Metaxa Griechisches Restaurant in Dresden

We went to this restaurant today and I loved it. The food tastes incredibly good and I can highly recommend the baked steak. The employees were extremely nice. The toilets are quite small, but enough to do your business. There is a wide selection of food and drinks. I would give 100/5 stars. Very great enjoyment. There is also a children's menu with delicious dishes such as schnitzel, pasta and fries. The non-alcoholic cocktails are AMAZING and also taste incredibly delicious. You should definitely have eaten here before. You can also take leftover food with you.

Food was really great. The staff was always friendly and always tried to offer the best service despite the full restaurant. What bothered us a bit was that on Valentine's Day you were asked to pay after a certain time because the next guests were already waiting for the table in the entrance. But nonetheless, we would eat there again.

Apart from the fact that the food was delicious, there was a nice and cozy atmosphere. We were served very friendly and the restaurant was beautifully decorated for Valentine's Day!

Despite Sunday and many reservations, we got a table, the atmosphere was very nice, inviting and clean, the staff was very warm and friendly, the food was excellent, price-performance = top 👍🏻 Greek hospitality as we know and love it 🫶🏼, thank you very much for the great lunch 🥗🍲🍹 If we are in the area again, we will definitely eat here again 🤩

It's great that there is a Greek restaurant on Hamburger Straße again. Everything went smoothly in terms of service, even during busy times. The ambience inside is tastefully decorated.

Es war einfach ein schöner Abend, unser Essen war qualitativ auf einem hohen Niveau, alles Frisch , das Fleisch und die Zutaten hochwertig, ich bin einfach sprachlos über den Service und die Qualität. Ich bin sehr kritisch was Ambiente und Service sowie das Angebot der Speisen entspricht aber das ist wirklich der Hammer. 5 Sterne der Crew und dem Chef der sich im Nachhinein zu erkennen gegeben hat. I have to honestly admit that I have driven past this restaurant 1000 times without noticing it. A really nice Greek restaurant, with a large selection and very tasty food. I will definitely come back here. The staff is so incredibly friendly and accommodating. The prices are reasonable.

We were here spontaneously during Advent without making a reservation in advance. We still got a table with the information that the table would only be available for 1.5 hours. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was great, all the employees were very friendly and accommodating. The food came quickly and was very, very tasty 😋 We can only recommend the Metaxa.

The food was good. The service was good. But it was very loud and crowded. Very well attended. Not much is possible without a reservation.

I was in Dresden on business. The restaurant is right next to the hotel. Service friendly, food very tasty. Oh yes, I was here at the beginning of December. It's easy to imagine that in summer you might have to wait a little longer, but that's acceptable given the delicious food. Thank you, I will definitely come back on my next stay

Great service and very tasty food

We were in this restaurant on a Saturday evening. It was completely full and the waiting times were a little longer. Nevertheless, it took 45 minutes until we could order food. That's a bit too long. Food was perfect except for the children's meal. The pasta tasted more like it came from a can. All in all, it's a very nice restaurant if you don't have to go to the toilet. The men's toilet was about 2 square meters, very, very narrow, unkempt and the paper for drying hands was empty. It really had something of a “motorway toilet” about it. Absolutely not possible, compared to the rest of the restaurant.

Still brand new, this “Greek” is located near the Flugelweg Bridge in Dresden. Of course, as fans of Greek cuisine, we wanted to try the restaurant. The “presentation” from outside alone is an eye-catcher. This first impression is clearly confirmed from the inside. The owner attaches great importance to a stylish and modern ambience. The service (3) was extremely friendly and never seemed stressed despite the well-filled restaurants. He even takes the time to have a conversation or two with the guests :). The food was very tasty with one very small exception, but the criticism was gratefully received. Conclusion: Fine ambience, great service, very good value for money and good food. The food was lukewarm. Tomato rice not seasoned. Maybe next time it will be better. Waiters are all very nice.

Went to Metaxa for the second time today and were once again pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was very full (luckily we had a reservation), which says a lot. Very modern interior yet cozy and authentic. Pleasant music, there's a bit of a holiday feeling...Very friendly staff, really warm and attentive! The taste of the food is impeccable, the portions are very generous and therefore the price/performance ratio is absolutely fine. We were very satisfied, recommend the restaurant and will definitely come back!

We were there just before lunch break. Nevertheless, we were not turned away and were able to have lunch in peace. The service was quick, friendly and accommodating. If I lived here, I would come back again and again.

Wir waren zu zweit zum Abendessen vor längerer Zeit vor Ort und konnten bei schönen Wetter einen Platz auf der Terrasse einnehmen. Service war sehr aufmerksam und auch die Speisen haben unseren Geschmack getroffen sodass wir in die positiven Rezessionen nur bestätigen können. Die Teller waren sehr gut gefüllt und ein Besuch können wir sehr empfehlen.

The two of us were there for dinner a long time ago and were able to take a seat on the terrace when the weather was nice. We spontaneously went to this Greek restaurant on Saturday evening because our hotel was next door. The restaurant, which is rather inconspicuous from the street, is very attractively designed inside and remarkably clean. After a short wait we even got a table, even though the restaurant was completely booked. The service was very helpful and friendly. It took a little longer for the food to be served, but the place was full. The food was very tasty. I particularly enjoyed the liver. The price was more than reasonable for the large portions. We had a lovely evening there, which was not only due to the very good food, but also to the very professional and friendly service staff. It's nice when a restaurant is run like that. Unfortunately, it's becoming increasingly rare.

Despite the fact that we didn't have a reservation and it was really full, we got a table quickly and the service was really great. The food was amazing and the ambience was absolutely beautiful.

