The food is delicious and the staff is very nice and friendly I can only recommend it

My husband and I went there for dinner yesterday and have been sick ever since. We had tuna for starters and then burgers. Diarrhea, stomach problems and nausea 😡 that ruined our two days here in Hamburg. NEVER AGAIN!!

A beautiful location, However, the food was very disappointing. I had a “salmon steak” which was actually a salmon fillet. When ordering, I specifically asked that the salmon be cooked through (not translucent on the inside). I got: a piece of salmon fillet that was even RAW on the inside. The waiter really tried hard and sent it back to the kitchen. My companions have already eaten their food. I was very hungry and had to wait for some time. Then a new salmon fillet arrived, which unfortunately was ALREADY raw on the inside. The waiter could hardly believe his eyes and brought it back to the kitchen. This piece was then heated again to cook it through. It worked on the third attempt. In the meantime, my companions had long since finished eating and I kept myself afloat with the salt. I really have to say that one would have expected more from the name alone. It took three tries and regardless: the menu stated a salmon STEAK, but only a fillet was offered. In summary: The ambience was nice, I certainly can't recommend my food and, in my opinion, didn't speak well of the cuisine.

When it says Hensslers, expectations are high. In my opinion, they weren't fulfilled: the fries had too much sauce and were soggy. I've had better ones at McDonald's. The shrimp was OK. The service was very nice and the food came quickly. Too bad...

Located just off the main shopping high street on a pedestrian road, this restaurant had a lively atmosphere when I visited around 7 PM. Despite being busy, I was seated within five minutes. The interior features an industrial design, with a striking whale painting that adds character to the space. I tried Steffen’s Pflaumenkick, a plum and lemon soda mix that was refreshing but milder than expected. The tuna sushi bowl, however, was excellent well-balanced flavours that came together beautifully. The pork schnitzel was crispy and flavorful, and the fries were perfectly cooked, though they came with mayonnaise by default. While the food was enjoyable, service was on the slower side, likely due to the limited number of staff covering a large area. That said, the team was friendly and doing their best to keep up. Overall, it’s a good spot with tasty dishes, though a bit pricey. With some improvements in service speed, the experience would be even better.

I've always wanted to eat at Henssler and was really impressed with the sushi bowl and the ambience. We'll definitely do it again

Unfortunately the food is getting worse and worse. I've been eating fish and chips off and on for a few years now. This time with chilli in the sauce. I asked the waiter if there was really chilli in it and he didn't really say it was just the sauce. Unfortunately, things turned out differently. I can't tolerate chilli. The service wasn't really great. Clear it up quickly and move on to the next one. I just had the last bite in my mouth and the plates were cleared away. And the food is almost like in a fast food restaurant. Also prepared. Just put the fish on the fries and you're done.

What to say, whenever I'm in Hamburg I'm returning to this place. We had a very nice time and had so much fun with the staff too. They are really pros. If you like places like in expensive gangster movies then this is a real place for you. Greetings from Serbia!

Nice restaurant decorated as a ship/port theme. You immediately feel at home. Tasty Fish and Chips. Other dishes looked good too

The staff was very nice with popcorn as a starter. I can recommend the bowls and with a cola in such fat glasses you can't complain.

OH WELL! Went in because of the advertisement for an affordable currywurst outside (€6.90), which was €15.50 on the menu at the table. The fries were great, but the curry itself was unfortunately only lukewarm and tasted absolutely nothing special. Every sausage stand makes a better one. It took a long time until we were served (at lunchtime). We were about to get up and leave until they took our order. Ambiance but nice and everything clean and tidy… Wouldn't come back though. Without the Henssler name, this sausage would be complete nonsense.

Just stood in line at the take-out window with a few other customers. When it was my turn after a long wait, the salesman put a sign in front of me saying "I'll be back soon" and said "3 to 4 minutes". Then he turned around and left.

