Candlelight Dinner – A Delight with Minor Compromises The candlelight dinner was overall a very successful experience. The 5-course menu was consistently delicious and prepared with great attention to detail. Each course had its own character and was culinary of a high standard. The portions, however, were surprisingly generous – almost too much of a good thing. After the third course, it became difficult to find room for the rest. A slightly more balanced portion size would have made the experience even more perfect. The atmosphere was atmospheric, the service attentive and friendly. All in all, a lovely dinner for special occasions – with a small recommendation for the kitchen: Less is sometimes more.

The food tasted good, the service was great and the decor is typically Bavarian.

We were always very happy to come. Unfortunately, the menu has changed, so that several really good dishes are no longer available (make-your-own salad, fried Maultaschen, vegetable strudel, baked potato).. that's a real shame. So we probably won't come back as often in the future.

We ate and drank there several times with a large group throughout the weekend. All the dishes were excellent, the beer was delicious, the service was good and the staff was friendly and nice even just before closing time. We will definitely come back 😊

Fuimos en el almuerzo sin reserva y conseguimos una buena mesa enseguida. El wienerschnitzel de mi esposa era perfecto, y mi Schweinshaxe también. Sin embargo, es enorme, así que ven con apetito. Incluso el Knödel, con el que he tensado las relaciones (después de un año en un internado alemán en mi juventud), era bueno. El servicio era amable y rápido también, así que podemos recomendar Franziskaner.

Highly recommended, both schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn as well as salads. Good portions and very tasty.

UPDATE: The inn and hotel are currently closed, a shame. Always a pleasure. Good portions, high quality on the standard menu and on the day menu (from €8.90). Definitely try it.

The best schnitzel with potato and cucumber salad in the world 🤗 I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Regensburg. The waitress in a dirndl was attentive and very friendly. This old Bavarian inn is beautiful.
