A truly fantastic restaurant! The food at Wüstenblume is incredibly delicious, fresh, and bursting with flavor. You can tell that it's cooked with love and that a lot of care is put into the preparation and presentation. The service is incredibly friendly and relaxed, and they cater to every need. The ambiance is perfect, too. One of my favorite restaurants in Fulda!!

It was truly a special experience. Right at the beginning, we realized we'd accidentally booked for only 4 instead of 5, but we were immediately helped. We were a little unsure at first because we couldn't really picture most of the dishes, but we received very friendly advice. When there was a small mix-up with the food, they reacted immediately and even brought us something extra. We were a little worried about the 90-minute time slot, as we didn't want to rush, but it worked out perfectly. I don't know how they would handle dessert and appetizers. We were also a bit concerned about how eating rice with our hands would work, but it was a really unique experience, and once you give it a try, you realize it works wonderfully and isn't at all unpleasant or unhygienic. Especially since there's a very clean handwashing station and everything is so clean and pleasant. So, let's talk about the food: we wanted to try it out, but beforehand we thought, "Oh, we're often a bit sensitive to unfamiliar cuisine, we might not like one or two spices, etc." Not at all!! Everything was so delicious and fresh, and truly something special. We each ordered something different and then tried a bit of everything. I would recommend it to everyone. My favorite was probably the rice with baijo, the lentil balls. So for us, it was a real experience and not just a restaurant visit! And since you gave my little brother the lovely glass coaster at the end, we now have a wonderful souvenir of the evening. Thank you for everything, we will definitely be back :)

After a minimal wait, we were shown to our small table. The welcome was incredibly friendly, and I personally love being addressed informally; it immediately makes you feel welcome. Our waiters were fantastic! They were attentive and friendly and gave great recommendations. The service truly made our dining experience special. (Eating with your hands is really fun!) For starters, we had a selection of East African specialties including sambusas, lambi spring rolls, and bajio. Unfortunately, the accompanying sauces were too spicy for me. I would have liked a third, milder sauce for people like me who can't handle spice. My daughter thought both dips were delicious. My main course was Sabaayad, a Somali flatbread that was golden brown and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It came with Suqaar (tender, boiled beef) and a side salad. I can highly recommend it!! Unfortunately, I was quite full from the appetizers, but they packed my leftovers in a box for me. What's really great is that the Sabaayad tastes amazing even the next day (cold). One or two fewer tables might make the space feel a bit more open, and a second restroom with a urinal would be fantastic. But maybe I'm just not ready for unisex restrooms yet. The "Desert Flower" (a trendy bar) could easily be in Berlin, Hamburg, or Munich with its ambiance. A real culinary gem for Fulda!! I'll definitely be back.

The ambiance is very nice, the food is very good, but not exceptionally good, and while the service is very friendly, it did become less frequent and attentive over the course of the visit (as is unfortunately the case in many other restaurants). I find it noteworthy that no alcoholic beverages are offered; this is a plus for me. Card payments are not accepted. Overall, I would recommend it, but it's not an exceptional experience.

I think this restaurant is so good! The injera with the vegan lentil sauce was really good, and if I could, I'd eat two kilos of those fried dough balls. Not only was the food top-notch and something different, but the ambiance was fantastic with beautiful decor. And the service was super friendly, attentive, and truly lovely. Today was our second time there. Apparently, we had made a reservation at the wrong restaurant (Pars), 😂😂😂 which caused some confusion. Despite the incorrect reservation, they did everything they could to get us a table for three. Our waitress took this with great humor, despite the circumstances, and we had a very pleasant evening. The food was amazing again, just like last time. Many thanks to the team.

Today there was a lot of confusion because the table was accidentally reserved at the Persian restaurant instead of here, but the staff took it with good humor and squeezed us in with a lot of effort. We girls go to Fulda once a year and discovered the "Desert Flower" by chance last year. The authentic food is "incredibly delicious." You can eat with your hands, but cutlery is also provided upon request. You definitely have to try the "Desert Flower" drink! In Bavaria, we say "saulecker" 🥰

It was fantastic. The interior was super atmospheric, stunning, and fitting. The food and cocktails were truly delicious. The value for money was absolutely justified and not excessive. The entire team was accommodating, friendly, open, and well-organized. We also received a brief introduction to the concept (including the idea of ​​tasting food with your hands) and good recommendations to help us choose. We then read on the menu that they don't serve alcohol to create a family-friendly and safe environment, which we really liked—nothing was missing. Everything was super appreciative, and it was a fantastic evening. We felt like good friends from the very first minute. It's even worth traveling from Kassel or Erfurt—I'm so thrilled and glad we found you on our short trip to Fulda. Wow! We stopped here while passing through without knowing much about the restaurant and managed to snag a table on a Sunday evening. We were truly blown away by what they offer. The food is absolutely delicious! With a starter plate and a main course with a variety of options (both intended for two people), we were able to sample a wide variety of dishes for just two people. Yes, you eat with your hands (which is why a thin slice of bread is served with it) – but cutlery is also available if you prefer. Above all, you can experience how the restaurant team wholeheartedly serves their guests! If we didn't live 250km away, we would definitely come here more often. Thank you!

This place was by far one the best experiences I've ever had and using my hands to eat at a restaurant was definitely a first for me. The atmosphere and decor was just gorgeous and the waitress we had was so friendly and welcoming. Now lets talk about the food! I honestly had no idea what to expect because I had never had authentic African food before but the flavours were beyond amazing and the different stews we got on our plate had different spices, heat levels and texture the meats in some of them were tender and the flatbreads were so good! Definitely recommend if you want a unique experience.

The dining room may be quite small and somewhat dark, but it's cozy. The food was excellent: tender chicken with fufu, Somali rice, and a deliciously aromatic peanut sauce. A highlight was the spectacular dry ice presentation for the main course. Those who like can eat with their hands in the traditional way – cutlery is available upon request. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and we felt completely at home. We particularly recommend the Luqiman (sweet dough balls with Nutella and coconut) and the Desert Flower cocktail. Be sure to make a reservation in advance!