Yesterday we visited Steffen Henssler's Ahoi. Unfortunately we can only give two stars. The name Henssler promises more than the restaurant can deliver. While my wife's salad was okay, I was bitterly disappointed with the fish in batter. The fish was hot, but the fries were lukewarm and hard, as if they had been warmed up again. Unfortunately, the taste of the dish couldn't be beaten in terms of neutrality. The slightly turned up controls didn't seem to mind at all. The whole stay was more reminiscent of a fast food restaurant than of a restaurant run by a person with a big name. Unfortunately, I was reminded of this visit all night long. The food was more than heavy in the stomach. Mr. Henssler would be well advised to check the quality for himself in his own home from time to time.

Uncomplicated table reservations possible online. The two of us arrived an hour early, but were still able to take a seat and were served in a friendly manner. Service friendly and attentive. Food delivered quickly, hot and very tasty!

We have always been big fans of this restaurant, but we are not from Hamburg and noticed on our last visit that the quality of the food had decreased significantly. Personally, I always liked the fish and chips classic, but this time the fish was far too fatty, so I had to leave one of the two fish behind. The fries weren't as good as usual either + now there's one less dip. Such a drastic difference within a year is unbelievable. You can expect more, especially in this price range. Too bad.

I'd love to do it again. Today on January 16th, 2025, mega again as always and we can only recommend it.

Unfortunately we only have to rate it with two stars. As big Henssler fans and during our stay in Hamburg, we didn't want to miss the visit. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to our expectations: it was carelessly prepared and was almost reminiscent of fast food (similar to the North Sea offering). The fries and fried shrimp were simply thrown into a basket. In addition, the food arrived already cold. The service was friendly and the ambience was pleasant. But the food itself wasn't what we had hoped for. Disappointing. So we probably won't be visiting again.

Ahoy from Hamburg! Last evening of our tour between red lights and cool breeze. We had already been to Henssler & Henssler some time ago and had to try it out at Ahoi. We were surprised at the situation. Our table was waiting for us behind the train station and in the middle of the shopping street. The location inside is very stylish and, despite the modernity, has Hamburg charm 😃 We recommend the fried fish 🐟 and the teriyaki burger 🍔 We didn't like the really bad ventilation in the kitchen at all. If you want to leave afterwards, you should definitely change your clothes again.

Great location. Every seat was taken. Still super well structured and very friendly staff. No long waiting times. Very tasty tuna steak and, above all, very aromatically seasoned, in contrast to the usually bland cuisine in other restaurants.

Food is always delicious at Ahoi. Reservation of seats in advance is highly recommended. Otherwise a long wait, but it's worth it.

The food there is good and the staff are friendly. But what happened today when I visited is simply not possible. I went in there with 5 people and there wasn't that long of a line and I was told to come back after half an hour. But I said that I would also wait to get a place. But I was again instructed to come half an hour later. Neither my last name nor anything was written down to confirm my identity for a seat after half an hour. I came after half an hour and the line went all the way outside. I wanted to talk to the employee who told me to come back after half an hour because I felt like I had been attacked. I should get back in line and wait. We were then greeted unfriendly, even though we just wanted to ask what it was like now that we were told to come back. That's why I don't eat there anymore.

We were guests at Ahoi/Hamburg once again. The service was very good and quick. The employees are nice and friendly. The food is very tasty. The portions are reasonable and the price-performance ratio is right. It's always nice to dine there. The quality of the restaurant is as you would expect from Steffen Henssler.

I have to say, unfortunately the food didn't entirely convince me today. While the service was friendly and attentive, the ambience was just average. The tables were really very close together, which was a bit uncomfortable. And unfortunately I didn't find the price-performance ratio to be entirely justified. I don't normally do reviews but I have to do it here. It was clear to us from the start that this restaurant would not be a culinary specialty, but we were very disappointed by the quality. We ordered classic fish and chips, where there was more breading on the fish than fish, which was also incredibly greasy and doughy. Unfortunately, the fish itself tasted like nothing but fat. Selling it for €16.50 is funny. When the waiter came at the end and asked us if everything was tasty, I gave exactly these criticism points again. Unfortunately, he couldn't stand still to listen to me and while he was cleaning up another table next door, nor could he look me in the eyes, which makes you really wonder why ask if it isn't taken seriously anyway. I honestly don't know why the recipe was changed there, but compared to 2020, that's a huge downgrade.

