food was ok. Long waiting time even though it was take-away, plus unfriendly staff (the blonde gentleman was quite unfriendly and the blonde lady only said "Yes, we're already working" every few minutes with a very bitchy undertone).

A rabble-rousing steward at the entrance worked excellently as an appetite suppressant. Left straight away...

Atmosphere and service is great. Food is lacking a bit in our personal opinion and is perhaps a bit overpriced. 3 stars is reasonable in our opinion.

We really wanted to try Steffen Henssler's restaurant at the weekend. Unfortunately, reservations were not possible over Easter, so we had to wait on site until a place became available. However, the staff was really very friendly and accommodating - other restaurants can learn a lesson from that! After about 45 minutes of waiting, we were shown to a table and ordered our food. The chef was very nice and personable, and the entire ambience of the restaurant is really great and well coordinated. However, I expected a little more from the food. When you hear the name Henssler, you immediately think of high standards. Therefore I have to say that I liked the burgers from Hans im Glück better. But tastes are different! All in all, the restaurant is a great shop and definitely worth a visit - especially if you have reserved in advance!

Food tasted great. Can really recommend. The only negative is the toilets. Should be cleaned more often. But that's only on the side. Will come again

I was at a "class reunion" with some classmates in the restaurant, The service was good, the waitress was attentive, compliments for that.. The ambience of the restaurant... well... a barred shelf with devotional items from the namesake, a clear menu... franchise... The taste of the food didn't really impress me. Maybe I'm being too demanding, but I've eaten fried fish and fries of the same - and better - quality many times. The lemonade - passion fruit lemon - tasted good, only the rosemary sprig in it was strange. There was none of that on the menu and it didn't make the taste any better - quite the opposite.

We had reserved in advance. The staff was nice and the food came quickly. We had to wait a little long for dessert. The food tasted delicious, just a bit carelessly prepared. The portion was large. The ambience was great. There is a selfie wall with Steffen Henssler near the toilets.

Simply good, food delicious, service friendly. Unfortunately we had a small misunderstanding with the burger, but that didn't detract from the overall picture. We'd love to come again.

Luckily we had reserved a table on a Monday evening. Very busy, sometimes queues right up to the door. We were given a nice table straight away. The order was taken quickly and the drinks arrived promptly. The wait for the food was reasonable and what came was something to behold. The salad was beautifully prepared and especially the fish n chips in the Henssler style. And... It tasted even better than it looked. The fries are perfect, the fried fish and the entire garnish are super tasty. A pleasure. My wife's salad was equally good. We found the portions to be large and more than enough. Including drinks, we ended up with just under 40 euros. What more could you want? My full recommendation for this stylish restaurant.

Hello dear Ahoi team, there were four of us in your restaurant today, the food was delicious and our service was friendly until we paid. We paid almost 160 euros. The tip was obviously not enough for the waitress, she didn't even accept it and immediately threw it back on the table, turned around and left... It's a shame that the actually successful evening had a bad aftertaste

Ahoy Steffen Henssler Hamburg I ordered a table in advance, online. Great service, everything worked. Despite the noticeable stress, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The service of food and drinks worked perfectly, and there is a lot of activity so it's almost full (there's nothing like a plan that works and it works). The food was super good, thought differently but very nice and convincing. The prices are high but it's 100% worth it. You don't get annoyed about it. So: thumbs up, top TOP. Definitely recommended!

We were very satisfied. Delicious food and very careful and quick service. Everyone tried very hard and the food was prepared very quickly. A special thank you to Mohamad, who really took excellent care of us. Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back.

Food was bad. The fried fish was extremely oily; as if the fat wasn't hot enough. There was hardly any fish under the breading. The bowl was good, quite expensive, but very tasty. The noise backdrop was very loud. The service was very attentive. The food arrived less than 5 minutes after ordering, which doesn't exactly show that the food is freshly prepared.

Great ambience, super nice and fast service with recommendations even if you're a little hungry while passing through. Sweet potato fries and Henssler-style teriaki sauce were incredibly tasty. The tartar sauce consistency was great, I would have liked it to be spicier with the fairly neutral but wonderfully crispy fried shrimp.

Ordered fish and chips and a pommes with two drinks at the bistro. After a long wait, with only one other we got 2 times fish and chips and had to fight for our drinks. Didn’t help that another guy started to help serving while still wearing street clothes. Food served was also more meh than appropriate for the asked prices.

