The food is truly an absolute feast for the palate – every dish was perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, and tasted at the highest level. I would especially like to highlight the tiramisu – it was truly mouth-watering! 😍 The service was also top-notch: The waiter was extremely friendly, attentive, and professional, without being intrusive. You immediately felt comfortable and welcome. The restaurant's location is also great – central yet relaxed. Everything is just right: ambiance, quality, service, and taste. If you love good food, this is the place for you! Top value for money, top, top! We definitely recommend it – 5 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – we'll definitely be back!

Dear Sir or Madam, I am deeply shocked by the incident at your restaurant. We wanted to eat at the restaurant today. As we entered and wanted to use the restroom first, an employee stopped us. He asked us where we were going. When I replied that we wanted to use the restroom before ordering our food, we were not only denied access to the restroom, but the staff also called us "disrespectful" for going to the restroom without asking! Moreover, it was at such a volume that all the other guests heard it. And to add to the audacity, I was asked if it was okay for the employee to choose my restroom without asking! This statement is not only inappropriate, but also offensive and disrespectful. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable! I await a response.

In a nutshell: An overhyped place with top-notch service (the waiter is a feast for the eyes 😍 and knows his stuff) and a very nice atmosphere inside. Outside, it's more of a pedestrian zone atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food is the problem – more on the level of a chip shop. The burgers, fries, etc. didn't really convince us. And unfortunately, you can't beat the friendly waiter or the atmosphere. Recommendation: Look around, drink – house soda – chat, and leave 🙋🏼‍♂️

There were four of us, got a table right away without a reservation, and were served by a "Hamburger Kodderschnauze" (a snobby hamburger) waitress. Awesome. The food is okay. I'd say the price is a bit higher. In the end, it's a slightly better fish restaurant. The ambiance is a matter of taste; I've seen some pretty bad decor 😉 If you're not a fish person like me, you'll find good alternatives, and anyone who knows Hensssler can expect exceptional fries. But as I said, at the end of the day, they're just fries, and you just can't reinvent them 🤷🏻‍♀️ But go there and see for yourself. The whole place is cool, you can do it 👍🏻

Waited forever for cold food and drinks. Took over 20 minutes for the servers to even take our orders. Got drinks after 45 minutes.

My meal (teriyaki bowl) was incredibly delicious. My husband's schnitzel was bland, and the salad that came with it was tasteless. The atmosphere is like a train station. Since it's a trendy spot, it was accordingly packed. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait. You can't go without a reservation. The service was friendly, but they should have come back to the table for a second round of drinks. That didn't happen. It gives the impression that guests shouldn't linger long. I thought that was a real shame.

We had reserved for 8 p.m. but were already there at 7 p.m. The welcome was warm and they even allowed us to be seated earlier. For starters we had the Edame with pink salt, tomato chili cream soup and fries Henßler style. The starter was great and it's amazing what you can get out of fries. The main course was children's schnitzel with fries, a Cryspie shrimp bowl with ponzu butter and the Tuna Bowl with ponzu butter. Our son gobbled up the schnitzel. My wife's bowl with the Cryspie shrimp was absolutely delicious, nothing to complain about. Simply perfect. And now for my tuna bowl. I've eaten a lot in my life, from fast food to my mother's cooking to food in other countries and even in Michelin-starred restaurants. But the bowl was the best thing I've eaten in my life. It was perfection. The textures, the taste, I can't describe it. It was next level. Absolutely amazing.

Absolutely terrible service. Despite having a reservation, you still haven't been seated after a 20-minute wait. Unfriendly staff who offer a family with children a glass of Prosecco as an apology. I highly recommend staying away. Rude and disrespectful staff. This needs to be improved urgently.

The food is truly top-notch—fresh, delicious, and high-quality. Unfortunately, this positive impression is always marred by the service. Several times, we've had to wait a very long time, both for our orders and for the food itself. The service often seems overwhelmed and disorganized. It's a shame, because the food actually deserves a better overall rating.

We waited almost an hour for our food after the appetizer... The kids' burger only contained bread, beef, tomato, and a few onions! My son (who ordered the burger without tomatoes and onions) would have preferred it better!! The chicken skewers in teriyaki sauce were completely coated in the sauce, so you could only pick them up if you also smeared your fingers with the sauce. It shouldn't have been like that. Overall, we're not very impressed! We'd actually give it two and a half stars!

