Very good Indian! Moti Mahal has been our "favorite Indian" for many years, both in terms of taste and the visual presentation of the food! The portions are large, so one main course is enough for a normal appetite. If you add an appetizer (e.g., the mixed tandoori appetizer plate for two people – a delicacy), you'll be absolutely full 😉. The lunch menu is also great, and in no way inferior to the "regular" evening meals. The service is extremely customer-oriented and prompt. When ordering spicier dishes, they usually ask again if they really want it that spicy (which is certainly appropriate given Indian spiciness). Please make a reservation in the evenings and on weekends! Conclusion: Top-notch both food quality and service

Now we've tried it again AND were very pleasantly surprised... very good food, new menu (GREAT) and, as always, excellent service. This is our second time here, the last time about nine months ago... we feel the quality has dropped a bit... but that could have been due to the day or us. BUT the food was still good... we "only" found it VERY good the first time. We'll definitely come back to test our own... We had two different tandoori dishes, and the couple who accompanied us had butter chicken (supposedly very tasty).

Inconspicuous from the outside, but a very pleasant atmosphere inside, warm and child-loving staff, wonderful food (to eat), great service and really large portions, so that even those who eat a lot of food are full every time. The lunch menu is generally okay, but unfortunately the evening menu offers exactly the same offering at a higher price. One downside is that it can sometimes take a little longer at lunchtime, so it may not be the best choice for people on a short break. If you are short on time, you should consider other alternatives, depending on how long the break lasts. Unfortunately, the staff is rude and seems rather tactless and cold. They often seem to be grinning among themselves or smoking outside the store while making "important" phone calls. This atmosphere doesn't exactly contribute to a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. There were also times when a female employee was obviously belittled by her male colleagues, which I found to be seriously unprofessional. There are no caste systems or anything like that here. As far as the food is concerned, there are fluctuations in taste - sometimes it's too salty or too sweet, but there's no real consistency in quality, otherwise nothing exciting, not even average. I can't quite explain why the restaurant receives good reviews overall - most of the 5 star reviews were slapped without saying a word. Other Indian restaurants I tried definitely had more to offer in terms of taste. The portion sizes were fair overall, but price-wise it's not exactly a bargain, even if it's not overly expensive. It's a shame, I would have liked the "Jambo" to come back with the "Natt". The interior design is unfortunately not very attractive and rather tasteless, but at least it is spacious.

Unfortunately, this restaurant failed to impress me. The staff comes across as unprofessional—rather than attending to customers, they prefer joking around with each other or standing outside smoking while pretending to be busy on the phone. One particularly negative observation was that a former waitress was treated poorly by her male superiors. The food is reasonably priced but disappointing in taste. The quality is inconsistent—sometimes too sweet, sometimes too salty—and lacks balance. Additionally, the same discount card (Nooncard) is offered in the evening but with an extra charge, which feels unfair to customers. The interior is another letdown. Having known three previous restaurants at this location, I can say that the current design is a significant downgrade compared to its predecessors. Overall, this restaurant lacks professionalism, consistency, and a compelling concept. I cannot recommend it.

At first everything was great, we really enjoyed the food and it was very tasty. But then we had to wait almost 30 minutes for dessert, even though it wasn't freshly prepared, so I don't understand why the wait was so long. but unfortunately that wasn't the only problem. Our ordered menu included two free schnapps. But the bartender said we had to pay for them separately and they were included separately in the bill. Even though it said on the menu that it was included in the order and we didn't have to pay extra for it. Even to order schnapps, you had to get up, take the menu and look there. I don't understand why in all other places the waiters don't usually ask people to get up and go to the bar to look at the menu. But of course the worst thing is that we were simply cheated with liquor. It's not a lot of money, but it's just annoying. The food was definitely very tasty.

