Had Indian food for the first time today. It was very tasty. The service was exemplary and super friendly.

Our favorite Indian restaurant in Bamberg! Large vegan (and of course non-vegan) selection, super tasty and always super friendly. Dogs are also very welcome.

Mega tasty, fresh and first-class service Everything is really right here. The menu is varied and there is also a daily recommendation. Whether vegetables, fish, meat or salad - there is something for everyone here. There were four of us and so we had several dishes to choose from 😉 Simply delicious!! Anyone who likes a varied meat option will love the grill plate (see photo). The fried fish was also amazing - everything was very tender and cooked to perfection. The culinary delight is rounded off by attentive and extremely friendly service. We are already looking forward to the next time 😉 It is advisable to make a reservation if you want to eat on site. Ordering and collection is also possible... All in all, highly recommended!!

We celebrated our birthday in a small group, the service was very nice, quick and courteous, and the food was really tasty. We had ordered takeaway twice before and it was very good each time. We'll definitely be back. We sat outside in the beer garden, had enough space, tables were far enough apart.

The food was ok, but it wasn't the typical Indian taste experience. No spiciness, no variety of spices, as we know from Indian food. Service was good and attentive.

We recently had dinner with the family at *Himalaya Indian Food* in Bamberg, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were warmly greeted by the very friendly staff. The service was consistently attentive and helpful, which made the visit particularly pleasant. What was particularly pleasing was that the food was served surprisingly quickly, which made us very happy as we were traveling with children. It is not a given that in a busy restaurant the food is served so quickly and at the same time with such high quality. We chose different meat dishes and each one was a complete delight. The curries tasted great and were perfectly seasoned, just as we had hoped. The portions were generous so everyone was full and satisfied. The price-performance ratio was also absolutely fine, especially considering the high quality of the food. It was noticeable that the ingredients were fresh and carefully selected. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and inviting, which contributed to a relaxed mood. Despite the speed with which the food was served, it was fresh and cooked to perfection. The children were also enthusiastic, which is of course particularly important when visiting a restaurant as a family. Overall, we were very happy with our visit to *Himalayan Indian Food*. The delicious food, the fast service and the friendly service convinced us, so we will definitely come back. We therefore give it four stars and can warmly recommend the restaurant.

This Indian restaurant in Bamberg is incredible. The butter chicken with butter naan is my favorite dish to have at any time. Try Samosas and mango lassi from their menu. The staff is courteous and helpful. The place is clean and well-maintained.

In my opinion the best Indian in Bamberg. We come often and enjoy it. The service is super nice, the food selection is large and there are many vegetarian and vegan options. The toilets are somewhat hidden in good German tradition, but the beer garden and the dining room are very nice and invite you to linger. Finally we no longer have to go to Erlangen for good Indian food. See you soon, dear Himalaya team :)

Small but very nice: The former Café Abseiten now serves wonderful Indian cuisine - a wonderful world of the finest flavors, beautifully prepared and served very carefully. The large proportion of vegan and vegetarian dishes is particularly noteworthy!

Friendly service and the food tastes very good! In addition, the seats both inside and in the beer garden are comfortable and clean. The All You Can Eat lunch menu included a choice of four dishes (two of which were vegetarian/vegan) and several starters. Everything tasted delicious.

Great restaurant with Indian specialties in Bamberg. Very tasty dishes, friendly service, fair prices. The upper area is rustic and middle-class furnished, the lower area is Indian-style. Recommended!

I am very happy that the Himalaya team has breathed new life and flavor into the old off-site premises! And I can say this, after all, I worked there for over 10 years. You feel welcome, it tastes excellent, the atmosphere is right and the old counter is still there. The next Bamberg visit will definitely be back in the old living room 😄

Absolutely top Indian cuisine. People still really cook here. No seasonings other than India Butter Chicken. If you want to really enjoy Indian cuisine, this is the place to be. We'll be back, no question😍👍

Again for lunch, 4 very tasty dishes, 1 vegan, 1 vegetarian, then butter chicken and curry chicken. All very tasty. Good service, excellent price-performance ratio. We'd love to come back. It's just a shame that it's much emptier than when it was away, so it's not quite as comfortable.

We were there for dinner on Sunday lunchtime. It was pretty empty, which made us happy. The waitress was super friendly and the food was very good. We can only recommend it!

Ich kenne das Lokal noch aus anderen Zeiten. Es hieß früher mal "Café Abseits" und hatte eine legendäre Bierkarte. Leider ist davon nicht mehr viel übrig. Ja das Essen dort schmeckt aber indische Restaurants gibt es doch mittlerweile überall. Ich (local) gehe nicht mehr hin. Das was das Abseits früher ausmachte ist vollkommen weg. Als Deutsche/r fühlt man da sich auch nicht mehr wirklich willkommen.

