More details:
We visited "Wüstenblume" on a Saturday evening with a reservation for four people. After a minimal wait, we were shown to our small table.
The welcome was incredibly friendly, and I personally love being addressed informally; it immediately makes you feel welcome. Our waiters were fantastic! They were attentive and friendly and gave great recommendations. The service truly made our dining experience special. (Eating with your hands is really fun!)
For starters, we had a selection of East African specialties including sambusas, lambi spring rolls, and bajio.
Unfortunately, the accompanying sauces were too spicy for me. I would have liked a third, milder sauce for people like me who can't handle spice. My daughter thought both dips were delicious.
My main course was Sabaayad, a Somali flatbread that was golden brown and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It came with Suqaar (tender, boiled beef) and a side salad. I can highly recommend it!!
Unfortunately, I was quite full from the appetizers, but they packed my leftovers in a box. What's really great is that the Sabaayad tastes amazing even the next day (cold).
One or two fewer tables might make the space feel a bit more open, and a second restroom with a urinal would be fantastic. But maybe I'm just not ready for unisex restrooms yet.
The "Desert Flower" (a trendy bar) could easily be in Berlin, Hamburg, or Munich with its ambiance. A real culinary gem for Fulda!!
I'll definitely be back.
One of the best restaurants in Berlin. A super friendly team and very, very good food. Whether it's scampi (great) or steak, everything is delicious, and the homemade lemonade is amazing.
We had a wonderful long evening at the restaurant. The ambiance is very pleasant, the food delicious, and the service excellent. We would love to come back ❤️
Super delicious sushi, freshly prepared and beautifully served. The ambiance is a bit spartan; you sit on garden chairs, and the menus have seen better days. But the food tops everything and even makes up for the ambiance. Everything was freshly made, and you could taste it. The portions were generous and really good value for money.
We'd love to come back!
The ice cream tastes good, the prices are okay, but the scoops are just too small, and eating ice cream is no fun.
Two cappuccinos for seven euros with an espresso and just foam, and four scoops of ice cream for eight euros, is just too much. I can understand the problems of inflation, but if prices are raised like that, then I want a decent ice cream for that, not just four scoops.
Highly recommended! The best falafel wrap I've ever eaten. The spices are perfectly balanced, the ingredients prepared with passion, and the bread and falafel are fresh and homemade. On top of that, the team is incredibly friendly and wonderful hosts! Thank you for the delicious tea!
Another wonderful evening with Robert and his team. Delicious food with perfectly paired wines. Thank you for a lovely evening! We're already looking forward to our next visit.
This place is special. The burger was juicy. The ingredients are perfect. The owners take the time to provide detailed information about the ingredients without being annoying. The staff has soul. The food is soul food. I'll be back, but with family and friends.
Lezzzz go!