Takeaway counter. Definitely try the herring roll with the sauce. For me, the herring was one of the best dishes of the Hamburg weekend.

Hensler's name is on the menu. But personally, I don't really like it there that much. We went there spontaneously because our preferred place unfortunately didn't live up to our expectations. We got a table quickly (Friday around 5:30 p.m.). We both opted for fish & chips, with me getting the deluxe version and my companion the regular portion. The food arrived quickly and looked OK. But for the price, I found it rather meager: a couple of fries with two rather dry baked fish fillets. Over 20 euros... What a shame. The coffee, though, was very, very tasty. The atmosphere was trendy, but it wasn't my thing.

Unfortunately, the food didn't impress me, especially considering the "star chef" behind it. They should reexamine themselves and perhaps put a little more love into their food. Sorry, that was my first/last visit. It's cheaper at the train station.

We've eaten here every time we're in Hamburg. We were there yesterday, too. We were extremely disappointed by how poor the service has become. The stairs to the restrooms were extremely dirty. My schnitzel had no flavor, even though there was no sauce on it. A tenth of the plate was covered in condiments, too many to eat.

Had the schnitzel... it was smothered in grease and squashed like a sheet of paper. It had a disgusting taste. The fries that came with it were old.

A spontaneous visit to ahoi! with a desire to repeat. We arrived at Steffen Henssler's restaurant ahoi! without a reservation and were informed by the receptionist that we would have to vacate the table by 7:00 PM, which was no problem for us. Our service was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, there was a small problem with the software or the receipt printer at the beginning, which meant we had to wait a bit for our drinks. The food, however, absolutely made up for this short wait! We enjoyed it so much that we went back to ahoi! the very next day. Everything went smoothly on our second visit. Conclusion: Despite a slight initial hiccup on our first visit, the delicious food and friendly service at ahoi! won us over. The fact that we returned the very next day speaks for itself. We can definitely recommend the restaurant!

We were there today for the first time, but not the last. We had chicken burgers and fried fish, both delicious and the sauces that came with them were truly amazing. The service was super friendly. Absolutely thumbs up.

Stopped in for lunch during a shopping trip. We got a seat right away. We sat at a table for four further back in the store, which was ideal for children. This way, they could watch the cooking and the hustle and bustle in the restaurant. The food was delicious, and considering the quality, the prices were perfectly reasonable.

Visit on May 15, 2025: The service and ambiance were okay. The background music, however, was a boring whine that seemed to have no beginning or end, or was played on an endless loop. The food? We had classic fish and chips, which is fast food. The dish was served very hot. Excellent. The fries, however, had a strange aftertaste. Perhaps made worse by some kind of spice? The mayonnaise wasn't the usual standard, but a pinkish, homemade blend, which didn't help the taste.

We ate here three times in two days. Need I say more? Delicious food, friendly staff. We come here every time we vacation in Hamburg (we're from Vienna).

Location is something different, waitress was cool and attentive. Food came very quickly, but unfortunately it was very bland.

Hier wird im Außenbereich unterschieden zwischen Imbiss und Restaurant- Besuchern, durch unterschiedliche Bestuhlung auf der Terrasse. Ansonsten ist es weder markiert noch besonders offensichtlich…. Wir haben uns am Imbiss Fish & Chips und Wasser bestellt um es direkt vor Ort zu essen. Der Imbissbereich hat 6 Tische die alle besetzt waren. Also haben wir uns in den anderen Bereich gesetzt, in den ungefähr die Hälfte der Tische ( ca 15 Stück) frei waren. Es kam direkt ein Kellner zu uns um uns dort wegzuschicken. Es täte ihm auch leid, aber so seien nun mal die Regeln. Ich war mit zwei Kindern unterwegs, die das nicht im Stehen essen können. Ich habe mich daraufhin noch mal an die Restaurantleiterin/ Schichtleiterin gewandt und auch die hielt an den allgemeinen Regeln fest, trotz 15 freier Tische…. Ich verstehe, dass es einen Unterschied gibt in der Mwst und , dass im Restaurant Bereich Service dabei ist. Alles nachvollziehbar, aber wenn 15 Tische nicht besetzt sind, schickt man Kunden weg??? Da fehlt mir ein bisschen Flexibilität und Herz für den Gast! Wir sind bisher immer gerne hergekommen. Jetzt werden wir uns ein neuen Fish & Chips Laden suchen. Schade!

