Fantastic indian restaurant that offers all the staples. They have large portions for the price and lots of vegetarian options as well. They maintain a very cleanly environment and were friendly to my roommate and I even though we came in near closing time. They also have a assortment of drinks, including nonalcoholic beers.

I can't agree with the previous reviewers. The food is okay, rather below average, and the portions (at least for takeout) are meager. A standard plate doesn't even fill up. For the price, it's almost a scam. I won't be back.

Beautiful restaurant with friendly service and outstanding cuisine. The portions are very large and so delicious that I couldn't stop eating even though I was already full. The Indian wine is also highly recommended.

Every time I order there, I get the Shai Paneer. It's simply divine! I've even introduced my sister to it. The food is always prepared very quickly.

Yes! Delicious food, "but" large portions. Leftovers are given away without any fuss. They kindly ask for the spiciness, and even Europeans can eat it. Friendly and attentive service. Very authentic food (thankfully, except for the spiciness).

I've been there many times and have never had a bad meal. The food is delicious, and the service is very friendly. For me, it's one of the best, if not the best, Indian restaurant in Düsseldorf. Highly recommended.

The Maharaja Indian Restaurant is without a doubt a real gem of Indian cuisine in Düsseldorf. Of particular note is the Butter Chicken – tender, perfectly seasoned and with a sauce that is simply incomparable. It was by far the best butter chicken I have ever eaten. The ambience in the restaurant is stylish and inviting - traditional accents combined with modern elegance create a pleasant and authentic atmosphere. The service is just as convincing: the service was extremely attentive, friendly and always professional. You feel welcome and valued from the first moment. Overall, an all-round successful experience - from the quality of the food to the ambience to the service. I can fully recommend the Maharaja and am already looking forward to my next visit!

very great, small Indian restaurant and not at all kitschy. The food was hardly spicy. We were there on Saturday, so be sure to reserve a table in advance, which is super easy to do on their homepage.

Five of us were there on a Wednesday evening. Extremely friendly staff. Delicious food, had braised lamb. There are still so many dishes on the menu that I really want to try. A tip for the evening: don't forget to make a reservation. The restaurant is very popular in the neighborhood.

Delivery driver too lazy to bring food to hotel room. Left it downstairs and said nothing.

Untrustworthy. Sells regular small portions as “To Good to Go”. This is an abuse of the platform.

After a short, friendly greeting, we were assigned our reserved table. The menu was handed to us and we could order the drinks. The menu is extensive and short German explanations of the dishes are helpful. We ordered a selection of starters and main course. Drinks were served and shortly afterwards the starter, nicely presented, very tasty! Shortly afterwards a warmed plate was brought out for the main course and the dishes were placed in bowls. The lightly seasoned rice is simply great! Unfortunately, you can't enjoy the subtle scent in the restaurant, as it naturally smells strongly of many other scents. Mild is quite spicy! Medium hot numbs the entire mouth, causes the lips to swell and the face to sweat. So definitely ask the service people for advice!!! The prices are ok so far, although in my opinion not everything is prepared with fresh ingredients. After a while we recovered from the sharpness.

The food is an absolute experience and a delight for the palate. It's simply a sensational taste explosion how you can conjure up a sauce from ginger and mint. The garlic bread is sensational. Chicken and lamb in cream sauce, simply a poem. It's definitely worth eating there

I ate here two days in a row, and the price-quality ratio is fine. I ordered the butter chicken and apple juice as a drink, for which I had to pay €20. The next day, I ordered the same thing again, and the same waiter told me the total was €19. I paid with a €20 bill, and he gave me 20 cents back. I only realized this after I left. Normally, I leave a tip, but not when they mess around with the amounts. So, make sure to double-check if they calculate everything correctly when dining here.

The Boss (wife) and I ordered the following: Me: Chicken Korma with 2x peshwari naan. The Boss: Ghinga Palak ( she did steal one of my Peshwari naan ) The dish came with a big bowl rice which was very tasty on its own. The food was very good. My chicken Korma was absolutely perfect!! I tasted all the ingredients next to the cocos! The Boss was blown away by the taste of her Ghinga Palak. She never had this dish before. Now she has a new favorite! After dinner I ordered a cappuccino with desert, home made mango icecream with a little warm thingy ( Gulab Jamin ) Both deserts were delicious! And my cappuccino was made with love. We are coming back soon!!! No doubt you'll enjoy eating in this nice restaurant.

