Food was super delicious..It was the first time in Hamburg and I had to go there on the first day..I will definitely go again on my next visit

The name attracted me. I was a bit disappointed with the food. I had the standard teriyaki beef burger. It was okay, but nothing special. The beef was cooked thoroughly, but not dry. I wasn't asked beforehand if I wanted it well done. Overall, a good meal at a higher price. You pay the namesake. They deserve it. The service was very friendly and accommodating. I had to wait a bit because I didn't have a reservation.

Very tasty and well-made. Excellent service, too. I'd happily return. Excellent value for money.

Really impressed on the first visit.

Unfortunately, I can't rate the food at ahoi because, with the exception of one salad, all dishes contain gluten, and as a person with celiac disease, I rely on gluten-free options. Of course, I don't assume I can always eat all the dishes. But if all the sushi, all the bowls, and even the currywurst contain gluten, the owner is definitely excluding a certain group of people. The service was also completely overwhelmed by the issue. These days, you can get good gluten-free food in almost every restaurant, but unfortunately, ahoi isn't one of them.

The food was average, the waiting time for fish & chips was 40 minutes, which is definitely too long.

Two of us were there today and were unfortunately quite disappointed. After a short wait, we were shown to a table and received our menus fairly quickly. After that, however, nothing happened for a long time – we couldn't place our order for about 20-30 minutes because no one came to the table. Several attempts to get the waitress's attention were unsuccessful. Finally, we approached another waiter and politely asked if we could finally order. His annoyed and disinterested response ("The waitress will be here shortly, please be patient") was unfortunately the icing on the cake of an already bad mood. The fish & chips tasted okay, but the sushi was unfortunately inedible. Overall, a disappointing visit.

After having a truly delicious herring roll at the snack bar the day before, we had high expectations that the restaurant would be just as delicious. The service staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was served quickly. Unfortunately, the burger and spaetzle didn't impress us. The spaetzle, in particular, were far too dry. It could be better. The bowl was good, but nothing special. Sorry, but we really expected more, because the bar is set high.

The two of us went to Ahoi for dinner this weekend. After the starter, we thought we'd get our main course soon. Unfortunately, however, visitors who arrived 20 minutes later than us received their food much earlier, and we had to wait even longer. Overall, we received our food 60 minutes after ordering. This was unfortunately a kitchen organizational error. In any other restaurant, they would have removed a drink as a gesture of goodwill, but here they couldn't even write off the water ordered for the customer. The waiter did his best, which we found very accommodating. But a situation like this in the kitchen? It sticks with you. Even the fact that a coffee was offered unfortunately doesn't help. This could only have been resolved financially.

We were in Hamburg over the weekend and tried Ahoi. The atmosphere was great, the food was really delicious, and we were very full. It was also reasonably priced. The only downside was the waiters, who weren't particularly motivated. We'd love to come back for dinner when we're back in Hamburg!

The ambiance and food are excellent. We ordered several bowls and a chicken burger. The decor of the shop is very detailed, and you immediately know you're in Hamburg. The sushi rice in the bowl was cooked to perfection, and the tuna was also very tasty. For my taste, there was a bit too much mayonnaise, but otherwise everything was great. The homemade lemonade was also very tasty.

The menu is different than expected, but some dishes are available in different versions, for example, Henseler Style. We had Fish 'n' Chips, Shrimp 'n' Chips Henseler Style, and fresh fries. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. The prices are also absolutely reasonable for the quality.

Wir waren zum Abendessen im Ahoi Henssler im Hamburg. Der Service und die Mitarbeiter waren sehr nett, freundlich und fürsorglich. Wir hatten Fish&Chips, die Portion war sehr ausreichend, aber leider der ist der Fisch zwei Mal gestorben! Der Bierteig war außen richtig knusprig und innen noch matschig, der Fisch war total trocken. Das schlimmste in dem Lokal waren aber die Toiletten, schlimmer als jede Bahnhofstoilette! Kein Toilettenpapier und kein Handtuchpapier. Der Boden absolut verdreckt. Wo ist denn hier der Inhaber der mal nach dem Rechten schaut? Wir kommen sicherlich nicht wieder. Fisch kann man in Hamburg fast überall besser essen.

Das Restaurant ist stilvoll eingerichtet und wirkt auf den ersten Blick sehr einladend. Trotz nur halb gefülltem Gastraum mussten wir jedoch recht lange warten, bis unsere Bestellung aufgenommen wurde. Zu unserer Enttäuschung erfuhren wir dann gleich zu Beginn, dass der Sushireis bereits um 18:30 Uhr aus war – sämtliche Sushi-Gerichte konnten daher nur noch mit Pommes als Beilage bestellt werden, was den Gesamteindruck deutlich trübte. Das Essen selbst – wir hatten Burger – war geschmacklich in Ordnung. Allerdings wurde eine Beilage falsch serviert, und der als Vorspeise bestellte Salat kam erst einige Minuten nach dem Hauptgang. Nach dem Essen blieb der Tisch weitere 30 Minuten unberührt, ohne dass abgeräumt wurde. Wir entschieden uns schließlich, direkt zu zahlen und zu gehen. Insgesamt war der Besuch leider enttäuschend – wir würden wohl nicht noch einmal wiederkommen.

