Little India Restaurant in Dresden

Little India was recommended to us by friends, and it was absolutely worth it! Our reservation was changed quickly and easily, and even though we were 15 minutes early, we got a table right away. The welcome was warm, and the staff attentive and friendly. We were greeted with papadums and two delicious dips. The menu is varied and priced very fairly. We had butter chicken and chicken Madras with garlic naan. Both were incredibly delicious! One of the best Indian restaurants we've tried so far. Conclusion: Excellent service, great food, and very good value for money. A clear recommendation, and we'll definitely be back!

The Little India Restaurant is a warm welcoming place to eat authentic Indian food. The staff is very kind and they’re more than happy to accommodate special requests, which feels very personal. The dishes themselves are awesome! They do have a lot of flavors. They offer 3 different kinds of spicy levels and a hidden 4th one if you like ;) Each plate feels lovingly prepared rather than hurried. The great service uplift my whole rating. I'm planning to go here again.

We just wanted a bite to eat. But we had to order two portions. But we could only eat half. We took the rest home. The flavor was lacking. I had to add more salt, pepper, and search for something else to make it edible. Normally, Indian cuisine is a delight for me.

The Trip Advisor reviews are framed on the wall. That means what people think drives more people here. I admit that we chose this place exactly because of it. To preface, I've eaten a lot of Indian food all over the world, including in India. Little India wasn't hitting the mark. The curry was not exceptional, the papadums were oily, and overall we didn't get the buzz about the place. I would like to say it was decent but it left us wishing we had chosen another restaurant for our only meal in Dresden.

Really would like to call out the excellent service and quality of food at this place. The thali is great for lunch (Chana saag was great) and the folks are always checking to see if you need something and immediately ask for feedback if you leave something on the plate 😊. The most wholesome food we had in Dresden!

Despite the many good reviews on TripAdvisor, we were totally disappointed. I really didn't understand the hype. As soon as we sat down – a wobbly folding chair. Then the bread arrived – inedible. There were five of us, and no one liked it. I asked several times about the spice level – they said "spicy level 1." But all the dishes were extremely spicy. After the first bite, I was a dragon. If it's spicy, please be honest! For us adults, it was our first restaurant visit in Dresden – and it was such a disappointment. Bonus points only for the friendliness and the chicken soup. Don't fall for the great TripAdvisor reviews like we did.

everything was peak perfect!! the boss ensured that my grandma (who has a severe egg allergy) could eat an uncontaminated bread alongside her drink and she enjoyed it without symptoms, which is so rare for her. so kind and forthcoming! and the prices are very good for such delicious food. there's a lot of vegetarian and vegan options and the menu is completely halal! ❤️

I highly recommend this Indian restaurant in the heart of Neustadt, a young and "alternative" neighborhood in Dresden. The food is delicious, and the manager's courtesy is exquisite. I'd like to point out one very rare incident...when he saw the waiter's order, the manager approached us and explained that he thought we'd ordered too many dishes, which we probably wouldn't be able to finish. Taking his advice, we cut one dish, and indeed, at the end of the meal, we were thoroughly satisfied, avoiding wasting excess food and saving a considerable amount. Hats off to him for his honesty!

We ate here for the first time because of the many positive reviews. The food was truly excellent and highly recommended. Unfortunately, the service was a huge disappointment. Although we had specifically reserved for five people, we were only given a small folding chair at our table, which was so far away that it was almost at the next table. Instead of offering us a suitable table, the owner apologized several times to the next table – but not to us. When we laughed briefly while ordering, the owner obviously felt personally attacked and reacted inappropriately aggressively. Three times, he addressed the person who had laughed, saying, "What's so funny about it?" in a very rude tone. It's a shame, because the quality of the food would have made for an all-around enjoyable evening. However, due to this unprofessional behavior, we unfortunately cannot recommend the service. We will definitely not be coming back.

Indian lunch outdoors in Neustadt on a nice day! If you order one thali per person, you get an Indian meal. It comes with three curries, one naan, rice, lassi, dessert, and today's soup. If you go before 2pm for lunch, you get a 1 euro discount, so it's good value for money. It suits Koreans' tastes well, the staff is friendly, and the bathroom is free! By the way, they only have bottled beer.

I've been visiting this restaurant regularly with my girlfriend for years. The servers are always very friendly and accommodating, and the Indian cuisine is also excellent. We had been to Little India before, the service is great and fast. This time, we were a bit disappointed by the food, though. It might have just been the choice of dishes this time, but it even though it was good the sauces of the dishes were quite „clear“, didn’t have many spices and didn’t taste like they were prepared freshly in the moment. It‘s very nice though that you can choose the level of spice. Level 2 is great if you‘re used to spicy food!