Today, my fiancé and I ate at Ahoi for the first (and unfortunately last) time. He had fish and chips, but unfortunately, the fish was missing: 90% of it was breadcrumbed, dripping with grease and tasting of nothing. The fries were okay. The drinks could be better. Unfortunately, my fiancé has been experiencing severe nausea since our visit, which we assume was triggered by the food at Ahoi, as it started shortly after eating. The fish and shrimp were okay. Overall, unfortunately, disappointing; we can't understand the positive reviews after this visit.

We wanted to come after reading the comments. We hadn't made a reservation. We waited for about 15 minutes, and a place became available on the mezzanine floor. The guy at the reception was a little nervous but said you have to wait, you don't have a reservation, in a grumpy way. As if we had to. Anyway, we ate hamburgers. It was a standard taste. Still, we filled our empty stomachs, thank you.

Went there for dinner today. Very tasty food. Service was very good. Only the ventilation caused a somewhat unpleasant cold feeling. If you had set the temperature 2 to 3 degrees higher then it would have given 5 stars for the ambience and overall. Greetings

We were in Hamburg for three days and happened upon Ahoi. We ordered a currywurst with a bread roll outside. After what felt like an eternity, we received a mini portion of about eight small pieces of currywurst in a cold sauce that tasted bland. The bread roll was also still in the sauce. And we paid almost €7 for it. AHOI

Nice service, good food, will come back

We were always big fans of Ahoy and live in the neighborhood, so we were regulars. Recently, however, the quality has steadily declined. Higher prices, smaller portions and worse service because there are too few employees. Today cold fries, unripe mango (again), practically no red cabbage in the bowl. The only answer to the complaint was that there was a lack of staff and the kitchen was of the opinion that the bowl was exactly the same as always. Unfortunately it wasn't and the complaint was meant as a hint to do better in the future. We've had enough for now. This is how you alienate good guests and, in the long run, lose your originally good reputation. Very unfortunate.

I went there twice and both times the food was really tasty. The service is OK. The order was taken quickly, but then it took a while to arrive. But it was okay. The staff was friendly and tried hard. The shop is beautifully designed but kept simple.

We reserved a table for two at Ahoi Steffen Henssler in Hamburg. Super fast and friendly service, we were allowed to choose the table ourselves. We received very nice advice and the food and drinks were delicious. There is nothing wrong with it, if you are in Hamburg you should pay a visit here.

There were 12 of us at Ahoi, and everyone's food arrived almost at the same time, warm and piping hot, which is a huge plus. I had the panfish, which was excellent and boneless. The passion fruit lemonade was very tasty, but the grapefruit lemonade was a bit watery. The service was very typical of Hamburg, yet friendly and, above all, quick. However, it was actually quite cold in the restaurant.

We really enjoy being at Ahoy. The dishes are very tasty. Unfortunately, the service was a bit stressed, which you could feel. Could have taken a little more time and been a little friendlier. It's still a restaurant and not a bistro. But it suddenly became full at 12:30 p.m.

We have been to Ahoy several times. Both in Hamburg and in Travemünde. Unfortunately things have now gotten worse. Not only has the bowl become more expensive, but it is also slightly smaller and may use cheaper foods in terms of taste. When paying with a card you are essentially forced to give a tip. Too bad.

I just wanted to grab a poultry currywurst during my lunch break... left disappointed 25 minutes later with cold currywurst from the outside sales. It just took so long because the curry sauce was gone... well then: not again!

The bowls are the best I've ever eaten. We were at the Ahoi in Hamburg and Scharbeutz. Both stores have top quality

Unfortunately the food was really only lukewarm! I had a currywurst that wasn't really hot! My wife had fried fish that was almost cold and then it was way too fatty! Unfortunately the churros for €6.90 weren't enough either! Sry!!!!

The fast food outside is a disaster, long waiting times are a shame

Absolute recommendation. The schnitzel with the fries is just 😋. The service is top class. Very happy again. They also respond to customer requests.

We were there for dinner unfortunately the ventilation system was in cooling mode in the middle of winter! So the meal was a disappointment as it was absolutely uncomfortable sitting in the cold air. The problem was pointed out to the condition, but nothing could be changed as there was a defect. Why don't you just turn off the ventilation, was my question? Unfortunately that was the end of the evening for us!

NEGATIVE COMMENTS ARE SIMPLY DELETED HERE! We ate there with my husband on February 22nd and have been lying flat ever since. As a starter we had tuna and then burgers. Diarrhea, stomach problems and nausea 😡 which ruined our two days here in Hamburg. NEVER AGAIN !!

I've been to Hamburger Ahoi a few times and every time it's delicious! The bowls taste excellent and the “Henssler style is really recommended”. The service is super accommodating and you feel very comfortable. Always worth a meal. It's just a shame that fried fish rolls are no longer offered to go.