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal beim Inder Moti Mahal in Martinsried – inspiriert durch unser „Schlemmerblock-Gutscheinheftchen“, mit dem wir durch „2 für 1“ das günstigere Hauptgericht gratis bekommen haben. Ein Glück, dass wir dadurch überhaupt auf dieses indische Restaurant aufmerksam wurden! Es hat uns regelrecht begeistert: Parkplätze gibts direkt vor dem Lokal an der Straße. Innen waren um 19.30 Uhr schon viele Tische besetzt, was auf ein gutes Lokal schließen ließ. Es waren auch alle Altersstufen bei den Kunden vertreten. Sehr ansprechendes Interieur, alles sauber und geschmackvoll, im indischen Stil, aber nicht kitschig, leise Musik. Das Personal außerordentlich freundlich und aufmerksam, alle sprechen sehr gutes Deutsch. Die Tische sehr schön eingedeckt mit weißen Stoffservietten, Kerze, hübschem Kunstblumengesteck im Glas, abwaschbarer Folie über der Stofftischdecke (das macht total Sinn, weil man sich aus den Schüsseln auf dem Warmhaltestövchen selbst bedient und da kleckert man schon mal etwas). Die Speisekarte sehr umfangreich: Viele verschiedene Vorspeisen, Hauptspeisen mit Huhn, Lamm, Ente, Fisch, Garnelen, große vegetarische Karte, wirklich für jeden etwas dabei, die Preise absolut akzeptabel. Zuerst gab es gratis einen leckeren „Gruß aus der Küche“, bestehend aus dünnen Fladen mit 4 verschiedenen Dips, die Hauptgerichte (wir hatten gebratene Ente und Mango-Chicken) werden alle mit leckerem Basmatireis serviert und schmeckten hervorragend. Das dazu bestellte Naan-Brot war lecker, aber mir etwas zu ölig, ich mag das eher trocken, ist natürlich Geschmackssache. Die Menge der Speisen war absolut ausreichend, wir waren nachher wirklich gut gesättigt. Wir hatten als Getränk Bier bestellt, es gibt das leckere Herrnbräu aus Ingolstadt. Sowohl das „Helle“ als auch das „alkoholfreie Weißbier“ waren sehr lecker. Am Nebentisch saßen 3 Personen, von denen offenbar einer Geburtstag hatte: Denn plötzlich ertönte aus den Lautsprechern Glockenklänge, danach „Happy birthday“ und dann wurde ein funkensprühendesTischfeuerwerk an den Nebentisch gebracht und die Kellner begannen zu klatschen, woraufhin alle Gäste im Lokal mit einstimmten! Das „Geburtstagskind“ war ganz gerührt. Eine super nette Geste des Lokals, die wir so bisher noch nirgendwo erlebt haben. Nach dem Essen wird noch ein kostenloser Schnaps angeboten. Und zur Verabschiedung der Gäste kommt ein Kellner „herbeigesprungen“ und präsentiert eine Schale mit kleinen Sarotti-Schokoladetäfelchen, von denen sich jeder Gast noch eines mit auf den Heimweg nehmen darf. Was für ein Kundenservice! Großes Lob, ganz hervorragender Service, wir kommen garantiert wieder!

New favorite Indian Yesterday we went to the Inder Moti Mahal in Martinsried for the first time - inspired by our “Schlemmerblock voucher booklet”, with which we got the cheaper main course for free with “2 for 1”. It's lucky that we even became aware of this Indian restaurant! We were really impressed: There is parking on the street directly in front of the restaurant. Many tables inside were already occupied at 7:30 p.m., which suggested a good restaurant. All age groups were also represented among the customers. Very attractive interior, everything clean and tasteful, Indian style but not kitschy, quiet music. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, everyone speaks very good German. The tables are beautifully set with white fabric napkins, a candle, a pretty artificial flower arrangement in a glass, washable foil over the fabric tablecloth (that makes perfect sense because you help yourself from the bowls on the warming warmer and you'll end up making a mess). The menu is very extensive: many different starters, main courses with chicken, lamb, duck, fish, shrimp, large vegetarian menu, really something for everyone, the prices are absolutely acceptable. First there was a free, delicious “greeting from the kitchen”, consisting of thin flatbreads with 4 different dips. The main courses (we had roast duck and mango chicken) were all served with delicious basmati rice and tasted excellent. The naan bread I ordered with it was delicious, but a bit too oily for me, I like it rather dry, of course it's a matter of taste. The amount of food was absolutely sufficient, we were really full afterwards. We ordered beer as a drink, the delicious Herrnbräu from Ingolstadt. Both the “light” and the “non-alcoholic wheat beer” were very tasty. There were 3 people sitting at the next table, one of whom apparently had a birthday: suddenly bells rang out from the loudspeakers, followed by “Happy birthday” and then sparkling table fireworks were brought to the next table and the waiters started clapping, whereupon all the guests in the restaurant joined in! The “birthday child” was very touched. A super nice gesture from the restaurant that we haven't experienced anywhere else before. A free schnapps is offered after the meal. And to say goodbye to the guests, a waiter “jumps over” and presents a bowl with small Sarotti chocolate bars, one of which each guest can take with them on the way home. What customer service! High praise, excellent service, we will definitely be back!

Very nice visit with very good and friendly service, and delicious, well-seasoned food that is quite typical of the country. Great naan bread and good lassis. A little gift for the children for dessert. The only thing that struck me as not being ideal were the plastic table covers. Although they are practical, they detract from the ambience a little. Overall everything was great, I'd love to come back!

Worst SERVICE ever, the waiter asked us if you want any drinks, we said no, then he points to our water bottle and said “this is not allowed ok”. Like really dude, this is a tourist place, people have water bottle they carry. Worst paneer butter masala and aalo Gobi, tasted the same and had too much salt. There was like only 2 pieces of paneer and same with aalo gobi.

Moti Mahal is a great restaurant. We really enjoy going there to eat. The staff are very friendly. The food is super delicious. I can recommend chicken pakora as a starter.