I was there last week. First of all we had to wait in line for a long time and then we thought, ouch, then it must be good. Then at the table with the food, in the background the big sign "awesome schnitzel"... Well, that was nothing. The food was really expensive and not even good, the schnitzel was gristly and tasteless. After I told the waiter, he said I could get an espresso on the house, and when I said that I didn't drink coffee/espresso, the gastro team had apparently already discussed the issue. Bad service, bad food. Not again.

FOOD POISONING!!!! When we arrived at the store, the waiter was noticeably not interested in us at all and after the burger and fries, the weekend trip ended immediately after dinner in the hotel room with an emergency doctor! I can only hope that everything went well here. The impression was different.

Food and portion sizes were good. The service was courteous and nice. Gladly again!

Wir hatten rechtzeitig reserviert. Der Kellner war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Auch das Nachordern von Getränken hat gut geklappt. Das Essen hat allen geschmeckt, egal ob Currywurst, Burger oder Bowl. Wir kommen gern wieder.

We were visiting from Berlin for the weekend. We made reservations in advance via Open Table. We were there on time and due to the high occupancy we waited a short time. Absolutely not an issue. Our impression regarding the reservation was that it probably didn't play a big role since we weren't even asked for the name. No matter, we got a place. At Open Table you can enter a reason for the reservation. However, this has no further influence on the reservation and is not taken into account. Our “date” was still great. The ambience was great and totally appropriate to the concept. The service was super nice, attentive and very competent. The food came very quickly and my wife's small special request was fully taken into account. I had the shrimp bowl and it was outstanding!!! Very tasty and all components harmonized perfectly. I could eat a whole bathtub full!!! Prices are on the higher side, but the amount of staff and the location have to be paid for somehow. Still, you get something for your money. Absolutely recommended. Thank you very much and we will be back.

Were at Ahoi Hamburg on April 25, 2025. We had reserved beforehand, but then arrived about 15 minutes early, which was no problem at all. A super great service. Food was fantastic.

We had made reservations with decorations for our birthday, which unfortunately were missing. The food was, as always, very tasty, but we had to wait quite a long time for the food. Toilets have also been cleaner even though someone is sitting down there with a plate and expecting money. For what?

We've already been to one or two Ahoy, it's certainly always nice, but I feel that the quality is declining a bit. The fries with coriander are always amazing and my absolute highlight. I really enjoy eating the panfish, but this time it was only mass-produced for me. I really hope for next time. Unfortunately, the service was completely understaffed this time and our food was almost eaten by the time we got our drinks. Very unfortunate.

We really wanted to try Steffen Henssler's restaurant at the weekend. Unfortunately, reservations were not possible over Easter, so we had to wait on site until a place became available. However, the staff was really very friendly and accommodating - other restaurants can learn a lesson from that! After about 45 minutes of waiting, we were shown to a table and ordered our food. The chef was very nice and personable, and the entire ambience of the restaurant is really great and well coordinated. However, I expected a little more from the food. When you hear the name Henssler, you immediately think of high standards. Therefore I have to say that I liked the burgers from Hans im Glück better. But tastes are different! All in all, the restaurant is a great shop and definitely worth a visit - especially if you have reserved in advance!

I was at a "class reunion" with some classmates in the restaurant, The service was good, the waitress was attentive, compliments for that.. The ambience of the restaurant... well... a barred shelf with devotional items from the namesake, a clear menu... franchise... The taste of the food didn't really impress me. Maybe I'm being too demanding, but I've eaten fried fish and fries of the same - and better - quality many times. The lemonade - passion fruit lemon - tasted good, only the rosemary sprig in it was strange. There was none of that on the menu and it didn't make the taste any better - quite the opposite.

Simply good, food delicious, service friendly. Unfortunately we had a small misunderstanding with the burger, but that didn't detract from the overall picture. We'd love to come again.