It's like a canteen, the ventilation was too strong and cool. Food OK but not great. Service initially, grumpy North German due to stress but later nice and friendly.

Booked an appointment at 7:00 p.m. but got there earlier. Our children couldn't take it anymore and a table was rebooked for us without any problems. Thank you again for that, that wasn't a given! We'll definitely be back!

Da mein Freund ein „Fan“ von Steffen Henssler ist, war es für uns ein Muss bei unserem Hamburgbesuch das Ahoi zu besuchen. Wir waren und sind sehr enttäuscht. Der Empfang war mäßig herzlich, das Essen eine Enttäuschung. Das hätten wir an jeder Pommesbude mindestens genauso gut bekommen und dafür weniger Geld bezahlt. Es entsteht der Eindruck mit dem Namen Steffen Henssler muss man sich nicht viel Mühe geben, der Laden läuft auch so. Wir können das Ahoi leider nicht empfehlen. Schade!

Cool place and atmosphere. Unfortunately Took at least 10 mins to even get a "hello" from the staff. Eventually got seated. Then took another 20mins for someone to take the order. Real pity because the food was excellent.

At the age of 52, I ate the "greatest" burger ever there!!! Dear Steffen, you really have designed a mega thing, even if you "Sack" have now sold it and your concept continues to be used and sold... but no matter, that's not the point... And you can continue to collect the money for “naming rights” with peace of mind, because the “team” lives and loves “Ahoy Steffen Hennsler”

Very tasty food with a nice atmosphere! The teriyaki bowl and shrimp n fries were delicious and brought to the table very quickly. The prices are okay in my opinion. Around 20€ (food and drink, without dessert) Can recommend the restaurant!

Delicious food, nice service. Unfortunately, the fact that it is quite drafty in the restaurant means that there is no complete feel-good atmosphere. At least not now in winter. In summer it would probably be 5* 😉

A beautiful location, However, the food was very disappointing. I had a “salmon steak” which was actually a salmon fillet. When ordering, I specifically asked that the salmon be cooked through (not translucent on the inside). I got: a piece of salmon fillet that was even RAW on the inside. The waiter really tried hard and sent it back to the kitchen. My companions have already eaten their food. I was very hungry and had to wait for some time. Then a new salmon fillet arrived, which unfortunately was ALREADY raw on the inside. The waiter could hardly believe his eyes and brought it back to the kitchen. This piece was then heated again to cook it through. It worked on the third attempt. In the meantime, my companions had long since finished eating and I kept myself afloat with the salt. I really have to say that one would have expected more from the name alone. It took three tries and regardless: the menu stated a salmon STEAK, but only a fillet was offered. In summary: The ambience was nice, I certainly can't recommend my food and, in my opinion, didn't speak well of the cuisine.

When it says Hensslers, expectations are high. In my opinion, they weren't fulfilled: the fries had too much sauce and were soggy. I've had better ones at McDonald's. The shrimp was OK. The service was very nice and the food came quickly. Too bad...

Located just off the main shopping high street on a pedestrian road, this restaurant had a lively atmosphere when I visited around 7 PM. Despite being busy, I was seated within five minutes. The interior features an industrial design, with a striking whale painting that adds character to the space. I tried Steffen’s Pflaumenkick, a plum and lemon soda mix that was refreshing but milder than expected. The tuna sushi bowl, however, was excellent well-balanced flavours that came together beautifully. The pork schnitzel was crispy and flavorful, and the fries were perfectly cooked, though they came with mayonnaise by default. While the food was enjoyable, service was on the slower side, likely due to the limited number of staff covering a large area. That said, the team was friendly and doing their best to keep up. Overall, it’s a good spot with tasty dishes, though a bit pricey. With some improvements in service speed, the experience would be even better.

Unfortunately the food is getting worse and worse. I've been eating fish and chips off and on for a few years now. This time with chilli in the sauce. I asked the waiter if there was really chilli in it and he didn't really say it was just the sauce. Unfortunately, things turned out differently. I can't tolerate chilli. The service wasn't really great. Clear it up quickly and move on to the next one. I just had the last bite in my mouth and the plates were cleared away. And the food is almost like in a fast food restaurant. Also prepared. Just put the fish on the fries and you're done.

What to say, whenever I'm in Hamburg I'm returning to this place. We had a very nice time and had so much fun with the staff too. They are really pros. If you like places like in expensive gangster movies then this is a real place for you. Greetings from Serbia!

Nice restaurant decorated as a ship/port theme. You immediately feel at home. Tasty Fish and Chips. Other dishes looked good too

The staff was very nice with popcorn as a starter. I can recommend the bowls and with a cola in such fat glasses you can't complain.