Habe einen Burger mit Süßkartoffel Pommes bestellt. Die Pommes waren leider etwas verbrannt. Der Burger schmeckte so lala. Nichts besonderes. Das Bun war meiner Meinung nach Industrieware, genauso das Patty, viel zu stark gepresst. Ich werde nicht wiederkommen.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am deeply shocked by the incident at your restaurant. We wanted to eat at the restaurant today. As we entered and wanted to use the restroom first, an employee stopped us. He asked us where we were going. When I replied that we wanted to use the restroom before ordering our food, we were not only denied access to the restroom, but the staff also called us "disrespectful" for going to the restroom without asking! Moreover, it was at such a volume that all the other guests heard it. And to add to the audacity, I was asked if it was okay for the employee to choose my restroom without asking! This statement is not only inappropriate, but also offensive and disrespectful. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable! I await a response.

Wir hatten reserviert und es hat alles geklappt. Service war sehr nett und das Essen gut. Leider habe ich das falsche Essen bekommen. Ich hatte das bemerkt und gesagt, dass es kein Thema für mich ist, sie müssten kein neues machen, ich nehme dieses Essen. Hätte ein neues bekommen, aber tatsächlich verzichtet, was wirklich kein Problem für mich war. Schön wäre gewesen, es hätte einen Schnaps oder Espresso auf‘s Haus gegeben. Aber auch hier beiße ich mich nicht fest, denn es war meine Entscheidung. Mir fehlt halt der Servicegedanke. Was ich jedoch als super negativ bemerken muss- die Toiletten ( Damen und Herren) sind unterirdisch verschmutzt, in jeder öffentlichen Bedürfnisanstalt sieht es besser aus. Da ist sehr viel Luft nach oben. Deswegen auch nur 3 Punkte.

In a nutshell: An overhyped place with top-notch service (the waiter is a feast for the eyes 😍 and knows his stuff) and a very nice atmosphere inside. Outside, it's more of a pedestrian zone atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food is the problem – more on the level of a chip shop. The burgers, fries, etc. didn't really convince us. And unfortunately, you can't beat the friendly waiter or the atmosphere. Recommendation: Look around, drink – house soda – chat, and leave 🙋🏼‍♂️

There were four of us, got a table right away without a reservation, and were served by a "Hamburger Kodderschnauze" (a snobby hamburger) waitress. Awesome. The food is okay. I'd say the price is a bit higher. In the end, it's a slightly better fish restaurant. The ambiance is a matter of taste; I've seen some pretty bad decor 😉 If you're not a fish person like me, you'll find good alternatives, and anyone who knows Hensssler can expect exceptional fries. But as I said, at the end of the day, they're just fries, and you just can't reinvent them 🤷🏻‍♀️ But go there and see for yourself. The whole place is cool, you can do it 👍🏻

My meal (teriyaki bowl) was incredibly delicious. My husband's schnitzel was bland, and the salad that came with it was tasteless. The atmosphere is like a train station. Since it's a trendy spot, it was accordingly packed. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait. You can't go without a reservation. The service was friendly, but they should have come back to the table for a second round of drinks. That didn't happen. It gives the impression that guests shouldn't linger long. I thought that was a real shame.

The food came quickly and was very tasty. The waiter was great.

We had reserved for 8 p.m. but were already there at 7 p.m. The welcome was warm and they even allowed us to be seated earlier. For starters we had the Edame with pink salt, tomato chili cream soup and fries Henßler style. The starter was great and it's amazing what you can get out of fries. The main course was children's schnitzel with fries, a Cryspie shrimp bowl with ponzu butter and the Tuna Bowl with ponzu butter. Our son gobbled up the schnitzel. My wife's bowl with the Cryspie shrimp was absolutely delicious, nothing to complain about. Simply perfect. And now for my tuna bowl. I've eaten a lot in my life, from fast food to my mother's cooking to food in other countries and even in Michelin-starred restaurants. But the bowl was the best thing I've eaten in my life. It was perfection. The textures, the taste, I can't describe it. It was next level. Absolutely amazing.

Absolutely terrible service. Despite having a reservation, you still haven't been seated after a 20-minute wait. Unfriendly staff who offer a family with children a glass of Prosecco as an apology. I highly recommend staying away. Rude and disrespectful staff. This needs to be improved urgently.

The service from Mo/Mohammed was unobtrusively friendly and very attentive! Exactly how it should be. The food is truly top-notch—fresh, delicious, and high-quality. Unfortunately, this positive impression is always marred by the service. Several times, we've had to wait a very long time, both for our orders and for the food itself. The service often seems overwhelmed and disorganized. It's a shame, because the food actually deserves a better overall rating.