Can simply be recommended. The food is always a pleasure. Everyone on the team is courteous and friendly. The last time I made a reservation, I missed the time by half an hour and didn't reach anyone. I was all the more pleased when I was called back 10 minutes before opening and my reservation was confirmed.

The restaurant was super modern and stylishly decorated. The waitresses were very friendly. The food was incredibly tasty, especially the homemade tiramisu. Price-performance was really top. It's difficult to get a table without a reservation in advance - that speaks for itself.

We decided at short notice to go to a Greek restaurant. In the past, always in the myth of price-performance is no longer consistent for us. We received a very friendly welcome here at Metaxa, even without pre-ordering. The food was very fresh and super tasty!!!! Full 5 stars!!!

The meat and fish were well fried and tasted delicious. Points deducted because of pickled, not fresh carrots in the salad. The waiter made us wait while we collected the money. And there is only one toilet for women besides the men's. That's where you stand in line. Still, everyone was very friendly.

Without a reservation, you hardly have a chance of getting a free table in the evening. That speaks for the restaurant. Food was super tasty. One point is deducted for the relatively long waiting time until we could place an order and the toilets can definitely be expanded... only two of them, only accessible via stairs and very narrow.

Top, busy and very successful Greek restaurant. Despite the reservation, we had to wait a while, but the personal contact with the owner made up for a lot. And then the food, delicious! Tasty and large portions for a fair price. If I'm in Dresden again I will definitely have a bite there again.

Food is delicious and plentiful. The restaurant is clean and stylishly decorated. They can't do anything about the view of the B6, the train tracks and a construction site, but that's the only negative thing. You should make a reservation as it can get full even during the week.

The atmosphere on the large terrace is great. The waitresses were very friendly. When the appetizers came, we were thrilled. From that point on, everything took far too long, even if the restaurant was full. The main courses were very promising in terms of quantity, but all the meat was TOTALLY fried and therefore tougher than the soles of shoes. That's just a shame! In total we were there for 3 hours.

Metaxa Restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience that is not to be missed. The prices are absolutely reasonable and are in excellent proportion to the size of the portions. Particularly noteworthy is the unique taste of the dishes, which makes every visit a special pleasure. The service staff is always friendly and attentive without seeming intrusive. You are truly valued as a guest here and are kept in view at all times, which makes your stay even more pleasant. Despite the location right on the street, you can eat in a surprisingly quiet and relaxed manner and enjoy the atmosphere at Metaxa. Overall, an absolutely recommendable restaurant that impresses with both its cuisine and its service.

Located on the outskirts of Dresden, we stopped for a small meal. We were positively surprised by the offer. The prices were also okay.

We also wanted to try a new Greek restaurant, but were also disappointed. My mom, my husband and I. My mom wanted to eat zander fillet and we had gyros or I baked gyros. The food came and my mom's fish was still almost raw under all the parade. When the waiter was asked about it, he took the plate and brought it back. Now my mom sat there without eating for 10 minutes, the fish came back and then my mom could hardly bite the parade anymore. No apology from the waiter or anything and we had to pay full price. My conclusion: expensive and customer service definitely needs to be worked on.

We easily reserved a table for 5 people on Sunday at short notice. At first everything went smoothly, the starters were served and, like the main courses, were delicious. Afterwards our visit took a very negative turn as we sat in front of our empty glasses and dirty dishes and waited in vain for service for more than 30 minutes. After 50 minutes and several waiters passing us carelessly, we finally had enough and ordered the bill. While other tables were constantly surrounded and served by waiters, we literally felt "put on the sidelines". These were the impressions of a tasty meal and such substandard service that you lose your desire to eat. It was definitely our first and last visit to Metaxa, which is a shame.

Well, it's a shame chocolate ... we wanted to try out a new Greek, since our regular Greek is on vacation. We were disappointed. The garlic bread was cold and only fried on one side. The garlic potatoes were also cold, it couldn't be colder. My friend's food was only warm, the onions in it were almost raw. We weren't asked if we were happy, that's why we ate, hunger in women drives a lot. Furthermore, we didn't want to wait that long again! We also waited a long time for the drinks. One waiter can't handle criticism at all, no apology, just the words "they ate it." No, we had the rest packed up because it was warmer from the microwave!!! Unfortunately, we didn't notice any warmth or Greek hospitality.

The service is excellent, everything is great, the price is totally right for the portions. There are no long waiting times either when ordering or being served. I will definitely recommend it.

Best Greek in Dresden When it's full, it sometimes takes a while and the quality sometimes varies a bit Please brown the fries more or maybe use a different type. The dentist is happy the next day. 😂

Had a great evening… delicious food and enough… friendly staff

Very nice atmosphere. There are large benches with a large table, so the seats are somewhat separated, which is very pleasant. There was space for the stroller in the aisle without it being too much of a bother. Unfortunately this had to be carried into the restaurant as there are steep stairs. Food was very tasty and arrived quickly. There are only two toilets for men and women; these can also only be reached via stairs. This means there is no changing table. We'll definitely be back. Staff was very friendly. Parking either directly in front of the restaurant or in the designated gravel parking lot.

Everything is right here. It is very comfortably furnished. The staff is very friendly and you are served quickly. The chef does his job very well. The food tastes fantastic. It is also very child-friendly here. With the best Greek in Dresden. Keep it up!!! Another little update after a long time. Nothing has changed. Still just as good as it was at the beginning. Once again we really enjoyed it and everything went great.

When you're hungry the wait is always the longest, but in this restaurant you'll be rewarded with delicious food. I had bifteki and it tasted great and the staff was very friendly.