Einfach hervorragend. Gastgeber die der Bezeichnung mehr als gerecht werden. Überragendes Essen (kommen regelmäßig und probieren ALLES durch), leckeres Bier und jetzt auch noch eine neue gemütliche Eckbank im unteren Bereich. Das Mittagsbuffet ist auch nur zu empfehlen. Es gibt immer vier Gerichte darunter mind. eines vegan + veggie! SUPER!

Perfekte Bedienung, das Essen nicht so würzig.

Wir waren zu zweit beim Mittagsbuffet essen. Alle Gerichte waren sehr sehr lecker. Der Service war sehr freundlich und super zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Wir haben uns unglaublich wohl gefühlt. Und dazu so super faire, günstige Preise. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Tolles kleines Restaurant mit sehr einladend er Atmosphäre und Gestaltung. Eine Reservierung ist zu empfehlen! Der Gastraum hat 2 Ebenen die durch eine mittige und offene Treppe miteinander verbunden sind ( P.S.: Der Fußboden im unteren Bereich des Lokals ist vermutlich einzigartig in Bamberg!!!) Sehr sehr aufmerksamer und zuvorkommender Service durch die Eigentümerin. Fragen zu einzelnen Gerichten wurden mir ( bisher nicht vertraut mit der indischen Küche) sehr ausführlich, gut verständlich und geduldig beantwortet bzw erläutert. Insgesamt lief der komplette Service unaufdringlich, sehr ruhig und stimmig ab. Oft wurden wir gefragt ob wir noch Getränke möchten bzw ob mit den Speisen alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit ist! Und das waren sie absolut! Ich kenne die Geschmäcker der indischen Küche nicht und es war gewiss ungewohnt, wenn z.b in der Knoblauchsuppe eine Limettenscheibe drin ist ABER es war alles stimmig. Pikant aber nicht zu scharf, voller Aromen aber nicht überwürzt. Begeistert waren wir von dem selbstgemachtem Naan Brot mit hausgemachtem Käse und 3 Soßen zum Dippen ( Joghurt-Minze, Mango und iwas scharfes) welches wir extra zu den Hauptspeisen bestellt hatten. Das Brot war wirklich köstlich, allerdings sehr sättigend -> worauf wir allerdings auch hingewiesen wurden! Bei den Hauptspeisen hatten wir auch eine tolle Aromenvielfalt. Mein Chicken Tikken Masala mit Reis war sehr köstlich. Das Geflügel war super soft und saftig!!! Und der Reis war.... fantastisch! Für ein Dessert waren wir dann leider schon zu voll gefuttert :-) was wohl wirklich an den reichlichen Portionsgrößen liegt! Sehr zufrieden und jederzeit gerne wieder!!!

Ein selten gutes Restaurant: Hochwertiges und sehr leckeres Essen, extrem freundliches(!) und aufmerksames Personal (ganz unglaublich freundlich) und das zu absolut angemessenen Preisen. Eines meiner neuen Lieblingsrestaurants in Bamberg!

Absolut empfehlenswerte indische Küche! Durch die für meinen Geschmack bestens eingesetzten Gewürze war jeder Bissen ein kleines Erlebnis! Abgerundet wurde der Abend noch durch die sehr freundliche familiäre Atmosphäre. Man darf sich nicht vom äußeren Eindruck des Gebäudes täuschen lassen. Unbedingt reingehen! ;)

Wenn man das Gebäude sieht, denkt man oh Gott. Wir waren wegen der guten Bewertung dort hin gefahren. Es gibt einen Biergarten im Hof, der richtig klasse ist. Vorspeise war sehr lecker, Hauptgerichte super. Als Degistif gab es einem Mangolikör vom Haus. Unsere Bewertung: 1-

Jedes Gericht auf der Karte ist super lecker! Ich empfehle den Fisch in Tomaten Zwiebel Sauce und dazu Reis und Roti. Die Angestellten sind super nett und geben sich sehr viel Mühe, uns einen schönen Abend zu machen! Und indisches Essen verknüpft mit Biergartenambiente ist Klasse!

Sehr leckeres Essen, gerade für Vegetarier ist die indische Küche natürlich sehr interessant. Und hier muss man definitiv keine Abstriche machen, der Käse oder zb die Okraschoten sind sehr gut zubereitet und geschmackvoll. Der Biergarten ist gemütlich und gibt dem Essen einen bamberger Flair. Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit.
