I haven't been here in ages, but it was worth it again. Good and friendly service, delicious food, and a pleasant atmosphere.

If you're in Dresden, a visit to the Maharaja is practically a must. Upon entering, you'll immediately notice the cozy atmosphere and the aroma of Indian cuisine. This is followed by a warm welcome from the owner and the extravagant presentation of the menu. The menu is so extensive that it's often difficult to choose. Once ordered, the delicious dishes arrive piping hot without a long wait. I particularly like the different preparation of the dishes compared to other Indian restaurants. Here, the farewell is celebrated with Indian rum and a wholesome blend of spices. Thank you and goodbye.

Highly recommended. I haven't had such good Indian food in a long time. The spice combinations were simply amazing. They also ask you how spicy you want it. I chose slightly spicy, which was just right for me. To finish, I was treated to a small, homemade schnapps on the house. If I ever come back to Dresden, I'll definitely eat here again. Simply fantastic!

It tasted incredibly delicious – I honestly can't remember the last time I ate as well as I did here! I can especially recommend the eggplant pakoras (Bengan Pakora) with fresh salad – crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and wonderfully seasoned. The fried flatbread (Bhatura) was fluffy and went perfectly with the various dips. My absolute highlight was the Maharani Thali: a colorful selection of authentic Indian specialties, lovingly prepared and simply delicious. Of course, the traditional Indian chai was a must – wonderfully aromatic and spiced just right. To finish off, we had a homemade mango schnapps, which perfectly rounded off our lunch. An all-round successful visit that will leave you wanting more! For anyone who wants to enjoy first-class Indian cuisine in Dresden, this restaurant is an absolute must. Thank you for the great experience – I'll definitely be back!

For work-related reasons, I was in Dresden for three weeks without a kitchen and therefore “had” to test myself through the city's various restaurants. From a culinary point of view, this restaurant was definitely the best of all the ones I tried! Overall, I have rarely eaten such delicious Indian food and the selection of vegetarian dishes is huge. We shared the vegetarian platter and it's really great! Because I was so excited about the meal, I forgot to take a photo at the beginning, so here's just a picture in the middle.

The food tastes good. Not outstanding but good. Unfortunately, our first visit was probably the only one here. It took at least 15 minutes for our order to even be taken. After 45 minutes we got our drinks (small ginger ale and small Fanta). After a little more than an hour our food arrived. I can understand that it sometimes takes longer, but the main criticism is directed at the lack of communication from the staff. We were ignored for a long time or not informed that it might take longer because a large family was being served in the back room. After 45 minutes without any drinks or food, we wanted to leave and informed the waiter. Only then were we served again. It's a real shame but it spoiled the otherwise nice impression of the restaurant.

It's going ok. I had duck and it died for the second time while preparing it. Roughly and carelessly diced and “cooked” to make shoe soles. The sauce was supposed to be Indian spicy, but it was only slightly spicy and nothing else. Too bad. Missed the opportunity to settle down compared to the other Indian in the new town. It's not any better either. The pan bread tasted good, but was too greasy.

Beautiful Indian restaurant at Alaunpark in Dresden-Neustadt. I've eaten there several times and every time it's delicious. You can sit outside.

The friendliness of the staff is unfortunately not reflected in the dishes. The mixed grill is mainly a plate of thick sauce between which you can find five pieces of meat with a few pieces of spring onion. Moreover, the meat is not tender or tasty, as you are used to with a mixed grill in such establishment.

I have been going to this place regularly for the past 8 years. It never disappoints. I was there yesterday with 13 work colleagues and they were super impressed by the food and service. I have also hosted multiple work and leisure events at Maharadscha with around 15 people each time. In 2019, Maharadscha also catered a buffet for me at a different location for 40 people. It was a hit. The best part is that the foot suits all palates. They adjust the food according to your spice tolerance level. My favourites: Chai with honey, Tandoori chicken, Paneer Parantha and the complementary Mango schnaps! Enjoy!

Das Maharadscha ist mein Favorit. Es ist kein Gourmet Restaurant aber es ist zuverlässig gut und preiswert. Der Service ist entspannt und stets freundlich. Es sind bescheidene und authentische Leute. Das zählt am Ende doch mehr als eine exklusive teure Küche.

Egal ob vegetarisch oder Fleisch man wird nicht enttäuscht, authentische Küche, nette freundliche Bedienung.

Sehr lecker 😋 Die verschiedenen Brote passen gut zu jedem Gericht und werden im Tandoorofen gebacken (Bhatura ist frittiert). Auch optisch toll, das Auge isst ja bekanntlich mit 🤩.

Wir haben die vegetarische Platte für zwei gehabt. Zum ersten mussten wir eine gute Weile auf die Vorspeise warten und dann das gleiche mit der Hauptspeise. Der Salat siehe Foto ist kein Salat (war schon angefangen als das Foto entstand) sondern ein Gemüseteller. Wir haben uns dann nach guten 2 Std entschieden den Rest mit zu nehmen, weil es auch sehr laut war. Eingepackt wurde es zwar aber alles wurde lieblos in ein Becher gequetscht! Sehr unappetitlich sah das aus. Das Dessert haben wir dann gar nich erst bekommen und es wurde auch nicht gefragt. Wir haben die Reste ( so sah das Essen im Becher aus) auch stehen lassen. Passend bezahlt und weg.

Für mich das Erste Haus am Platze, wenn es um indisch Essen geht!

Wenn Inder hier essen gehen dann kann es nur gut sein. Wir waren vom Preis/Leistungsverhältnis begeistert. Lecker auch der Mangolassi. Ein Muss!!

Gestern wurde über Ubereats eine Bestellung abgegeben. Vier Gerichte wurden bestellt und es kamen nach über 70 Minuten Verspätung nur die Hälfte an. Hinzukommt, dass das Essen kalt war. Einmal und nie wieder.

Es dauert ewig bis man dran kommt und man muss zusätzlich noch total lange warten bis das essen dann da ist, ansonsten alles top

The perfect place to enjoy authentic Home-style Indian food. -Never thought even a Lassi could taste so good. -The inclusion of THAALI in the Menu was a welcome and allowed us to enjoy a variety of dishes at one serving. The use of spices was perfect, the dishes were great and maintained its taste and simplicity like home food. -The staff were humble. In all it was a real surprise-package!! Will definitely go there to eat whenever i visit Dresden.

Das älteste indische Restaurant in Dresden. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, das Essen sehr lecker und die Preise sehr fair. Dass hier wirklich noch frisch gekocht wird, merkt man daran, dass das gleiche Gericht jedes Mal etwas anders schmeckt. Unbedingt hingehen!

Ein nettes Indisches Restaurant mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Das Essen war auch sehr in Ordnung. Für meinen Geschmack war es drinnen, zumindest tagsüber, etwas zu dunkel. Abends ist dies sicher besser. Alles in allem kann man sich aber nicht beklagen!

The place itself has a nice atmosphere, decor feels authentic and the staff were friendly. On the other hand, the food was served after around 45 mins since ordered, and it did not taste great for its price. I tried the place around 1.5 year ago and was much better back then.

As an Indian myself, and having tried food at many different Indian restaurants in Dresden, I can confidently say that the food here is one of the best. Very flavourful! Definitely approved 💯