As we strolled through the city, the store caught our eye straight away. We hadn't reserved a table, so we had to wait in front of a sign. But we were a little lucky with the time of day and so we only had to wait around 5 minutes for a table. Not only did we like the first impression of the ambience, but it was also confirmed by an absolutely excellent meal (fries, burgers, mega baked goods). The dessert (churros, unfortunately no picture) rounded things off. Absolutely recommended. We are guaranteed to eat here again the next time we visit Hamburg. Thanks for Steffen and his team.

I've already enjoyed the third round with him... the FRIED TUNA SASHIMI with ponzu sauce is a dream and a must! You can definitely treat yourself.

My girlfriend and I are visiting Hamburg for the second time - when we walked past AHOI yesterday, we knew: we wanted to eat here 😁 We then reserved 2 seats and were there almost 15 minutes early - but still no problem. We were escorted inside and were even allowed to choose the spot - we chose the quieter, cozy corners 😊 Finally the card came - EVERYTHING please! An incredibly diverse selection. We decided on a classic & a bowl. The food is amazing! It's a shame that we're only in Hamburg for such a short time - otherwise we would definitely have gone there again. The location is great: great atmosphere, courteous service, great food! Keep it up, AHOI crew - we'll be back 😊

I was there for lunch today, I ordered what I always ordered, but this time it was halved, for example avocado mango rice and everything that was on it. When I asked, the waiters said unfortunately from April onwards it would be like that. I think that's not correct

Short early dinner without reservation. The two of us had a small bite to eat today. Without a reservation we were lucky to get a table at around 4:30 p.m. Service was quick and friendly. The bowls were really tasty and are recommended. Logically, it is not a restaurant for fine dining. But you should also know that. But what we ate tasted great. The ambience was also great. Not too loud despite the place being full. There are no criticisms.

The dishes were, as always, very tasty. Very busy restaurant. Reservations might be an advantage. Price/performance ratio is ok.

I just ate currywurst with “Hensler Style” fries there - I wonder where the “Hensler Style” was. The fries were no better than at the snack bar, the sausage was very thin and - yes it was veal - but the taste wasn't that great. The sauce is very bland so I'm still looking for the curry taste. For that 16.50 euros is 10 euros too much. Popcorn was offered as a sidekick on all tables except for us. The second dish, fish and chips, was also not good. The fish was completely submerged in the fat-soaked beer breading. The service was subpar. Conclusion: Next time, skip Hensler Style and go to the classic snack bar instead!

As always, simply delicious, great service, the new colleague who started on Saturday was in a really good mood. We say see you next time.

The Ahoi is located on Spitalerstrasse in Hamburg. The reservation went smoothly. The restaurant was stylish, nicely decorated and clean. Toilets are available on the lower floor. The service was friendly. I ordered the Pink Salt Edamame as a starter, the Chicken Teriyaki Salad as a starter and the Teriyaki Beef Burger as the main course. Unfortunately EVERYTHING came at once and the edamame (starter) were forgotten, as was the pepper mill twice, which I thought was a shame and could certainly be improved! The salad was tasty but didn't knock my socks off. The burger was tasty but unfortunately the buns were dry. To be honest, I expected more from Steffen Henssler's Ahoy. Price/performance OK. Thank you very much.

Nette Location, direkt am Wasser, moderne Einrichtung! Personal freundlich aber nicht kompetent, da keine konkreten Informationen zum Essen vorhanden sind! Hauptspeisen waren gut, Nachtisch alles „fertig Gerichte“ , angetrocknetes Tiramisu und der Espresso total wässrig! Auf Anfrage „Kritik“ bekommt man keine Antwort und geht einfach vom Tisch! Sehr unprofessional!

Today we had dinner with 6 people. Among other things, 3 burgers, the fries with onions and the dip were delicious. The burger had a neutral taste and nothing special. I was hoping for a lot more, every street food burger is better. The ambience was nice and pleasant. The waitresses were friendly but not very attentive towards the end. In my opinion, the name is more impressive than the food.

