietly with my girlfriend. The food didn't come as ordered and there was something wrong with the bill. At the end there was the stupid joke that we would be banned from the house if we were satisfied. An apology would have been appropriate!

Ein absolutes Muss für den Besuch in Hamburg! Das Essen, die Leute (Mitarbeiter) sowie das Ambiente, einfach Top von vorne bis hinten! Preise sind völlig okay!

Essen und Bedienung so wie beschrieben. Vielleicht einmal die Toilettensitz vom Damen .WC wechseln lassen(Riss). Ansonsten ok.

I've been to Hamburger Ahoi a few times and every time it's delicious! The bowls taste excellent and the “Henssler style is really recommended”. The service is super accommodating and you feel very comfortable. Always worth a meal. It's just a shame that fried fish rolls are no longer offered to go.

After lunch on October 30, 2024, both my son and I had very severe indigestion, I had to vomit and my son had very severe diarrhea. The two chicken bowls must have contained spoiled food; we are considering reporting the case to food monitoring. Spending 76 euros on this is 76 euros too much. Addendum 07.11.24 The reason given is not proof that the two teriaki bowls that my son and I consumed were flawless. I will now contact the food control authorities in Hamburg.

I was really looking forward to visiting you on our short trip to Hamburg. It was pure friendliness and well-being from the moment you entered the restaurant to the moment you left it. We went to the restaurant spontaneously today. Without a reservation, we were lucky and got a table for two people. We were very satisfied overall. Pleasant location, good decor and the order was taken quickly even though it was very busy. The drinks came quickly with popcorn for snacking. Very delicious! The food also came quickly and we tested the burgers. These were very tasty and special requests were implemented. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We had a really great stay and would love to come back. Thanks for that!

Even though it was quite busy, the order was taken and served quite quickly. I had a schnitzel with fries, which was very good and plentiful, but you have to like coriander in the salad. What bothered me, however, was the high level of background noise. Reservation is recommended. Conclusion: I can eat at least as well in my village pub (Ahauser Hof).

I didn’t like the food and is not deserving to go there

I waited in line for 10 minutes so that the unfriendly salesman then explained to me that the paper for rolls had run out. When I point out the paper that was still there, he explained to me that the rolls would take too long and that he wasn't selling enough fries. In short: he simply spontaneously shortened the offer. I had picked something up several times before, always perfect. But this didn't work at all!

Das Essen war wirklich sehr gut. Tipp: Einfach nach 19:30 Uhr essen gehen, da man dann in Ruhe essen kann, ohne das der Tisch noch einmal gebraucht wird 😜. Der Service ist sehr gut. Leider war eine Servicekraft die unmöglich war zu den Gästen. Sonst hätten wir auch volle Punktzahl gegeben. Die Akustik war sehr laut und hektisch zum Abschluss wurde es aber wirklich gut und man konnte alles genießen. Auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung für gutes Essen mit der Chance, dass der Chef vorbei kommt:) Wir haben ihn zum Glück tagsüber in seinem Geschäft Hensslers getroffen und natürlich die Büchergleich mitgenommen. Es war eine Erfahrung im Ahoi Essen zu gehen. Eine Reservierung ist zu empfehlen, es wurden viele Gäste abgewiesen, insbesondere größere Gruppen. Übersichtliche Speisekarte, vorab gab es eine Tasse gesalzenes Popcorn. Das Essen war gut, leider doch nichts besonderes, so wie es von etlichen Menschen gehypt wird, das gewisse Extra im Genuss hatte für uns persönlich gefehlt. Das Essen kam recht schnell, obwohl der Laden bereits um 12Uhr mehr als 50% gefüllt war. Bei der anschließenden Bezahlung & der Frage wie es uns geschmeckt hatte, wollte man kein "negatives" Wort hören, man nahm unsere Anmerkung so hin, es war die übliche Floskel der Mitarbeiter (die auch so sehr desinteressiert & lustlos wirkten).

Das Essen war gut. Hatten uns jedoch etwas mehr versprochen.

I would say classy fast food shop. Unfortunately the quality is no longer what it used to be. This time very greasy. Extremely loud and impersonal. You feel like you're in the chains from the USA.

We just had dinner there, as always very tasty 😋 But the delicious cucumber salad is no longer available, which we thought was a shame 🙁

It was an experience to eat at Ahoi. Reservations are recommended as many guests were turned away, especially larger groups. Clear menu, there was a cup of salted popcorn beforehand. The food was good, but unfortunately nothing special, just as many people hype it up, that certain extra enjoyment was missing for us personally. The food came quite quickly, even though the store was already more than 50% full at 12 p.m. When we subsequently paid and asked how we liked it, they didn't want to hear a "negative" word, they accepted our comment as it was, it was the usual phrase from the employees (who also seemed very disinterested and listless).

You can go there, you shouldn't have excessive expectations, that would be my conclusion. The food was okay, there was chilli cream almost everywhere, yes, you can do that. What annoyed us a bit was the fact that, contrary to what we had read beforehand, there was no gluten-free soy sauce available. Since our daughter has celiac disease, that's always our first look, so the food options were significantly more limited.

All I can say is simply DELICIOUS! Service was super nice and competent.

Das Essen war gut, aber sie waren in Eile. Während des Abendessens wurden wir gefragt, ob wir Nachtisch wollten und während des Abendessens wurden wir gefragt, ob wir Kaffee wollten. Beim Kaffee mussten wir auf Wunsch bezahlen, während wir noch an unserem Kaffee arbeiteten. Dadurch fühlten wir uns gehetzt. Wir verstehen, dass die Küche um 21:00 Uhr schließt, aber es kann trotzdem etwas weniger hektisch zugehen.

Super Service. Sehenswert...echt toll. Schönes Ambiente. Super gutes Essen... große Portionen. Mit Reservierung...ging alles super!