When you come out of the laboratory late at night, Rewe is just closing and your hunger makes stray cats and children look like passable meals, you are happy to pass a restaurant on the way home that serves high-quality, sumptuous and morally harmless dishes until 11 at night. Chapati bread was included, with four different dips (one of which is suitable for dares or mean tricks) and the chicken korma was enough for two days. Very satisfied.

We often order something to pick up here and are always very satisfied with the food. It tastes very tasty and is definitely our favorite Indian dish.

When we were finally seated, the attitude of our server was downright appalling. They approached our table with an expression that screamed “I don’t want to be here,” and their demeanor matched. They were rude, condescending, and completely uninterested in doing their job. When we had the nerve to ask a simple question about the menu, we were met with a sigh and an eye roll, as if we were wasting their precious time. The owner was drunk and the smell from the owner was clearly coming when he was near our table . As well other staff the bartender and the waiter didn’t even gave any kind of service even they don’t deserve one star . Me with my other 4 friends was there for dinner to celebrate one of the friends birthday but it was the worst birthday ever didn’t expect that kind of response. We came specially from Berlin but as of our expectations it was totally opposite. Sorry to say never ever again we’ll be here and I don’t recommend this place at all. Many other places to enjoy your food and precious time with loved ones.

I was completely thrilled. The location is great, you can park on the street without any problems, be it right in front or somewhere nearby. The staff are very nice and friendly, everyone. The food was excellent, good portion, reasonable price. Afterwards schnapps and chocolate, what more could you want? :) In addition, the restaurant is beautiful, beautifully decorated.

We came back 3 times! I went with family, and we loved it. The dishes were exquisite, with or without meat. The sauces were divine and incredibly well spiced. Ich muß hier noch mal nachlegen: Neben den flüssigen Köstlichkeiten von Herrnbräu (das Dunke "Jubiläumssud" ist einzigartig, das Weißbier kennt man eh) ist der Anlaß, hierher zu kommen, der überragende Service. Vom beim Inder gewohnten, hier aber überdurchschnittlichen Gruß aus der Küche über Gedeck-Verhalten, heißen Tellern, Freundlichkeit, schnelles, aber unbedrängendes Nachfragen, ggf. Reisnachschub bis zu allen (Karten-) Zahlungsmöglichkeiten und außergewöhnlichen Digestifs dazu, und am Ende noch ein Zuckerl beim Rausgehen. Vor allem aber nur aufmerksame, freundliche Inder! (Die Gerichte schmeckten angesichts leerer Teller allen umsitzenden Gästen.)

Not good balance of salt and the food was spicy. Non-authentic Indian food and portions were smaller. Salad was not prepared or washed well. Tikka and paneer dishes were okay used almost same taste. Staff was rude.

We treated our birthday child to this restaurant as an evening surprise... great recommendation... very attentive staff... the variety of food 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼... each of the guests found something and was thrilled... . Although it wasn't previously known that we had a birthday child, there was a sparkler for each guest (including a drink) and mousse with fireworks for the birthday child... spontaneously... for that ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Excellent ! We became aware of this restaurant through the voucher book. I have to say, the trip to Planegg/Martinsried was worth it. Chikken Tikka was a dream. The meat was extremely tender, the sauce was well seasoned and not too spicy. Well brilliant. Our other meals were also consistently very good. The service was very attentive. Absolutely ok in terms of price. Schnapps of your choice were also on the house. Only the plastic pad on the tablecloth...was slightly annoying. We'd love to come back.

we went there last week it was good food and good service. The staff is also friendly. The good part is they were taking card and not making any lame excuse that the card machine isn’t working and need payment immediately cash unlike other indian restaurants. Opposite the restaurant there is a fußball tisch, do play a game there.

I regularly go to Moti Mahal during the week - a work-related lunch, so to speak. I always enjoy going there: fast, friendly, uncomplicated and delicious. Also very affordable. What more do you want? However: If you go “first” at 12:30, then it can get really crowded. Today I just wanted to point out the “food to order and pick up” option, which also works very well. As usual, the food is delicious, varied and versatile, whether it's naan bread, butter chicken, chans masala, dahi ghosht (lamb) or chicken corma. Various sauces combined with tender types of meat, but also delicious vegetarian versions. I appreciate that it's not a one-size-fits-all sauce that ends up in every meal. You know it from many other restaurants of this type. If you order by phone, it's usually pretty quick and the food is usually ready to be picked up when you arrive at the restaurant. If it's not ready to go yet, you'll be asked to sit at a table and given a delicious mango lassi to tide you over. When you leave the house promptly, you are escorted to the door and given a piece of chocolate as a small gesture. It's not all incredibly pompous or sophisticated, but it's simply friendly, uncomplicated and delicious! And very affordable... Great for a lazy Sunday evening at home. That's why I always like this variant!