The food itself is still very good, the bowl is significantly smaller compared to two years ago. Service friendly, but could be more attentive. Price for a homemade iced tea 0.4l with a touch of mango, €6.90 is excessive for me.

We ate there yesterday with our company (27 people) and the food was really delicious. Four waiters served us, which is certainly stressful with so many orders and most people noticed that. But Valed stood out for his professionalism and friendliness. He was attentive, cordial and served us excellently until the end. Kudos to him.

We really liked the decor, style, staff and of course the food. You should definitely do it when you are in Hamburg. Maybe it's better to reserve.

Unfortunately not recommended, fish was breaded, was mainly batter, and didn't taste good at all, the food plagued us all day. Currywurst was inedible, was already old, when I asked, the explanation was that it was made in the oven and therefore had wrinkled, hard skin. I left it, no apology or anything. When we paid he came back and said, I told the kitchen, "we may need another supplier...some people have already complained" but no replacement. Toilet and restaurant not really inviting. There are piles of ready-baked fried fish in the kitchen. Unfortunately, we didn't notice anything about it being freshly prepared.

Yes, there are burgers and fried fish with fries in countless places elsewhere. But not as good as here! The Hennsler style topping with fresh coriander on the fries or Steffen's favorite dressing and cranberries in the salad are just that certain something that makes the location compatible with tourists and therefore the overall concept work. A very clear recommendation!

Highly recommended! You might think I can't afford that, but you'll be pleasantly surprised. Super super friendly staff and a very attractive interior design shine right from the reception. All hygiene rules are implemented very well so that you can enjoy your stay without any worries. The menu is clear but still offers a good selection of dishes at moderate prices. Just the sight of the food being served brings great joy; then the taste! So I'll be raving about these fries for a long time and hope that I'll be able to enjoy them again at some point. The dip and the fish are also simply brilliant! Keep it up!

Sehr netter Service und ein wirklich gutes Essen. Wir hatten Fish&Chips und einen Bürger. Ja, bekommt man auch anderswo. Aber hier hat es einfach mal anders und sehr gut geschmeckt.

Ich hatte gedacht, das kann ja wohl alles nicht wahr sein. Wir waren hier für eine kurze, geschäftliche Besprechung und hatten richtig Hunger, weil wir den ganzen Tag gearbeitet haben, die Pommes Frites mit einer kleinen Auflage, aus tiefgekühlten Knuspershrimps bestehend, haben wirklich ca.23 Euro gekostet. Hatte Nordsee Niveau nur, dass dort die Portionen um einiges großzügiger sind. Beim Service passierten mehrere Fehler, allerdings waren die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich. Mit einer Limonade und einem Sartispritz habe ich fast 40 Euro bezahlt. Das Gesamterlebnis beweist , dass Herr Henssler kein seriöser Geschäftsmann sein kann, sondern auf Touriabzocke setzt.Schade, wir werden seine Restaurants weder empfehlen, noch jemals wieder aufsuchen.

Das Essen war das Geld nicht wert fast 30 € für ein paar Pommes und fünf Tiefkühl Garnelen und ein Glas Wein- wirklich besser zur Nordsee gehen oder Daniel Wischer. Service etwas zerstreut aber nett- der Laden sieht mich nicht noch einmal wieder.

Absolutely recommended!! Nice service and really good food for my taste. I had the teriyaki chicken bowl, my wife had the chicken teriyaki salad and my daughter had currywurst with fries. Everything very tasty! Great seasoning and absolutely ok value for money for Hamburg city. At peak times you have to be lucky, wait, or just make a reservation. Even though it was really busy when we visited, the food was at the table in a really good time frame. Respect to the kitchen!!

hatten von der Tochter nen Gutschein bekommen und wollten mal was "neues" Testen, das Essen war auch super lecker - war nur`n bißchen wenig aufm Teller, es war auch recht voll und dadurch auch laut (Samstagabends). Preise nicht günstig - man bezahlt halt den Namen.