We waited almost an hour for our food after the appetizer... The kids' burger only contained bread, beef, tomato, and a few onions! My son (who ordered the burger without tomatoes and onions) would have preferred it better!! The chicken skewers in teriyaki sauce were completely coated in the sauce, so you could only pick them up if you also smeared your fingers with the sauce. It shouldn't have been like that. Overall, we're not very impressed! We'd actually give it two and a half stars!

Hensler's name is on the menu. But personally, I don't really like it there that much. We went there spontaneously because our preferred place unfortunately didn't live up to our expectations. We got a table quickly (Friday around 5:30 p.m.). We both opted for fish & chips, with me getting the deluxe version and my companion the regular portion. The food arrived quickly and looked OK. But for the price, I found it rather meager: a couple of fries with two rather dry baked fish fillets. Over 20 euros... What a shame. The coffee, though, was very, very tasty. The atmosphere was trendy, but it wasn't my thing.

Unfortunately, the food didn't impress me, especially considering the "star chef" behind it. They should reexamine themselves and perhaps put a little more love into their food. Sorry, that was my first/last visit. It's cheaper at the train station.

We've eaten here every time we're in Hamburg. We were there yesterday, too. We were extremely disappointed by how poor the service has become. The stairs to the restrooms were extremely dirty. My schnitzel had no flavor, even though there was no sauce on it. A tenth of the plate was covered in condiments, too many to eat.

Had the schnitzel... it was smothered in grease and squashed like a sheet of paper. It had a disgusting taste. The fries that came with it were old.

A spontaneous visit to ahoi! with a desire to repeat. We arrived at Steffen Henssler's restaurant ahoi! without a reservation and were informed by the receptionist that we would have to vacate the table by 7:00 PM, which was no problem for us. Our service was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, there was a small problem with the software or the receipt printer at the beginning, which meant we had to wait a bit for our drinks. The food, however, absolutely made up for this short wait! We enjoyed it so much that we went back to ahoi! the very next day. Everything went smoothly on our second visit. Conclusion: Despite a slight initial hiccup on our first visit, the delicious food and friendly service at ahoi! won us over. The fact that we returned the very next day speaks for itself. We can definitely recommend the restaurant!

Stopped in for lunch during a shopping trip. We got a seat right away. We sat at a table for four further back in the store, which was ideal for children. This way, they could watch the cooking and the hustle and bustle in the restaurant. The food was delicious, and considering the quality, the prices were perfectly reasonable.

Visit on May 15, 2025: The service and ambiance were okay. The background music, however, was a boring whine that seemed to have no beginning or end, or was played on an endless loop. The food? We had classic fish and chips, which is fast food. The dish was served very hot. Excellent. The fries, however, had a strange aftertaste. Perhaps made worse by some kind of spice? The mayonnaise wasn't the usual standard, but a pinkish, homemade blend, which didn't help the taste.

We ate here three times in two days. Need I say more? Delicious food, friendly staff. We come here every time we vacation in Hamburg (we're from Vienna).

Location is something different, waitress was cool and attentive. Food came very quickly, but unfortunately it was very bland.

Hier wird im Außenbereich unterschieden zwischen Imbiss und Restaurant- Besuchern, durch unterschiedliche Bestuhlung auf der Terrasse. Ansonsten ist es weder markiert noch besonders offensichtlich…. Wir haben uns am Imbiss Fish & Chips und Wasser bestellt um es direkt vor Ort zu essen. Der Imbissbereich hat 6 Tische die alle besetzt waren. Also haben wir uns in den anderen Bereich gesetzt, in den ungefähr die Hälfte der Tische ( ca 15 Stück) frei waren. Es kam direkt ein Kellner zu uns um uns dort wegzuschicken. Es täte ihm auch leid, aber so seien nun mal die Regeln. Ich war mit zwei Kindern unterwegs, die das nicht im Stehen essen können. Ich habe mich daraufhin noch mal an die Restaurantleiterin/ Schichtleiterin gewandt und auch die hielt an den allgemeinen Regeln fest, trotz 15 freier Tische…. Ich verstehe, dass es einen Unterschied gibt in der Mwst und , dass im Restaurant Bereich Service dabei ist. Alles nachvollziehbar, aber wenn 15 Tische nicht besetzt sind, schickt man Kunden weg??? Da fehlt mir ein bisschen Flexibilität und Herz für den Gast! Wir sind bisher immer gerne hergekommen. Jetzt werden wir uns ein neuen Fish & Chips Laden suchen. Schade!

I was there last week. First of all we had to wait in line for a long time and then we thought, ouch, then it must be good. Then at the table with the food, in the background the big sign "awesome schnitzel"... Well, that was nothing. The food was really expensive and not even good, the schnitzel was gristly and tasteless. After I told the waiter, he said I could get an espresso on the house, and when I said that I didn't drink coffee/espresso, the gastro team had apparently already discussed the issue. Bad service, bad food. Not again.
