Very nice location with unobtrusively friendly service. In a friendly atmosphere, you can enjoy delicious Indian food at affordable prices with a large selection of drinks. Nice quiet music in the background allows for relaxed conversation. It was a successful evening all around.
We absolutely loved the food at this authentic Sri Lankan restaurant in Stuttgart, offering a true taste of Sri Lankan cuisine.
We tried the Beef Kottu Roti and King Prawn Curry with a European spice level, and honestly, it was perfectly balanced. The spice level was just right, and we enjoyed it immensely. We also had the Chicken Samosa as an Appetizer, which was absolutely delicious.
The portion sizes were generous, and the ambiance was really pleasant. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!
"I went to this restaurant yesterday with my colleagues. The food was average compared to Indian standards. One disappointing aspect was the portion of rice — although we ordered three full main dishes, we were served a very small portion of rice for all of us. When we asked for more, they provided just one small extra serving and charged us for it separately. I found this quite unreasonable. Also, the prices for simple snacks like papadam were surprisingly high."
I had a wonderful dining experience at Restaurant Veda, an Indian-style restaurant that truly delivers on authenticity and flavor. I enjoyed the Chicken Tula Masala, served sizzling hot on a cast iron skillet—tender, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. It came with a side of fragrant basmati rice, beautifully presented in a traditional brass bowl. The rich yellow curry sauce was served separately, allowing me to customize each bite.
The appetizer was equally impressive—hot, fresh, and bursting with flavor. The garlic naan was served in a bread bowl, warm and pillowy, perfect for scooping up every bit of sauce. I sipped on a chilled mango lassi, which was fresh, creamy, and the perfect complement to the spices of the meal.
Before the main course, I was served a crispy, spicy cracker topped with sesame seeds—an unexpected but delightful touch. For dessert, I had a refreshing mango yogurt sprinkled with sweet raisins, followed by a strong cup of espresso to keep me alert for the drive home.
From start to finish, every detail was thoughtful, and every bite was delicious. I highly recommend Restaurant Veda to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable Indian dining experience.
The Maharaja Indian Restaurant is without a doubt a real gem of Indian cuisine in Düsseldorf. Of particular note is the Butter Chicken – tender, perfectly seasoned and with a sauce that is simply incomparable. It was by far the best butter chicken I have ever eaten.
The ambience in the restaurant is stylish and inviting - traditional accents combined with modern elegance create a pleasant and authentic atmosphere.
The service is just as convincing: the service was extremely attentive, friendly and always professional. You feel welcome and valued from the first moment.
Overall, an all-round successful experience - from the quality of the food to the ambience to the service. I can fully recommend the Maharaja and am already looking forward to my next visit!
Very good food. At first the portions looked quite small. In the end we almost didn't make it.
Great staff. Very helpful and always there when you needed her.
Very small restaurant. It is therefore advisable to reserve a table, especially on weekends.
We have rarely eaten as deliciously as we did here. The ambience is appropriate, the service is very friendly. The food came very quickly and was on point. The side salad was the best I've ever eaten. We were surprised by the fresh taste and spices. My pepper intolerance was also responded to directly and easily.
Aside from the tasteless ambience, this was the worst Indian food we've had in years. No trace of authentic Indian spice. You tend to think of ready-made sauces from the supermarket. Really not recommended if you're looking for Indian cuisine. Could it be that the chef has changed - or how can the many positive reviews be explained?
Best Indian food that I have had in the KMC area. I wish I could give whoever prepared my lunch a kiss on the forehead. Customer service was also great when I ordered on the phone, and when I picked up. Will be returning!