A little restaurant, authentic without much kitsch like Saris, Buddhas, colours, Bollywood drama, in the bustling Neustadt Dresden. We arrived on a Saturday evening, without a reservation, but we were immediately attended and accommodated in 5 minutes. Very attentive and knowledgeable, and kind staff! Although it was busy we’ve got great service, a joke and many smiles in an international environment! The food is excellent, you can pick the level of spicyness, you want, a very generous menu, of typicals and lesser known dishes. The biryani in particular was as good as you can get, a firework for your taste buds!

I can especially recommend stopping by for lunch between 12-2 p.m. and ordering a thali, it will fill you up, it's delicious and you get lots of small bowls with small portions of different things. Cute, down-to-earth, rustic little restaurant. The owner came over and chatted with us and made jokes. The food is really tasty and filling, the drinks are also really recommended and something different. Your bodyguard 🥸 (as the owner liked to call me)

Food is good, you can choose the spiciness in 3 levels, level 2 is really hot, I only recommend level 3 for people who see hot as the basic spice. The owner talked to us a lot and showed a lot of humor. There is only a deduction for the size (very small), but that can also be a plus because it is quiet and personal. We were in this nice little restaurant with the family in the evening. Courteous and friendly staff and worth a visit if you e.g. B. is on a city trip to Dresden. The food was delicious, but the price-performance ratio still leaves a little to be desired, as the prices could have been a little lower, but all in all a really solid restaurant.

One of the Worst Dining Experiences – Arrogance Served Hotter than the Food If you’re looking for a pleasant evening out, avoid this place at all costs. What started as a simple dinner turned into an unnecessarily uncomfortable and insulting experience – all thanks to the owner’s appalling attitude. From the moment we arrived, the owner seemed more interested in showing off than providing hospitality. Without any provocation, he began speaking in Hindi and quickly switched to English with a mocking smirk, making an uncalled-for stereotype about South Indians not knowing Hindi. Not only was it offensive, but it also showed a shocking lack of cultural sensitivity, especially for someone in the hospitality industry. When we mentioned that one of the dishes was spicier than expected, instead of handling it professionally, he replied in the most condescending tone: “You ordered a level 2, can’t handle it?” The arrogance in his voice was palpable. To make things worse, he tried to snatch the dish away without even asking if we wanted to keep it or replace it. It’s ironic and honestly shameful that someone who is Indian himself seems to have no understanding of the basic hospitality values our culture is known for. There’s a huge difference between confidence and arrogance — and this man has clearly lost his way. Rude service, stereotypical remarks, and no regard for basic customer respect. There are plenty of restaurants that know how to treat guests with basic courtesy. Do yourself a favor and go to literally any of them instead.

Great place! We ordered a chicken thali - this is a tray with a plate of rice and several additions to it, to put it very simply. New flavor combinations, fresh quality food. The owner was super friendly and a story about food in India.

So, I can safely say that this is one of the best Indian restaurants in Dresden. The food was perfect, and the service was excellent. One of the waiters noticed us struggling with the German menu and came over to ask if we would like an English one—that was very thoughtful. At the end, we were offered shots of an Indian alcoholic drink on the house! We will definitely come back to try more dishes from the menu.

Spontaneously went to Little India on a Friday evening with a group of 7 people. The boss took care of us directly and organized a table and gave us advice on dishes. The food was very, very tasty and absolutely sufficient. We'll definitely be back!

The prices for both the food and drinks were unbeatable! The restaurant is very small, but very busy. You should definitely reserve in advance, otherwise you have no chance. When making the online reservation, you point out that if there are a large number of reservations, the length of stay will be limited to a maximum of 1.5 hours. There was a note on our table that showed us that the next guest would arrive two hours later. Personally, that doesn't bother me because I'm rarely in a restaurant for that long. But maybe it disrupts someone's restaurant experience. I will definitely come back!

We were exploring Neustadt and decided to try some Indian food. After reading reviews on Google and Reddit, we gave this place a shot, and it did not disappoint! We ordered Chicken Manchurian and Chicken Malvani. Chicken Manchurian was the best I’ve had in Germany so far, and the Chicken Malvani was unique and tasty. Both dishes came with rice, but we also ordered Naan, which was a great addition. The host was friendly, attentive and clearly passionate about the food. If you’re in Dresden and craving desi flavors, this place is definitely worth a visit!

The food was super spicy. I ordered chicken Biriyani. I normally eat spicy food. The spice level is supposed to be from level 1 to 3. I chose level 2, because the staff told us the level 3 would be very spicy. But even the level 2 was extremely spicy for me and my friends. It was unenjoyable. I hated it. The spice levels should be properly advertised. The level 1 should be spicy enough for those used to spices and level 0.5 should be spicy for those not so used to spicy foods. **if you’re hate yourself and is fed up of life, then the level 3 is for you! Update: I had upset stomach for 2 days afterwards. Felt like my stomach was numb.😄

Food came really quickly because we only had the table for an hour and was delicious. Some dishes can be made hotter and If you like spicy do not be afraid to go for hotter ( especially if you are used to British curry). If you are in Dresden try this place (with a reservation!)