Loved the taste. Very clean and nice restaurant, recommended for people looking for Indian Food. It’s not pure vegetarian but it is recommended for Vegetarian’s too as they have almost all required options. Another treat to me during my next visit. It also has drinks too to spice up your food.

This was our first time having it delivered, but I've also been to the restaurant before. It's simply kept, it's right on the main street, it's easily accessible. Parking lot is around the corner but it's often very full except late in the evening. The staff are very friendly and the food is good tasty the quantity is good the price is okay, thank you for doing this for us

After three visits in different groups, we remain enthusiastic about Maharaja's vegetarian food. The dishes all taste authentically Indian, but each one is individually seasoned and balanced. And of course super tasty and aromatic. It has never been full, which makes for a very relaxed atmosphere and gives the service time to exchange a few words.

As always, the food was great 👍🏼 Malai Kofta is highly recommended. Just like Cobra beer. The service was impressive, without writing anything down, everything was memorized without exception and assigned correctly at the table. We'd love to come back.

The Maharaja is one of our favorite restaurants. The dips for the starter aren't quite as good as other similar restaurants, but that makes up for the main course. It tastes very good. Service varies by person. The starter was taken away from us once during the meal because the main course was about to arrive. We also found it very unusual that the service person walked around with headphones in their ears. Another drawback is the parking situation. But if you value food above all else, you'll have a really good time here! Bon appetit!

Fantastic, authentic Indian food. We often go out for Indian food and know Indian cuisine quite well. This restaurant is outstanding. The taste of the dishes is soooo delicious. Everything is perfectly seasoned, the service is fast and all the employees are very nice. We always enjoy coming back and are willing to travel an hour to do so.

Hidden somewhat inconspicuously on Himmelgeister Straße and therefore not in the center of Düsseldorf, there is a real insider tip if you want to enjoy Indian food. Good service, pleasant prices, enough space and last but not least, excellent quality of the food. Tip: table reservations make sense.

Food and service are great. The atmosphere is very semi. A stone elephant on the table already looks “trying”. There is more.

On a rainy day. So the restaurant is pretty empty. The service was nice and friendly. For me it was the first time I ate Indian food. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the food. My friend told me that the tomato soup was so delicious and it was actually great. There are many vegan dishes and around 50% meat dishes. Of course, spiciness is something personal for every taste. I liked it. If I'm in Düsseldorf again, I'd love to eat here again.

A very good Indian in the Bilk district. The location invites you to linger and from my own experience I can recommend Chicken Maharaja and Chicken Tikka Masala. The lentil soup is also very good.

The food was delicious and the service was fantastic: fast, friendly, attentive and committed. Important to know: The food is always served mild, which is very untypical for Indian cuisine. If you do not want this, you must say so when ordering. This is also on the map, but is easily overlooked. The star deduction for service is because the reservation, made in writing via the homepage, didn't work out. Then I had to call. From then on everything worked really well. 13 people and three children. You have to do it first. 😁

Delivery is usually very quick, even on Sundays in the early evening it rarely took longer than 30 minutes. The food is extremely good, a taste explosion. No matter what I've eaten here so far, it's been delicious and well prepared. I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

Found uncooked pieces of chicken in the Korma, Polythene pieces with in cabbage salad in the chicken tandoori. However the staffs are quite OK with it, they don't even care about it when you tell them. Most dishes they say come with basmati rice However if you pack something the pack you 30grams of rice with it. Still figuring out why the hell they give this free rice with their main courses. Avoid going there. However Dall Makhani was somehow good with Naans

First of all: The food was really tasty. The service was nice, but not well organized. Therefore, inquiries are necessary. You could also simply write down what the guests order. The decor is very colorful, unfortunately the restaurant is somehow too small. On the toilet you would simply have to clean the sink fittings with a toothbrush and vinegar cleaner, then it would be clean, older limescale deposits.

We had a great time with delicious food at MAHARAJA! My Indian/german coworker recommend me this place as she’s been here before. And I can tell you, it was a hit!! We shared the Karahi Paneer and the Butter chicken. Both was so so good. Also had a sideorder of the Garlic Naan-yummy. Very friendly service as well, I definitely come back 👍🏻
